Abstract

This study examines the optimization of digital media in Islamic Religious Education (PAI) to enhance joyful learning at SMK YPM Bojonegoro. The main problem addressed in this research is the low level of student engagement due to teacher-centered learning practices. This study aims to analyze the role of digital media integration in creating an interactive, meaningful, and enjoyable learning environment. This issue is important given the growing need for innovative learning strategies that align with advances in educational technology. This research employs a qualitative case study design, using observation, interviews, and documentation as data collection techniques. The findings reveal that the use of digital media such as multimedia, interactive platforms, and audiovisual content is able to create a more enjoyable, engaging, and active classroom atmosphere. It also helps students better understand the material, provides more varied learning experiences, improves teacher–student relationships, encourages active participation, and enhances students’ understanding of PAI content. This study contributes to the development of innovative, technology-based teaching strategies in Islamic education. In conclusion, optimising digital media is essential for transforming learning into a more engaging, student-centred process and for improving both cognitive and affective learning outcomes.

Abstract

The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of learning facilities and infrastructure on students' learning motivation. This study was conducted at SD Islam Terpadu Persis, Palu City. The approach used in this study was quantitative research with an associative design. In this study, the data collection methods used were questionnaires, observation, and documentation. The research sample consisted of 48 students selected through stratified random sampling techniques. The results of the hypothesis test showed that the significance value <0.05 H0 was rejected and Ha was accepted. Based on the hypothesis test, it can be concluded that there is an influence between learning facilities and infrastructure on students' learning motivation. Hypothesis proof was carried out using a T-test. This is shown in the t-table value, t count = 5.420 > t table = 2.012 so it can be said to be significant. Furthermore, the results of the determination coefficient test = 0.390 indicate that learning facilities and infrastructure contribute 39% to students' learning motivation, while the remaining 61% is influenced by other factors. The conclusion of this study states that there is a significant relationship between the influence of learning facilities and infrastructure on students' learning motivation at Persis Integrated Islamic Elementary School, Palu City

Abstract

This study examines the dynamics of principal leadership and its relationship with teacher performance within the framework of educational management at the elementary school level. The focus of the study is how principal leadership practices shape the quality of teacher performance at SDN 15 Rio Pakava and SDN 8 Rio Pakava, Donggala Regency. This study employed a quantitative approach with a correlational design. Data were collected through questionnaires, structured observations, and documentation involving all 22 teachers as research respondents. Hypothesis testing was conducted using simple linear regression analysis. The results showed that principal leadership had a positive and significant effect on teacher performance, with a significance value of 0.000 < 0.05 and a regression coefficient of 0.806. The coefficient of determination (R²) of 0.869 indicates that principal leadership contributed 86.9% to the variation in teacher performance. This study emphasizes the importance of strengthening principal leadership as a strategy to improve the quality of basic education and teacher performance.

Abstract

This study aims to analyse the implementation of the Literacy Journal programme in strengthening students’ reading interest at SMP Islam Plus Al-Ikhlas Taqwa Medan. This research employed a qualitative method with a case study approach. The data sources consisted of the principal, vice principal, and students. Data were collected through observation, interviews, and documentation, while data validity was ensured through triangulation techniques. The findings reveal that the Literacy Journal programme was designed as a routine literacy habituation activity requiring students to read books daily and record the results of their reading in a literacy journal. The programme is supported by weekly literacy activities known as Kamis Literasi, where students present and reflect on the books they have read. The study shows that the programme contributes positively to strengthening students’ reading interest, improving communication skills, expanding vocabulary mastery, and fostering critical thinking abilities. In addition, the integration of English writing within the literacy journal reflects efforts to develop global literacy competencies among students. However, several challenges were identified, including limited library facilities, students’ dishonesty in filling out journals, and insufficient parental involvement. Therefore, collaboration between schools and families is essential to support the sustainability and effectiveness of literacy programs in developing students’ reading culture and educational quality

Abstract

This study aims to analyse the role of Madrasatul Qur’an Islamic Boarding School Tebuireng, Jombang, in shaping hāmil al-Qur’ān individuals through three main dimensions: lafẓan (memorisation), ma’nan (understanding), and ‘amalan (practice). This research employed a qualitative approach with a descriptive design. Data were collected through in-depth interviews, participatory observation, and documentation and analysed using Miles and Huberman's interactive model, including data reduction, data display, and conclusion drawing. Data validity was ensured through source and method triangulation. The findings reveal that the pesantren plays a significant role in developing hāmil al-Qur’ān students in an integrative manner. The lafẓan dimension is implemented through structured tahfiz learning based on talaqqi, memorisation, submission, and repetition (muroja’ah), with an emphasis on accurate recitation according to tajwid rules. The ma’nan dimension is developed through tafsir studies, ulūmul Qur’an, and Arabic language reinforcement, enabling students to understand Qur’anic meanings contextually. Meanwhile, the ‘amalan dimension is internalised through habituation of worship, role modeling, and pesantren culture, which shape Qur’anic character. The novelty of this study lies in the construction of an integrative hāmil al-Qur’ān development model that connects memorisation, understanding, and practice within a holistic and sustainable educational system.

Abstract

The low level of students’ understanding in Islamic religious education has often been attributed to the influence of digital technology; however, this study reveals that the primary issue lies in the inadequacy of pedagogical approaches employed in the learning process. This study aims to analyse the role of the deep learning approach as a transformative pedagogical framework in enhancing conceptual understanding and the internalisation of religious values among Generation Alpha learners. The significance of this research is grounded in the mismatch between conventional teacher-centred learning and the characteristics of Generation Alpha, who require interactive, reflective, and contextual learning experiences. This research adopts a qualitative approach, using a library research method to analyse relevant scholarly sources. It assumes that meaningful, mindful, and student-centred learning can foster deeper understanding. The findings indicate that the deep learning approach effectively transforms learning from memorisation into meaningful understanding through reflective activities, active participation, and contextual engagement. This study contributes by positioning deep learning as a comprehensive pedagogical paradigm in Islamic religious education. Therefore, transforming instructional design is essential to improving students’ understanding in the digital era.

Abstract

: This study examines the historical establishment and development of Madrasah Aliyah Alkhairaat Parigi from 1990 to 2025 within the socio-religious context of Islamic education in Central Sulawesi. The research was motivated by the important role of Alkhairaat institutions in expanding Islamic education in Eastern Indonesia and the limited scholarly attention given to the local history of Madrasah Aliyah Alkhairaat Parigi. This study employed a qualitative historical research approach using heuristics, source criticism, interpretation, and historiography. Data were collected through in-depth interviews with founders, school leaders, and historical actors, as well as field observations and institutional documentation. The findings reveal that the establishment of Madrasah Aliyah Alkhairaat Parigi in 1990 was driven by the urgent educational needs of the Muslim community in Parigi Moutong Regency and supported by collective participation from religious leaders and local society. The madrasah developed gradually despite limited facilities and financial resources during its early years. Over time, the institution became an important center for Islamic education, moral formation, and community empowerment. The study also demonstrates that the madrasah played a significant role in preserving Alkhairaat educational traditions, strengthening Islamic identity, and improving educational access in Central Sulawesi. This research contributes to the historiography of Islamic education by highlighting the importance of local Islamic institutions in educational and socio-cultural transformation within Indonesian Muslim society
