Abstract

Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) in Marlempang Village have great potential in the field of local processed food products. Unfortunately, most MSME actors do not yet have the ability to utilize visual elements of products such as logo and packaging design. In fact, logos and packaging are important aspects in building brand identity, attracting consumer attention, and increasing the selling value and competitiveness of products. This community service activity aims to increase the competitiveness of MSMEs by providing training in designing logos and packaging that are attractive, functional, and in accordance with the character of the product. The implementation method includes counseling on the importance of visual design, training in making logos and packaging with simple design applications (Canva), and direct assistance for each MSME. The results of the activity showed an increase in MSME actors' understanding of the importance of visual identity and the ability to design logos and product packaging. It is hoped that this activity will contribute to increasing sales and branding of local products in Marlempang Village. With this assistance, MSMEs in Marlempang Village have a greater opportunity to develop sustainably. This activity has a positive impact on the branding and competitiveness of local MSME products. Further recommendations are digital marketing training and product legality assistance to increase business scale.

Abstract

Abstract

Flash floods that occurred in Alukuta Village, Bireuen Regency, caused significant social and economic impacts on the affected community, including human impacts and material damage. One of the main challenges in post-disaster conditions is the lack of accurate and well-classified data, which often leads to inappropriate aid distribution, particularly for vulnerable groups such as infants, toddlers, pregnant women, breastfeeding mothers, and the elderly. This community service activity aimed to collect data on victims and damage caused by flash floods using an information system–based approach to support targeted aid distribution and disaster mitigation at the village level. The methods used included primary data collection through questionnaires, interviews, and direct field observations. The collected data were analyzed descriptively and presented through an information system and infographics. The results showed that there were 285 displaced persons from 77 households, with a high proportion of vulnerable groups, as well as damage to houses, village infrastructure, and community livelihoods. The information system–based data collection facilitated better understanding of actual field conditions by volunteers and donors, enabling more appropriate aid distribution. This activity is expected to serve as a model for post-disaster data collection to support data-driven disaster mitigation at the village level. Keywords: flash flood, disaster data collection, information system, vulnerable groups, disaster mitigation
