Abstract

Social adaptation is essential for new students entering the pesantren environment, where they must adjust to a more disciplined, structured, and collective lifestyle. Limited adaptive ability often leads to difficulties in interaction, feelings of awkwardness, low self-esteem, and reduced learning motivation. Companion teachers hold a strategic role in guiding students through this transition, yet many still lack the skills to utilize creative media that support self-expression and interpersonal engagement. To address this need, this community service program focuses on strengthening teachers’ capacity to apply collage therapy as an alternative medium for facilitating social adaptation.Implemented at Pesantren Zainul Anwar, Kraksaan, Probolinggo, the program involved companion teachers and newly enrolled students. Activities were conducted through six stages: needs assessment, program dissemination, training and workshops, collage therapy implementation, mentoring and monitoring, and final evaluation. Using an experiential learning approach, the training emphasized hands-on practice and simulation. The results show improved teacher competence in facilitating collage-based activities and increased student interaction, cooperation, self-expression, and confidence. The program highlights collage therapy as an effective method that can be sustainably integrated into creative mentoring strategies within pesantren settings.

Abstract

Digital transformation is an urgent necessity in the field of education to enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of school management. The service partners, namely the principals of Madrasah Tsanawiyah (MTs) in Pujer District, Bondowoso Regency, still face challenges due to administrative processes that are conducted manually and lack integration. Based on preliminary survey results, the utilization level of Information and Communication Technology (ICT) was relatively low, with only around 30% of education staff using digital tools for basic administrative tasks. The most affected aspects include student and teacher data management, financial administration, attendance recording, and activity reporting. This community service program employed a participatory training and mentoring method through four stages: needs analysis, digitalization awareness, training on digital school management applications, and assistance in implementing an integrated information system. The results indicate a significant improvement in ICT adoption, with the use of digital management applications increasing from 30% to 85%. Administrative efficiency improved by 60%, data processing time decreased by 50%, and internal communication became faster and more accurate. Success indicators include enhanced digital competence, increased data management speed, the establishment of an integrated school information system, and sustained technology utilization. This program successfully accelerated digital transformation and improved educational governance quality in MTs within Pujer District

Abstract

The acceleration of halal certification has become an urgent need for Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs), especially amid increasing public awareness of the importance of halal assurance in food and beverage products. MSMEs in Taman Village possess strong economic potential but still face various obstacles in the certification process, including limited access to information, inadequate technical assistance, and administrative barriers. This community engagement program aims to optimize the role of the Village-Owned Enterprise (BUMDes) as a facilitator to accelerate the halal certification process for MSMEs. This study employs the Participatory Action Research (PAR) method, which actively involves MSME actors, BUMDes managers, and village authorities throughout the stages of problem identification, action planning, implementation, and reflection. Data were collected through participatory discussions, in-depth interviews, field observations, and document analysis. The findings reveal that BUMDes holds a strategic position in providing information services, technical support, and administrative guidance, thereby reducing both the time and cost required for halal certification. Through PAR, a more effective and sustainable collaboration model was established among BUMDes, local government, and MSMEs. The study concludes that strengthening BUMDes’ institutional capacity and regulatory support is essential for building a participatory halal ecosystem that is responsive to the needs of MSMEs.

Abstract

The still-manual inventory management at the Nurul Jadid Islamic Boarding School Bureau has resulted in low bureaucratic efficiency and low transparency of the institution's assets. This situation demands digital transformation as a strategic step to support modern and accountable Islamic boarding school governance. This community service program aims to build staff independence in operating a website-based inventory information system to minimize data errors and expedite reporting. The implementation method uses a Participatory Action Research (PAR) approach involving 10 staff through stages of participatory preparation, technical training, and intensive mentoring. The results of the activity showed a significant increase in partner competency, marked by an increase in the average knowledge score from 73.3 (pre-test) to 95.3 (post-test). Based on skill observation indicators, participants proved capable of independently inputting data, updating stock, tracking item history, and printing inventory reports. A short-term impact seen during the mentoring was the creation of a valid initial database of the bureau's inventory. This success marks a shift in work culture from manual recording to a more organized digital system, resulting in more transparent and efficient management of Islamic boarding school assets.
