Abstract

This study explicitly aims to evaluate the effects of implementing a semi-intensive husbandry system on the balance between livestock productivity and animal welfare outcomes. The research employed a descriptive-analytical approach, collecting quantitative data on production performance (including growth trends and feed-use efficiency) and animal welfare indicators through field observations and structured interviews, along with secondary data obtained from relevant literature and technical reports. The parameters analyzed included livestock production performance, feeding management, housing environment conditions, animal health status, and animal welfare indicators. The results indicate that a semi-intensive husbandry system can improve production efficiency without neglecting livestock welfare, as reflected in stable average production performance values, controlled feeding efficiency, and a high proportion of livestock classified in good health and welfare conditions. Improvements were particularly associated with the regulation of housing duration, access to feed and water, and the provision of more adequate space for movement. However, the effectiveness of this system is strongly influenced by the quality of husbandry management and the consistent application of animal welfare standards. This study is limited by its descriptive design and site-specific scope, which may restrict the generalization of the findings. In conclusion, a semi-intensive husbandry system has the potential to serve as a sustainable husbandry model when supported by sound management practices and continuous monitoring of livestock welfare.

Abstract

This study examined the efficacy of the empty chair technique in reducing stress levels among stressed female adolescents in secondary education settings. A quasi-experimental, one-group pretest-posttest design was employed. The sample comprised 74 high school female students selected through purposive sampling based on pre-established stress symptomatology criteria. Psychological distress was assessed using the Perceived Stress Scale (PSS-10), a 10-item unidimensional instrument with demonstrated validity (Cronbach's α = 0.81) and internal consistency across adolescent populations. The empty chair technique intervention was administered across 8 weekly sessions (60-minute duration per session), conducted by trained Gestalt counselors following manualized protocol. Data were analyzed using paired-samples t-tests with calculation of Cohen's d effect sizes and 95% confidence intervals. Mean perceived stress scores decreased significantly from pretest (M = 18.59, SD = 9.18) to posttest (M = 15.85, SD = 9.57), representing a reduction of 2.74 points (95% CI: 1.32–4.16). Paired-samples t-test revealed this reduction was statistically significant, t(73) = 2.91, p = 0.004, with a moderate effect size (Cohen's d = 0.29). The magnitude of change suggests clinically meaningful stress reduction, as approximately 68% of participants demonstrated measurable improvement exceeding one standard error of measurement. The Empty Chair Technique demonstrates efficacy as a school-based, brief psychosocial intervention for reducing psychological stress among adolescents. Future investigations should employ randomized controlled designs with longer follow-up assessments, standardized adherence measures, and multi-method outcome evaluation to establish robust evidence for dissemination within school counseling programs.

Abstract

Teacher performance is a key determinant of educational quality and school effectiveness and is shaped by the interaction of organizational and psychological factors. This study examines a multivariate model of teacher performance by analyzing the direct and indirect effects of transformational leadership, empowerment, and trust through achievement motivation among junior high school teachers in Bekasi City. A quantitative survey design was employed involving 177 teachers selected through multistage proportional random sampling from 19 schools across six districts. Data were collected using validated scales adapted from established studies and measured on a five-point Likert scale. The data were analyzed using Structural Equation Modeling–Partial Least Squares (SEM-PLS) to assess direct and indirect relationships, complemented by the SITOREM method for indicator prioritization. The results indicate that transformational leadership (β = 0.351), empowerment (β = 0.195), trust (β = 0.271), and achievement motivation (β = 0.189) have significant positive direct effects on teacher performance, while transformational leadership and empowerment also exert indirect effects through trust (β = 0.091; β = 0.055) and achievement motivation (β = 0.075; β = 0.033). The structural model explains a substantial proportion of variance in teacher performance (R²), indicating strong model robustness. SITOREM analysis identifies work quantity, job achievement, and achievement stimulation as priority indicators for improvement, whereas work quality and teamwork should be maintained. This study contributes theoretically by validating a multivariate teacher performance model and practically by providing a data-driven framework to help school leaders and policymakers strategically enhance teacher performance in secondary education contexts.

Abstract

Understanding the psychological mechanisms that enhance job satisfaction remains a critical issue, particularly in organizational contexts characterized by high interpersonal demands. Forgiveness at work has been increasingly recognized as a positive psychological resource that may foster healthier work relationships; however, its underlying mechanism in shaping job satisfaction remains underexplored. This study aims to examine the mediating role of work engagement in the relationship between forgiveness at work and job satisfaction. Using a quantitative approach, data were collected from 456 permanent employees of a private organization in Indonesia and analyzed using Structural Equation Modeling (SEM) with SmartPLS. The findings indicate that forgiveness at work has a significant indirect effect on job satisfaction through work engagement, demonstrating a meaningful mediation relationship. These results suggest that forgiveness contributes to job satisfaction primarily by strengthening employees’ emotional and cognitive attachment to their work. The study provides theoretical insight by clarifying the psychological pathway linking forgiveness and job satisfaction, and offers practical implications for organizations seeking to enhance employee well-being through relational and engagement-based interventions.

Abstract

Bullying behavior among junior high school students remains a significant concern, particularly in relation to students’ self-regulation abilities. This study aims to examine changes in bullying behavior and self-regulation following group counseling interventions using the “DAMAI” role-play strategy (Listen, Observe, Understand, Invite Interaction). The study employed a one-group pretest–posttest experimental design involving students identified as bullying perpetrators (N = 32). Data were collected using Bullying Behavior and Self-Regulation scales and analyzed using a paired sample t-test. The results showed statistically significant differences between pretest and posttest scores. Bullying behavior scores decreased significantly, while self-regulation scores increased significantly (p < 0.001). These findings indicate that group counseling with the “DAMAI” role-play strategy is associated with positive changes in students’ bullying behavior and self-regulation. The study offers practical implications for Guidance and Counseling teachers in implementing structured group counseling interventions to address bullying in school settings.

Abstract

Education in Indonesia is currently transforming through the implementation of the Independent Curriculum (Kurikulum Merdeka), which emphasizes meaningful learning and a student-centered approach. However, initial observations at Muhammadiyah 08 Dau Elementary School revealed low levels of concentration and understanding among fifth-grade students regarding electrical energy, due to the abstract nature of the content and the limitations of interactive learning media. This study aimed to develop a Digital Pop-up Book as an innovative medium to improve students’ concentration and understanding, using the ADDIE development model involving 20 students. Data were collected through observations of student engagement, concentration questionnaires, and conceptual understanding tests before and after the use of the media. Validation results showed very high feasibility (86% from content experts and 82% from media experts), while classroom implementation showed an increase in concentration from the medium to the high category, as well as significant improvements in learning outcomes. This study demonstrated that the Digital Pop-up Book is efficacious in improving focus, participation, and understanding of electrical energy concepts, while providing theoretical contributions to the development of visual-interactive learning media for abstract science materials and supporting the implementation of the Independent Curriculum in elementary schools.

Abstract

Abstract

This study explores the role of medical social workers in supporting the development of social interaction skills among children with autism in the Rehabilitation Medicine Unit of Prof. Dr. R.D. Kandou General Hospital, Manado. Using a qualitative descriptive design, data were obtained through in-depth interviews, participatory observation, and document review. Credibility was ensured through triangulation across data sources and methods, followed by member checking with key informants. The findings show that four roles of medical social workers contribute substantially to children’s social interaction development. As counselors, they facilitate parental acceptance and guide families in creating interactive home environments. As motivators, they strengthen parents’ emotional readiness and consistency in applying therapy strategies. Through the liaison role, they expand children’s access to early childhood education and peer-based social experiences. As consultants, they coordinate information and align approaches across interdisciplinary teams, enabling consistent social learning settings. The educator role remains limited due to staffing constraints. This study contributes by clarifying the mechanisms through which medical social workers enhance social interaction—primarily via parental engagement, therapy continuity, and increased social exposure—while offering context-specific insights from an Indonesian hospital-based rehabilitation setting.

Abstract

This study investigates the influence of capital gains and the dividend payout ratio on stock trading volume among Indonesian infrastructure companies. Using panel data from 47 firms listed on the Indonesia Stock Exchange during the 2020–2023 period and applying multiple linear regression analysis, the findings reveal that both capital gains and dividend payout ratios have a statistically significant positive effect on trading volume. Notably, the dividend payout ratio demonstrates a stronger influence than capital gains, indicating the importance of dividend policy in shaping investor behavior. These results suggest that consistent and transparent dividend policies can enhance market liquidity and investor confidence in the infrastructure sector, offering valuable implications for corporate financial strategies, regulatory considerations, and investment decision-making.

Abstract

This study examines the implementation and outcomes of East Java’s Desa Berdaya (Empowered Village) program through the lens of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), with a focus on poverty alleviation (SDG 1). Employing a qualitative case study approach and grounded in Asset-Based Community Development (ABCD) theory, we analyze two villages—Ketapanrame (tourism) and Sidoharjo (maggot farming). Findings reveal that village economic branding successfully leverages local assets, enhances community welfare, and fosters independence. However, sustainability challenges such as fluctuating tourist visits and land constraints threaten long-term impact. The study contributes to the literature on community-driven development and offers policy insights for scaling locally-grounded SDG initiatives in emerging economies
