Abstract

Gold mining activities often generate significant socio-economic transformations within agrarian communities. This study aims to analyze changes in community livelihoods, the impact of gold mining productivity on the sustainability of rice farming, changes in farmers’ income before and after entering the mining sector, and the broader social impacts of mining activities in Kayuboko Village, West Parigi District, Parigi Moutong Regency, Central Sulawesi. A descriptive qualitative approach was employed using observation, semi-structured interviews, and documentation as data collection techniques. Research informants consisted of village officials, rice farmers, and mine workers selected purposively. Data were analyzed using the Miles and Huberman interactive model, including data reduction, data display, and conclusion drawing. The findings reveal that the livelihood transformation of rice farmers did not occur through a complete occupational shift but rather through an adaptive strategy involving the allocation of household time and labor between farming and mining activities. The decline in rice-field management was driven more by labor reallocation and shifting household priorities than by direct physical land degradation. Mining activities increased household income and created new economic opportunities; however, these gains were highly fluctuating and posed long-term sustainability risks. Furthermore, younger generations demonstrated a declining interest in agriculture, indicating a potential farmer succession crisis in the future. The study highlights that mining can undermine agricultural sustainability not only through ecological degradation but also through socio-economic mechanisms, including competition for household labor allocation and the erosion of social capital based on mutual cooperation

Abstract

Teacher work motivation plays a fundamental role in improving instructional quality and achieving educational objectives. Nevertheless, low teacher motivation remains evident despite the implementation of academic supervision and the establishment of supportive organizational cultures in schools. This study aimed to examine the effects of academic supervision and organizational culture on teachers' work motivation at public junior high schools in Siak Hulu District, Kampar Regency. A quantitative correlational research design was employed. The sample consisted of 88 teachers selected through probability sampling using the Slovin formula from a population of 113 teachers. Data were collected using validated and reliable five-point Likert-scale questionnaires and analyzed through multiple linear regression using IBM SPSS version 26. The findings revealed that academic supervision had a positive and significant effect on teachers' work motivation (β = 0.412; t = 4.872; p < 0.001). Organizational culture also demonstrated a positive and significant influence on work motivation (β = 0.365; t = 3.965; p < 0.001). Simultaneously, both variables significantly affected teacher motivation (F = 38.721; p < 0.001) and explained 46.8% of the variance in work motivation (R² = 0.468). These findings indicate that collaborative academic supervision combined with a supportive organizational culture constitutes an effective managerial strategy for strengthening teachers' work motivation and enhancing the overall quality of educational services

Abstract

This study examines the jidāl method in the dialogue between Prophet Musa and Prophet Khidir in QS. Al-Kahfi [18]: 60–82 and its relevance to contemporary digital literacy challenges. Employing a qualitative library research approach, this study analyzes Qur’anic verses, classical and contemporary tafsir literature, as well as scholarly works on digital literacy, misinformation, and information ethics. The findings reveal that the jidāl method in the Musa–Khidir narrative is not merely a form of dialogue but an epistemological process that cultivates intellectual humility, contextual understanding, critical inquiry, and epistemic patience. The narrative demonstrates that premature judgments often arise from limited information and inadequate contextualization, conditions that closely resemble the mechanisms through which misinformation and hoaxes spread in digital environments. Through a Maqashid Syariah perspective, particularly the principle of ḥifẓ al-‘aql, the study argues that the narrative contributes to the preservation and development of human intellect by encouraging verification, reflective thinking, and wisdom-oriented judgment. Based on these findings, the study formulates a Qur’anic Digital Literacy Model consisting of three interconnected stages: verification (tabayyun and tatsabbut), clarification through constructive dialogue (jidāl ḥakīm), and transformation toward wisdom (ḥikmah). The study contributes theoretically to the intersection of Qur’anic studies, Maqashid Syariah, and digital literacy scholarship while providing practical insights for developing ethical and responsible information behavior in the digital age.

Abstract

The moral degradation of Indonesian adolescents is a persistent problem that cannot be resolved solely through cognitive-based Islamic religious education (PAI). This study aims to analyze the internalization process of Islamic values through SIRAJA school culture, identify the values embedded within it, explain its role in forming students' religious character, and identify the factors influencing the process. Employing a qualitative single case study design, data were gathered through in-depth interviews with 14 informants comprising educators, students, and school administrators, as well as observation and documentation, analyzed using source triangulation. Results show that internalization proceeds through four successive stages: value transmission, habituation, exemplary modeling, and reinforcement. SIRAJA's six pillars (Polite, Innovative, Resilient, Adaptive, Honest, and Trust) are integrated across all subjects and school activities, contributing to the formation of a value ecosystem that extends the scope of the formal curriculum. Success is supported by structured institutional planning, teacher modeling, and a conducive school environment. This study contributes to Islamic education scholarship by demonstrating that value internalization becomes more systematic when school culture is institutionally constructed with a self-designed identity, named pillars, and a sustainable evaluation mechanism rather than relying solely on generic religious practices.

Abstract

This study is motivated by the growing importance of school branding as a strategic approach to strengthening public trust amid increasing competition among educational institutions. Nevertheless, many public schools in semi-rural areas continue to struggle to develop a strong institutional image because branding is often perceived as seasonal promotional activities rather than a long-term strategic process. This study aims to analyze the principal's strategies for strengthening school branding at UPT SMP Negeri 3 Kampar, identify supporting and inhibiting factors, and formulate an appropriate branding model for public schools in semi-rural contexts. A qualitative case study approach was employed. Data were collected through in-depth interviews, participant observation, and document analysis involving the principal, vice principals, teachers, public relations personnel, and parents. Data were analyzed using the Miles, Huberman, and Saldaña interactive model, including data reduction, data display, and conclusion drawing, supported by triangulation and member checking to ensure credibility. The findings reveal that school branding is strengthened through teacher professionalism, religious and character-based school culture, optimization of visual identity, intensive use of digital media, and the principal's relational engagement with the local community. These integrated strategies successfully enhanced public trust, reflected in the significant increase in student enrollment during the 2025/2026 academic year. The novelty of this study lies in proposing a hybrid school branding model that integrates local social capital, adaptive leadership, school culture, and digital communication to improve the competitiveness of public schools in semi-rural areas through a sustainable and community-oriented approach.

Abstract

Efforts to shape students' inclusive attitudes tend to focus on structural approaches, such as multicultural integration and religious moderation policies. However, this study shows that Islamic Religious Education (IRE) learning approaches also play a role in shaping these attitudes. This study aims to analyze the application of Mindful Learning in Islamic Religious Education (IRE) learning, explain the process of developing students' inclusive attitudes, and describe its application in social interactions at SMP Negeri 10 Salatiga. This study used a qualitative approach with a case study and a single case embedded Yin design. Data were obtained through observation, interviews, and documentation involving Islamic Religious Education (IRE) teachers, Muslim students, and non-Muslim students. Data were analyzed using pattern matching, explanation building, and rival explanation examination techniques. The results show that Mindful Learning is implemented through adjustments to teaching modules, mauidhoh hasanah, personal approaches, uswah hasanah, perspective-taking activities, and dialogue spaces. This process shapes inclusive attitudes through Islamic Religious Education (IRE) learning, school policies, and students' daily interactions, which are evident in tolerance, mutual assistance, cooperation, and the ability to resolve conflicts independently. The novelty of this study lies in the role of Mindful Learning in teachers' responses to students' needs, the internalization of students' values, and the role of students as active actors in building an inclusive environment. Thus, Islamic Education learning that encourages awareness and reflection is one way to foster an inclusive attitude

Abstract

This study is situated within the discourse of educational management, particularly teacher work discipline in relation to the use of digital-based attendance information systems and work motivation. The research problem is grounded in the continued presence of delays in task completion, suboptimal lesson planning, delayed implementation of evaluation, and irregular teacher attendance in school activities. This study aims to analyze the effect of digital-based attendance information systems and work motivation on teacher work discipline at public senior high schools in Kulim District, Pekanbaru, both partially and simultaneously. This research employed a quantitative approach using a survey method. Data were collected through questionnaires distributed to 129 teachers and educational staff at SMAN 10 Pekanbaru and SMAN 11 Pekanbaru using a census technique. The novelty of this study lies in its integrated examination of technological and psychological factors in explaining teacher work discipline, whereas previous studies have generally discussed digital attendance systems and work motivation separately. The results show that the digital-based attendance information system has a positive and significant effect on teacher work discipline, with a regression coefficient of 0.333. Work motivation also has a positive and significant effect, with a stronger regression coefficient of 0.601. Simultaneously, both variables have a significant effect, with an Fcount value of 42.990 and a contribution of 40.6%. Academically, these findings strengthen educational management studies by showing that teacher discipline is not only shaped by technology-based monitoring, but also by motivational factors that drive professional responsibility. Therefore, the development of teacher work discipline requires an integrated management approach that combines effective digital supervision with the strengthening of work motivation.

Abstract

Public speaking anxiety remains a persistent challenge for English as a Foreign Language (EFL) learners, limiting their ability to communicate effectively in academic settings. Although various interventions have been proposed to address this issue, limited attention has been given to integrating rhetorical modeling within a blended mentoring framework that combines cognitive guidance with continuous affective support. This study therefore investigates the potential of blended mentoring enriched with rhetorical modeling to reduce public speaking anxiety among junior secondary EFL students. A pre-experimental one-group pre-test and post-test design was employed involving nine students selected through purposive sampling. The intervention consisted of face-to-face mentoring sessions complemented by asynchronous video-based feedback delivered through messaging platforms. Public speaking anxiety was measured using an adapted anxiety scale before and after the intervention, and the data were analyzed using a paired-sample t-test. The results revealed a statistically significant reduction in students’ anxiety levels (p < 0.001), with the mean score decreasing from 78.44 to 64.11. The calculated effect size (Cohen’s d = 2.37) indicated a very large practical effect. These findings provide preliminary evidence that a blended mentoring approach integrating rhetorical modeling may contribute to reducing public speaking anxiety by supporting learners through continuous feedback, guided rehearsal, and structured speech organization. The study contributes to the EFL speaking literature by proposing a process-oriented mentoring framework that integrates rhetorical modeling with blended feedback to simultaneously address the cognitive and affective dimensions of public speaking. Further research employing controlled experimental designs is recommended to confirm these findings

Abstract

Digitalization of Islamic education often prioritizes technical efficiency over spiritual authenticity, creating a tension between technological demands and the preservation of talaqqi and sanad traditions in Qur'anic learning. This article examines the strategic management of digitalization within the Qur'anic Recitation Development Program (PPTQ) at Ma'had al-Jami'ah, UIN Siber Syekh Nurjati Cirebon. A qualitative case study was conducted involving 25 participants (program leaders, managers, five tutors, and fifteen students) through semi-structured interviews, passive observation, and document analysis. Data were analyzed using Miles, Huberman, and Saldaña's framework with Mintzberg's Five-P Strategy. Six main findings emerged: digitalization improves administrative efficiency and learning flexibility; data-driven management enhances program effectiveness; students' recitation quality increases significantly; talaqqi and sanad remain irreplaceable; digitalization is perceived as a means (wasilah) not an end (ghayah); and spiritual concentration declines during online sessions. The study contributes a novel Hybrid Sanad-Based Digital Management model that integrates Mintzberg's Five-P Strategy with Qur'anic values through a three-layer hierarchical structure (Qur'anic values as strategic foundation, talaqqi as core pedagogical authority, and digital as supporting infrastructure). This model demonstrates that technology can strengthen, rather than weaken, traditional Qur'anic pedagogy when properly bounded by epistemological and affective-spiritual limits. These findings challenge the dominant dichotomous assumption that technology and tradition must be opposed, offering an integrative framework for Qur'anic learning digitalization that preserves sanad and adab in the digital era
