Abstract

Achievement motivation is part of the affective domain which also determines learning success. Motivation is an incentive for individuals to do better and tends to assess themselves to measure the progress that has been achieved. Researchers intend to conduct development research to produce appropriate achievement motivation instruments. So that it can be used as an instrument for evaluating achievement motivation in students. This research is a research and development (R&D) with 4D model namely Define, Design, Develop and Disseminate. In this study, only the develop phase was carried out, namely expert validation and limited trials. The instrument developed was a questionnaire with 4 Likert scales. The sample used was Physics Education students at FKIP Mataram University. From the results of the study note that as many as 74% of students who have high motivation, and as many as 11% of students who have moderate motivation. For the results of the feasibility analysis, achievement motivation was obtained from the results of the validator assessment. Based on the validator's evaluation, the achievement motivation questionnaire has an average eligibility of all aspects of 3.37 with a very good category and a content validation value of 0.85 with a valid category. So it can be concluded if the achievement motivation evaluation instrument is appropriate to be used in the assessment of achievement motivation in students.

Abstract

The ability to solved problems is an important element in learning mathematics. But in reality at SMPN 13 Mataram this ability still low with a percentage of 70% of students having low problem solving abilities. The reason is teachers tend use same learning methods and students also not know how to optimize their own potential in learning. One way to make learning mathematics effective is by knowing learning styles used by students. This study aims to describe the problem-solving abilities claass VIII at SMPN 13 Mataram based on learning styles. The type of research used is qualitative research with research instruments namely problem solving ability tests, learning style questionnaires and interviews. The results obtained from 28 students were students with 12 students in the visual style category, 15 auditory students and 1 student with a kinetic learning style. The conclusion from the research results is that from the four stages of problem solving based on the theory of polya. , The visual learning style is able to complete the four stages very well. Auditory learning styles can only complete the 3 stages well and do not do the re-checking stage. In the kinetic learning style, it can only solve one problem and does not carry out the rechecking stage. The main difference between these three learning styles is the accuracy in problem processing. Keywords: problem solving ability, learning style, SMPN 13 Mataram ABSTRAK ANALISIS KEMAMPUAN PEMECAHAN MASALAH MATEMATIKA DITINJAU DARI GAYA BELAJAR SISWA KELAS VIII SMPN 13 MATARAM Kemampuan pemecahan masalah menjadi salah satu elemen penting dalam pembelajaran matematika. Namun kenyataannya di SMPN 13 Mataram kemampuan tersebut masih rendah dengan persentase 70% siswa memiliki kemampuan pemecahan masalah yang rendah. Salah satu cara mengoptimalkan pembelajaran matematika dengan mengetahui gaya belajar yang digunakan siswa. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan kemampuan pemecahan masalah di SMPN 13 Mataram kelas VIII ditinjau dari gaya belajar. Jenis penelitian yang digunakan yaitu penelitian kualitatif dengan instrumen penelitian yaitu tes kemampuan pemecahan masalah, angket gaya belajar dan wawancara. Hasil yang didapatkan dari 28 siswa terdapat siswa dengan 12 siswa kategori gaya visual, 15 siswa auditori dan 1 siswa dengan gaya belajar kinetik. Kesimpulan dari hasil penelitian yaitu dari empat tahapan pemecahan masalah berdasarkan teori polya, gaya belajar visual mampu menyelesaikan empat tahapan dengan sangat baik. Gaya belajar auditori hanya dapat menyelesaikan 3 tahapan dengan baik dan tidak melakukan tahapan memeriksa kembali. Pada gaya belajar kinetik hanya dapat menyelesaikan satu masalah dan tidak melakukan tahapan memeriksa kembali. Perbedaan utama dari ketiga gaya belajar ini yaitu ketelitian pada pengerjaan soal. Abstract

This study aims to develop the valid, practical, and effective teaching by using problem based learning model. This method of this study is R&D (Research adn Development). This study involves research and divelopment using 4D (Define, Design, Develop, and Development) learning model. This study produces learning instrumen such as syllabus, lesson plan, students worksheet, learning video, and test instruments. Learning devices are validated by three validators of mataram university physics education and three validators by high school teachers. Limited trial subjects are students of class X MIPA 1 SMAN 6 Mataram. The result of this study shows that 1) learning student by using problem based learning model such as syllabus, lesson plan, students worksheet, learning video, and test instruments includes in valid category, 2) students and teacher’s response to learning student by using problem based learning model includes in good category, 3) learning student by using problem based learning model is effective to use in online learning. From this result of the study, it can be concluded that the developed learning instrument is valid, practical, and effective. Abstract

A good learning process is one that can help students construct their knowledge, skills, and attitudes to solve every problem in their daily lives. To achieve such a learning process, the Think Pair Share learning model is needed as an alternative solution. The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of the Think Pair Share learning model on high school students' physics learning outcomes. This study was a quasi-experimental study with a pre-test post-test control group design. The research population consisted of all students at one of the senior high schools in Sumbawa, while the research sample was divided into two groups of 11th-grade science students: the experimental group and the control group. The research instrument used was a test. The data were analyzed using a t-test at a significance level of 0.05. The results showed that the physics learning outcomes of students in the experimental group were higher than those in the control group, and the calculated t-value was > t-table, namely 6.430 > 1.684. Therefore, it can be concluded that the TPS learning model has an effect on the physics learning outcomes of high school students.

Abstract

The problem of scheduling learning activities at SMKN 4 Mataram is the same teachers are scheduled at the same time in two class or more. The coloring graph concept can be used to find out the causes of the scheduling problems at SMKN 4 Mataram. Based on result of the application coloring graph concept generated  to the chromatic number is 23 with slots number is 46 which is smaller than 55 or  time slots  at SMKN 4 Mataram. Because slots of chromatic number are smaller than the time slots at SMKN 4 Mataram, it is known that the causes of scheduling problems at SMKN 4 Mataram are wrong scheduling way. One of solution to this problem is to compile a schedule based on the coloring graph concept by mapping 419 subjects with 84 teachers and 55 time slots spread from Monday to Saturday. In applying the coloring graph concept, the Largest Degree Ordering (LDO) algorithm is used. It is because this algorithm is simpler than other algorithms.

Abstract

This research The purpose of this study was to determine and describe the level of mathematical literacy in  students grade 8th of Junior High School for problem solving of HOTS. The research method that used in this study is descriptive research. The sample in this research were students grade 8th of SMP Negeri 4 Brang Rea. The sampling technique used is purposive sampling with 43 students for the sample. The data collection uses a written test technique in the form of a description that has been declared valid and feasible to use. The data that has been checked are then processed, tabulated, grouped and analyzed so that the research results are obtained showed that 67.44% students had not been able to reach level 4, students who were able to reach level 4 were only 25.58% while for level 5 and 6 were each of 4.65% and 2.33% student, the level of mathematics literacy ability forgrade  8thstudents of SMPN 4 Brang Rea on academic year 2020/2021 problem solving of HOTS is very low with persentase 81.40%.

Abstract

Learning is a change of behaviour which is relatively stay in an individual as an impact from their experience. The result of  a learning process show the student achievement for the effort they have done and will be given by the teacher in number or alphabet form. One of the things that affects the student learning achievement is non-intellectual factor that is personality factor. SMKN 5 Mataram is one of school that has student with varying personalities and achievements. Because of this, analysis of student’s mathematics achievement based on personalities has to be done. The research type used was causal-comparative research (ex post facto) with purposive sampling technique. This research used quantitative data analysis (descriptive and inferential analysis) and qualitative data analysis. As for the hypothesis test which used one way anova test with the help of SPSS21, obtained that the value of Fcount= 2.361 < Ftabel = 3.92 so that H0 was accepted. Consequently, it can be concluded that there were not mathematics achievement difference of 11th  grade students at SMKN 5 Mataram based on extrovert and introvert personalities.

Abstract

This research aims to (1) know the difference in student’s mathematical communication skill who using cooperative learning model talking stick type  with the student’s who using lecture learning model and (2)  know how much influence the cooperative learning model talking stick type  on student’s mathematical communication skills. The subjects in this study are class VIII.4 as a control class and class VIII.7 as an experimental class. Amount of students at each class are 38 students. The instrument that used in this research are : student worksheet, observation sheet teacher activities, and mathematical communication test questions are in the form of descriptive questions. The mathematical communication test is divided into two parts, they are pretest and post test. After implementing the learning process using the control class nor experimental class with different treatments, it can be seen that mathematical communication skill of student who learn to use coopertive learning model talking stick type better than the students who learn to use lecture learning model. The results of data analysis improvement in students mathematical communication skill can be seen from the N-gain mean on experimental class who high category and the N-gain mean on control class who low category. Thus it can be seen that coopertive learning model talking stick type is significant influential and can improve students mathematical communication skill.

Abstract

This study aims to determine whether there is a significant relationship between self-confidence and mathematical communication skills of students of class VIII of SMPN 1 Southwest Praya in the academic year 2019/2020. This research is an ex-post facto research. The population of this study was all students of class VIII of SMPN 1 Southwest Praya with the study sample used was the entire population taken with saturated sampling technique. Data collection techniques in this study used self confidence questionnaire instruments and mathematical communication skills tests. Data were analyzed using Microsoft Excel 2013 software with Pearson product moment correlation analysis technique. The results of data analysis show that self confidence and mathematical communication skills are included in the level of strong relationships and have a positive relationship, meaning that if self confidence is good, then mathematical communication skills are also good, and vice versa if self confidence is lacking, then mathematical communication skills are also lacking. The results of the hypothesis show that there is a significant relationship between self confidence and mathematical communication skills of students of class VIII of SMPN 1 Southwest Praya in the academic year 2019/2020.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the types of student’s difficulties in solving the mathematical problem material of comparison evaluated from the ability level of students class VII of SMPN 1 Maluk in academic year 2020/2021. The type of research is descriptive quantitative research. The population of this study was students of class VII SMPN 1 Maluk. In determining the sample, the proportionate stratified random sampling technique was used. The sample in this study were 20 students and were taken randomly. The data collection techniques used were test and interview. The results obtained from the research that for high ability students in question number 1 they have difficulty in calculating of 38.88%, difficulty in transferring knowledge of 16.66%, difficulty in mathematical language of 50%, and difficulty in visual perception of 16. ,66%. In question number 2, high ability students have difficulty in calculating of 55.12%, difficulty in transferring knowledge of 52.77%, difficulty in mathematical language of 33.33%, and difficulty in visual perception of 83.33%. For medium ability students in question number 1 they have difficulty in calculating of 59.52%, difficulty in transferring knowledge of 57.14%, difficulty in mathematical language of 71.42%, and difficulty in visual perception of 28.57%. In question number 2, students with medium ability have difficulty in calculating by 71.42%, difficulty in transferring knowledge of 71.42%, difficulty in mathematical language of 85.71%, and difficulty in visual perception of 100%. For students with low ability in question number 1 they have difficulty in calculating of 73.80%, difficulty in transferring knowledge of 85.71%, difficulty in mathematical language of 85.71%, and difficulty in visual perception of 100%. In question number 2, low ability students have difficulty in medium ability of 100%, difficulty in transferring knowledge of 100%, difficulty in mathematical language of 100%, and difficulty in visual perception of 100%.
