Abstract

Mengening Beach is one of the beaches in Cemagi Village which is a tourist attraction as well as an icon of the Cemagi Tourism Village which is crowded with visitors. Adequate parking facilities are one of the important things to support tourist comfort when visiting Mening Beach. Guidelines for designing good parking facilities are needed in order to create comfortable, safe and efficient parking facilities which cover several aspects such as location selection, capacity, layout, access, and the use of appropriate technology. The choice of location takes into account accessibility, environmental conditions, and safety. A good layout will make it easier for car and motorcycle drivers to get out of the parking lot or to park their vehicles. Designing good parking facilities at Mening Beach can help improve the quality of the tourist experience, as well as increase the safety and comfort of the parking area. This design guideline can be a reference for the government and managers of coastal tourism objects in building effective and efficient parking facilities to support the success of tourism objects..

Abstract

This study identifies changes that have occurred in Archipelago Traditional Architecture, in this case taking a case study of Traditional Houses in Kamanasa Village, Central Malacca District, Central Malacca District. Data collection was carried out using field surveys and direct interviews with indigenous peoples in Kamanasa Village. The analysis was carried out by comparing and describing the differences that reflect changes in traditional house buildings in Kamanasa Village from an architectural point of view. Along with the times, traditional houses in Kamanasa Village have changed in terms of function, spatial planning, to construction and building materials. This architectural change was influenced by the growing needs of the community, practicality in the development process, to the increasingly limited availability of old materials and began to be replaced with new ones. This architectural change also creates differences between buildings that tend to be sacred or bound by customary rules and buildings where indigenous peoples live in general. The changes occur in spatial planning that adapts to the needs of the occupants' activities. This has implications for the appearance of buildings that seem more closed and private. The standards for health, safety and security for the occupants have also increased, so that traditional houses which function as residences usually have undergone a change in the use of materials that are easy to clean and the use of structures that are felt to be stronger and safer.

Abstract

Cultural heritage areas provide insights that correlate with the historical value of the area. Historical value characterizes the uniqueness of the area and influences the physical development of the city in general. The city's past civilization is the main attraction. The tourism perspective offers a paradigm shift in society and tourists' thinking. The cultural heritage area of Jalan Gajah Mada Denpasar is a reflection of the ancient city of Denpasar today. The Gajah Mada area is surrounded by old buildings that function as shops. Shop houses (ruko) in the Gajah Mada cultural heritage area have existed since the 1920s and began to be built massively in the 1970s. Until now, around 312 shophouses have been located along Jalan Gajah Mada, Jalan Sulawesi, and Jalan Kartini. In this study, through interviews, observation, and analysis, the existence and relevance of shophouses (ruko) along Jalan Gajah Mada, Jalan Sulawesi, and Jalan Kartini were obtained. This study took 8 samples to find out which building was chosen, namely based on location (Gajah Mada Street, Sulawesi Street, Kartini Street), building function (food and beverage, coffee shop, fabric shop, etc.), and number of floors (2 floors, 3 floors, and 4 floors).

Abstract

The presence of Indonesian architecture in an area can show the identity and character of cultural and traditions of these place. The distinctive characteristics of Manggarai architecture in the city of Labuan Bajo, West Manggarai district are very necessary to show the identity and genius locus of the Manggarai people in the field of architecture as well as a form of preserving traditional Manggarai houses which are almost extinct due to the influence of modernization. In creating a contemporary Indonesian building that departs from the character of the niang house, a design strategy is needed that is able to depict traditional Manggarai architecture in the form of contemporary Indonesian architecture while still paying attention to the function and location of the design. The aim of this research is to produce a contemporary Indonesian architectural design strategy that can be used in various functions and locations. The design method used is Rob Krier's geometric transformation method and Broadbent's iconic concept with an Indonesian architectural approach. The design results are a resort hotel design strategy with the shape and appearance of today's niang houses located on Pede Beach, Labuan Bajo City, West Manggarai Regency, NTT Province.

Abstract

The village governance system in Bali is divided into two forms, namely Desa Dinas and Desa Pakraman. Desa Pakraman, as a traditional village with its leadership, has a strong influence on its residents, while Desa Dinas is limited to administrative matters. This causes an overlap in the leadership and authority of both Desa Dinas and Desa Pakraman. Peguyangan Sub-district is one that adopts this governance system, with two systems from Peguyangan Sub-district and Peguyangan Traditional Village. The governing subjects of Desa Dinas and Desa Pakraman are the same, which is the community of Peguyangan Sub-district, leading to an overlapping of governance in Peguyangan Sub-district. This research employs a qualitative method. The overlapping of Desa Dinas and Desa Pakraman governance is manifested in 1) the existence of the PKK overlapping with Banjar Istri, and 2) the use of traditional banjar apparatus for Desa Dinas activities.

Abstract

Penarukan Village in Buleleng Regency is confronted with issues of slum settlements, notably in the Satria neighborhood. The emergence of slum settlements in the Satria area is attributed to an inadequate drainage system. In response to this challenge, strategic planning and intervention are essential to optimize functionality in accordance with Minimum Service Standards (MSS). This aims to accommodate normal water flow, particularly during the rainy season, preventing waterlogging or flooding. The research is conducted to address the problem of inadequate drainage caused by blockages from waste, numerous holes in residents' yards, soil accumulation, clogging from kitchen and grass waste, and even structural damage. These factors contribute to the existence of slum settlements in the Satria community of Penarukan Village. The proposed intervention of strategy involves measures such as the installation of U-shaped ditches and infiltration wells, with a 5-meter gap between the first and second infiltration wells. The research methodology employs a descriptive-qualitative approach based on literature reviews and on-site observations. The qualitative method is used to collect, process, and analyze data obtained from literature reviews, interviews, and field observations. This study aims to provide valuable insights and practical solutions to enhance the drainage infrastructure, ultimately contributing to improved living conditions and the reduction of slum settlements in the Satria community of Penarukan Village.
