Abstract

This community service activity aims to improve the competence of students of SMAS Wirabakti Gorontalo in utilizing digital map technology for disaster mitigation-based geography learning. Problems faced by partners include students' low understanding of spatial literacy, teachers' limitations in mastering mapping technology, and lack of infrastructure and collaborative support in schools. To answer these challenges, In-Service Training (IST) and On-Service Training (OST) training methods are used which integrate the use of Google Earth, InaRISK, and QGIS as learning media. This activity is carried out through three main stages: preparation, training, and evaluation. Evaluation was carried out through pre-test and post-test, response questionnaires, and observation of participant involvement. The results of the analysis showed an increase in students' average scores from 7.08 in the pre-test to 8.8 in the post-test. In addition, students demonstrate the ability to draw up risk maps and simple mitigation plans, as well as active involvement in practical sessions. This activity has proven to be effective in improving students' disaster literacy and geospatial skills and opening up new insights for teachers in learning innovation. Recommendations from these activities include further training for teachers, infrastructure improvements, and replication of programs in other schools. With this approach, it is hoped that a contextual, creative, and disaster-resilient learning environment will be created.

Abstract

Disaster literacy is a crucial aspect for the people of Gorontalo, as the region is highly vulnerable to various natural hazards. This program aimed to enhance students’ disaster literacy through geospatial data-based learning. The program was conducted at SMAS Wira Bhakti Gorontalo with 20 students as participants. The activities were carried out in several stages: preparation, pretest, lecture, training (hands-on), posttest, and reflection. The results of the pretest and posttest showed an improvement in students’ knowledge. The average pretest score of 67 increased to 88 in the posttest. This finding indicates that the use of geospatial data is effective in improving students’ understanding of disasters. Reflections and student responses further revealed that this program was beneficial in enhancing students’ preparedness for disasters. This program successfully improved students’ disaster literacy and contributed to fostering a disaster-resilient young generation.

Abstract

Punching is one of the main basic techniques in karate that significantly determines an athlete's performance in the competition arena. Improving punching effectiveness is a crucial requirement in the training process. This study aims to identify and evaluate the most effective training methods for improving karate punching performance through a literature review of ten recent scientific articles. The method used was a systematic literature review with a qualitative descriptive approach to the results of previous research. The results indicate that resistance band training, plyometrics, and moving target training are the most consistent methods for improving punching speed, power, and accuracy. Most methods are also economical and applicable. This study demonstrates that structured and measurable physical training can be an effective strategy for improving karate athlete performance. These findings can be used as a basis for developing evidence-based training programs in educational settings and sports clubs.

Abstract

The national health system plays a crucial role in ensuring equitable, high-quality, and sustainable healthcare access for all citizens. The reform of Indonesia’s health system continues to evolve, particularly with the introduction of the new Health Law and the optimization of the National Health Insurance (JKN) program. Major challenges include disparities in healthcare access, inefficiencies in the referral system, and the need for a stronger focus on promotive and preventive aspects in primary healthcare services. This study employs a qualitative method using policy analysis and literature review approaches. Data sources include policy documents, research reports, and scholarly publications discussing the transformation of the national health system. The analysis examines the effectiveness of implemented policies, challenges in execution, and the potential for strengthening the health system through digitalization and service innovation. Findings indicate that the digitalization of healthcare services, such as the implementation of electronic medical records and technology-based referral systems, has improved efficiency and accessibility. However, challenges remain in system integration, digital infrastructure gaps, and the readiness of healthcare professionals. Additionally, while promotive and preventive approaches are gaining greater attention in reducing the morbidity of non-communicable diseases, implementation at the primary healthcare level remains suboptimal. This study concludes that the success of the national health system depends on the synergy between policy, technology, and the capacity-building of healthcare professionals. Effective digital system integration and the strengthening of promotive and preventive primary healthcare services are key to achieving a more inclusive, efficient, and sustainable health system.

Abstract

Older adults are a group with the highest risk of developing diabetes due to physiological changes, lifestyle factors, and comorbidities. Early detection through health examinations and increasing knowledge through preventive education are strategic steps to reduce the incidence and complications of diabetes in the elderly population. The purpose of this community service is to enhance the understanding of older adults regarding Health Screening and Diabetes Prevention Education in Jangka Alue Village, Jangka Subdistrict, Bireuen Regency. The method used in this community service activity is counseling. Results: Providing education and guidance in raising community awareness. Conclusion: After the implementation of this community service, the community was able to adopt a healthy lifestyle and diet, as well as educate others about diabetes in order to prevent and increase awareness in addressing this health problem.

Abstract

This study aims to develop a web-based digital practicum module for Network Addressing Planning (PPJ) material at SMK Budi Luhur Sintang-West Kalimantan. The problem faced is the lack of use of technology in practicum learning, especially in PPJ material. For this reason, module development is carried out which allows students to learn independently and interactively. The method used is development research (Research and Development) with the 4D model, which includes defining, designing, developing, and disseminating stages. The results showed that this module was feasible to use based on the feasibility test from material experts with a score of 54 (good category) and media experts with a score of 59 (very good category), as well as positive responses from students and teachers. The small group trial with 10 students resulted in 72.6% positive response (decent category), while the large group trial with 30 students resulted in 95.7% positive response (very decent category). This module succeeded in improving the quality of learning by providing a more interesting learning experience and facilitating the understanding of technical concepts independently. The conclusion of this study is that the development of a web-based digital practicum module can improve the quality of learning PPJ material at SMK Budi Luhur Sintang..

Abstract

This study aims to improve the sport massage skills of Physical Education students through the application of the demonstration method. The research employed a Classroom Action Research (CAR) approach conducted in two cycles. The subjects were 24 students enrolled in a Physical Training course at a state university. Each cycle consisted of planning, action implementation, observation, and reflection stages. Research instruments included skill observation sheets, field notes, and documentation. The results indicated a significant improvement in students’ sport massage skills, with the mastery percentage increasing from 54.17% in the pre-cycle to 79.17% in cycle I, and reaching 95.83% in cycle II. This improvement was attributed to the clarity of movement visualization provided through direct demonstrations by the lecturer, which enabled students to understand the techniques accurately and minimize movement errors. The study recommends the use of demonstration methods in teaching practical skills in Physical Education, particularly sport massage.

Abstract

Physical condition is an essential component in achieving optimal performance in football. This study aims to systematically review various research discussing the physical condition aspects of football players at different age levels and competition levels. The research method uses a literature review approach on 10 national scientific articles published within the last five years. The analysis focuses on dominant physical condition components in football, such as muscle strength, endurance, speed, agility, flexibility, and leg power. The review results indicate that most football players at school, club, and academy levels have physical conditions categorized as moderate to good, although specific aspects still need improvement depending on playing position and training level. This study concludes that improving physical condition should be specific, measurable, and sustainable according to the characteristics of the football game.
