Abstract

The implementation of community service activities (PKM) at the YPI Al Husna School has brought significant changes in enhancing the empowerment of students and teachers. Before the implementation, the school faced major challenges, including a lack of teacher competence in starting and managing businesses, as well as minimal understanding of cost calculations, profit and loss projections, and financial record-keeping. However, after conducting training and focus group discussions (FGD) on managing a school-based laundry business, the situation began to change. Teachers now possess basic knowledge about business management, including the preparation of standard operating procedures (SOP) and workflows, as well as the ability to fill out and present simple financial data with high accuracy. With the establishment of a well-managed laundry business unit, it is hoped that it can have a positive impact on the independence of special needs students. In terms of return on investment (ROI) and social return on investment (SROI), the implementation of this program shows promising potential, where the improvement of teachers' skills and students' independence can be measured through pre and post-test questionnaires, as well as the achievement of established targets, creating significant social value for the school community.

Abstract

The wives of fishermen in Muara Telake Village, Paser Regency, have significant potential to develop local specialty products. However, their competitiveness remains low due to weak marketing management, limited business knowledge, and uninnovative packaging. This Community Service (PKM) program was carried out with the aim of strengthening the marketing management of local superior products in Muara Telake Village, Paser Regency. The main problems faced by the partners were weak marketing strategies, limited knowledge of business management, and a lack of innovation in product packaging, which had an impact on low competitiveness in both local and regional markets. The implementation method used a participatory approach through several stages, including needs analysis, marketing management training, assistance in digital promotion management, and training in product design and packaging that meet market standards. The results of the program indicate an improvement in the partners understanding of marketing strategy planning, their ability to manage digital-based promotion, and their skills in developing more attractive and consumer-oriented packaging. This capacity strengthening is expected to enhance the competitiveness of local superior products, expand market reach, and contribute to improving the income of fishing communities. Therefore, this PKM not only provides practical solutions to marketing problems, but also supports sustainable economic empowerment for coastal communities.

Abstract

Purworejo Village, located in Negeri Katon, Pesawaran, has significant economic potential, especially in the agriculture and MSME sectors. However, its public services have not been fully integrated with adequate data systems, as the village apparatus still uses conventional methods in service delivery. Therefore, training for the village apparatus is needed to improve public services through the application of descriptive statistics. This training aims to equip village officials with basic data processing skills to enhance human resource capacity and promote better public service delivery. The training approach is participatory and practical, with participants not only receiving theoretical materials but also engaging in hands-on practice and case-based discussions relevant to village issues. The training results indicate that the use of descriptive statistics has significantly improved the understanding and skills of village officials in data processing for public services. The application of this method allows for more accurate, systematic, and easily understood information presentation, serving as a basis for targeted policy development.

Abstract

Nasem is an indigenous Papuan village endowed with coastal resources, particularly mangrove forests, which possess considerable potential for sustainable utilization. Preliminary observations indicated that the local community had not previously engaged in any form of mangrove use. To address challenges related to mangrove utilization and conservation—both to support ecosystem sustainability and to improve the livelihoods of coastal residents—a community service program was implemented. The program focused on raising awareness of the ecological and economic importance of mangroves through environmentally friendly practices, specifically training in ecoprint production using mangrove leaves. The activities were conducted at the Nasem village hall and involved local community members as participants. The implementation followed three main stages: preparation, process, and outcomes. Educational sessions highlighted the role of mangroves in maintaining environmental balance as well as their benefits for local communities. As ecoprint product training had never been introduced in Nasem, participants demonstrated high levels of enthusiasm and engagement. Evaluation results showed a 90% increase in knowledge regarding ecoprint and revealed that 85% of participants were able to independently produce ecoprint products by creatively designing patterns from mangrove leaves.

Abstract

Improving teachers' competence in supporting mental health and early childhood rights is a crucial issue in the modern era. This service research aims to improve teacher competence through psychoeducation based on Ecological Theory at the Juara PAUD Post in the city of Bandung. This service program starts from planning that contains problem identification, then implementation. Based on the theory of Ecology, this program is not only given to teachers but also to parents as a microsystem of children. These findings indicate that psychoeducational interventions are effective in providing teachers and parents with a new understanding of the importance of children's mental health and rights, as well as equipping them with practical strategies to apply in the learning environment and parenting implementation. The implication of this study is the importance of integrating aspects of educational psychology into early childhood teacher training programs, encouraging active collaboration between teachers and parents, and making schools part of a supportive ecosystem for children's growth and development.

Abstract

This Community Service Program aims to enhance the knowledge and skills of kindergarten teachers through social and managerial aspects in partnership with the Indonesian Kindergarten Teachers Association (IGTKI) in Medan Deli District. The program involved nearly 50 kindergarten teachers from various schools in the district. The method used for this community service is Participatory Action Research (PAR), which consists of five stages: to Know, to Understand, to Plan, to Act, and to Change. The first stage aims to identify the conditions and needs of the kindergarten teachers, followed by a deeper understanding of the importance of early childhood English communication. The participants were then involved in planning and taking action through training on the use of digital applications and creating flipbook e-modules to support early childhood English teaching. Evaluation of the activities was conducted using pre-test and post-test instruments via Google Form, showing a significant improvement of 70-90 from the total score of 100. Additionally, 80% of participants committed to continuously using digital applications and flipbook e-modules in their schools. Overall, this community service activity successfully provided significant benefits in enhancing the knowledge and skills of IGTKI partners in Medan Deli, particularly in supporting the development of early childhood English communication skills.

Abstract

In the digital technology era, schools are expected to be able to implement teaching materials through technology-based media to deliver learning content effectively. Therefore, the PKM team aims to assist teachers at Sekolah Indonesia Kuala Lumpur (SIKL) in developing technology-based teaching materials. The results of the training and mentoring sessions show that teachers are highly interested in the training on digital-based teaching materials. The teachers stated that the material presented during the training was clearly explained and easy to understand, particularly in the context of implementing online learning. The time required for the training activities was very efficient and effective, and the teachers found it to be much-needed. A total of 100% of the teachers agreed to use digital teaching materials after receiving the training. The conclusion of this community service is that the assistance provided aligns with the teachers' needs, as technology-based teaching materials are well-suited for both online and offline learning, enabling students to learn anytime and anywhere. The teachers' response to the teaching materials training was very positive. This program has had a significant impact on enhancing the teachers' understanding of developing digital teaching materials, which can contribute to improving the quality of education at Sekolah Indonesia Kuala Lumpur.

Abstract

The Community Reading Garden (Taman Bacaan Masyarakat/TBM) Warung Pasinaon plays an important role as a literacy center for the community, especially for youth, in enhancing reading interest and literacy skills. However, youth empowerment in digital literacy still faces several challenges, such as low writing skills, limited use of technology, and a lack of interest in digital reading. This community service program aims to provide digital literacy training through e-book creation, enabling youth to write, edit, design, and publish their works digitally. The program employs the Participatory Rural Appraisal (PRA) and learning by doing methods, targeting youth from TBM Warung Pasinaon in Semarang Regency. The training consists of five stages: introduction to digital literacy, writing and editing training, e-book creation, digital publication, and evaluation and reflection. Activities are carried out through a community empowerment approach involving workshops, hands-on practice, interactive discussions, and mentoring. The results show a significant improvement in participants’ digital literacy skills, increasing from 17.56% before to 92.00% after the training. The impact is evident through the emergence of youth e-book works, growing digital reading interest, and enhanced confidence in creative expression, thereby strengthening TBM’s role as a technology-based literacy center.

Abstract

The development of information technology in the healthcare sector brings significant benefits for improving services, but also poses serious challenges related to the protection of patient personal data. The prevalence of medical data leaks demonstrates weak security systems and a low level of understanding among healthcare workers regarding the legal and ethical aspects of data management. This study aims to improve the legal understanding of medical and healthcare workers in protecting patient personal data through the Compulsory Lecturer Service Program (PDWA) at a hospital in Banjarmasin City. The method used was participatory outreach, delivering materials on regulations, data governance, and professional ethics, as well as quantitative evaluation through pre- and post-tests. The results showed a gap in initial knowledge, but after the outreach, there was a significant increase in legal understanding, professional attitudes, and ethical awareness among participants. This program also encouraged the formation of a work culture that better respects patient privacy and strengthens hospital institutional governance, thereby increasing public trust in healthcare services. The implications of this activity are the importance of ongoing training, strengthening internal regulations, and developing a secure digital infrastructure to minimize the risk of data leaks. Thus, patient personal data protection can be implemented optimally and sustainably in the hospital environment.

Abstract

This community service program was carried out with the Women Farmers Group (KWT) Bukit Makmur in Pappota Village, Banggae Timur District, Majene Regency. The program was motivated by the limited knowledge, skills, facilities, and capital of the group in managing agricultural products, particularly vegetables. The method used was Participatory Action Research (PAR) through stages of socialization, training, mentoring, and participatory evaluation. The activities resulted in increased knowledge and skills of KWT members in vegetable processing, product diversification into value-added products such as spinach chips, vegetable nuggets, and instant seasoning, as well as the application of appropriate technologies such as a food dehydrator and vacuum sealer. In addition, the introduction of digital marketing strategies through social media and WhatsApp Business expanded the market reach of the products. This program has contributed to enhancing entrepreneurial motivation, household income, and family economic resilience. Therefore, this community service activity supports women’s empowerment, strengthens local food security, and contributes to the achievement of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
