Organic fertilizer is very important in efforts to improve soil fertility naturally and safely, in the broadest sense of being free from chemicals that are harmful to human health, therefore this organic fertilizer is very safe for consumption. This research was carried out in a housing complex on Jl. Tombak, Medan Tembung District, Medan City, North Sumatra. The research method used in this research is the experimental and observation method. The aim of this research is to determine the content of organic fertilizer made from mixed waste of onion skins and garlic skins with used rice water washing. And the results of the research that has been carried out show that the organic fertilizer that the researchers made failed due to several factors, such as perhaps there being onion skins that had rotted and should not be used and also the fermentation process time was too long, so it did not meet the required standards. Apart from that, when filtering to remove onion skin waste, the liquid fertilizer the researchers made smelled pungent and rotten.

The Al Jabbar Grand Mosque, located in Bandung, West Java Province, has a land area of 26 Ha, which is surrounded by a lake and various types of plants in it. Data regarding the types of plants found in the Al Jabbar Grand Mosque area is still minimal, so it is important to package it in the form of an inventory. Plants have various benefits, one of which is as a phytoremediation agent. This research aims to inventory plants in the Al Jabbar Grand Mosque area and their potential as phytoremediation agents based on literature studies. The method used is a qualitative approach method where observations are carried out and interviews are carried out with informants using a purposive sampling method. The data obtained was analyzed with reference to journals and books. The research results showed that there were 80 plant species, from 68 plant genera and from 37 family. There are 11 plant species that have the potential to act as phytoremediation agents in the Al Jabbar Grand Mosque area.

The Garryaceae family is referred to as one of the Cornaceae groups or dicotyledonous plants. Garrya is an evergreen shrub or small tree that bears male flowers. Garraceae is also a shrub that contains alkaloids. Aucuba japonica or what is often referred to as Japanese Laurel is a shrub with unique colored leaves that have spots. Research on the Garryaceae family is still rare, therefore researchers conducted research on the Garryaceae family, especially on the Aucuba japonica species. This research was conducted to analyze the characteristics of the leaves and stems of Aucuba japonica in the Cibiru District area, Bandung City, especially at the Biological Gardens of UIN Sunan Gunung Djati Bandung. This analysis was carried out using exploration methods and literature studies related to Aucuba japonica. The research results showed that there were 37 Aucuba japonica species in the biological garden area of UIN Sunang Gunung Djati Bandung. The characteristic shape of the leaves is oval or elliptical with tapered or blunt tips. The edges of the leaves have a serrated or curved shape with wavy edges. The base of the leaves is round or tapered. The arrangement of the leaves has pinnate veins that branch and spread throughout the leaf blade. the flesh of the leaves is thick and leathery. The surface of the leaves is shiny and smooth, while the stem has woody characteristics (lignosus), the surface of the stem is rough and has a hard texture. Aucuba japonica stems have sympodial branching.

Butterfly pea (Clitoria ternatea L.) is a type of ornamental plant characterized by flowers in shades of purple, blue, pink, and white. Besides being an ornamental plant, butterfly pea is also commonly used in traditional medicine. Several previous studies have confirmed its health benefits. Therefore, it is necessary to conduct phytochemical screening for flavonoids, saponins, and alkaloids using the Wilstater method, foam test, Dragendorff’s reagent, and Wagner's test. This study demonstrates the presence of flavonoid, saponin, and alkaloid compounds in butterfly pea flowers, indicated by positive results in various tests conducted.

Medicinal plants are plants that are known to contain beneficial compounds that can prevent, alleviate, or cure diseases. Knowledge about medicinal plants has different characteristics depending on the region. This study aims to document the knowledge of residents of the Legok Hayam Cultural Village, Girimekar Village, Bandung Regency about traditional medicinal plants. The ethnobotanical research method was conducted from September 2024 using semi-structured interviews and observations with measurement parameters of Species Use Value (SUV), Family Use Value (FUV), and Fidelity Level (FL). The research sample used a random sampling technique with a total of 25 respondents. The results identified 25 medicinal plants belonging to 15 families, traditional medicinal plants are often obtained by planting in the yard. The most frequently used medicinal plants are ginger, turmeric, binahong and kencur based on their highest utility value. The Zingiberaceae family has the largest contribution to use. In addition, binahong, kencur, katuk, and ginger plants are widely used to treat certain diseases.

This study analyzes the structure and role of spores in Thallophyta and Bryophyta in reproduction and ecosystem adaptation. Spores in Bryophyta, such as mosses, play an important role in dispersal and colonization in extreme environments, with the sporangium being the site of formation. In Thallophyta, spores function as asexual reproductive units, supporting dispersal through water and air media. Spores exhibit distinctive morphologies that favor reproductive efficiency. The results confirm that spores play a vital role in the continuity of generations and the ecological contribution of lower plants.

Pineapple sambal, a traditional dish from Jambi, is known for its spicy and tangy flavors but has a short shelf life due to its high water and acid content. This study analyzes the effect of shelf life on the quality of pineapple sambal (color, aroma, taste, and texture) using a pure experimental method and ANOVA analysis at room temperature (25–30°C) over a period of 1–7 days. The results indicate significant differences in all sensory parameters (p < 0.05). The best quality was observed from the first to the third day, with a significant decline starting on the fourth day. By the fifth day, the fresh aroma shifted to an undesirable sour smell, the texture became mushy, and the color faded due to microbial activity and oxidation. These findings are relevant to the food industry for developing airtight packaging or cold storage solutions. The study concludes that the optimal shelf life of pineapple sambal at room temperature is three days, supporting the preservation of Jambi's culinary heritage and its development into a competitive commercial product.

Opor is a very popular food, so it is served at almost every celebration. The main key to the deliciousness of opor lies in the spices used, but making opor seasoning is done by mixing many ingredients and spices so that the processing takes a long time. The resulting opor seasoning is also in the form of a paste, so it has a short shelf life and is less practical. This study aims to create instant opor seasoning in powder form so that it is more practical and can be stored for a long time. The method used in this study is an experiment to find a cause-and-effect relationship between the proportion of opor seasoning extract and maltodextrin added to the organoleptic properties of the resulting powdered opor seasoning. Organoleptic tests were conducted on 30 panelists. Based on the panelists' results, the best opor seasoning is produced by mixing 1.5 parts of opor seasoning extract with 1% maltodextrin. This powdered opor seasoning has a fat content of 11.85%, protein 17.63%, and calories 289.5 kcal/100g. The cost required to make powdered opor seasoning per package is IDR 13,000
