Abstract

General Background: The rapid growth of the culinary industry in Indonesia has intensified competition among cafés, requiring effective marketing strategies to attract and retain consumers. Specific Background: D’Coffee Cup Merr Surabaya faces challenges in customer satisfaction, reflected in lower ratings compared to competitors, indicating the need to evaluate marketing factors influencing consumer behavior. Knowledge Gap: Previous studies on the 7P marketing mix show inconsistent findings, and limited research simultaneously examines its relationship with purchase decisions and repurchase behavior within a single Structural Equation Modeling framework. Aims: This study aims to analyze the relationship between the 7P marketing mix, purchase decisions, and repurchase behavior among café consumers. Results: The findings reveal that product significantly affects both purchase decisions and repurchase behavior, while price only influences purchase decisions; other variables such as place, promotion, process, and physical evidence show no significant relationship, and purchase decisions significantly drive repurchase behavior. Novelty: This study integrates all 7P variables within a single SEM model to provide a comprehensive understanding of direct and indirect relationships between marketing mix elements, purchase decisions, and repurchase behavior. Implications: The results highlight the importance of prioritizing product quality and variation in marketing strategies to strengthen consumer decisions and encourage repeat purchases in the competitive café industry. Highlights: Product-related factors dominate consumer behavior in both initial and repeat transactions. Price contributes only to initial buying decisions without extending to repeat actions. Consumer decision stage acts as a direct pathway toward repeated transactions. Keywords: Marketing Mix 7P, Purchase Decision, Repurchase, SEM

Abstract

General Background: Early childhood represents a critical developmental phase in which social competencies such as empathy, cooperation, and communication begin to form through interactions within family and educational environments. Specific Background: In the digital era, millennial parents increasingly adopt teach free parenting, a flexible and communicative approach that allows children to learn through direct experience with guided boundaries. Knowledge Gap: Despite its growing relevance, empirical understanding of how millennial parents implement teach free parenting and its role in early childhood social development remains limited, particularly in Indonesian early childhood education contexts. Aims: This study aims to describe parenting patterns of millennial parents in applying teach free parenting and examine its role in shaping social development among kindergarten children in Lamongan. Results: Using a qualitative case study with in-depth interviews involving parents and teachers, findings indicate that teach free parenting reflects a balance between child autonomy and parental guidance, fostering confidence, empathy, cooperation, and communication skills through open dialogue, decision-making opportunities, and consistent support. Challenges include environmental influences, gadget use, and differing family parenting patterns, while parent–school collaboration emerges as a key supporting factor. Novelty: The study highlights teach free parenting as an adaptive transformation of democratic parenting within the digital era, emphasizing experiential learning and guided autonomy. Implications: These findings provide practical insights for parents and educators to implement adaptive parenting strategies that support consistent social value internalization and collaborative educational environments. Highlights• Flexible caregiving approach balances autonomy with structured guidance• Social competencies emerge through dialogue and experiential learning• Parent–school synergy supports consistent developmental processes KeywordsTeach Free Parenting; Millennial Parents; Early Childhood; Social Development; Democratic Parenting

Abstract

General Background Misconceptions represent a fundamental issue in mathematics learning that can hinder students’ understanding of advanced concepts, particularly in exponentiation. Specific Background Students frequently experience conceptual errors in exponentiation, including generalization, notation, specialization, and mathematical language, which remain undetected due to limited use of diagnostic assessment. Knowledge Gap Previous practices have not sufficiently applied four-tier diagnostic tests combined with Certainty of Response Index to deeply identify misconceptions and their variation based on gender. Aims This study aims to describe students’ misconceptions in exponentiation concepts through conceptual understanding using a four-tier diagnostic test based on gender. Results The findings revealed that 23 out of 38 students experienced misconceptions, with a higher proportion among male students, characterized by dominance in generalization and symbolic notation errors, while female students tended to show misconceptions in language and conceptual application. Novelty The novelty lies in integrating a four-tier diagnostic test with CRI to uncover misconception characteristics and differentiate cognitive patterns between male and female students in exponentiation material. Implications These results indicate the necessity of gender-adaptive instructional strategies and periodic diagnostic assessment to identify misconceptions and design targeted learning interventions for improving conceptual understanding. HIGHLIGHTS • Higher misconception proportion observed among male learners compared to female learners• Distinct cognitive patterns identified between symbolic reasoning and language-based understanding• Diagnostic assessment reveals varied categories of conceptual misunderstanding KEYWORDS Misconceptions; Exponentiation; Four-Tier Diagnostic Test; Conceptual Understanding; Gender

Abstract

General Background: The Sale and Purchase Binding Agreement (PPJB) as a notarial authentic deed serves as a legal instrument to facilitate land transactions and ensure legal certainty in civil law practice. Specific Background: In practice, PPJB may not always reflect a balanced agreement, particularly when one party experiences inequality of position, leading to misbruik van omstandigheden or abuse of circumstances. Knowledge Gap: Despite formal validity, there remains limited analysis of judicial reasoning in assessing defects of consent within PPJB and the resulting legal consequences in Indonesian court decisions. Aims: This study analyzes the judge’s legal considerations in annulling a notarial PPJB due to abuse of circumstances and examines the legal consequences of such annulment in Decision Number 234/Pdt.G/2020/PN Mtr. Results: The findings indicate that the annulment is based on a defect of consent arising from unequal bargaining positions, where the agreement did not reflect a freely formed will as required under Article 1320 of the Indonesian Civil Code. Consequently, the PPJB is categorized as a voidable agreement (vernietigbaar), resulting in the loss of binding legal force after the court decision and restoring the parties to their original position. Novelty: This study highlights the judicial application of misbruik van omstandigheden as a doctrinal basis for evaluating substantive justice beyond formal legality in notarial deeds. Implications: The findings emphasize the need for notarial prudence and consistent judicial application of abuse of circumstances doctrine to ensure legal protection for weaker parties in contractual relations. Highlights: Court reasoning confirms imbalance of bargaining positions as basis for contract invalidation. Agreement classification as vernietigbaar leads to loss of legal enforceability after judgment. Legal status of parties is restored to pre-contractual condition following annulment. Abstract

General Background Marriage is a central institution in Islamic teaching and social order, yet contemporary youth increasingly reconsider its timing within changing socio-cultural contexts. Specific Background This study examines the phenomenon of delayed marriage among Generation Z through a socio-legal lens that integrates sociological analysis with Islamic family law perspectives. Knowledge Gap Prior discussions have not sufficiently bridged empirical social behavior of youth with normative Islamic legal frameworks, particularly in relation to evolving values shaped by modernization and digital culture. Aims The study aims to identify key social factors underlying marriage postponement among Generation Z and assess their relevance to Islamic family law principles. Results Findings reveal four dominant drivers: economic constraints, educational and career priorities, social media exposure, and environmental as well as lifestyle factors. Economic considerations and digital influences demonstrate notable tension with Islamic legal norms that prioritize timely marriage, while educational aspirations show partial alignment when balanced with religious obligations. Novelty The research introduces an interdisciplinary socio-legal approach combining empirical insights and normative analysis, offering a comprehensive understanding of youth decision-making within Islamic legal discourse. Implications The study suggests the need for adaptive interpretations of Islamic family law that remain responsive to social transformation while preserving core religious values, supporting policy and educational initiatives addressing generational shifts in marital perspectives. Highlights: Financial readiness, academic pursuit, and digital exposure shape postponement decisions. Normative religious expectations intersect with shifting youth value orientations. Interdisciplinary socio-legal framing clarifies contemporary marital perceptions. Keywords: Postponing, Marriage, Gen Z Perceptions, Sociological Analysis, Islamic Family Law

Abstract

This study examines determinants of banking financial performance in the context of post-pandemic recovery and digital economy transition. General Background: The Indonesian banking sector experienced structural shifts during 2021–2024 due to digitalization, regulatory changes, and competitive pressures. Specific Background: Strategic Performance Measurement System (SPMS), Enterprise Risk Management Disclosure (ERMD), and digital transformation are considered key managerial and governance mechanisms influencing financial outcomes. Knowledge Gap: Prior studies largely analyze these variables separately, with limited integrated evidence and inconsistent findings, particularly in Indonesian banking during the post-pandemic period. Aims: This study aims to analyze the simultaneous and partial relationships of SPMS, ERMD, and digital transformation on financial performance, proxied by Return on Assets (ROA), with firm size as a control variable. Results: Using panel data regression with 180 observations from 45 banks, the findings reveal that SPMS and ERMD do not show significant relationships with financial performance, while digital transformation demonstrates a significant positive relationship. Simultaneously, all variables contribute significantly, although the explanatory power remains limited (Adjusted R² = 0.0921). Novelty: This study integrates strategic measurement, risk disclosure, and digital capability within a single analytical framework during the 2021–2024 transition period. Implications: The findings highlight digital capability as a dominant driver of banking profitability, suggesting that integrated digital transformation strategies are essential for sustaining competitiveness in the digital economy. Highlights• Digital capability shows the strongest statistical relationship with profitability indicators• Disclosure-based mechanisms display non-significant statistical relationships• Combined model explains financial variation despite limited explanatory power KeywordsDigital Transformation; Financial Performance; Banking Sector; Enterprise Risk Management Disclosure; Strategic Performance Measurement System

Abstract

General Background: Sedentary lifestyle is increasingly prevalent among adolescents and young adults and is associated with metabolic dysfunction, autonomic imbalance, reduced cardiovascular efficiency, and poor sleep quality. Specific Background: Moderate-intensity walking exercise is recognized as a simple aerobic activity that can be easily implemented to support physiological regulation and fitness. Knowledge Gap: However, empirical evidence synthesizing the effects of walking exercise simultaneously on sleep quality and cardiopulmonary capacity in sedentary youth remains limited. Aims: This study aims to systematically synthesize evidence on moderate-intensity walking exercise, including brisk walking, in improving sleep quality and cardiopulmonary capacity among adolescents and young adults with sedentary lifestyles. Results: Based on eight selected studies following PRISMA 2020 guidelines, walking exercise improved sleep quality components such as sleep duration and daytime function, although changes in global PSQI scores were not consistently significant, while cardiopulmonary capacity showed consistent improvement indicated by increased VO₂max/VO₂peak and decreased resting heart rate. Novelty: This study integrates dual outcomes of sleep quality and cardiopulmonary capacity within a single intervention framework focused specifically on sedentary adolescents and young adults, emphasizing intervention characteristics such as duration, intensity, and frequency. Implications: These findings support walking exercise as a practical, accessible, and evidence-based physical activity strategy for promoting cardiopulmonary health and supporting sleep regulation in sedentary populations. Highlights• Moderate walking programs increased sleep duration and daytime functioning• Aerobic capacity gains observed through VO₂max and heart rate changes• Structured interventions show consistent physiological adaptations KeywordsWalking Exercise; Sleep Quality; Cardiopulmonary Capacity; Sedentary Lifestyle; Adolescents

Abstract

General Background: The rapid digital transformation of financial systems has accelerated the development of Central Bank Digital Currency (CBDC) as a strategic instrument in modern monetary policy and payment systems. Specific Background: In developing countries such as Indonesia and Nigeria, CBDC adoption varies due to differences in implementation stages, financial ecosystems, and public readiness. Knowledge Gap: Previous studies predominantly focus on technological and macroeconomic determinants, with limited integration of financial literacy, monetary policy accountability, and trust in financial authorities within a unified cross-country model. Aims: This study aims to examine the role of financial literacy, monetary policy accountability, and trust in financial authorities in shaping CBDC adoption using a mixed method approach. Results: The findings reveal that financial literacy and trust exhibit negative and significant relationships with CBDC adoption, reflecting increased public critical awareness of risks, while monetary policy accountability shows a positive and significant relationship. Simultaneously, all variables significantly explain CBDC adoption with high explanatory power (Adjusted R² = 0.962083). Novelty: This study integrates cognitive, institutional, and psychological dimensions in a cross-country analysis, providing a multidimensional perspective on CBDC adoption in developing economies. Implications: The results suggest that CBDC implementation requires comprehensive and adaptive policies emphasizing public trust, transparency, and risk communication beyond technological readiness. Highlights• Financial literacy relates negatively to adoption due to heightened risk awareness• Monetary governance transparency strengthens acceptance of digital currency systems• Trust deficits remain a critical barrier in early-stage implementation contexts KeywordsCentral Bank Digital Currency; Financial Literacy; Monetary Policy Accountability; Trust In Financial Authorities; Developing Countries

Abstract

General Background: Education plays a strategic role in shaping human resources not only cognitively but also in developing character and ethics from an early age. Specific Background: The advancement of globalization and technology has led to moral value shifts, while character education in elementary schools remains less contextual, particularly within Islamic educational settings. Knowledge Gap: Studies focusing on the integration of local wisdom through santri culture in Islamic elementary schools within pesantren environments are still limited. Aims: This study aims to analyze the implementation of local wisdom-based education through santri culture in shaping students’ character and ethics at SDI Tanwirul Qulub. Results: Using a qualitative case study approach with observation, in-depth interviews, and documentation, the findings show that the integration is implemented through habituation, exemplary behavior, and hidden curriculum, where santri culture as religious local wisdom fosters respectful attitudes, discipline in worship, social ethics, and student confidence. Novelty: This study offers an integrative model of character education based on local wisdom by positioning santri culture as a form of religious local wisdom internalized through daily practices in a pesantren-based elementary school context. Implications: The findings provide a conceptual and practical alternative for strengthening character education in Islamic elementary schools through the integration of formal learning and pesantren cultural values. Highlights• Integration of school curriculum with pesantren traditions shapes moral development• Daily habituation and role modeling build discipline, respect, and social ethics• Collaborative roles of teachers and caregivers sustain value internalization KeywordsLocal Wisdom Education; Santri Culture; Character Formation; Ethics Education; Islamic Elementary School
