Abstract

Academic burnout is one of the serious challenges faced by students as a result of high academic pressure, excessive workload, and complex social expectations. This study aims to explore the role of mindfulness in reducing academic burnout levels among students through a qualitative approach using a case study method. Data were collected through in-depth interviews with students who experienced burnout and applied mindfulness techniques in their academic lives. The findings reveal that mindfulness, through practices such as breathing meditation, body scan, mindful walking, and reflective journaling, is effective in reducing symptoms of emotional exhaustion, enhancing focus, and improving sleep quality and mental health. However, challenges such as time constraints, lack of consistency, and minimal environmental support hinder the implementation of these practices. Nevertheless, the participating students managed to overcome these obstacles by establishing regular practice schedules and forming support communities. This study concludes that mindfulness is an effective and adaptive strategy for managing academic burnout. Therefore, it is recommended that higher education institutions integrate mindfulness programs into counseling services, curricula, and student activities as both preventive and curative efforts to improve students’ mental well-being and academic achievement. This research is expected to serve as a foundation for the development of broader, evidence-based psychological policies and interventions in university settings

Abstract

Education Study Program (PAI) in higher education, with a focus on the University of Muhammadiyah Surakarta. Motivation is a crucial factor in academic decision-making, both intrinsic and extrinsic. Intrinsic motivation includes personal interest and a call from an early age to delve into religious knowledge and become an educator. Meanwhile, extrinsic motivation includes parental influence, social environment, and job prospects. This study uses a descriptive qualitative approach with data collection techniques through in-depth interviews with ten active students. The findings show that factors such as love for religious lessons, family support, aspirations to become teachers, and spiritual motivation such as the expectation of jariyah rewards are the main drivers. However, various demotivational factors also emerge, such as unclear study objectives, academic pressure, negative social influences, and mismatches between initial expectations and the reality of college. This condition contributes to a decrease in enthusiasm for learning and potential disruptions in the sustainability of studies. Nevertheless, the majority of respondents still view the profession of PAI teachers as a way of service that is full of spiritual values and not just seeking material gains. This research emphasizes the importance of a holistic understanding of student motivations and challenges to support academic coaching strategies and policies that are more humane, adaptive, and on target.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the experiences and perceptions of millennial Muslim families in Artificial Intelligence-based applications used for Qur'anic learning and identify the challenges faced by millennial Muslim families. Secondary data research methods will be used in the research. To conduct this study, researchers need to read relevant literature from secondary sources that include journal articles and books on: AI technology in Islamic education; the implementation of AI technology in educational research; development of AI applications in learning the Qur'an. However, despite the advantages, the results of the study show that the application of AI in learning the Qur'an has various challenges. Primarily, they include a limited understanding of accent and voice pronunciation, a lack of social interaction that affects the spiritual aspects of the learning process, and ethical issues and user data privacy. Later, technological resistance changed among Muslim communities; This is also another factor that affects the acceptance of applications. In general, the study concludes that while AI is a useful tool in learning the Qur'an, a combined learning approach requires AI, as well as other interests in learning, bringing recommendations to improve effectiveness and provide a cohesive experience. App developers are advised to improve speech recognition technology, provide more varied datasets, incorporate automated tajweed scoring systems, and pay attention to data security and ethical considerations. It is recommended that more research be done to measure the efficacy of these apps through direct user experiments.

Abstract

The Merdeka Belajar–Kampus Merdeka (MBKM) program, launched by Indonesia’s Ministry of Education and Culture, seeks to improve the quality and relevance of higher education by granting students greater autonomy and learning flexibility. In the era of Society 5.0, where human and technological collaboration is essential, MBKM aligns with the constructivist philosophy that emphasizes active participation, collaboration, and reflection in constructing knowledge. This study employs a literature review approach within a constructivist philosophical framework, analyzing academic publications, policy documents, and empirical studies from 2020 to 2025 to explore how MBKM facilitates contextual, adaptive, and student-centered learning. The findings indicate that MBKM strengthens experiential and project-based learning by promoting collaboration among students, lecturers, and communities through internships and interdisciplinary projects. These practices enable learners to connect theory with real-world experiences, enhance critical and reflective thinking, and develop adaptive, creative, and resilient competencies. Viewed through a constructivist lens, MBKM represents a transformative educational innovation that bridges academic theory with societal application. It supports learner autonomy and cultivates holistic competencies necessary for the Society 5.0 era, preparing graduates to face global challenges with resilience, innovation, and a lifelong learning mindset. Overall, MBKM serves as a strategic model for advancing higher education that is contextual, adaptive, and responsive to the dynamic demands of the digital and technological age.

Abstract

The Muslim family is the smallest unit in society that has an important role in shaping the character of children through the application of Islamic values for happiness in this world and in the hereafter.  Family Development begins with the formation of the personality of each family member, especially in childhood, which is a golden period in the formation of character. The purpose of this study is to analyze the potential and challenges of utilizing AI and digital platforms in empowering Muslim families in educating children in accordance and how parents can face challenges in the digital era to shape the character of children in accordance with Islamic values. This research uses qualitative methods of literature studies, by collecting and analyzing data from books, scientific journals, and digital sources relevant to AI-based learning and Islamic Family Education. The results show that AI and digital platforms have the potential to improve the formation of children's Islamic character through interactive and visual learning experiences that support moral and spiritual development. However, the study also highlights the existence of ethical risks such as exposure to inappropriate content, as well as excessive dependence on technology that can weaken the immediate moral role of parents. Compared to traditional Islamic educational methods such as example, advice, and habituation. Digital Learning offers flexibility and accessibility, but it lacks in emotional depth and spiritual experience.
