Abstract

The career development of adolescents requires an accurate understanding of their potential, interests, and appropriate educational pathways; however, many students at SMPN 2 Cisalak still choose their next level of schooling without careful consideration due to limited access to career information. To address this issue, Guidance and Counseling students of Universitas Pendidikan Indonesia implemented a career planning education program based on Mind-Mapping and the RIASEC approach on August 15, 2025, involving 22 ninth-grade students as participants. The program employed educational socialization methods to introduce fundamental concepts of career planning, group discussions to explore students’ perceptions and experiences, Mind-Mapping activities to help them identify their strengths and educational goals, and the RIASEC assessment as an instrument to identify their interests and personality tendencies related to careers. The results of the Mind-Mapping and RIASEC assessments indicated diverse career interests, with dominant tendencies in the Social, Artistic, and Realistic types. Overall, this program enhanced students’ career awareness, self-confidence, and their ability to plan further education, while also providing a foundation for the school to develop more systematic and sustainable career guidance services.

Abstract

This community service program aims to provide assistance in managing Produk Industri Rumah Tangga (PIRT) as an effort to strengthen culinary Usaha Mikro, Kecil, dan Menengah (UMKM) in Kalipucung Educational Tourism Hamlet, Semarang Regency. Kalipucung Hamlet is a fostered village that produces local products made from palm sugar, ginger, and various mushroom products. Most of these products do not yet have distribution permits and their marketing is still limited to the village area and Jambu District. Field analysis revealed two main problems: the lack of understanding among UMKM regarding the function of PIRT as a food safety guarantee and the lack of knowledge regarding PIRT governance. The community service program was implemented in two stages: increasing UMKM knowledge about the importance of PIRT and assistance in the process of managing food safety permits. The methods used included socialization of traditional culinary conservation and understanding of PIRT regulations. Work procedures included team formation, goal formulation, needs identification, solution prioritization, preparation, implementation, mentoring, and evaluation. The results of the activity showed that low interest in traditional culinary, especially among the younger generation, was influenced by unattractive packaging, limited flavor variations, and minimal promotion. Therefore, local culinary conservation needs to be strengthened through PIRT assistance to improve security, legality, and business opportunities, while also supporting the development of tourist villages.

Abstract

The "Duduk Bacarita" Communication Workshop was organized as a response to the need for effective interpersonal communication to strengthen social cohesion in the multicultural society of Maluku. This program aims to improve participants' skills in managing misunderstandings, resolving disagreements, and enhancing emotional regulation through an approach rooted in local culture. The workshop was held in Dusun Kotania Bawah over two sessions, using lecture, demonstration, and interactive discussion methods, followed by Bacarita practice sessions as an egalitarian dialogue model. Observations showed improvements in participants' communication behavior, such as the courage to express opinions, active listening skills, and empathy in conversations. Additionally, interactions among participants became more fluid and inclusive in accordance with the principles of Bacarita, which emphasize respect for others' opinions and feelings. These findings support social dialogue theory and demonstrate that a culturally rooted approach, such as Bacarita, is effective in improving interpersonal communication. The success of this workshop indicates that local traditions can be a relevant strategy for conflict prevention and strengthening social cohesion in community empowerment programs. The workshop proves that local culture, when applied to communication, can foster more harmonious relationships in diverse communities.

Abstract

This study aims to describe the role of Community Service Program (KKN) students in implementing digital marketing communication as a strategy to empower ginger chips micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs) in Karang Anyer Village, Simalungun Regency. The background of this research is the low utilization of digital communication technology in promoting local products, which has resulted in MSMEs relying mainly on traditional marketing practices. This research employed a descriptive qualitative method with data collected through observation, in-depth interviews with MSME actors and KKN students, and documentation.The findings reveal that KKN students act as facilitators, companions, and innovators in introducing digital marketing communication strategies through the use of social media, online marketplaces, and locally based promotional content. Their role has contributed to improving digital communication skills, expanding market reach, and strengthening the brand image of ginger chips as a competitive local product.In conclusion, the involvement of KKN students not only provides practical contributions to the development of ginger chips MSMEs but also strengthens the community’s digital communication capacity in a sustainable manner.

Abstract

This Community Service Program (PkM) aims to strengthen the branding of MSME Putri Manja in Balikpapan through a structured intervention based on the Nurance Framework. The program addresses major challenges for MSME Putri Manja, including simple packaging designs and suboptimal digital marketing content quality, which hinder competitiveness in the online market. The implementation integrated three core solutions: innovative repackaging, AI-based digital visual training, and social media optimization. The implementation was guided by the Nurance Framework, which upholds the value of "Care" (Kepedulian) and is structured into Conception, Direction, Immersion, and Perception dimensions. The repackaging successfully transformed the product image from a simple home industry to a competitive local brand with a higher selling value. Furthermore, the AI-based digital visual training (using Gemini AI and Chat GPT) effectively increased the digital capacity of the MSME partners. This is evidenced by a significant increase in the average post-test score by 31.3 points (from 55.6 to 86.9) among 25 participants, demonstrating a marked improvement in knowledge and skills in utilizing AI for promotional needs. In conclusion, this program successfully presented a practical implementation model combining physical product improvement and AI technology, which is expected to enhance the competitiveness, market reach, and sales of MSME Putri Manja.

Abstract

The Community Service Program (KKN) in Tanah Merah Village, Serdang Bedagai Regency, aims to enhance the visibility of Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) by utilizing Google Maps as a digital promotional tool. In this village, many MSMEs face challenges due to low digital literacy, which hinders their ability to leverage technology for marketing their products. Through the KKN program, students conducted surveys, initial socialization, and hands-on training on using Google Maps and Google Business Profile for MSME owners. The results show that MSME owners gained a better understanding of digital marketing, especially in using Google Maps. They experienced significant benefits from the easy access it provided for consumers to find their business locations, leading to an increase in customers. Additionally, using Google Business Profile helped boost their credibility among consumers. This KKN program plays a crucial role in empowering MSMEs to adapt to digital technology, expand their market reach, and enhance their business competitiveness. With this support, MSMEs in Tanah Merah Village are now capable of managing their business profiles independently and are better prepared to face the challenges of an increasingly digital market.

Abstract

Micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs), including those engaged in cassava chip production, play a significant role in the Indonesian economy. However, many MSMEs encounter difficulties in determining the factors that can support their success and designing strategies to remain competitive. This study explores the cassava chip producer “Nek Surati” through an analysis of marketing, technical, and operational aspects. The method used in this study is qualitative-descriptive with a case study approach involving in-depth interviews. The findings from this study indicate that the company has high sustainability potential, thanks to efficient product management, product variety, and operational efficiency. However, issues such as commodity price fluctuations and dependence on the harvest season remain challenges that need to be addressed. Strategies to overcome risks, including commodity inventory management and the development of digital marketing methods, were found to be the main solutions. With the implementation of risk management and optimization of marketing strategies, this business shows bright prospects for growth and contribution to the development of the Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises sector.

Abstract

Community service is a concrete manifestation of the role of higher education institutions in disseminating knowledge and instilling noble values ​​in the wider community. This article describes the application of Islamic economic values ​​in the implementation of the Student Community Service Program (KKN) of the State Islamic University of North Sumatra, held in Naga Raja Village, Sipispis District, Serdang Bedagai Regency. Using a participatory approach, students were actively involved in community economic activities by integrating the principles of justice, honesty, cooperation, and empowerment as the main foundation. Various activities were carried out to raise public awareness of economic practices in accordance with Islamic values, such as ethical micro-enterprise management, the habituation of wise consumption patterns, and the introduction of a sharia-based financial system. The results of the program implementation showed an increase in community understanding and positive attitudes toward Islamic economic concepts, especially in efforts to strengthen economic independence and improve family welfare. Furthermore, community involvement in joint activities also strengthened social solidarity and a sense of collective responsibility. This article emphasizes the importance of the sustainability of Islamic value-based community service programs that are not only educational but also able to encourage sustainable community economic empowerment and oriented towards social justice.

Abstract

The Community Service Program (KKN) implemented in Raya Village, Dusun IV, Berastagi, focused on community economic development through integrated work programs initiated by the Faculty of Economics. These programs included mentoring Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs), implementing the “Gambling to Save” initiative to promote financial literacy, and facilitating MSME registration on Google Maps as a digital marketing strategy. These activities aimed to empower the local community by improving product innovation, strengthening entrepreneurial skills, enhancing financial management capabilities, and expanding the marketing reach of high-value MSMEs. The methodology employed consisted of structured financial management training to encourage a sustainable saving culture, continuous business management mentoring, and promotional optimization through Google Maps registration and digital presence management. As a result, MSME actors gained better visibility, accessibility, and competitiveness in broader markets. Additionally, the program successfully increased community awareness of local economic potential as a sustainable resource that can support long-term economic resilience and inclusive rural development.

Abstract

This study examines the influence of trust and ease of use on the interest of MSMEs in Telaga Jernih Village in adopting QRIS (Quick Response Code Indonesian Standard) as a digital payment tool. In the era of rapid economic digitalization, QRIS facilitates non-cash transactions while increasing trust and efficiency in business management. The research method used a literature study and the implementation of Community Service Program (KKN) involving socialization and mentoring on the use of QRIS and Google Maps as MSME promotional tools. The results show that MSMEs are beginning to understand the benefits of digital technology in increasing the effectiveness and competitiveness of their businesses. Trust in system security and ease of use are the main factors in increasing interest in QRIS adoption among MSMEs in the village. This study provides implications for stakeholders to support the digital transformation of MSMEs through continuous training and socialization.
