Zad Al-Ummah is a Journal of Community Service published twice a year (per semester) by the Pusat Penelitian dan Pengabdian Masyarakat (P3M) of the Sekolah Tinggi Ilmu Al-Quran (STIQ) ZAD Cianjur. Obviously, this journal was developed to realize the Tri Dharma of Higher Education of the ZAD College of Quranic Sciences and Tafsir Study Program, managed by experts and academics in the field of Quranic Sciences and Tafsir. In line with the vision of this journal which focuses on the results of community service in the field of Al-Quran and Tafsir science, by publishing the results of community service in the form of other actual community service programs related to the study of Al-Quran and Tafsir science.

Abstract

This service journal aims to find out how much influence the talaqqi method has in improving the quality of a child's reading when reading the Qur'an. This community service activity was carried out on 1-25 Ramadan 1445 Hijriyah, which was attended by 15 participants from the At Taqwa Mosque TPA children, Sukatani Gunung Putri village. This training was carried out based on the needs of partners related to the evaluation of the TPA program itself, namely the lack of attention of children to the quality of reading the Qur'an which had been memorized from short surahs or which had not been memorized from other surahs in the Qur'an. To get results optimally, this training is carried out using a participatory method with a service learning model. This training activity ran well and smoothly in accordance with the stages arranged in the activity implementation schedule that is already in the TPA plus the planning in the teaching process. This can be seen from the achievement of training objectives and the enthusiasm and activeness of participants in training activities.

Abstract

Service aims to develop students’ abilities in improving teaching skills. Teaching to the community as a form of dedication to society and religious communities. Teaching to the community to help the community solve unanswered problems, to form a prosperous society, and life lessons for the surrounding community. Student involvement in the process of teaching knowledge to the community is a productive step towards achieving these goals. The research results indicate that involving students in maintaining and developing the teaching of knowledge through da’wah programs. This program not only improves the quality of teaching, but also helps increase students’ sense of responsibility towards religion and the community, as well as the knowledge gained during learning.

Abstract

Community service is one form of implementation of the Tri Dharma of Higher Education which aims to provide real contributions to society. This activity is carried out by students through Al-Qur'an education at the Al-Qur'an Education Park (TPA) as an effort to improve religious literacy from an early age. The methods used in this activity include learning to read the Al-Qur'an in tartil, introduction to tajwid, and instilling noble moral values ​​in everyday life. This activity is carried out directly and participatively with an educational and communicative approach, so as to create a pleasant and meaningful learning atmosphere for children. The results of the service show an increase in the ability to read the Al-Qur'an, understanding the basics of tajwid, and positive changes in the attitudes and behavior of students. In addition to providing benefits to the community, this activity also provides valuable experience for students in applying knowledge, increasing social awareness, and building leadership. Thus, this service is a strategic step in supporting the development of a religious and character-based society.

Abstract

The training on female corpse management in Serpeng Hamlet, Pacarejo Village, Semanu District, Gunungkidul, is one of the community service programs conducted by KKN students of STIQ ZAD. This activity was motivated by the lack of understanding among the community, especially women, regarding the proper Islamic procedures for handling a deceased person. The training aimed to provide knowledge about the Islamic rulings on corpse management, enhance skills in bathing and shrouding the deceased, and supply shrouds as training materials at Nurul Hidayah Mosque.The implementation method included lectures and hands-on demonstrations, divided into two stages: the process of bathing and shrouding the deceased. This activity involved KKN students and the head of the women's religious study group in Serpeng Hamlet. The event, attended by approximately 40 participants, received very positive responses from the community. With this training, it is hoped that female corpse management cadres will emerge in Serpeng Hamlet, ready to fulfill this communal obligation (fardhu kifayah) in the future.

Abstract

This journal examines a community service program initiated by the KKN Team 2 of STIQ Zad Cianjur, focusing on religious and educational development—specifically, the instruction of Qur’anic reading using the Talaqqi method. At the elementary school level in Indonesia, particularly in the Cianjur Regency, Qur’an reading education continues to face significant challenges, especially regarding the correct articulation of Arabic phonemes (makhārijul ḥurūf) and the application of tajwid rules. Talaqqi is a traditional pedagogical approach in which the student reads directly in front of the teacher, who then immediately corrects any errors in pronunciation and recitation, This study aims to assess the effectiveness of the Talaqqi method in addressing these issues. Utilizing a qualitative approach and classroom action research, the study was conducted with students from SDN Cibeureum and Madrasah DTA Shobirunnajah, located in Cibeureum Village, Cianjur Regency, West Java. The findings reveal that the consistent implementation of the Talaqqi method significantly improves students’ ability to read the Qur’an. The direct, auditory, and mimetic nature of this method fosters a deeper understanding of both correct pronunciation and the principles of tajwid.

Abstract

Qur’anic education is essential and highly needed for all groups of people—children, adults, and the elderly alike. Therefore, improving the quality of Qur'anic recitation is crucial and should be instilled from an early age. Qur’anic education serves as an alternative solution to the various problems found within society. The Qur'anic Education Center (TPQ) is one of the facilities that helps children improve and enhance their Qur'an recitation skills, as well as a means to instill Qur'anic values in them from a young age. As a result, children will be able to read the Qur’an correctly and fluently through the application of various teaching methods used in each TPQ, including the talaqqi and participatory methods, which actively involve children in correcting mistakes in Qur'anic recitation. This community service activity uses a descriptive analysis method, where data is collected through direct observation, and the results show that the talaqqi and participatory methods are highly effective and beneficial for children.

Abstract

Qur'anic literacy is a fundamental aspect of Islamic education that contributes to the understanding and application of Islamic teachings in daily life. Community service programs play a crucial role in enhancing Qur'anic literacy, especially in residential areas with diverse social backgrounds. This study aims to analyze the impact of community service programs on improving Qur'anic literacy in The Tamar Village residential area. The research employs a qualitative approach with a case study method, involving observations, interviews, and program documentation analysis. The findings reveal that community service programs based on Qur'anic learning, such as tahsin, tahfidz, and tafsir study sessions, contribute to the improvement of participants' ability to read and comprehend the Qur'an. Additionally, community involvement in these programs raises awareness of the importance of Qur'anic education for younger generations. In conclusion, community service programs positively impact Qur'anic literacy in residential environments, highlighting the need for further development and sustainability to maximize their benefits.

Abstract

The knowledge acquired in academic fields should not only be used for personal benefit but also applied in everyday life, including through teaching the community. As female students in the field of Quranic Studies and Tafsir, it is essential to teach the correct recitation of the Quran to society from various backgrounds. Moreover, the need for proper Quranic recitation education has become increasingly urgent in today’s society. Dawah through Quranic teaching is crucial to improving religious understanding and practice. If female students are reluctant to engage with the community, the cycle of ignorance regarding the correct way to recite the Quran will continue and could negatively impact future generations. Many people still rely on inherited knowledge without proper understanding, while many female students with a background in Quranic education have yet to actively engage in teaching this knowledge.

Abstract

Arabic is one of the essential elements in Islamic education as it is the primary language of the Qur'an and Hadith. Understanding Arabic not only helps Muslims read and comprehend religious texts but also plays a role in character development through the appreciation of moral values embedded within. This journal aims to explore effective methods for teaching Arabic to children, particularly in the TPA (Qur'anic Learning Centers), using fun and interactive approaches. The results show that practice-based learning can enhance children's interest and ability in acquiring basic Arabic skills. Therefore, this program is expected to be a significant first step in shaping a knowledgeable and virtuous Muslim generation.

Abstract

Moldy boarding school in Indonesia that focuses in the field of tahfidz Al-Quran is no longer denied. Each Educational Center is competing in improving the quality of its learners in the focus of the intended field. Various methods dirangcang and applied in an effort to raise the quality of students who are educated. One of the methods used in some educational centers is the method of tahsin and talqin Al-Quran. This method is actually the method that our Prophet used in guiding his companions to keep the Quran. And this Journal discusses the influence of tahsin activities in improving the quality of reading santriwati Pondok Pesantren Putri Al Ikhlas Jember held by students of Kuliah Kerja Nyata (KKN) STIQ ZAD Cianjur.
