Abstract

The application of flexible management through the work from home (WFH) policy has created the potential for quite a lot of community service jobs that have been going on so far. The research which aims to analyze management flexibility is related to the implementation of flexible management with potential delays in work during the Pandemic period where every employee does daily work pickets. Sampling took 52 government employees in the public service sector by purposive incidental sampling. Data were collected through the thurstone scale in the form of closed choice, and analyzed through inferential analysis techniques as a proof of the hypothesis. The results of the study describe the potential for work delays by 50% of employees who take advantage of rotating work days, and 49% of employees who tend not to use the excess flexibility of leadership policies and 64% of employees who may be low or sometimes able to use hours. work during the pandemic. The potential for delays is mostly done by taking advantage of working time or delaying if the employee is outside the daily work picket even though it is still within the effective working hours of the week. The results of hypothesis testing through chi suare obtained a value of 2 of 30.617 (df 6; 5%) obtained a probability value of 0.000 (p < 0.01), which means that there is a very significant correlation between the application of management during the pandemic through work from home activities (WFH). ) with the potential for delaying the completion of public service tasks by government employees in the public service sector.

Abstract

As a form of service innovation, the Bandung City Population and Civil Registration Service applies Salaman application-based services. The word Salaman itself is an abbreviation of the word finished in hand. In practice, the Salaman application-based service implemented by the Department of Population and Civil Registration throughout 2019-2021 raises its own problems, especially for certain groups, such as homeless people, beggars, and other marginal groups in the city of Bandung. The purpose of this study was to analyze and describe the effectiveness of the service innovation of the Population and Civil Registration Service based on the Salaman application for the homeless and beggar groups. This research uses a descriptive method with a qualitative approach. Data collection techniques are carried out through interviews, observation and documentation, and data analysis techniques are carried out by data reduction, data display and drawing conclusions. The results of this study indicate that of the seven indicators used to measure the effectiveness of service innovations implemented by the Department of Population and Civil Registration of Bandung City, six of them showed poor results associated with groups of homeless people and beggars in the city of Bandung. The six indicators include clarity of purpose, clarity of strategy, process of policy analysis and formulation, careful planning, programming, and effective and efficient implementation. So overall it can be concluded that the Salaman application-based service innovation has not been effective in its application, especially if it is associated with groups of homeless people and beggars in the city of Bandung.

Abstract

Farming community empowerment is an important element in the effort to improve the welfare of farmers in Sumedang Regency. However, the empowerment process often faces various communication barriers that affect the effectiveness of the program run by the Agriculture and Food Security Office of Sumedang Regency. This research aims to analyze communication barriers in empowering farming communities based on four main aspects: socio-anthro-psychological, semantic, mechanical, and ecological barriers. The research method used is qualitative with a case study approach and data collection techniques through interviews, observation, and documentation. The results showed that the main obstacles in communication to empower farming communities include social and cultural differences between farmers and extension officers, difficulties in understanding due to the use of formal language, limited access to communication technology, and environmental disturbances such as noise and unfavorable social conditions. Therefore, a more inclusive and participatory communication strategy is needed to improve the effectiveness of empowerment programs and ensure that the information conveyed can be received and understood properly by the farming community.

The social impacts that occur in the community include many things, one of which is in education, which makes students, teachers, and stakeholders have to move quickly to find real solutions. The Indonesian government 2020 has issued a policy to learn from, but many are still not ready to change the old pattern (offline) into a new pattern (Online)—using combined approach research between qualitative and quantitative (Mix Method). This research was conducted at UIN Sunan Gunung Djati Bandung. This study aims to improve/develop the existing Learning Management System (LMS) to be more effective and efficient. There are no students who are constrained in using the LMS in the future, both from a social and technical perspective.

Abstract

This article is to figure out how Javanese power succession has archetypal structures and relational systems in Babad Tanah Jawi, representing that the past is prophetic prologomena for the future. Using Lévi-Strauss’s structural anthropology of myth as a methodological approach, this study attempts to analyze the relational systems of successive power of Javanese characters (rulers) from pre-Majapahit to early Mataram in Babad Tanah Jawi and to interpret symbols of the prophetic divine during the periods of different Javanese reigns. This study has found that Javanese dynastic succession has been characterized by archetypal structures, in which the Javanese rulers commonly passed through identical phases of life-journeys, ranging from getting divination from fortune-teller (prophecy), getting out of the origins (exodus), to getting political recognition to be the next ruler (legitimacy). This system argues that the mythological prophecy in Babad Tanah Jawi is political because it prevails the logic of the Javanese worldview (weltanschauung) and the precondition of mystical and political legitimacy for Javanese rulers. The narratives of prophetic symbols, in which the different Javanese rulers had been involved in similar forms and structures, also imply the political dimension of prophecy representing the power of their reigns.

Abstract

This study deployed desktop research methodology in seeking to understand the cybersecurity challenges confronting Internet of Things (IoT) and the mitigation mechanisms. Objects are no longer independent from each other; rather, connectivity through the power of the internet has connected them. IoT is no longer a new invention or innovation in the technology industry and human lives. The concept is widely used in different industries such as healthcare, food, finance, manufacturing, government, insurance, oil and gas, transportation, postal services, defence, and many more. These industries are using the ability of IoT to function optimally in facilitating different activities. Users of technology devices use IoT devices in homes, offices, and other places to increase productivity and efficiency daily. This article analyses the cybersecurity challenges of IoT and its mitigation mechanisms. The findings identified different cybersecurity challenges confronting IoT and the ways to mitigate them.
