Edumaspul: Jurnal Pendidikan is concern in publishing the original research articles, review articles from the contributors and the current issues related to multidisipline of education. Edumaspul: Jurnal Pendidikan focuses on the following topics: Curriculum development, teacher education and professional development, teacher training, cross-cultural studies, learning, evaluation, English language teaching, counseling, management, quality of education, and the use of communication and information technology, at various levels of education and how to deliver learning. It provides an academic platform for teachers, lecturers, and researchers to contribute innovative work in the field. Edumaspul: Jurnal Pendidikan is first published in March 2017 and covers much research in all levels of education (primary, secondary, and higher education). Edumaspul: Jurnal Pendidikan become a CrossRef Member since the year 2019. Therefore, all articles published will have a unique DOI number. Beginning from Vol. 1 No. 1 (2017), all articles will be published in the English version and Indonesia version. The publication frequency is twice a year in March and October. This journal has been accredited in Grade 4 (Sinta 4) based on the Director General of Higher Education, Research and Technology No. 158/E/KPT/2021, December 27, 2021.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the effect of the size of the independent curriculum on Indonesian education. This study is a type of SLR research and meta-analysis. This research data comes from an analysis of 10 national and international journals published in 2018-2023. The keyword for data search is the influence of the independent curriculum in Indonesia. Search data sources through google scholar databases, Educarion Resources Information Center (ERIC), and ScienceDirect. Data analysis with the help of Comprensive Meta-analysis (CMA) applications. The results of the study concluded that the independent curriculum has a positive effect on the education system in Indonesia with a summary effect size value (rE = 0.68; Z = 8.146; p < 0.001). This finding shows that the application of the mendeka curriculum has a significant effect on Indonesian education in the medium category. The implementation of an independent curriculum can train students to have critical thinking skills, scientific literacy and student numeracy in learning.

Abstract

Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui hubungan dukungan orang tua dengan karakter religius siswa kelas VA MI An Nuur Cahaya Umat. Populasi dalam penelitian ini adalah seluruh siswa kelas VA dengan sampel berjumlah 23 siswa. Jenis penelitian ini menggunakan korelasi. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah kuantitatif deskriptif dari data yang diperoleh melalui pengumpulan data berupa angket/kuesioner dukungan orang tua dan angket karakter religius siswa, dengan mengisi lembar checklist dan berpedoman menggunakan skala Likret. Teknik analisis data yang digunakan adalah korelasi pearson product moment dengan berbantuan sederhana IBM SPSS-26. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa untuk melihat hubungan antara dua variabel menggunakan Teknik parametrik dengan paired sampel t test dengan hasil signifikansi 0,964 dan skor correlation sebesar -0,010 dengan kategori tidak berkorelasi, sehingga dari hasil penelitian ini tidak terdapat hubungan yang signifikan antara dukungan orang tua dengan karakter religius. Sehingga kesimpulan yang dapat diambil dari penelitian ini yaitu semakin tinggi dukungan orang tua yang diberikan maka semakin rendah juga karakter religius yang dimiliki oleh siswa. Begitupun sebaliknya jika semakin rendah dukungan orang tua maka semakin tinggi juga karakter religius yang dimiliki oleh siswa.

Abstract

One of the potentials that must be developed and formed in higher education is critical thinking. Critical thinking is an organized mental process and plays a role in the process of making decisions to solve problems. Critical thinking includes the activities of analyzing and interpreting data in scientific discovery activities. To develop students' critical thinking skills, learning innovations need to be implemented. The aim of this research is to find out how the critical thinking attitudes of IPR students develop in learning Indonesian language courses. This research is classroom action research using a design developed by Kemmis and MC Taggart which consists of three stages, namely the planning stage, the treatment and observation stage, and the reflection stage. The results of this research show that the development of critical thinking of HKI students in the Indonesian language course has succeeded in improving their thinking skills with a score of 23 in the pre-action stage, cycle I increased to 27.7 and cycle II increased to 36.6.

Abstract

Effective communication between parents and children plays an important role in the establishment of healthy and close relationships within the family. This article examines the importance of open communication and understanding in overcoming the various challenges parents face in raising children. We highlight communication strategies that can help parents build strong emotional connections with their children, including methods of attentive listening, responding positively, and overcoming common communication barriers. By understanding and applying these principles of effective communication, parents can create a supportive environment for their children's development and foster harmonious family relationships.

Abstract

Social awareness of early childhood is the awareness and ability of a child to socialize or interact with other people in a social context in a certain way that is acceptable. Early childhood is also referred to as the golden age, because at that age, children's physical and motor abilities develop and grow very quickly. Children begin to be sensitive to receiving stimulation. Therefore, social awareness of early childhood must be optimally developed. This study aims to collect various references related to social awareness in early childhood. This research is a literacy study, where articles are obtained through the DOAJ (Directory of Open Access Journals) website, Academia Edu, Google Classroom, and ScienceDirect. The reference criteria used are references published between 2005-2022. Based on various references that have been collected, social awareness has an important role in the life of the child itself. This is because social awareness in early childhood can affect their further development.

Abstract

Bullying is an act that often occurs in the school environment, which gives rise to conflict between students, thereby reducing students' sense of tolerance. This research aims to find out how citizenship education is implemented towards an attitude of tolerance through learning citizenship education at SMP Negeri 1 Percut Sei Tuan in Class VIII- A. The method used in this research is descriptive qualitative. The sample in this research was 30 students in class VIII- A at SMP Negeri 1 Percut Sei Tuan. The data collection techniques used were interviews, giving questionnaires and documentation. The results of this research show that class VIII- A students at SMP Negeri 1 Percut Sei Tuan still often carry out body shaming bullying by saying their friends are fat which results in fights and saying bad words.

Abstract

Reading is one of the important basic skill in learning English besides Listening, Speaking and Writing. Reading activity has one of the ways to catch up information, to know enough science concepts, to know more knowledge, to understand scientifics books , Through reading in reader may have satisfication and comfort. The were some problems namely : The students are not able to identify the generic structure of text, The students can not identify the main idea of text, The students not able to find social function of text, The students had difficulty to find characteristics of text. The students have difficulty to find the language features of text. To overcome the problems, the researcher was implemented Scaffolded Reading Experience (SRE) Strategy. The purpose of the research was to improving the students reading comprehension narrative text by using Scaffolded Reading Experience (SRE) Strategy at the tenth grade of SMA Swasta Kristen BNKP Gunungsitoli in 2022/2023. The research method was Classroom Action Research (CAR) especially Quantitative method. The subject of research was the tenth grade of SMA Swasta Kristen BNKP Gunungsitoli which the total number of the students was 24 students. The researcher has conducted in two cycles. Each cycles consists of two meeting. In collecting the data, the researcher used observation sheet, field notes and evaluation sheet. The result of the data in Cycle I that there were 2 students (8%) in fail level, 10 students ( 42%) less level, 6 students (25%) in the enough level, 6 students (25%) in the good level and 0 students in the very good level. The average of the students’ value was 63.58%. This result showed that the students were unsuccessful. In Cycle II that there were 16 students (33.34%) in the Good Level and 8 students (66.66%) in the very good level. The average of the students’ value is 82.50%. Finally, the researcher gave some suggestions as follows: (1) the researcher suggested to the students to be confidence to convey their text to share experience idea if the teacher implement Scaffolded Reading Experience ( SRE) Strategy in teaching comprehension. (2) the teacher was to give a reminder to the students that in giving the response they should do it by themselves without depending on the other friends. (3) the researcher suggested all readers especially to the next researchers to explore how to easy to find main idea of the text that had not been explored by the researcher in the research.

Abstract

The aim of this study is to find the kinds of motivation and the way to survive in Up film. In this study, descriptive qualitative method was addopted to describe the utterances and actions of the character. Psychological approaches was applied to analyze the kinds of motivation and the way to survive. The theories used to analyze the kinds of motivation was proposed by Runyon (1984), while to analyze the way to survival, the theory proposed by McClleand (1987) was used. The results of the study shows that there are four kinds of motivation namely intrinsic motivation, extrinsic motivation, contributive motivation, and relational motivation. Meanwhile the ways to survive in Up film are needs of achievement, needs of affiliation, and needs of power.

Abstract

The aim of this study is to analyze the representation of hero’s journey patterns from Perseus's journey in the film Wrath of the Titans. In this study, a qualitative descriptive method was used to describe the speech and actions of the characters. The structuralism approach is applied to analyze the building blocks of the film, namely the intrinsic elements. While the theory of heroism used to analyze the representation of heroes in the main character is the theory proposed by Joseph Campbell (2004). The results showed that Perseus as the main character is a hero, seen from the journey of his life in accordance with the pattern of the stages of the hero journey in Joseph Campbell's theory. There is a slight difference in the film, where the last pattern is refusal to return where Perseus refuses to continue his destiny as a god and prefers to return to live as a human with his son. However, this is not a vital difference that can change the heroic figure of Perseus.
