Abstract

This writing aims to revisit the results of a community service activity by analyzing how cross-unit administrative coordination is implemented to maintain workflow within the tiered organizational structure at PT. Swabina Gatra. The focus of the research is directed at the effectiveness of inter-unit coordination processes, particularly in managing incoming and outgoing mail, distributing internal documents, and using the ERP system for administrative recapitulation. The method used is descriptive qualitative, with data collection techniques including direct observation and documentation during the Merdeka Belajar Kampus Merdeka (MBKM) internship program. The findings show that cross-unit coordination has been carried out systematically, involving several stages of verification and information distribution. However, challenges were still found, such as delays in data collection from other units, suboptimal implementation of comprehensive administrative system digitalization, and reliance on informal communication. Therefore, strengthening coordination can be achieved through the development of cross-unit SOPs, digital system integration, and enhancement of human resource capacity to create a more efficient and accountable workflow.

Abstract

Women Farmers Group (KWT) has a strategic role in women's economic empowerment and agricultural-based product development. However, KWT Puspa Gemari in Bantul, Yogyakarta, still faces obstacles in calculating production costs, unattractive packaging design, and limited marketing. This community service initiative aims to enhance the sustainability of herbal medicine businesses through training on production cost analysis, packaging design, and digital marketing. Methods include observation, training, Focus Group Discussion (FGD), and mentoring. Results show improved member understanding of product costing (from 5 to 12 members), upgraded packaging (from plastic bottles to glass bottles with professional labels), and expanded marketing via digital platform with a Purchasing Order (PO) system. Significant impacts include production efficiency, product competitiveness, and market expansion. These activities demonstrate that an integrated approach to production management and digital marketing can strengthen the sustainability of women-led micro-businesses. Future recommendations include continuous mentoring, product diversification, and digital technology optimization to enhance KWT's market position.

Abstract

Preeclampsia constitutes an obstetric complication with 5.3% prevalence in Indonesia, significantly contributing to maternal mortality rates. Cognitive deficiency among pregnant women regarding preeclampsia risk factors represents a fundamental determinant in primary preventive strategies. This research aimed to optimize awareness and comprehensive knowledge of gravidas concerning preeclampsia through implementation of structured health education programs. Research methodology employed participatory action research involving 13 gravida respondents at Posyandu Dahlia XI, Karawang Regency. Comprehensive educational interventions encompassed interactive counseling, applicative demonstrations, and educational media development. Pre-post test evaluation demonstrated significant escalation of optimal knowledge categories from 38.46% to 84.61% of respondents post-intervention. The program successfully generated behavioral transformation, establishment of sustainable peer support mechanisms, and formation of collective community awareness. Implementation of participatory health education proved effective in cognitive enhancement and gravida awareness toward preeclampsia preventive strategies, resulting in sustainable behavioral modification within maternal communities. This intervention model demonstrates significant potential for replication in similar healthcare settings

Abstract

Children under the care of the Child Welfare Institution (LKSA) generally come from vulnerable backgrounds, such as losing their parents, poverty, or neglect, which limits their access to education and character building. This Community Service Activity (PKM) aims to enhance educational awareness, learning motivation, and basic life skills among children at the LKSA Caritas Dorkas Orphanage. The methods employed include interactive lectures, educational games, simple simulations, and creative activities. The results of the activity showed an increase in children's understanding of the importance of education, the growth of learning enthusiasm, and the development of positive behaviors such as cooperation, responsibility, and personal hygiene. Life skills simulations successfully fostered new, more productive habits, while creative activities encouraged children's expression and self-confidence. In conclusion, the educational-participatory approach was able to create positive psychosocial and behavioral impacts. The implications of this activity indicate that simple yet structured interventions in the LKSA environment can be an effective strategy in building children's character and independence. Such activities need to be carried out continuously and involve various parties to strengthen the role of LKSA as a holistic and transformative childcare institution.

Abstract

Aquaponics is an integrated farming system that combines fish farming (aquaculture) and soil-less farming (hydroponics) in a recirculating ecosystem. Fish waste is filtered by bacteria and converted into nutrients for the plants, while the plants help maintain water quality for the fish. This community service activity was carried out by student interns through socialization and practice of aquaponic cultivation systems and fishery product processing on June 10, 2025, in Fadoro Village, West Nias. The aquaponic system has proven efficient in utilizing limited land, reducing the use of chemical fertilizers, and producing healthy and environmentally friendly products.

Abstract

This community service activity was carried out in Tugalagawu Village, Sirombu District, West Nias Regency, in response to the low technical capacity of fish farming groups and vocational school students in independently producing fish feed. Through a collaborative participatory approach, the activity aimed to enhance participants' understanding and skills in designing and producing 30% protein-based floating fish feed using local raw materials, employing the Pearson Square method. The implementation began on April 17, 2025, concurrently with the internship program for University of Nias students, and involved technical department officials, village government representatives, vocational education institutions, and the fish farming community. The activity includes lectures, discussions, and hands-on practice, from ingredient formulation, mixing, molding, to drying the feed. The results show a significant improvement in participants' technical understanding and practical skills, as well as the creation of high-quality feed products tested directly in the field. In addition to producing modules, tutorial videos, and local working units, the activity also contributed to enhanced economic self-reliance and strengthened village institutional networks. These findings underscore that capacity-building through science and technology-based community service can drive productive and sustainable transformation in the village fisheries sector.

Abstract

Organic waste management is a serious challenge faced by rural communities, including in Lologolu Village, Mandrehe Sub-district, West Nias Regency. Cultivation of maggot, especially Black Soldier Fly (BSF) larvae, is one of the innovative solutions in reducing organic waste while increasing the economic value of the community. This study aims to analyze the participants' level of understanding of the maggot cultivation training material implemented by the Student Creativity Program (PKM) students through a questionnaire approach. The research used a quantitative descriptive method with 29 respondents who participated in the training. Data were collected through a five-point Likert scale questionnaire consisting of 10 statements related to material understanding and practical readiness. The results of the analysis showed that the majority of participants stated that the material was delivered clearly, interactively, and according to field needs. Most also expressed satisfaction with the activities and showed high interest in implementing maggot cultivation independently. However, there were a small number of participants who showed a neutral response or were not ready to practice directly. This finding confirms the importance of follow-up mentoring strategies to optimize the impact of the training. Overall, the training succeeded in increasing community literacy in maggot-based waste management and encouraging active participation in the application of local technology.

Abstract

is still limited to household consumption and fresh sales, resulting in low economic value. To increase the added value of coconuts and empower the community, training on Virgin Coconut Oil (VCO) production was conducted for 30 PKK members and 9 village officials. This activity was held on June 24, 2025, at the Simaeasi Village office, using lecture methods, direct practice, and technical assistance. The training covered all stages of VCO production, from coconut selection, grating, coconut milk pressing, fermentation, sedimentation, and the oil refining process. The training results showed that participants experienced a significant increase in knowledge and skills. From 5 mature coconuts, approximately 300 mL of VCO was produced with clear characteristics, coconut aroma, and not rancid. Economic simulations showed that the selling value of VCO is much higher than that of fresh coconuts. Thus, this training successfully increased the community's capacity in coconut processing and opened up new business opportunities based on home industries.
