Abstract

Science learning in elementary schools still uses lecture methods and textbooks, making students less active and easily bored, especially in the five senses material. This condition has an impact on low student interest and involvement in understanding the relationship between the form and function of the five senses. This study aims to develop innovative learning media in the form of Pop-Up Snakes and Ladders for the Five Senses (Ultapupa) which is designed to improve the knowledge of fourth-grade students and create a more interesting and interactive learning experience. This study uses the Research and Development (R&D) method with the ADDIE model which includes five stages: analysis, design, development, implementation, and evaluation. The media developed is a 60x60 cm snakes and ladders game board with pop-up elements, question cards, material cards, pawns, dice, and game instructions. The product was validated by media experts, material experts, and learning experts, then tested in a limited trial with teachers and fourth-grade students of Muhammadiyah Sambisari Elementary School. Data were collected through questionnaires, interviews, observations, and qualitative and quantitative assessments. The results showed that Ultapupa was declared very suitable for use. Expert validation was rated very good, while teacher and student feedback was positive. This medium has been shown to increase student engagement and understanding of the five-sensory material.

Abstract

This research is motivated by students' relatively low motivation to learn science, resulting in boredom and a general lack of active participation in learning activities. Furthermore, in elementary school science, teachers often fail to implement learning models that capture students' attention and enhance their motivation, particularly regarding the food chain. Therefore, this study aims to determine the effectiveness of the project-based learning model and to identify supporting and inhibiting factors in improving fifth-grade students' motivation to learn science. This study employed a quantitative approach and a pre-experimental one-group pretest-posttest design. Twenty-four fifth-grade students at Muhammadiyah Ambarketawang 2 Elementary School participated in the study. Data collection used a science motivation questionnaire and documentation. Data analysis included normality tests, homogeneity tests, and hypothesis testing using SPSS version 25. The results showed an average pretest score of 53.42 for science motivation, followed by a posttest score of 63.83. Based on the results of hypothesis testing using paired sample t-test with the help of SPSS version 25, the significance value (Sig. 2-tailed) was 0.000 <0.05, so Ha was accepted and H0 was rejected, which means there was a significant difference. Thus, it can be concluded that the use of the project-based learning model is effective in increasing the motivation to learn science in grade V students of SD Muhammadiyah Ambarketawang 2, especially in the food chain material.

Abstract

Problems with Islamic religious education in schools usually include several major obstacles, such as students' lack of understanding of religious material, low student motivation to learn, teachers who are unprofessional or do not have a background in Islamic religious education, and students' lack of practice of religious teachings in their daily lives. In addition, uninteresting teaching methods and inadequate facilities and infrastructure also hinder the effectiveness of Islamic religious education. These problems mean that the objectives of Islamic religious education, which focus on shaping students' noble character and faith, have not been optimally achieved in schools.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the difference in language skills in children aged 5-6 years through the use of digital storybooks at Aisyiyah Busthanul Athfal 06 Medan Kindergarten. The approach used was experimental research with a one group pretest-posttest design. The sample in this study amounted to 15 children selected using purposive sampling technique. Data collection instruments include observation and documentation guidelines. Data analysis was carried out using non-parametric statistical tests, namely the Wilcoxon Signed-Rank Test. The results showed that there were significant differences in children's language skills, especially in the aspects of listening and speaking, before and after treatment. This is indicated by an increase in the average score from 4.13 in the pretest to 7.47 in the posttest. The significance value obtained is 0.001 <0.05, so H₀ is rejected and Hₐ is accepted. Thus, it can be concluded that the use of digital storybooks has an effect on improving the language skills of children aged 5-6 years at Aisyiyah Busthanul Athfal 06 Medan Kindergarten.

Abstract

This study uses a qualitative approach and the type of research used is descriptive. The data collection techniques used are interviews, observation, and documentation. Then the data analysis techniques used in this study are data reduction, data display/data presentation, and drawing conclusions. While the technique of checking the validity of the data researchers use triangulation techniques and member checks. The results of this study indicate that: 1) Students' learning difficulties can be concluded that the difficulties experienced by students with learning difficulties include: a) Difficulty in Understanding Symbols; b) Difficulty in Understanding Concepts; c) Difficulty in Calculation; d) Difficulty in Understanding Principles; 2) Simply put, the implementation of teacher competencies as educators is: a) Ensuring Student Readiness in Learning Mathematics; b) Use of Mathematics Learning Media; c) Solving Problems According to Student Abilities; d) Teacher Assessment of Learning; 3) The main inhibiting factor is still many obstacles, because students are considered as the covid-19 generation, so there are still many students who are not actually ready to be in grade IV. Supporting factors include communicative and trainable teachers who master teacher competencies and learning theories, mathematics learning principles, and the necessary teaching methods.

Abstract

Student learning problems are very complex and varied, such as: lying, leaving without permission, stealing, cheating, low learning discipline, low learning motivation, low learning achievement, not necessarily achieved by lazy students but caused by wrong attitudes and ways of learning. Tutoring at school for class higher. Therefore, teaching and learning activities in class XI students at SMA 1 Sungai Puar must be activated into guidance and counseling. One method of implementing tutoring at high school level is through teaching and learning activities with a guidance nuance. The operationalization is the values of learning guidance services provided to students on the sidelines or even simultaneously with the guidance that will be provided by guidance and counseling teachers. Learning difficulties are a problem that often arises among students, this problem is caused by various factors, including internal factors and external factors. Learning difficulties are characterized by low learning outcomes, students are unable to learn well, and have difficulty understanding what they are learning. So that in the end it can cause student learning achievement to be at the lowest level. The type and level of difficulty experienced by students is not the same conceptually, intelligence and learning motivation for each student. Student learning difficulties are generally divided into two categories, namely learning difficulties related to development (attention, memory, movement and perception disorders, language and thinking) and academic learning difficulties such as learning mathematics and English.

Abstract

The life of a teacher is a unique experience that constantly grapples with complex problems. This is understandable because a teacher's life encompasses two realms: the school and the community, including the teacher's own family. Within these realms, teachers are inextricably linked to challenges that must be faced and resolved effectively. Furthermore, internal problems are sometimes, and can even be, more serious, and can have more serious consequences. From this description, it can be said that "emotional problems" are problems experienced by teachers, whether they are self-inflicted or caused by their environment. As supervisors, we not only supervise but also act as emotional companions for teachers, providing assistance in resolving these issues to create a healthy and conducive work climate within the school environment.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the effect of using educational technology on the ability of elementary teacher education (PGSD) students to design lesson plans (RPP). The research employed a quantitative method with a pretest–posttest control group design. The sample consisted of 30 fifth-semester PGSD students selected through purposive sampling. The experimental group was given treatment by using educational technologies (Canva, Google Classroom, Kahoot) in preparing lesson plans, while the control group designed RPP conventionally. The research instruments included a test of lesson plan design skills administered at pretest and posttest, and a Likert-scale questionnaire to support data on student perceptions. Results indicated that the experimental group’s ability increased from medium (M = 70.12) to high (M = 82.35), while the control group only improved slightly (M = 69.85 to M = 72.10). A t-test showed a significant difference between groups (t = 3.52; p < 0.05). It is concluded that integrating educational technology positively affects PGSD students’ ability to design RPP, enhancing creativity and readiness as future teachers in the digital era.
