Abstract

This study aims to describe the implementation of the Numbered Heads Together (NHT) learning model in Social Studies (IPS) and to examine the development of students’ critical thinking skills. This research employed a qualitative approach with a descriptive method. The subjects were students of class VIII B at SMPN 3 Tarogong Kidul. Data were collected through observation, interviews, and documentation, and analyzed using the Miles and Huberman model, which includes data reduction, data display, and conclusion drawing. The results indicate that the implementation of the NHT model improves student engagement in learning, as evidenced by increased participation in discussions, confidence in expressing opinions, and social interaction among students. Furthermore, students’ critical thinking skills show significant development, particularly in analysis, explanation, and inference. Students are able to identify problems, connect information, provide logical arguments, and draw systematic conclusions. However, evaluation skills remain less developed and require more intensive practice. Thus, the Numbered Heads Together (NHT) learning model is effective in enhancing student engagement and gradually developing critical thinking skills in Social Studies learning.

Abstract

This analysis discusses ASEAN as an international organization that responds to and addresses human trafficking cases in Cambodia. Human trafficking occurs due to various factors—poverty, political instability, and limited job opportunities. This analysis employs a qualitative, descriptive approach. Data collection was conducted through literature review, where the author accessed various secondary sources such as scientific journals, books, and articles from reputable media outlets. Kelly Kate Pease’s theory of international organizations serves as the primary analytical framework, particularly regarding ASEAN’s three roles: Problem Solver, Aid Provider, and Capacity Builder. Through the ASEAN Convention Against Trafficking in Persons, Especially Women and Children (ACTIP), ASEAN plays a crucial role in policy formulation and cross-border collaboration to address human trafficking issues. Additionally, ASEAN plays a role in providing assistance and rehabilitation support for victims through various frameworks such as the TIP Bohol initiative and the ASEAN Multi-Sectoral Work Plan Against Trafficking in Persons (TIP). ASEAN strives to find regional solutions to eradicate human trafficking in the region; in Cambodia, human trafficking poses a significant threat and disrupts ASEAN’s security stability. Abstract

This study aims to analyze the conflict of interest in the utilization of Micro Hydro Power Plants (MHP) in Karangtengah Village, Banyumas Regency. The background of this research is based on the success of the local community in establishing energy independence through MHP, which later triggered a conflict with Perusahaan Listrik Negara (PLN) as the national electricity provider. This study employs a qualitative approach using literature review and document analysis methods. Data were collected from academic journals, official reports, and relevant media sources, and analyzed using content analysis techniques and the conflict theory perspective of Karl Marx. The results show that the MHP is capable of generating electricity with a capacity of approximately 15 kW and supplying power to dozens to over a hundred households at an affordable tariff. However, this success has led to a conflict of interest between the community and PLN, particularly regarding the control of energy resources, distribution of economic benefits, and authority over the energy system. From a conflict theory perspective, this condition reflects the dynamics of domination and resistance between local actors and state actors. This study concludes that the conflict surrounding MHP is not merely technical but represents a structural conflict in community-based energy management.

Abstract

Ethnic and racial diversity refers to the existence of various ethnic and racial groups in society that include differences in geographic origin, culture, language, religion and social practices. Ethnic and racial diversity in higher education refers to a group of students, faculty, and staff who come from different ethnic and racial backgrounds. This is a new challenge and opportunity for universities in managing ethnic and racial diversity. Ethnic and racial diversity is an important aspect in creating a conducive and inclusive higher education environment for all students. This research aims to analyze students' perceptions of ethnic and racial diversity in the Sriwijaya University environment. This research uses a quantitative method with a survey method by distributing questionnaires to students at Sriwijaya University with various faculties and various ethnic and racial backgrounds for each student. The research results obtained show that the majority of students have positive perceptions of ethnic and racial diversity at the universities where they study. Positive perceptions from students who think that diversity in the university environment provides benefits in expanding interviews, increasing tolerance, and enriching learning experiences. However, there are also several challenges faced, such as the existence of negative stereotypes and prejudice among ethnic groups. It is hoped that these findings can become the basis for universities to develop more inclusive policies and create a harmonious and tolerant academic environment.

Abstract

Dadi Temple is a historical structure in Tulungagung Regency designated as a National‑level Cultural Heritage site. This study aims to explore and analyze the perspectives of cultural experts and the residents of Wajak Kidul Village concerning the history of Dadi Temple. The research employed a descriptive qualitative approach. Data were collected through in‑depth interviews with the temple’s caretakers, cultural experts, and local community members; architectural and environmental observations of the temple; and document analysis. Data analysis followed the Miles and Huberman model, which includes data reduction, data display, and conclusion drawing and verification. Data validity was tested using methodological and source triangulation. Methodological triangulation compared findings from observation, interviews, and documentation, while source triangulation compared information from multiple informants to ensure the credibility of the results. The findings indicate that the periodization of Dadi Temple construction corresponds to the Majapahit era under the reign of King Hayam Wuruk in the 14th century CE, specifically toward the end of his rule. The functions of Dadi Temple included worship and ritual practice, ascetic retreat, and funerary cremation. In addition, the community preserves folklore concerning the temple’s origin that resembles the Prambanan legend. These findings demonstrate that Dadi Temple not only possesses historical value but also remains alive within the community’s collective memory through oral tradition. The diversity of perspectives on Dadi Temple illustrates that history is not merely a record of past facts but also a product of interpretation and collective memory transmitted across generations.

Abstract

This study examines the phenomenon of information gaps, misunderstandings, and psychological alienation from organizational culture experienced by outsourced employees due to their limited access to formal internal communication channels. This issue is evident at PT X, where the implementation of the “SOLUTION” work culture (Serve, Organized, Leading, Uniqueness, Totality, Innovative, Open-minded, and Networking) has not been fully internalized among outsourced employees. This condition is influenced by the limited frequency of work culture training programs, which are conducted only once a year, as well as the dominance of permanent employees in formal discussion forums. This study aims to analyze the influence of internal communication on the work culture of outsourced employees at PT X. A quantitative method with an explanatory approach was employed. Primary data were collected through structured questionnaires distributed to 32 outsourced employees with a minimum of two years of work experience, while secondary data were obtained through a literature review. Data were analyzed using Partial Least Squares Structural Equation Modeling (PLS-SEM). The findings indicate that internal communication has a positive and significant effect on employees’ understanding of work culture, as reflected by a P-value of 0.000 (< 0.05) and a path coefficient of 0.904. These results suggest that more effective internal communication contributes to a stronger understanding and internalization of organizational culture among outsourced employees. Furthermore, the R² value of 0.818 indicates that internal communication explains 81.8% of the variance in employees’ understanding of work culture, while the remaining 18.2% is influenced by other variables outside the scope of this study.

Abstract

The policy of blending fuel with 10% ethanol is a government policy program implemented through the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources (ESDM). The E10 program aims to reduce carbon emissions, decrease fuel imports, and support the transition to renewable energy. However, the media has shaped this policy issue in a way that creates public opinion through the framing conducted by Liputan6 and SCTV. As a result, the public opinions that emerged were both supportive and opposing. This study aims to analyze the framing of news coverage regarding 10% ethanol fuel (E10) on the TikTok account of Liputan6 SCTV and to examine the formation of public opinion that emerged from it. The research employs a descriptive qualitative method using Robert Entman’s framing analysis through four elements: define problems, diagnose causes, make moral judgement, and treatment recommendation. Primary data were obtained from four TikTok video contents by Liputan6 SCTV related to the E10 policy during the October 2025 period. Meanwhile, secondary data were collected from books, journals, and websites relevant to this topic. The results of the study indicate that the media framed the E10 policy as a government effort to create alternative energy, reduce fuel imports, and support environmentally friendly energy. However, the media also highlighted the risks of ethanol use for vehicles, which led to public opinion that tended to be skeptical and opposed to the policy. This study demonstrates that public agenda and media framing have a significant influence in shaping public perceptions of the 10% bioethanol policy in Indonesia.
