Journal of Social Humanities and Education: Scripta Humanika is a peer-reviewed academic journal that publishes research articles, conceptual papers, and critical reflections in the fields of social sciences, humanities, and education. Abstract

Education as a system demands integration between family, school, and society as formulated in the concept of the Three Centers of Education by Ki Hajar Dewantara. However, the synergy between these three centers of education has not been optimal, resulting in the low quality of national education, as indicated by the fulfillment of the National Education Standards (SNP) and various learning quality indicators. This article aims to analyze education as a system through a study of the role and relationship of the Three Centers of Education in supporting the improvement of national education quality. The study uses a library research approach through a review of academic literature and policy documents that are analyzed descriptively and analytically. The results of the study indicate that the Three Centers of Education are subsystems that are theoretically interrelated and have a strategic role in the development of student competencies. However, structural gaps were found in the form of fragmented roles, weak coordination, and the absence of a standard operational model, which has prevented synergy from being realized systematically. This article emphasizes the need to develop an integrated collaboration model as a conceptual framework to strengthen the national education system and improve education quality sustainably.

Abstract

Social, technological, and global economic transformations in the twenty-first century necessitate a fundamental shift in education from a linear model toward a lifelong and continuous learning orientation. Lifelong education is increasingly recognized as an adaptive strategy to enhance individual and societal readiness in responding to a world characterized by growing complexity and uncertainty. This study aims to examine the role of lifelong education within the framework of twenty-first-century education by emphasizing learning paradigms, the roles of educators and curricula, as well as the integration of technology and social adaptation. The research employs a qualitative approach through a literature-based study of academic books and peer-reviewed journal articles relevant to twenty-first-century education and lifelong learning. The findings indicate that lifelong education contributes significantly to the strengthening of competencies, digital literacy, soft skills, and character development, while fostering an adaptive learning culture. This transformation reaffirms education as a strategic, life-long process in the development of globally competitive human resources.

Abstract

Banknotes function not only as instruments of economic exchange but also as symbolic media of communication between the state and its citizens, representing a nation’s social, cultural, and political conditions. The design of Indonesian Rupiah banknotes, particularly the Rp100,000 denomination, embodies visual representations of the heroism of Indonesia’s founding fathers that have evolved from 1999 to 2016. This study aims to analyze and interpret the meanings underlying changes in the visual representations of Soekarno and Mohammad Hatta as reflections of dominant national narratives. Employing a descriptive qualitative approach, the research applies Charles Sanders Peirce’s semiotic analysis through the concepts of representamen, object, and interpretant, as well as the classification of signs into icons, indices, and symbols. The data were analyzed through the identification of visual elements, interpretation of meanings, and comparative analysis across periods. The findings reveal a transformation in the meaning of heroism, shifting from an emphasis on political legitimacy and parliamentary democracy in the 1999 series, to historical authority and the moment of proclamation in the 2014 series, and ultimately to the reinforcement of cultural identity and national diversity in the 2016 series. These changes demonstrate that representations of heroism are dynamic and continuously reconstructed in accordance with the political, social, and cultural contexts of each period.

Abstract

This study examines the weakening of local identity in the era of globalization by analyzing its driving factors, socio-cultural impacts, and reinforcement strategies through a systematic literature review. Global cultural flows, digital media expansion, and shifting social values have increasingly influenced patterns of communication, lifestyle, and cultural expression, particularly among younger generations. The review indicates that globalization contributes to the erosion of traditional practices, local languages, and communal values, while simultaneously reshaping social cohesion and collective identity. The impacts extend beyond cultural loss, affecting character formation, intergenerational transmission of values, and the sustainability of local wisdom. To address these challenges, the study identifies strategic approaches centered on local wisdom–based education, ethnopedagogical practices, family and community engagement, and adaptive use of digital media. Empirical findings from previous studies and official reports demonstrate that integrated and collaborative strategies strengthen cultural awareness and foster a sense of belonging without rejecting modernity. The study concludes that reinforcing local identity requires a holistic framework involving educational institutions, families, communities, media, and public policy, ensuring that local culture remains a dynamic foundation for social resilience in a globalized world.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the representation of interpersonal communication as a conflict resolution strategy of the main character in the film Komang through Charles Sanders Peirce's semiotic approach. The method used is descriptive qualitative with scene analysis techniques to identify signs in the form of icons, indices, and symbols that appear in verbal and nonverbal interactions between characters. The results show that interpersonal communication in the film Komang develops through three main phases, namely relational closeness, peak conflict, and emotional reconciliation. In the initial phase, semiotic signs build closeness and trust as the foundation of the relationship, while in the conflict phase there is a shift in the meaning of communication marked by the dominance of emotions, silence, and interpersonal distance. The conflict resolution phase shows the restoration of interpersonal communication functions through acceptance, self-reflection, and emotional awareness, which are represented symbolically. This study confirms that interpersonal communication plays a strategic role in managing conflict not only through verbal utterances but also through nonverbal signs and visual symbols that gradually shape relational meaning.

Abstract

The development of digital technology has positioned online games as new spaces for virtual communication, particularly among university students. Roblox functions not only as an entertainment platform but also as a virtual social environment where interpersonal relationships are formed. This study aims to analyze the dynamics of virtual communication among students of Universitas Pancasakti Tegal on Roblox using the Social Penetration Theory approach. A qualitative descriptive method was employed, with data collected through in-depth interviews, virtual observation, and documentation. Informants were selected using purposive sampling, focusing on active students who regularly play Roblox and engage in in-game communication. The findings reveal that students’ virtual communication on Roblox develops gradually in accordance with the stages of Social Penetration Theory, namely orientation, exploratory affective exchange, affective exchange, and stable exchange. Initial interactions are functional and superficial through text chat, which later evolve into more personal communication via voice chat and external platforms as trust and comfort increase. However, not all interactions reach deeper stages due to inhibiting factors such as toxic behavior and privacy concerns. This study highlights Roblox as a virtual communication space that facilitates the formation of interpersonal relationships within the metaverse context.

Abstract

This study examines the Candradimuka Anom Project as an innovative model to strengthen the Youth Development Index (IPP) in Central Java, with a focus on Domain 4: Participation and Leadership. The study is motivated by the low performance of youth organizational participation, social engagement, and leadership indicators, which remain below national targets. Using a descriptive qualitative approach, the research relies on document analysis, including the project proposal of PW IPM Central Java, national and provincial IPP data, and relevant youth development literature. The findings show that the program is implemented through sequential stages consisting of recruitment, online bootcamp, leadership camp, and social action projects. These stages are reinforced by collaboration among multiple stakeholders, such as local governments, youth organizations, universities, and community groups. IPM plays a strategic role in mobilizing student networks, providing institutional legitimacy, and maintaining program sustainability. The intervention is projected to measurably enhance social participation, organizational involvement, and youth confidence in public expression. Consequently, the Anom Project contributes to improving Central Java.

Abstract

Character education has become a crucial issue in response to increasing moral challenges in modern society. Islam provides a strong moral foundation through the Prophet’s traditions, one of which is compiled in Adabul Mufrad by Imam al-Bukhari. This study aims to identify the values of character education contained in Adabul Mufrad and analyze their relevance to moral formation. This research employs a qualitative method with a library research approach. Data were collected through an in-depth examination of hadith texts in Adabul Mufrad, supported by relevant literature on character education and Islamic morality, and analyzed using a descriptive-analytical technique through classification and interpretation of the content. The findings reveal that Adabul Mufrad contains fundamental character education values, including honesty, responsibility, compassion, patience, humility, respect for parents, and social care. These values are highly relevant to moral development and can be internalized in personal, social, and educational contexts. The study concludes that Adabul Mufrad is not only of religious and normative significance but also has practical implications as a source of character education for fostering noble character in the modern era.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the effect of Artificial Intelligence (AI) implementation on work productivity and the role of organizational policies in balancing technology integration and human potential development. A quantitative approach was used with a survey method targeting employees in various industrial sectors that have adopted AI technology. The data was analyzed using regression techniques to examine the relationship between variables such as organizational policy, human resource development, organizational culture, and human-AI collaboration on productivity. The results show that AI implementation has a significant effect on increasing work efficiency, but its effectiveness is greatly influenced by adaptive policies, adequate human resource training, and an organizational culture that is inclusive of innovation. This research contributes theoretically to the development of technology and human resource management, as well as providing practical benefits for organizations in designing policies that encourage optimal synergy between humans and technology.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the effect of the Asmaul Husna reading routine on character building among sixth-grade students at SDN 003 Balikpapan. The study uses a quantitative approach with a correlational research design. The research subjects include all 89 sixth-grade students, with a saturated sampling technique used for sample selection. Data were collected through a Likert scale questionnaire, observation, and documentation, then analyzed using simple linear regression with the help of SPSS version 25. The results showed that the routine of reading Asmaul Husna had a strong relationship with the character building of students, as indicated by a correlation coefficient value of 0.647. The coefficient of determination value of 0.419 indicates that the routine of reading Asmaul Husna contributes 41.9% to the formation of student character. The ANOVA test produced a significance value of 0.000, indicating that the regression model is statistically significant. These findings show that the habit of consistently reading Asmaul Husna plays an important role in instilling religious values, discipline, and positive attitudes in students in the elementary school environment.
