Abstract

The Al-Ikhlas Orphanage, located in Sidorahayu Village, Malang, faces challenges related to low levels of health education and limited awareness of non-communicable diseases (NCDs) among the children. These issues stem from restricted resources and inadequate access to relevant health information.This community service program aims to enhance the children’s health knowledge, digital literacy, and awareness of NCDs. The implementation methods include developing educational video content tailored to the children’s level of understanding, conducting training on video creation using the Canva application and promoting healthy lifestyle practices, as well as evaluating the program through satisfaction surveys, interviews, and skill assessments.The targeted outcomes include improved knowledge among orphanage children about NCD prevention, acquisition of basic skills in educational video production, documentation of the activities in video format, and publication of a scientific article in a national journal.The results demonstrate an increase in the children’s understanding of the importance of NCD prevention, enhanced practical skills in producing educational videos using Canva (including template selection, addition of text, images, and audio, as well as video export), and greater motivation and enthusiasm among participants to independently create health-related educational content.

Abstract

Entrepreneurship is the process of creating, developing, and managing a business with the aim of generating profit, whether in the form of products, services, or innovations that can meet market needs. Entrepreneurship plays a significant role in economic, social, and community welfare development. The KPEJ program of GKP Rehoboth Jatinegara recognizes the importance of fostering the entrepreneurial spirit, especially by reviving positive initiatives that can motivate women to create home-based business opportunities as an alternative means to improve family income. This is especially important as the number of those interested in or already running a business has not shown a significant increase.Thus, the main issue arises: how can the spirit of entrepreneurship be enhanced through available business opportunities? This requires an understanding of how to socialize the entrepreneurial spirit, with the hope of encouraging the congregation’s enthusiasm for entrepreneurship by recognizing and taking advantage of existing opportunities. Therefore, there is a need for socialization efforts targeting the women of the GKP Rehoboth Jatinegara congregation, particularly to help them understand the importance of cultivating an entrepreneurial spirit and making good use of business opportunities.The implementation of this community service activity aims to provide outreach on the importance of developing an entrepreneurial spirit by utilizing business opportunities for the church congregation. It will be held onsite at GKP Rehoboth Jatinegara and is expected to have a positive impact by inspiring and encouraging women in the congregation to start their own businesses and improve their family's economic well-being

Abstract

Amidst contemporary challenges such as radicalism and disinformation, the awareness of defending the nation (Bela Negara) remains a critical yet underdeveloped foundation for Indonesia’s national resilience, particularly among the youth. Existing educational approaches are often perceived as merely ceremonial, failing to instill a deep sense of practical national values. This study aims to analyze the role of community empowerment through defense education in enhancing the awareness of defending the nation within university campuses and local communities. Employing a qualitative approach with a literature review design, this research systematically analyzes data from various academic sources. The findings reveal that a synergistic collaboration between universities, as centers for human resource and technology development, and local communities, as the bedrock of non-military defense, strengthened by local wisdom, is a highly effective strategy. This approach transforms the concept of defending the nation from a formal obligation into active, practical engagement, empowering citizens with the necessary skills to counter modern non-military threats. The strategic implication of this empowerment model is the reinforcement of a comprehensive total people’s defense system (Sishankamrata), thereby strengthening national resilience against a broad spectrum of contemporary threats and fostering a more participatory defense ecosystem.

Abstract

Children growing up in mountainous areas generally live in close contact with nature. They encounter forests, rivers, gardens, and rice fields daily. However, such proximity does not always lead to an understanding of the importance of protecting and preserving the environment. In Vatambaya Hamlet, Kalora Village, Donggala Regency, for instance, many children are still not accustomed to reading, have limited access to reading materials relevant to their daily lives, and are unfamiliar with simple stories that can convey the value of caring for nature. Yet, childhood is the most appropriate period to instill good habits, including a love for the environment. Therefore, it is considered necessary to provide a simple yet engaging learning medium: environmental comics. Comics were chosen because they are appealing to children colorful, filled with relatable characters, and built around stories that are easy to follow. Through pictures and narratives, messages about protecting rivers, planting trees, sorting waste, and caring for the soil can be delivered in a light yet impactful manner. The aim of this study is to enhance children’s basic literacy skills, particularly in reading and comprehending simple texts.

Abstract

The role of MSMEs is very important for the Indonesian economy, namely contributing to Indonesia's Gross Domestic Product (GDP). National MSMEs have also been officially registered in the state gazette, in line with the government's decision to establish Law number 20 of 2008 (Law 20/2008) concerning Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises. According to the aforementioned Law, MSMEs is a term used for businesses run by individuals, households, or small-sized business entities. The continued ineffectiveness of MSME financial management related to financial management accountability is a problem currently being faced by MSMEs. In addition, there is still a lack of knowledge and understanding of Excel and accounting applications, especially regarding financial administration and reporting in MSMEs. Therefore, we as a community service team strive with technical guidance, training and workshops on Excel and Accounting will be able to improve the knowledge and understanding and skills of MSME managers in making financial reports that comply with accounting standards. This Community Service Activity was carried out for micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs) fostered by DEFEND ID in Bandung City. This Community Service program aims to improve skills and understanding of Excel applications, accounting, and financial management, reporting, and accountability for MSMEs.

Abstract

This study aims to examine the effectiveness of providing motivation and inspiration as a form of character education for the young generation in realizing Indonesia Emas 2045, with a case study at Betlehem Orphanage, Bandar Baru. The background of this study lies in the urgent need to prepare Indonesia’s youth as the nation’s future leaders, who must embody resilience, discipline, and integrity in order to contribute meaningfully to the country’s golden era vision. The research employed a descriptive qualitative approach through the implementation of a motivational seminar attended by 44 foster children. Data were collected using observation, interviews, and documentation during the activity. The findings reveal that the seminar had a significant positive impact, as evidenced by the increased motivation to learn, greater enthusiasm for achieving personal goals, enhanced discipline, and the development of core character values such as responsibility, self-confidence, and teamwork. These outcomes indicate that providing structured motivation and inspiration can serve as an effective strategy for strengthening character education among youth, particularly those from vulnerable backgrounds. Furthermore, the study contributes to the broader discourse on educational innovation by demonstrating how non-formal initiatives, such as motivational seminars, complement formal education in fostering holistic character development. The practical implication suggests that similar programs should be continuously promoted in orphanages, schools, and other educational institutions as part of sustainable efforts to build a generation that is not only academically capable but also morally strong and socially responsible.

Abstract

This community service activity is entitled Innovation in Household Waste Management Based on 3R (Reduce, Reuse, Recycle) in Anjir Village, Pulang Pisau Regency). This program is motivated by the increasing volume of household waste and the low practice of 3R-based management in Anjir Village, which has led to environmental and public health problems. The implementation method includes socialization, education, and training for residents on waste sorting, reducing the use of single-use plastics, reusing usable items, and processing organic waste with a household composter. In addition, this activity also introduced a digital waste bank system that facilitates the recording of deposits and waste savings results. The results of the activity show an increase in community understanding and skills in applying the 3R principle. The community has begun to get used to sorting waste, utilizing organic waste into compost, and saving inorganic waste through a waste bank. This program also encourages the growth of collective awareness about the importance of maintaining environmental cleanliness and opportunities for a circular economy based on waste. Overall, this community service activity produces a simple, applicable, and sustainable model for household waste management innovation. It is hoped that this model can be replicated in other villages as an effort to support waste reduction while improving environmental quality and community welfare.

Abstract

Banjarejo Village, Pudak Subdistrict, Ponorogo Regency, has agricultural and livestock potential that has not been fully utilized, particularly in the management of animal feed and cattle waste. This community service activity aims to improve agricultural and livestock productivity through the application of appropriate technology, namely a feed chopper machine and the conversion of livestock waste into organic fertilizer. The methods applied included socialization, training, and hands-on practice with farmers and livestock breeders over six months, accompanied by monitoring and evaluation of the technology’s effectiveness. The machine is assembled by utilizing a number of important components, including Diesel Matrix 6.5 G200 with 6.5 Hp power, strip plate, eser concrete, angle plate, hinge, 19 mm and 30 mm threaded axle, filter, B8 pulley system with V-belt, eser plate, and rubber wheels as mobility support. The implementation of this machine is expected to be able to provide a real contribution in increasing agricultural and livestock productivity through the use of appropriate technology that is more efficient, environmentally friendly, and oriented towards sustainability. The results showed an increase in feed efficiency by up to 40%, an average rise of 35% in milk production, and approximately 30% improvement in the quality of organic crops due to the use of compost fertilizer. This activity also enhanced the community’s understanding of sustainable local resource management and opened opportunities for business diversification in the agricultural and livestock sectors.

Abstract

This community service activity was carried out by the Faculty of Law, University of Palangka Raya, at SMK Negeri 2 Palangka Raya as an effort to enhance legal awareness among students. The background of this program lies in the increasing legal issues related to digital crimes and the urgent need for students to understand their legal rights and obligations in everyday life. The rapid growth of digital technology has led to an increased risk of cybercrimes, such as online fraud, cyberbullying, and data privacy violations, which have significant implications for individuals, particularly students. The main objective of this activity is to provide students with a comprehensive understanding of cybercrime, misuse of information technology, and the importance of responsible behavior in using social media. The methods applied in this program include interactive lectures, group discussions, case studies, and role-playing simulations, which encouraged students to actively participate in the learning process. The results indicated that students were able to grasp the fundamentals of laws related to cybercrime, recognize the potential dangers of irresponsible technology use, and demonstrate improved critical attitudes in responding to possible legal issues in daily activities. Furthermore, the program strengthened collaboration between the academic environment and vocational schools in building a young generation with strong legal awareness. In conclusion, interactive-based legal counseling proved effective in fostering legal awareness values among students, helping them make informed decisions in their digital interactions

Abstract

This community service program was designed to empower tofu micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs) located in Dukuh Taji, Gelanglor Village, Sukorejo District, Ponorogo. The main focus of the program was to improve the quality and competitiveness of tofu products through training on modern packaging techniques and the introduction of digital marketing platforms. The implementation method combined training sessions and mentoring activities that provided participants with both theoretical knowledge and practical skills. In particular, the introduction of vacuum sealer technology allowed tofu MSMEs to produce packaging that is more hygienic, durable, and visually appealing, which significantly increased the added value of their products. In addition, participants were introduced to the use of the website tahumurni.id as a platform for online promotion and sales. Through guided practice, tofu producers successfully learned how to upload product information, manage online transactions, and engage with customers digitally. The outcomes of this program demonstrated that tofu MSMEs not only improved their product packaging but also expanded their marketing reach by entering online markets. This program made a significant contribution to strengthening the competitiveness of local tofu enterprises by integrating technological innovation with effective digital marketing strategies.
