Abstract

Abstract: This study aimed to compare school program attended by students in Senior High School based on the score of the English performance. The data collected were in form of participants’ individual score of Placement test. The data representing 309 participants divided in to three groups; natural science, social science and language program. English performance score obtained from placement test of intensive course program was analysed using one way analysis of variance (ANOVA) The result shows that Students with language program backgrounds outscore students with a social science program but not better than students with natural science program.Keywords: educational backgrounds, english performance, natural science, social scienceLanguage ProgramAbstrak: Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk membandingkan program sekolah yang diambil  siswa di Sekolah Menengah Atas berdasarkan nilai bahasa Inggris. Data yang dikumpulkan adalah dalam bentuk nilai masing-masing mahasiswa dari tes Penempatan. Data yang mewakili 309 peserta dibagi menjadi tiga kelompok; ilmu pengetahuan alam, ilmu pengetahuan sosial dan program bahasa. Nilai bahasa Inggris yang diperoleh dari tes penempatan program Intensive Course dianalisis menggunakan analisis varians satu arah (ANOVA). Hasilnya menunjukkan bahwa siswa dengan latar belakang program bahasa mengungguli siswa dengan program ilmu pengetahuan sosial tetapi tidak lebih baik daripada siswa dengan program ilmu pengetahuan alam.Kata kunci: latar belakang pendidikan, kinerja bahasa Inggris, ilmu alam, ilmu sosial

Abstract

Abstract: The study investigates code-switching performed by three pre-school children in Indonesia. The study employs a qualitative research methodology with an exploratory case study. The participants of the study are three pre-school children who live in a small village in Banten Province in which two languages are exposed and spoken by the majority of people in that area namely Bahasa Indonesia as the national language and Sundanese as a vernacular language. The study reveals that the code-switching utterances performed by preschool children are classified into intra and inter sentential switches.Keywords: children, code-switching, environmental, pre-school

Abstract

Abstract: Every culture has different rules and values that develop and are believed together, as well as Melayu people who have values that are believed and applied jointly by the people, one of them is gurindam XII. In line with this, the values contained in gurindam XII have a very broad value, especially the value of meaningfulness of life. Meaningfulness of life in question is how the Melayu people in finding and developing so that the meaningfulness of life develops optimally. The purpose of this study is to provide a grouped indicators contained in gurindam XII into the meaning of life component, as well as laying the foundation stone for further researchers to research the meaning of life of Melayu society. The method used was qualitative with Literature Study. The conclusion from the study is that the values contained in gurindam are very broad and deep, therefore a detailed analysis is needed to get the desired suitability. Alhamdulillah, this research has succeeded in formulating the essence of gurindam XII into the Meaning of Life component.Keywords: Gurindam XII, meaning of life, melayu literature Abstrak: Setiap budaya memiliki aturan dan nilai berbeda yang berkembang dan diyakini bersama, begitu juga dengan masyarakat Melayu yang memiliki nilai-nilai yang diyakini dan diterapkan bersama oleh masyarakat, salah satunya adalah gurindam XII. Sejalan dengan itu, nilai-nilai yang terkandung dalam gurindam XII memiliki nilai yang sangat luas, terutama nilai kebermaknaan hidup. Kebermaknaan hidup yang dimaksud adalah bagaimana masyarakat Melayu dalam mencari dan mengembangkan agar kebermaknaan hidup berkembang secara optimal. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk memberikan pengelompokan indikator-indikator yang terkandung dalam gurindam XII ke dalam komponen makna hidup, serta meletakkan landasan bagi peneliti selanjutnya untuk meneliti makna hidup masyarakat Melayu. Metode yang digunakan adalah kualitatif dengan Studi Literatur. Kesimpulan dari penelitian ini adalah nilai-nilai yang terkandung dalam gurindam sangat luas dan dalam, oleh karena itu diperlukan analisis yang mendetail untuk mendapatkan kesesuaian yang diinginkan. Alhamdulillah penelitian ini berhasil merumuskan intisari gurindam XII ke dalam komponen Makna Hidup.Kata kunci: Gurindam XII, makna hidup, sastra melayu

Abstract

Abstract: In Indonesia, vaccination against COVID-19 has become a requirement for all educational institutions. The vaccine can help instructors, education staff, and students prevent the spread of COVID-19 in schools. However, a person's awareness and willingness to receive the COVID-19 vaccine might be influenced by a number of other circumstances. The purpose of this study is to analyze the relationship between knowledge level and willingness to receive the COVID-19 vaccination among students at MAS Ulumul Quran in Banda Aceh. The research was conducted using a mixed method, involving all students of MAS Ulumul Quran, Banda Aceh, totaling 260 students. The study concluded that there is no significant correlation between knowledge and willingness to receive COVID-19 vaccination in students of MAS Ulumul Quran in Banda Aceh. This can also be interpreted that the level of knowledge of students has no correlation with their willingness to receive the COVID-19 vaccination.Key Words: Covid-19, knowledge, willingness, vaccination Abstrak: Di Indonesia, vaksinasi terhadap COVID-19 sudah menjadi keharusan bagi semua institusi pendidikan. Vaksin tersebut dapat membantu instruktur, tenaga kependidikan, dan siswa mencegah penyebaran COVID-19 di sekolah. Namun, kesadaran dan kesediaan seseorang untuk menerima vaksin COVID-19 mungkin dipengaruhi oleh sejumlah keadaan lain. Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk menganalisis hubungan tingkat pengetahuan dengan kesediaan menerima vaksinasi COVID-19 pada siswa MAS Ulumul Quran Banda Aceh. Penelitian dilakukan dengan metode campuran, melibatkan seluruh siswa MAS Ulumul Quran Banda Aceh yang berjumlah 260 siswa. Hasil penelitian menyimpulkan bahwa tidak ada hubungan yang signifikan antara pengetahuan dengan kemauan menerima vaksinasi COVID-19 pada siswa MAS Ulumul Quran di Banda Aceh. Hal ini juga dapat diartikan bahwa tingkat pengetahuan siswa tidak memiliki hubungan dengan kesediaannya untuk menerima vaksinasi COVID-19.Kata Kunci: Covid-19, pengetahuan, kemauan, vaksinasi

Abstract

Abstract: This reasearch seeks to explore the sustainability of Sanitair's business in terms of the economics education of business practitioners. It was conducted by using qualitative approach of phenomenology. The research informants was the owner who run the businesses for more than 20 years. The results showed that business sustanbility developed after implementing economics education in terms of production, distribution activities, and consumption of raw materials, wider range of product sales, also open the new businesses due to the high demand toward the product.Keywords: business Suistanbility, economics Education, business management, business activityAbstrak: Tujuan penelitian adalah menganalisis keberlangsungan usaha Sanitair ditinjau dari penerapan pendidikan ekonomi para pelaku usaha. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode kualitatif jenis fenomenologi. Informan penelitian adalah pelaku usaha sanitair yang memiliki usaha lebih dari 20 tahun. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan keberlangsungan usaha sanitair pelaku usaha dikategorikan baik dan berkembang setelah menerapkan pendidikan ekonomi dalam hal aktivitas produks, distribusi, dan konsumsi bahan baku dibuktikan dengan semakin berkembangnya usaha sanitair, jangkauan penjualan produk lebih luas, serta pelaku usaha dapat membuka usaha baru dikarenakan omzet dari usaha meningkat.Kata kunci: keberlangsungan usaha, pendidikan ekonomi, manajemen bisnis, aktifitas bisnis

Abstract

Abstract: This research is aimed at (1) finding out whether the EFL students taught using Google docs show better writing ability than those taught without using Google docs, (2) discovering if there is a significant difference in writing ability between the introverted students and extroverted students taught using Google docs. This research involved two intact classes of ten graders in SMA Kristen Charis Malang consisting of 29 and 28 students respectively that were randomly selected to be the experimental and control group.  The experimental group worked collaboratively outside the class using Google docs whereas the control group worked in the face-to-face class. Both groups were assigned to compose an expository essay based on the topics given in the pre-test and post-test to reveal their writing achievement before and after the treatment. The results showed that the mean score of experimental group was significantly higher than that of the control group. When it comes to personality learning styles, there was no significant difference in the mean scores obtained by the extroverted students and introverted students.Keywords: google docs, writing ability, expository essay, personality, learning styles

Abstract

Abstract: E-portfolios have been shown to be particularly effective in providing opportunities for students to tell their learning journey of their learning from beginning to end. In contrast to paper-and-pencil-based assessments, e-portfolios allow students to demonstrate the more actual knowledge, attitudes and skills that they acquired in their learning process. This article describes the development of an e-portfolio-for value-added assessment model for pre-service teacher education. The research employed the ADDIE model and involves three experts and 87 students of Non-formal Education Program Universitas Pattimura, Ambon and 122 Elementary Teacher Training Program Universitas Muhammadiyah Pringsewu, Lampung. Data were collected through questioners and checklists and were analyzed both qualitatively and quantitatively. The result of this study showed that e-portfolios model was effective in asses students' learning achievement, tracking and measuring students’ progress as well as diagnosing deficiencies that require improvement. This study offer recommendation regarding the application of the developed model of assessment in these institutions.Keywords: e-portfolios, digital assessment, value-added assessment, pre-service teacher education

Abstract

Abstract: The correlation between speaking performance and grammatical competence has been a debatable issue. It is also believed that cognitive learning styles and learning strategies are two of the many factors that influence students' language achievement. This study aims to see the relationship between the argumentative speaking score variable and the multiple choice grammar test on 30 students of Economics at STIE Malangkuceswara. The results showed that there was no significant correlation between speaking performance and grammatical competence between cognitive learning styles and the Strategy Inventory for Language Learning (SILL). However in small differences, independent field students (FI) outperformed in speaking, whereas field-dependent students (FD) outperformed grammar competencies. Additionally, the study found that the students who scored higher on either the speaking or grammar tests used cognitive and meta-cognitive strategies more often than those who scored lower.Keywords: speaking performance, grammatical competence, cognitive learning style, field independent, field dependent, strategy inventory for language learning (sill)Abstrak: Korelasi antara kecakapan berbicara dan kemampuan bertata bahasa telah menjadi masalah yang masih diperdebatkan. Gaya belajar kognitif dan strategi belajar diyakini sebagai dua dari banyak faktor yang mempengaruhi nilai bahasa siswa. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk melihat hubungan antara nilai tes kecakapan berbicara argumentatif dan nilai tata bahasa dalam tes pilihan ganda yang didapatkan dari 30 mahasiswa Ilmu Ekonomi STIE Malangkuceswara. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan tidak ditemukannya korelasi yang signifikan antara kecakapan berbicara dan kemampuan tata bahasa bedasarkan gaya belajar kognitif dan Strategy Inventory for Language Learning (SILL). Namun, terdapat perbedaan kecil dimana mahasiswa yang cenderung Field Independent (FI) unggul dalam berbicara, sedangkan mereka yang cenderung Field Dependent (FD) lebih unggul dalam tata bahasa. Selain itu, penelitian ini menemukan bahwa mereka yang mendapat nilai lebih tinggi baik dalam tes berbicara atau tata bahasa telah menggunakan strategi kognitif dan meta-kognitif lebih sering daripada yang mendapat nilai lebih rendah. Kata kunci: kecakapan berbicara, kemampuan tata bahasa, gaya belajar kognitif, field independent, field dependent, strategy inventory for language learning (sill)

Abstract

Abstract: Writing in English teaching and learning is perceived as a difficult skill due to internal and external factors. This study investigated the effectiveness of two writing portfolios (working writing portfolio and showcase writing portfolio) on high school students’ writing achievement utilizing quasi-experimental design. The effectiveness of the two writing portfolios was tested by comparing pre-treatment and post-treatment samples using Independent Samples t test between both treatments. Regarding to .05 significance of level, the p value was compared to .025 for each side of 2-tailed research. The result showed p value .028 which was higher than .025. It signified that there was not significant different effect between both writing portfolios.Keywords: writing portfolios, working writing portfolio, students’ writing achievementAbstrak: Menulis dalam belajar mengajar Bahasa Inggris dianggap sebagai keterampilan yang sulit karena faktor internal dan eksternal. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui keefektifan dua portofolio menulis (Working Writing Portfolio dan Showcase Writing Portfolio) terhadap prestasi menulis siswa menengah atas dengan menggunakan desain quasi-experimental. Keefektifan kedua portofolio menulis tersebut diuji dengan membandingkan sampel nilai Pre-treatment dan Post-treatment menggunakan uji Independent Samples t antara kedua perlakuan. Merujuk pada tingkat signifikansi .05, nilai p dibandingkan dengan .025 untuk masing-masing bagian dari penelitian 2 arah. Hasil uji menunjukkan nilai p .028 yang lebih tinggi dari .025. Abstract

Abstract: KOMPAK (Youth Community of Care and Anti Poverty) is a youth community that help eradicate poverty. The community has a focus on learning and education.  This article describes the youth community role to encourage underprivillaged students in Bunulrejo Malang city.  This study aims to examine the role of youth community to empowering society’s education and citizens empowerment by KOMPAK (Youth Community of Care and Anti Poverty). This study used a qualitative approach with phenomenology design. Checking the validity of the data using the source triangulation method. The subjects of the study were community administrators, students, alumni and parents. The result of the study are as follows. The role of youth community are 1) financing of school fees for underprivileged students, 2) free tutoring for underprivillaged students and 3) career coaching for students. Whereas the citizens empowerment are 1) involving the citizens to become donors to the community, 2) helping to reduce poverty through educational and learning activities for underprivileged students, 3) the citizens and parent s felt helped and blissful because of all benefits given by this community.Keywords: youth community, youth empowerment, community role Abstrak: KOMPAK (Komunitas Pemuda Peduli dan Anti Kemiskinan) merupakan komunitas pemuda yang membantu pengentasan kemiskinan. Masyarakat memiliki fokus pada pembelajaran dan pendidikan. Artikel ini mendeskripsikan peran komunitas pemuda untuk mendorong siswa kurang mampu di kota Bunulrejo Malang. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengkaji peran komunitas pemuda dalam pemberdayaan pendidikan masyarakat dan pemberdayaan warga oleh KOMPAK (Komunitas Pemuda Peduli dan Anti Kemiskinan). Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif dengan desain fenomenologi. Pengecekan keabsahan data menggunakan metode triangulasi sumber. Subyek penelitian adalah pengurus masyarakat, mahasiswa, alumni dan orang tua. Hasil penelitian adalah sebagai berikut. Peran komunitas pemuda adalah 1) pembiayaan biaya sekolah bagi siswa kurang mampu, 2) bimbingan belajar gratis bagi siswa kurang mampu dan 3) pembinaan karir bagi siswa. Sedangkan pemberdayaan warga adalah 1) melibatkan warga untuk menjadi donatur bagi masyarakat, 2) membantu pengentasan kemiskinan melalui kegiatan pendidikan dan pembelajaran bagi siswa kurang mampu, 3) warga dan orang tua merasa terbantu dan bahagia karena semua manfaat yang diberikan ini. masyarakat.Kata kunci: komunitas pemuda, pemberdayaan pemuda, peran masyarakat
