Abstract

This study aims to examine the implementation of a multidimensional counseling approach in addressing emotional problems among students at Rabbi Radhiyya Integrated Islamic Junior High School (SMP IT). This approach views the individual holistically through five dimensions: cognitive, affective, behavioral, social, and spiritual. The method used was a qualitative approach, with data collection techniques through in-depth interviews, observation, and documentation of students experiencing emotional symptoms such as academic anxiety, low self-esteem, aggressiveness, loss of enthusiasm for learning, and difficulties in social adaptation. The results showed that this approach was able to help students recognize and manage their emotions, improve social interactions, and strengthen Islamic values. The implementation of multidimensional counseling has proven effective in reducing emotional symptoms and supporting the development of students' overall character. This approach is relevant for application in Islamic educational environments because it is curative, preventative, and transformative.

Abstract

This study aims to explain the management strategy for assessing the needs of grade VIII students in planning Islamic group counseling services at SMP IT Cahaya Robbani Kepahiang. The background of this research is based on the importance of structured needs assessment as a basis for designing counseling guidance services that are relevant to student development. The research method used is a qualitative descriptive approach with a case study design. Data was collected through interviews, observations, and documentation, then analyzed using the Miles and Huberman analysis model which included data reduction, data presentation, and conclusion drawn. The results of the study show that the management of student needs assessment is carried out in a planned manner through three main stages: planning, implementation, and analysis of assessment results. Needs data were obtained through surveys, observations, and interviews, and then used as a basis for designing Islamic value-based group counseling programs. This strategy has proven effective in directing counseling services to align with the real needs of students, while strengthening their involvement and spiritual awareness in dealing with personal and social problems. Research confirms that a good and structured needs assessment is essential in the development of contextual and meaningful Islamic counseling services for students. The recommendation of this study is that schools should continuously integrate needs assessment in counseling guidance programs, improve the competence of BK teachers in an Islamic approach, and develop an Islamic value-based counseling model that is adaptive to the dynamics of student needs.

Abstract

The phenomenon of code-switching and code-mixing is a linguistic dynamic that is prevalent in bilingual environments, including Islamic boarding schools. This research focuses on the practice of code transfer and Arabic-Indonesian code mixing used by students of the MIMLAM Cileunyi Islamic Boarding School in formal and informal interactions. The purpose of this study is to describe the types and forms of code switching and code mixing that appear, as well as analyze the factors behind it. This study uses a descriptive qualitative approach with data collection techniques through participatory observation, semi-structured interviews, and documentation. The data were analyzed with the Miles and Huberman interactive model. The results of the study show that there are three main forms of code mixing, namely insertion, substitution, and congruent lexicalization, as well as several forms of intra-sentential code switching. This phenomenon is not only influenced by the limitations of language competence, but also functions as a communicative strategy and marker of social identity in the pesantren environment. The conclusion of the study emphasizes that code switching and code mixing can make a positive contribution to contextual Arabic learning and in accordance with the communication needs of students.

Abstract

Social media has become a space for gathering and socializing horizontally and vertically, enabling direct and simultaneous communication. However, with increasing use, a social psychology issue has emerged: FOMO (Fear of Missing Out), or the fear of missing out on information. FOMO encourages individuals to behave as if they are part of something bigger, even if they are not actively involved. This phenomenon impacts mental health and communication styles in a digital society. This study examines the impact of FOMO and communal behavior on the psychology of mass communication on social media, particularly among millennials and Generation Z. The method used was a literature review, referencing recent journals and scientific articles. The results indicate that social conditions acquired through social media are directly related to increased FOMO. Therefore, effective communication and digital literacy are crucial for managing social media use to minimize the negative impacts of FOMO while maintaining healthy social interactions. These findings emphasize the need for user awareness and greater discretion in using social media to support mental well-being and quality communication in a digital society.
