Abstract

The leadership of the principal or madrasah has an important role in improving the quality of education, especially in the field of Islamic Religious Education (PAI). A principal is not only tasked with managing administration effectively, but the principal also motivates and directs all parties involved in education to achieve the targets that have been set. This article aims to discuss various paradigms and thoughts on the leadership of the principal in the context of PAI, as well as to explore the competence, type of leadership, and responsibilities of the principal in improving the quality of PAI. In addition, this article also identifies various problems that are often faced by principals and provides solutions to overcome these challenges. The research method used in this study is descriptive qualitative with secondary data research data sources, data collection techniques are carried out through documentation studies and analyzed using content analysis techniques. Based on this study, it was found that an effective principal must have competencies in managerial, pedagogical, leadership, and social, and can apply various types of leadership to support improving the quality of PAI. Solutions to overcome various problems faced by principals, such as the lack of PAI teacher skills and difficulties in implementing the curriculum, can be found through training for teachers and adjusting the curriculum to be more flexible.

Abstract

This study aims to describe how religious moderation values are innovatively integrated into the school curriculum, identify implementation strategies and challenges, and analyze their impact on students’ religious attitudes at SMAN 8 Sijunjung. Employing a qualitative case study approach, data were collected through in-depth interviews, participatory observation, documentation, and focus group discussions (FGDs) involving eight students, three teachers (Islamic Education, History, and Indonesian Language), two homeroom teachers, and the school principal. The findings reveal that moderation values are integrated across multiple subjects through contextual content on tolerance, interfaith dialogue, and social diversity. Implementation is strengthened by reflective teaching methods, teachers' exemplary attitudes, and the principal's leadership in promoting interfaith programs and inclusive cultural activities. Despite challenges such as limited pedagogical support and resistance from some parents, the integration of moderation values has shown a positive impact on students' religious attitudes—making them more open, inclusive, and dialogical. These findings underscore the urgency of mainstreaming religious moderation systematically through curriculum design, instructional practices, and the overall school culture.

Abstract

The limited time allocated for Arabic language learning in elementary schools highlights the need for additional, flexible, and engaging classes. Maha Arabic center is an online learning platform specifically designed for children, using a visual, audio, and hands-on approach. This study aims to explain the learning strategies implemented in the Maha Arabic center program. The research employed a qualitative descriptive method using observation, documentation, and interviews with 15 first-grade students from class 1A, along with feedback from parents. The results show that the strategies used include vocabulary introduction through videos and Arabic songs, muḥāḍarah (speaking practice) with native speakers, as well as structured online assignments and evaluations. These strategies have proven effective in increasing children’s engagement, enthusiasm, and language skills. Moreover, parental involvement is also a crucial supporting factor in the learning process. Therefore, the Maha Arabic center learning strategy is relevant as an alternative model for online Arabic language learning for children.

Abstract

This article examines the relevance between the concept of information credibility in modern discourse and the hadith criticism in Islamic tradition, particularly regarding the use of weak (dha’if) hadith. Employing a library research method, the study draws parallels between digital media literacy criteria and classical methodologies for hadith validation. The findings reveal that both modern and traditional frameworks emphasize scrutiny of the source, content, and objectivity. The study also discusses scholarly debates on the acceptability of dha’if hadith and reflects on the need for cautious engagement with online information. The paper concludes by emphasizing the importance of educational awareness in navigating religious and general knowledge dissemination in contemporary media.

Abstract

The critical thinking skills of class VIII students of SMP Negeri 4 Majene are still relatively low, as seen from the lack of responses to teacher questions, difficulties in understanding the material, and less conducive classroom behavior. The purpose of this study was to optimize critical thinking skills through the application of the RICOSRE-FC learning paradigm with Wordwall media. The research employed Kemmis and Taggart's spiral model of Classroom Action Research (CAR) model in two cycles, which included the stages of observation, reflection, action, and planning. A total of 19 students were involved. The data collection instrument was a critical thinking skills questionnaire analyzed using a score scale and percentage. The results showed an increase in completeness from 78.95% in the pre-action to 89.47% in cycle I, then increased again to 94.74% in cycle II. A total of two students in cycle II were categorized as very high, while the low category decreased. The most prominent indicator was Elementary Clarification, which showed students' ability to explain simply. The application of the RICOSRE-FC model assisted by Wordwall has proven effective in creating interactive and reflective learning, thereby empowering students' critical thinking skills.

Abstract

The transformation of the Arabic language curriculum is essential for developing language skills that meet the challenges of the contemporary era and the needs of the future Islamic civilization. This study aims to analyze the transformation of the Arabic curriculum through five curriculum evaluation approaches: goal-oriented, need assessment, formative, responsive, and connoisseurship. Using a qualitative literature study and descriptive analysis of curriculum documents and previous evaluation results, the research found that the current Arabic curriculum is still dominated by cognitive approaches such as memorization and grammar, while communicative skills and students’ contextual needs are less addressed. Formative assessments and stakeholder participation in curriculum development are also limited. The novelty of this study lies in its recommendation for an integrative curriculum transformation combining language competencies, Islamic values, cultural identity, and 21st-century skills. The implication is the urgent need to revise the curriculum to be more responsive to students’ needs and global challenges, thus producing future generations capable of active contributions to Islamic civilization.

Abstract

This article aims to describe the community service program of the Bogor Ummul Quro Al-Islamy Institute at the Wadil Qur'an Islamic Boarding School in Bogor. Where the service process focuses on assisting fun learning methods in memorizing the Qur'an. The fun learning method is applied in tahfidz Al-Qur'an to overcome the classic challenges in the memorization process that tend to be monotonous and boring, especially for children and adolescents. The main background of the application of this method is the need to foster intrinsic motivation, increase interest in learning, and create a more comfortable and pleasant atmosphere, so that students do not feel pressured during the memorization process. In addition, this approach also arises from the realization that the learning styles of students are very diverse, and adaptive and creative methods are needed to reach all students' characters. The method used in this study is qualitative research, the resource persons for this study consist of leaders, teachers and students of the Wadil Qur'an Islamic Boarding School, the data collection techniques that are carried out are observation and in-depth interviews. The data analysis technique carried out is descriptive analysis. The results of the study concluded that the application of fun learning in the process of memorizing the Qur'an at the Wadil Qur'an Islamic Boarding School proved to be effective in providing a conducive learning atmosphere so as to improve the quality of learning, and the quality of memorization of the Qur'an for students of the Wadil Qur'an Islamic Boarding School.

Abstract

Currently, public speaking skills are very important for teachers in delivering teaching materials and in effectively promoting student enrollment. However, many teachers lack the confidence needed for this. This community service activity applies the concepts of Dakwah Rhetoric from Aristotle and Lasswell, where rhetoric is seen as the art of speaking with both informative and persuasive abilities. The goal is to help teachers become more confident in delivering engaging and effective lessons. The method used in this service activity is Participatory Action Research (PAR), an approach aimed at addressing problems and meeting the practical needs of the community while also producing knowledge. This method involves collaboration between researchers, participants, and students to solve the challenges faced by teachers in improving their public speaking effectiveness.

Abstract

The implementation of Direct Cash Assistance is a form of social protection scheme based on social assistance aimed at determining the implementation and effectiveness of Direct Cash Assistance in improving the welfare of the people of Pambanganan Village, to evaluate the suitability of the Direct Cash Assistance (BLT) program with Islamic economic principles in the context of improving the welfare of the people of Pambanganan Village. This study uses a qualitative approach with a type of field research that focuses on the implementation of direct cash assistance in Pambanganan Village with research subjects being beneficiary families and village officials. Data collection techniques used are observation and interviews with BLT beneficiary families. The technique for analyzing data uses descriptive analysis using the Triangulation method developed by Miles and Huberman. The effectiveness of the direct cash assistance program is assessed from 3 points, namely 1. Target accuracy, 2. Timeliness, 3. Accuracy of the amount. The results of the data obtained by the author in the field can be concluded that the achievement of welfare and happiness indicators according to QS Al-Quraish verses 3-4 a. Tawakkal with 92% b. Loss of hunger with 52%, c. Loss of fear with 80%. In accordance with the principles of mashlahah dharuriyah, especially in protecting lives and protecting property.
