Abstract

This Community Service activity aims to evaluate and implement low-smoke waste incinerator technology based on the rocket stove method as a solution to environmental pollution due to inefficient waste burning. This technology allows the waste burning process to be carried out at high temperatures efficiently, resulting in lower smoke emissions and is environmentally friendly. The main focus of the activity is to assist the residents of Bojong Loa Village in increasing waste management capacity through an educational and participatory approach. The methods used include environmental education, technical training, operational assistance, and the transfer of incineration technology to the community. The program is designed to produce a tool that is practical, energy-efficient, and easy to operate by citizens, with the hope that it can be widely adopted in rural environments. The implementation of activities was carried out intensively over a certain period, involving a team of academics and local partners as facilitators. The results of the activity show that the minimal-smoke incinerator has been successfully modified and available for public use. There has been a significant increase in the knowledge and skills of the residents of Bojong Loa Village in operating the equipment, which is shown through technical capabilities and an understanding of the principle of clean combustion. Another positive impact is the creation of a more effective waste management system, contributing to reducing air pollution levels and improving people's quality of life. This initiative proves that community service has a strategic role in introducing innovative and sustainable waste management technology. The success of this program opens up opportunities for replication in other regions, as well as encouraging collaboration between academics, government, and society in realizing a cleaner and healthier environment.

Abstract

This community service program aims to promote administrative digitalization and enhance digital literacy as a catalyst for innovative and sustainable public services in Beluk Kenek Village, Sumenep Regency. The village has faced several challenges, such as manual administrative processes that hinder service efficiency, low levels of digital literacy among government officials and residents, and a limited understanding of the long-term benefits of digitalization. To address these issues, the program was implemented in three stages: planning, execution, and evaluation. The planning stage included online meetings, problem identification, and mapping of administrative needs. During the execution stage, a prototype of the digital village website was developed, along with the preparation of training materials tailored to the needs of both officials and the community. The evaluation stage focused on assessing system usability, collecting feedback, and ensuring readiness for further implementation. Preliminary results indicate strong support and commitment from village officials, successful development of a digital village website prototype, and readiness for upcoming digital literacy training sessions. This initiative is expected to increase transparency in governance, improve the efficiency of administrative services, and encourage greater community participation in the digital era. Furthermore, the program can serve as a replicable model for other villages, contributing to broader rural digital transformation and sustainable community development.

Abstract

The Eco-Paving-Based Plastic Waste Recycling Innovation Improvement Activity in Babakanlor Village, Cikedal District, Pandeglang Regency, is part of a community service program aimed at increasing local understanding of eco-paving innovations for recycling plastic waste, contributing to a green economy in the village. With the growing plastic waste issue, there is a need for environmentally friendly yet economically valuable management innovations. This program focuses on developing eco-paving-based plastic recycling in Babakanlor Village to promote a green economy at the village level. The method employed is participatory, involving the community through socialization, technical training, and evaluation of eco-paving results. Household plastic waste is processed into eco-friendly paving blocks through shredding, mixing with sand and oil, printing, and compaction. The resulting eco-paving products meet construction standards, reduce plastic waste, and create new business opportunities based on the circular economy. The program's results indicate an increase in community skills, a reduction in plastic waste, and job creation within the village. Thus, eco-paving innovation based on plastic recycling is a strategic approach to overcoming environmental pollution and promoting a sustainable green economy in Babakanlor Village.

Abstract

This study discusses efforts to utilize rice straw waste as a raw material for briquette production, aimed at improving the economy of the community in Tanjung Qencono Village, East Lampung. The majority of the village's population works as farmers, whose income is still hampered by various factors such as low crop prices and pest attacks. Transforming rice straw waste into alternative briquettes is an innovative solution that optimizes local resources while producing economically valuable products. The methods used include site studies, research on production equipment, community training, and outreach on briquette utilization. Briquette production is adjusted to the harvest and planting seasons, with quality evaluated based on product density, moisture, and strength. The results show that the rice straw briquettes have good characteristics and competitive selling points. Community participation in the training strengthened understanding of environmentally friendly briquette production and use. Another positive impact is seen in reducing wood use, supporting environmental conservation and sustainability. This study concludes that the use of rice straw as a raw material for briquettes has the potential to be an economically and ecologically sound solution, strengthening community welfare and preserving the environment in the village. Further development efforts are strongly recommended to increase yields and achieve sustainable positive impacts.

Abstract

Bullying is a social problem that can negatively impact children’s psychological well-being, emotional stability, and social development, especially if it is not identified and addressed at an early stage. Exposure to bullying during childhood may lead to long-term consequences such as low self-esteem, academic difficulties, social withdrawal, and even mental health issues. Therefore, preventive efforts are crucial to equip children with knowledge, awareness, and coping strategies. This community service activity was carried out through the Perma Curug Community Reading Garden (TBM) in Serang City with the primary goal of educating and supporting young children in preventing bullying. The methods used included interactive counseling sessions where children were introduced to the concept of bullying, its forms, and its harmful effects; educational games that helped children engage with the material in a fun and memorable way; and small group discussions that encouraged children to share their thoughts and experiences while practicing empathy and respect. The results of the activity indicated an increase in children’s awareness and understanding regarding the importance of respecting others, recognizing bullying behaviors, and the need to report or resist such actions. Moreover, the program also fostered a sense of togetherness and cooperation among participants. This initiative is expected to be a starting point for instilling anti-bullying values from an early age, while at the same time encouraging families, educators, and the wider community to actively contribute to creating a safe, supportive, and positive environment for children’s growth and development

Abstract

Community Service Program (KKN) is a form of student service to the community that embodies the tangible contribution of higher education institutions to regional development. This activity is not only oriented towards the application of theories learned in the classroom, but also towards direct experience in the midst of a community rich in social, economic, and cultural dynamics. Through KKN, students learn to understand real issues while striving to provide useful and sustainable solutions. This study focuses on the implementation of KKN in Taman Negeri Village, Way Bungur District, East Lampung Regency. The main program carried out was the creation of hamlet signboards as a step to strengthen regional identity and increase community mobility. The implementation method used a participatory approach, whereby KKN students involved village officials, community leaders, and local residents in the planning, implementation, and evaluation stages. This collaboration made the activities more relevant to the real needs of the community while fostering a sense of ownership of the results achieved. The results of the study show that the installation of hamlet signboards not only facilitates access and movement between areas but also strengthens the identity of the village through a clearer and more structured layout. The signboards give the village a positive image, presenting it as a well-organized and easily accessible area. Thus, KKN has proven to play a strategic role as a means of community empowerment, strengthening cultural identity, fostering cooperation between students and residents, and supporting the realization of sustainable and inclusive village development.

Abstract

Blood pressure is one of the non-communicable diseases that has become a global public health issue, as it often presents without symptoms but can lead to serious complications. Physical activities such as low-impact aerobic exercise have been proven to gradually and safely help reduce blood pressure, particularly in adults and the elderly. This study aims to determine the effect of low-impact aerobic exercise on blood pressure among residents of Kampung Bendung RT.04/RW.02, Bendung Subdistrict, Kasemen District, Serang City. The research used a quantitative approach with a pre-experimental design: one group pre-test and post-test. The study was conducted over five weeks with exercise sessions held once a week. The sample consisted of 20 women aged over 30 who participated regularly in the exercise sessions. Blood pressure measurements were taken before (pre-test) and after (post-test) the intervention using a digital sphygmomanometer. Data analysis using the Wilcoxon test showed a significant difference in blood pressure before and after the exercise, with a p-value of 0.000 (p < 0.05) for both systolic and diastolic pressure. The average systolic blood pressure decreased from 128.42 mmHg to 123.19 mmHg, and the diastolic pressure from 82.66 mmHg to 78.27 mmHg. It can be concluded that low-impact aerobic exercise is effective in lowering blood pressure and can be used as a preventive physical activity alternative for individuals at risk of hypertension.

Abstract

The low reading interest among Indonesian children remains a significant challenge that hinders literacy development and reduces the competitiveness of future generations. Ketapang Village, located in Susukan Sub-district, Semarang Regency, is one of the rural areas struggling with limited access to books and the lack of proper literacy facilities. To address this issue, the Community Service Program (Kuliah Kerja Nyata) initiated by university students developed the Lentera Baca Desa program, aiming to establish a child-friendly literacy park accessible to the entire community. The program was implemented through several stages: collecting and managing books obtained from the National Library, organizing a reading space within the Babussalam Mosque area of Kwangsan Hamlet, and officially inaugurating the literacy park in collaboration with local residents. The outcomes indicate that the literacy park not only provides access to reading materials but also creates a conducive and supportive environment that fosters children’s reading interest and strengthens community involvement in educational development. Furthermore, the program highlights that the sustainability and effectiveness of literacy promotion in rural areas rely more on active community participation, collective responsibility, and continuous management efforts rather than solely on the availability of book collections. This initiative demonstrates that grassroots collaboration can be a practical solution to improve literacy culture in underserved areas.
