Abstract

This study aims to analyze the effect of nutritional intake on the performance of futsal athletes of Makassar State University class B class 2022. Futsal activities require prime physical condition, which is influenced by proper nutritional intake. This study uses a quantitative method with a descriptive approach and experimental design, as well as data collection through the Fat Secret application and BMR Calculator to calculate the nutritional intake of athletes. The subjects of the study were 10 active futsal athletes who underwent regular training programs and rest patterns. The results showed that 6 out of 10 athletes experienced a lack of daily calorie intake, which had an impact on their performance in training and matches. Factors causing this calorie deficiency include the economic and environmental limitations of students. Based on these results, it is recommended that athletes be more disciplined in maintaining a balanced and nutritious diet, and receive better education from coaches and universities regarding the importance of nutritional management. Further research is needed to explore other factors that may affect the performance of futsal athletes.

Abstract

Mindset and mental toughness are two crucial factors that affect the performance of basketball athletes under the age of 18. A positive mindset, such as a growth mindset, encourages young athletes to continue learning, overcome failures, and improve their skills. Meanwhile, mental toughness allows them to stay focused, manage pressure, and face challenges and failures with high resilience. The purpose of this study is to discuss the concept of mindset and mental toughness in the context of basketball athletes under 18 years old. This discussion will also explain how these two elements affect the performance of young athletes and how coaches and the environment can play a role in the development of both. This study uses a qualitative approach with a conceptual study design. This type of research aims to understand the phenomenon that occurs through a deep understanding of the experiences and perspectives of young basketball athletes in developing a mindset and mental toughness. This approach focuses more on descriptive data collection and text analysis or in-depth interviews than quantitative measurement. Mindset and mental toughness are two psychological elements that greatly affect the performance of basketball athletes under the age of 18. Having a positive mindset (growth mindset) and tested mental toughness can help young athletes overcome various obstacles and pressures, both in training and matches. Therefore, coaches, families, and the surrounding environment need to provide positive support and appropriate coaching to develop both aspects. That way, young athletes not only develop in technical aspects but also in mental readiness to face even greater sporting challenges in the future.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the level of knowledge of badminton extracurricular students at SMA 1 Klari on the RICE (Rest, Ice, Compression, Elevation)  method in handling sports injuries. The research method uses a quantitative approach with a descriptive analysis design. Data collection through surveys uses questionnaires created in Google Forms to make it easier for respondents to distribute and fill out. The population in this study is 30 students who are members of the badminton extracurricular at SMA 1 Klari. The sampling technique used purposive sampling, with a sample of 20 students who met the criteria. The questionnaire consists of 20 questions, which include 15 positive statements and 5 negative statements. The scoring scale used is the Guttman scale, with a "Yes" or "No" answer option. The results showed that the level of knowledge of students varied, with 26.7% being at the high level, 53.3% at the medium level, and 20% at the low level. Most students understand the basic concepts of the RICE method, but lack the mastery of its practical applications, such as the use of "Compression" and the optimal duration of "Ice." Low knowledge is found in early-grade students, while upper-grade students have better understanding thanks to longer experience and exposure to information. Extracurricular programs need to include educational modules and injury management simulations to ensure all students can handle sports injuries optimally.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the basketball dribbling ability of grade VI students of UPT SPF SD Negeri Paccinang through measuring kinematic parameters such as joint angle, movement speed, ball bounce height, and dribbling frequency. The approach used is quantitative with a survey method. The research sample consisted of 24 students who underwent a dribbling skills test. Data were taken through measurements using the Johnson Basketball Test instrument, which has a validity of 0.65-0.95 and a reliability of 0.84-0.97. Kinematic analysis was performed using Kinovea software to measure the position, speed, and acceleration of movement. The results showed significant variations in dribbling ability among students. For joint angles, 50% of students were in the poor category, while 45.8% were in the good category. Movement speed showed high consistency, with 91.7% of students in the moderate category. The number of students in the poor category in bounce height and dribbling frequency was 33.3% and 66.7%, respectively. This study found significant variations in ability among students, with movement speed as the most consistent parameter. Joint angles had the greatest variation, indicating the need for further attention in the development of students' dribbling techniques. This study emphasises the importance of a holistic approach in the development of basketball dribbling skills.
