Abstract

Social adaptation is essential for new students entering the pesantren environment, where they must adjust to a more disciplined, structured, and collective lifestyle. Limited adaptive ability often leads to difficulties in interaction, feelings of awkwardness, low self-esteem, and reduced learning motivation. Companion teachers hold a strategic role in guiding students through this transition, yet many still lack the skills to utilize creative media that support self-expression and interpersonal engagement. To address this need, this community service program focuses on strengthening teachers’ capacity to apply collage therapy as an alternative medium for facilitating social adaptation.Implemented at Pesantren Zainul Anwar, Kraksaan, Probolinggo, the program involved companion teachers and newly enrolled students. Activities were conducted through six stages: needs assessment, program dissemination, training and workshops, collage therapy implementation, mentoring and monitoring, and final evaluation. Using an experiential learning approach, the training emphasized hands-on practice and simulation. The results show improved teacher competence in facilitating collage-based activities and increased student interaction, cooperation, self-expression, and confidence. The program highlights collage therapy as an effective method that can be sustainably integrated into creative mentoring strategies within pesantren settings.

Abstract

The acceleration of halal certification has become an urgent need for Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs), especially amid increasing public awareness of the importance of halal assurance in food and beverage products. MSMEs in Taman Village possess strong economic potential but still face various obstacles in the certification process, including limited access to information, inadequate technical assistance, and administrative barriers. This community engagement program aims to optimize the role of the Village-Owned Enterprise (BUMDes) as a facilitator to accelerate the halal certification process for MSMEs. This study employs the Participatory Action Research (PAR) method, which actively involves MSME actors, BUMDes managers, and village authorities throughout the stages of problem identification, action planning, implementation, and reflection. Data were collected through participatory discussions, in-depth interviews, field observations, and document analysis. The findings reveal that BUMDes holds a strategic position in providing information services, technical support, and administrative guidance, thereby reducing both the time and cost required for halal certification. Through PAR, a more effective and sustainable collaboration model was established among BUMDes, local government, and MSMEs. The study concludes that strengthening BUMDes’ institutional capacity and regulatory support is essential for building a participatory halal ecosystem that is responsive to the needs of MSMEs.

Abstract

The still-manual inventory management at the Nurul Jadid Islamic Boarding School Bureau has resulted in low bureaucratic efficiency and low transparency of the institution's assets. This situation demands digital transformation as a strategic step to support modern and accountable Islamic boarding school governance. This community service program aims to build staff independence in operating a website-based inventory information system to minimize data errors and expedite reporting. The implementation method uses a Participatory Action Research (PAR) approach involving 10 staff through stages of participatory preparation, technical training, and intensive mentoring. The results of the activity showed a significant increase in partner competency, marked by an increase in the average knowledge score from 73.3 (pre-test) to 95.3 (post-test). Based on skill observation indicators, participants proved capable of independently inputting data, updating stock, tracking item history, and printing inventory reports. A short-term impact seen during the mentoring was the creation of a valid initial database of the bureau's inventory. This success marks a shift in work culture from manual recording to a more organized digital system, resulting in more transparent and efficient management of Islamic boarding school assets.

Abstract

This Community Service Program is designed to revive Nabawi moral education within peri-urban Muslim families through a participatory service learning approach. The main focus of the program is to strengthen family resilience amidst the wave of digitalization that brings various social and spiritual challenges. The partner community, the congregation of Musholla Al-Fattah in Prasung Village, Sidoarjo, faces issues such as declining face-to-face interaction, increasing individualistic attitudes, weak parental supervision over gadget use, reduced attention to worship and morality, as well as the threat of children and adolescents becoming involved in online gambling practices. The program was carried out through five main stages: identifying family resilience needs, conducting interactive thematic studies of the Sirah Nabawiyah, collective reflection, participatory evaluation, and celebrating the learning outcomes. The core product was the internalization of moral values through the study of the Sirah Nabawi, with emphasis on the principles of ṣidq (honesty), amānah (responsibility), ḥilm (patience), raḥmah (compassion), and istiqāmah (consistency). The study was structured in an applicative manner and tailored to the local family context of the congregation. The results of the program demonstrated the emergence of family awareness regarding spiritual and social roles, strengthened communication among family members, and active involvement of the congregation in moral education. This PKM highlights the urgency of Nabawi-based moral education as the foundation of family resilience in peri-urban Muslim communities, while also recommending the development of similar studies that are adaptive, reflective, and sustainable in other communities with comparable dynamics.

Abstract

Vocational High Schools Nurul Jadid (SMKNJ) as vocational education institutions have a strategic role in producing skilled human resources who are ready to face the challenges of industry 4.0. However, based on the results of observations and communication with SMK partners in coastal areas, it was found that students still have limited knowledge and skills in the application of Internet of Things (IoT) technology, especially in the context of relevant industrial worlds such as aquaculture. This is a major problem because the low understanding of technology makes SMK graduates less competitive and have minimal innovation in developing appropriate technology-based solutions. This community service activity was carried out in the form of intensive training for SMK students through the method of delivering materials, demonstrations, and direct practice workshops. The focus of the training was on creating a prototype of an IoT-based water quality monitoring system consisting of a microcontroller device (ESP32), temperature sensor, pH sensor, and cloud-based monitoring system (such as Blynk or Thingspeak). This solution not only provides conceptual understanding, but also practical skills that can be directly applied to the needs of industry and student projects. Based on the evaluation conducted using a pre-test, students' understanding of IoT concepts increased by 35%. This indicator of success was proven by feedback from participants, the successful training demonstrated their ability to independently build functional prototypes, and 95% of participants successfully assembled and programmed the basics. Thus, this activity is able to bridge the gap between industry needs and the skills of vocational school students and open up opportunities for local innovation in the field of smart aquaculture.
