Abstract

This study explores the significance of Tahfidz Al-Qur’an education as a foundation for developing students’ religious character in Islamic secondary schools. Tahfidz is not merely a memorization activity but a comprehensive pedagogical process that cultivates discipline, consistency, emotional stability, and spiritual awareness. Through Qur’anic methods such as tikrār (repetition), talaqqi–tasmi’ (direct recitation to a teacher), and muroja’ah (systematic review), students experience continuous routines that strengthen their moral habits and internalize Islamic values. Supporting national data show that religious character indicators daily worship discipline, honesty, responsibility, social ethics, and love for the Qur’an are consistently higher in institutions implementing structured Tahfidz programs. The presence of teacher supervision and role modeling further enhances students’ moral development, creating an integrated system of character formation. Comparative findings from various Islamic educational institutions indicate that students involved in Tahfidz programs exhibit stronger self-control and spiritual resilience. Therefore, Tahfidz education can be considered an effective model for shaping holistic religious character and fostering.

Abstract

This study examines the experiences of active students in the Language Council organization as a forum for developing their potential, identity, and interpersonal skills. A phenomenological qualitative approach was used with eight subjects selected through purposive sampling based on the criteria of active involvement for at least one semester and verbal ability in conveying experiences. Data were collected through semi-structured in-depth interviews, analyzed by identifying meaningful statements, coding, grouping themes, and formulating the essence of the experience. The results showed that the initial motivation for students to join was multidimensional, including academic, social, and personal needs, which influenced patterns of participation and adaptation within the organization. Students faced interpersonal, leadership, administrative, and internal challenges that encouraged the development of managerial skills, psychological resilience, and self-reflection. Social support from friends, seniors, and core administrators played an important role in strengthening self-confidence and active involvement, while also reinforcing positive experiences within the organization. The overall findings confirm that involvement in value- and language-based communities is an important mechanism for students to actualize themselves, shape their identities, and improve their personal and professional capacities.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the effect of cohesiveness on team performance among members of the Psychology Student Association at UIN Walisongo Semarang. The background of this study is based on the fact that the dynamics of cooperation and cohesiveness are very important in determining team effectiveness, especially in student organizations that have fluctuating membership and commitment. This study was conducted quantitatively using cohesiveness and team performance scales and analyzed using normality tests, Pearson's correlation, and simple linear regression. The results showed that both variables were normally distributed, with very low correlation values and significance values above 0.05. The regression results also showed that cohesiveness only explained a small portion of the variation in team performance, indicating that other factors were more dominant in influencing the performance of organization members. This conclusion suggests that improving team performance in student organizations cannot rely solely on cohesiveness, but must also consider other aspects such as individual motivation, role clarity, effective communication, and individual commitment.

Abstract

This study examines Integrative Value-Based Learning as a framework that positions Pancasila Education as a driving force for character development among elementary school students. Using a descriptive qualitative approach, the research explores how Pancasila values are integrated through classroom learning, school culture, and co-curricular and extracurricular activities. The findings reveal that character formation becomes more effective when Pancasila values are embedded consistently across learning experiences rather than taught as isolated concepts. Teachers play a central role as facilitators of value internalization by connecting academic content with students’ daily experiences. School culture functions as a moral ecosystem that reinforces values through routines, habits, and social interactions, while extracurricular activities provide experiential spaces where values are practiced directly. The synergy among these educational components enables students to develop moral awareness, social responsibility, and civic identity from an early age. Integrative Value-Based Learning transforms Pancasila Education into a living value system that shapes students’ behavior, attitudes, and character in a sustainable manner, supporting the broader goal of nurturing responsible and value-oriented future citizens.

Abstract

This study explores translation strategies of linguistic elements in the Audio Description (AD) of the Indonesian horror film Pengabdi Setan (2017), focusing on how translators mediate audio-visual information for visually impaired audiences. Employing a qualitative, descriptive-analytical approach within an embedded single-case study design, the research analyzes film scenes containing significant linguistic cues alongside their official AD scripts. The study identifies five main translation techniques based on Molina and Albir (2002): substitution, reduction, description, amplification, and modulation, which are often combined to achieve coherent, emotionally resonant narration. Substitution transforms sounds into textual equivalents, amplification expands implicit meanings, reduction condenses non-essential information, and modulation shifts perspectives to maintain narrative tension. Data analysis demonstrates that these strategies effectively convey horror elements, suspense, and character emotions while respecting the original sound design. Findings highlight the translator’s role as an active mediator, balancing accessibility with aesthetic and psychological effects. The study contributes to understanding the complexity of AD in horror films and underscores its interpretative, creative, and strategic dimensions in enhancing audience experience.

Abstract

This study maps global research trends, thematic structures, and the developmental trajectory of studies on Sufism education through a bibliometric analysis of  ScienceDirect -indexed publications from 2020 to 2025. Using a quantitative bibliometric approach and VOSviewer software, the analysis covers four key components: annual publication trends, keyword network structures, temporal dynamics, and research density. The findings reveal a significant shift in Sufism scholarship from classical doctrinal and historical discussions toward interdisciplinary approaches encompassing spiritual education, psychology, cultural studies, and digital religion. Four major thematic clusters emerge: spirituality and education, historical manuscripts and authority, ethics and technology, and Sufi literature. Overlay and density visualizations highlight the rise of new research directions, including ethical technology, Sufi-based psychological well-being, digital dhikr practices, and the integration of Sufism into contemporary arts and literature. The study also identifies underexplored topics such as Sufi eschatology, contemporary Sufi literature, and the intersection of Sufism with global New Age spirituality, indicating promising areas for future research.

Abstract

Bullying and juvenile delinquency are social phenomena that have serious implications for students’ psychological, emotional, and social development, while also affecting the overall school climate and the quality of future generations. These conditions necessitate systematic and sustainable preventive efforts. The socialization program conducted at SMP Syamsul Ulum, Cigending, Ujung Berung District, Bandung City, was organized in response to this need, with the primary aim of enhancing students’ awareness, knowledge, and skills in preventing bullying and juvenile delinquency. The program was implemented through interactive socialization methods, participatory discussions, and continuous mentoring designed to encourage active student engagement. The results demonstrated a significant improvement in students’ understanding of the definitions, forms, impacts, and handling strategies related to bullying and juvenile delinquency. Moreover, positive behavioral changes were observed, including reduced conflict, improved healthy communication, and the growth of mutual respect among students. A symbolic activity involving colorful handprints on a banner served as a collective declaration of commitment to combating bullying. Overall, the program proved effective in fostering a safe, conducive, and supportive school environment. Therefore, similar initiatives are strongly recommended for replication in other schools to strengthen the character and integrity of Indonesia’s youth.

Abstract

This study explores resistance to bullying through a reflective-narrative approach that examines the tension between care and social unawareness within a school context. Drawing on the experience of an anti-bullying seminar conducted at a junior high school, the research analyzes students’ narratives, observations, and anonymous reflections as social texts that reveal moral positions and everyday practices. The findings indicate that care emerges as a subtle form of moral resistance, expressed through empathy, listening, and symbolic support for victims, while unawareness is sustained through normalization, cultural expectations, power relations, and digital interactions. Reflective processes enable students to reinterpret joking, silence, and conformity as practices that may contribute to harm, generating cognitive and ethical shifts. Rather than viewing resistance as a single act, the study highlights it as a gradual process rooted in reflection and relational awareness. By connecting personal experiences with ethical principles and human dignity, this research contributes to broader discussions on bullying as a structural and moral issue. The study underscores the importance of reflective spaces in education to foster critical awareness and sustainable anti-bullying cultures.

Abstract

This study examines the historical trajectory of the caliphate period and its role in shaping the Islamic world through leadership, governance, social development, and territorial expansion. Using a qualitative literature-based approach, the research analyzes the era of the Khulafaur Rasyidin as a foundational phase that integrated theological principles with practical state administration. The findings reveal that the caliphate functioned not only as a political institution but also as a moral framework that emphasized justice, accountability, education, and social welfare. Internal conflicts and external challenges during the caliphate period are interpreted as historical realities that contributed to institutional maturity and ethical reflection in Islamic leadership. Territorial expansion facilitated cultural interaction and the dissemination of Islamic values, strengthening the formation of a cosmopolitan Islamic civilization. The study argues that the legacy of the caliphate remains relevant for contemporary Islamic societies, particularly in addressing leadership ethics, social cohesion, and governance challenges. Understanding this historical experience provides critical insights for contextualizing Islamic civilization as a dynamic and adaptive process rather than a static historical ideal.

Abstract

This study discusses the meaningful approach in Social Studies (IPS) learning at the elementary level (MI/SD) based on local wisdom as an effort to strengthen students’ understanding, character, and social identity. Meaningful learning emphasizes the connection between academic content and students’ real-life experiences, particularly those rooted in local culture, traditions, and social practices. The integration of local wisdom in IPS learning enables students to comprehend social concepts through familiar contexts, making learning more engaging and sustainable. Various studies indicate that learning models, media, and projects based on local wisdom contribute to increased learning motivation, critical thinking skills, and the internalization of social and cultural values. Furthermore, this approach supports character education by fostering tolerance, empathy, and a sense of cultural identity among students. The findings highlight that meaningful learning based on local wisdom aligns with curriculum development and responds to contemporary educational challenges without neglecting cultural roots. Therefore, the meaningful approach grounded in local wisdom is essential for developing holistic, contextual, and culturally responsive IPS learning in MI/SD.
