Abstract

The ability to think critically and creatively is essential for students to succeed in a rapidly changing world. Traditional teaching methods often fail to develop these skills in students. Inquiry-Based Learning (IBL), which encourages students to explore questions and seek solutions independently, is proposed as an effective approach to enhancing critical and creative thinking. Despite its potential, limited research exists on the impact of IBL on these skills in high school settings, particularly in non-Western educational contexts. This study aims to investigate the influence of Inquiry-Based Learning on high school students’ critical and creative thinking skills in a classroom setting. A quasi-experimental design was used, involving 120 high school students from two different schools. One group received IBL-based instruction, while the other group followed traditional teaching methods. Data were collected using pre- and post-assessments of critical and creative thinking skills, along with student surveys and classroom observations. The results revealed that students in the IBL group showed significant improvements in both critical and creative thinking skills compared to the control group. Analysis indicated that IBL encouraged greater student engagement, problem-solving, and innovative thinking. The study suggests that Inquiry-Based Learning is a promising method for enhancing high school students’ critical and creative thinking skills, offering valuable implications for educational practices.

Abstract

Creativity in solving mathematical problems is a critical skill for students, enabling them to think innovatively and apply knowledge in diverse contexts. However, the development of mathematical creativity is influenced by various factors, including cognitive, environmental, and instructional aspects. Understanding these factors is essential to designing effective strategies to foster creativity in mathematics education. Despite its importance, there is limited research exploring the interplay of these factors in influencing student creativity. This study aims to analyze the factors that influence student creativity in solving mathematical problems and determine which factors have the most significant impact. A mixed-method approach was employed, involving 150 high school students from three schools. Data were collected using a creativity assessment test, a questionnaire on cognitive and environmental factors, and semi-structured interviews. Quantitative data were analyzed using regression analysis, while qualitative data were subjected to thematic analysis. The findings revealed that cognitive factors, such as critical thinking and prior knowledge, were the strongest predictors of mathematical creativity. Environmental factors, including classroom climate and teacher support, also played a significant role. Instructional methods, particularly problem-based learning, were found to enhance creativity by encouraging exploration and independent thinking. The study highlights the multifaceted nature of mathematical creativity and the need for comprehensive strategies that address cognitive, environmental, and instructional factors to foster creativity in mathematics education.

Abstract

The rapid growth of Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) in Indonesia has highlighted the need for an innovation management model tailored to their unique characteristics. Despite their economic importance, Indonesian MSMEs face challenges in managing innovation due to limited resources, technological constraints, and lack of formal structures. This study aims to develop an innovation management model specifically designed to meet the needs and conditions of Indonesian MSMEs. The research adopts a mixed-methods approach, combining qualitative interviews with MSME owners and managers, and quantitative surveys to gather data on innovation practices and challenges. A conceptual framework is then developed based on the data collected, incorporating best practices in innovation management tailored to the Indonesian context. The findings reveal that a flexible, resource-conscious approach to innovation management is essential for MSMEs, with an emphasis on collaborative networks, low-cost innovation strategies, and adaptive leadership. The proposed model is designed to facilitate innovation by overcoming resource limitations and fostering a culture of continuous improvement. In conclusion, the research contributes to the development of a contextualized innovation management model for Indonesian MSMEs, offering a practical framework for enhancing their competitiveness in a dynamic market.

Abstract

Teacher creativity plays a critical role in enhancing the quality of education, particularly in elementary schools. However, limited studies have explored how teachers develop innovative learning models tailored to students’ needs in the Indonesian context. This study aims to investigate the strategies employed by teachers to design project-based learning (PBL) models and assess their impact on students’ engagement and critical thinking skills. Employing a qualitative research method, data were collected through interviews, classroom observations, and document analysis involving 15 elementary school teachers across three regions in Indonesia. The findings reveal that teachers utilized diverse approaches, such as integrating local culture, leveraging digital tools, and fostering collaborative learning, to enrich PBL designs. Additionally, students exhibited increased motivation and improved problem-solving abilities when engaging in these models. However, challenges such as limited resources and training opportunities hindered optimal implementation. In conclusion, this study highlights the potential of teacher creativity in shaping effective PBL models and underscores the importance of institutional support for professional development. Future research should focus on scaling successful practices and addressing existing barriers.

Abstract

This study examines the influence of organizational culture on the level of innovation in manufacturing companies. Organizational culture plays a crucial role in shaping the behavior of employees and influencing how companies adapt to changes and foster innovation. Despite the growing importance of innovation in maintaining competitiveness in the manufacturing sector, the relationship between organizational culture and innovation has not been fully explored in this context. This research aims to investigate how different dimensions of organizational culture—such as support for risk-taking, communication practices, and employee involvement—affect innovation outcomes in manufacturing firms. A quantitative research design was employed, using surveys distributed to employees in various manufacturing companies across different regions. The survey data were analyzed using statistical methods, including regression analysis, to determine the correlation between organizational culture and innovation levels. The findings indicate that a strong, innovation-supportive organizational culture significantly enhances the innovation capacity of manufacturing companies. Specifically, companies with cultures that promote open communication and risk-taking showed higher levels of innovative output. The study concludes that fostering a culture that values creativity, risk-taking, and collaboration can significantly improve innovation outcomes in manufacturing companies. Future research should further explore the role of leadership in shaping organizational culture and driving innovation within this sector.

Abstract

The Indonesian tourism sector plays a significant role in the national economy, with small and medium-sized enterprises (MSMEs) forming a crucial part of the industry. However, the sector faces several challenges, including market volatility, the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic, and the need for digital transformation. Innovative business models are essential for MSMEs to remain competitive and sustainable in this dynamic environment. This study aims to explore the development of innovative business models for MSMEs in the Indonesian tourism sector, focusing on the factors that drive innovation and the strategies that enable MSMEs to adapt to changing market conditions. The research employs a mixed-methods approach, combining qualitative interviews with MSME owners and quantitative surveys to gather insights into the factors influencing innovation. The findings reveal that digitalization, community-based tourism, and sustainable practices are key drivers of innovation among MSMEs in the sector. However, challenges such as limited access to capital, lack of technical expertise, and inadequate government support hinder the widespread adoption of these innovative models. The study concludes that developing tailored support systems, promoting digital literacy, and encouraging collaboration between MSMEs and local governments are essential to fostering innovation in the tourism sector. These findings contribute to the academic literature on innovation in emerging markets and provide practical recommendations for policymakers and MSMEs.
