Abstract

The research investigated, the Effect of Flipped Classroom Strategy on Writing Ability of Recount Text at Grade X of SMA Swasta Muhammadiyah 8 Kisaran In 2023/2024 Academic Year. Employing a quantitative approach with an experimental pre-test and post-test design. The research focused on students of grades X-3 and X-8, selected through purposive sampling. Oral performance was assessed through pre-test and post-test evaluations togauge the effectiveness of Flipped Classroom Strategy in enhancing students' writing skills, particularly in recount text. The results revealed a notable improvement in writing ability following the implementation of Flipped Classroom. Statistical analysis using the t- test formula that indicated significant improvements, as evidenced by t-scores surpassing the critical value at a significance level of 0,05. These findings support the efficacy of Flipped Classroom Strategy in enhancing students' writing ability in recount text. The calculation of the scores by using t-test for the degree of freedom (df) 50 at level significance 0,05 where the t-critical value is 2,84. The result of the analysis showed that t-score is higher than t-table 2,01 < 2,84 > 2,68  at the level of the significance 0,05 with the degree of freedom (df) 50. It means that Ha is accepted and Ho is rejected.Keywords: Flipped ClassroomStrategy, Writing Abillity, Recount Text

Abstract

The purpose of this research is whether there is a significant the Influence of Discovery Learning Methods on Students’ Writing Descriptive Text in Using of Athlete Vlog Media at grade X SMA Negeri 2 Tanjung Balai in 2023/2024 Academic Year. This type of research is a quasi-experiment with a two-group research design, namely pretest and posttest. The population in this research were all grade X classes consisting of 7 classes. The samples of this research were two classes (class X-1 and class X-2) which were taken by random sampling. In class X-1 as an experimental class using the discovery learning method with athlete vlog media and in class X-2 as a control class with conventional learning methods. After the learning was completed, a post test was obtained with the average results of the experimental class 78.27 and the control class 46,77. The t- test results obtained t-score = 23,16> t-table 2.00 Then Ha is accepted. Thus, it is obtained that there is an influence on student learning outcomes using the discovery learning method using athlete Vlog media on student learning outcomes in descriptive text material in class X SMA Negeri 2 Tanjung Balai.Keywords: Influence, Discovery Learning, Descriptive Text, Vlog

Abstract

This research aims to determine whether there is an effect of the Discovery Learning model on students' ability in writing narrative text at grade X SMK N 6 Tanjungbalai. This research is experimental research. Data collection techniques using observation, tests and documentation. The sample is divided into two groups, the experimental group and control group. There are two variables and two groups in this this research. This design is concerned with treatment and outcomes. The data will be collected from the pre-test and post-test to determine the ineffectiveness of the Discovery Learning Model in teaching writing. The population in this research was all of X classes in SMK N 6 Tanjungbalai, consist of 4 classes. They were two marketing classes and two farmasi classes. The research sample were two groups, which were X Farmasi 1 as experimental class used the discovery learning model and X Farmasi 2 as control group used conventional model. After the learning is completed, a post test is obtained After the learning process was complete, the average results of each group's post-tests are different. The average of the experimental group was 68.34 and the average of the post test results of the conventional group was 59.09. The result of the analysis showed that t-test is higher that t-table (6,92 > 2,00) at the level of significance 0,05 with the degree of freedom 68. It means that Ha is accepted and Ho is rejected. There is a significant the influence of Discovery Learning Model on students’ ability in writing narrative text using YouTube.Keywords: Discovery Learning Model, Writing, Narrative Text.

Abstract

This research aims to examine the effect of Problem Based Learning (PBL) Model on students reading comprehension of narrative text at grade XI of SMA Swasta Nasional Petatal in 2024/2025 academic year. Using a quantitative method with a pre-test and post-test experimental design, this research involved students in class XI-A and XI-B who were selected through a random sampling technique. Students' reading comprehension was assessed through pre-test and post-test results to determine the effectiveness of the PBL model in improving their understanding of narrative texts. The results showed a significant increase in reading comprehension, with an average score increase of 9.1% in one group and 15.8% in the other group. Data analysis using the t-test revealed that the increase was significant, as evidenced by the t-scores value exceeding the critical value at the 0,05 significance level. With degrees of freedom (df) 68 and a significance level of 0,05, the t-scores value was obtained of 7,16 which was greater than the t-table, which was 1,668 (7,16 > 1,668). These results indicate that the alternative hypothesis (Ha) is accepted, which confirms the effectiveness of the PBL model in improving students' reading comprehension of narrative texts.

Abstract

This research is quantitative research using the True Experiment method. This research aims to determine the effect of project-based learning models on students writing skills in procedure text at grade X of Mas Al-Washliyah Tanjung Tiram.  The population in this research were all class X students totaling 170 students. Determination of the sample using random sampling techniques. Based on this technique, a sample class was obtained with a sample size of 68 students, namely class X-3 = 34 Experimental class, and class X-4 = 34 as the Control class. The data collection technique used a writing essay test, namely pre-test and post-test. in this study the researcher conducted a normality test, paired sample t-test, and independent sample t-test using SPSS version 25.0. The results showed that there were differences in the writing skills of students who used the project-based learning model, with those who did not use the project-based learning model. The difference is shown from the results of the independent sample t-test, namely the   Tcount value at output = 4,890, while the T table value at the product moment table (0.05) = 1.668, with a df value of 66, then the criteria for testing the research hypothesis are Tcount > Ttable, so the hypothesis null (Ho) is rejected, and the alternative hypothesis (Ha) is accepted. This proves that there is a significant influence of the project-based learning model on the writing ability of class X students of MAS AL-Washliyah Tanjung Tiram.

Abstract

Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui apakah penggunaan model Problem Based Learning (PBL) berpengaruh signifikan terhadap kemampuan siswa dalam menulis teks laporan kelas X SMA N 1 Sei Kepayang tahun ajaran 2024/2025. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode kuantitatif dengan desain eksperimen yang melibatkan dua kelas: kelas eksperimen dan kelas kontrol. Populasi penelitian ini adalah seluruh siswa kelas X SMA N 1 Sei Kepayang. Sampel penelitian ini terdiri dari 25 siswa dari kelas eksperimen dan 25 siswa dari kelas kontrol. Instrumen pengumpulan data adalah tes menulis, di mana siswa diminta untuk menulis teks laporan berdasarkan satu dari tiga topik yang diberikan. Data dianalisis menggunakan rumus uji-t. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa nilai rata-rata kelas eksperimen meningkat dari 29,9 pada tes awal menjadi 65,4 pada tes akhir, sedangkan kelas kontrol meningkat dari 29,6 menjadi 38,7. Ini menunjukkan bahwa hipotesis alternatif (Ha) diterima dan hipotesis nol (H₀) ditolak.

Abstract

This research aimed to find out whether the effectiveness of the Understanding by Design (UbD) approach in enhancing students' skills in writing descriptive texts. The study was conducted on Grade X students at SMK Tengku Amir Hamzah during the 2024/2025 academic year. A quantitative research method was employed, with data collected through essay-based tests. The findings revealed that the experimental group had an average pre-test score of 58.57, while the control group averaged 47.10, indicating a 20.62% improvement. The use of Understanding by Design in teaching descriptive writing proved to be effective in improving students’ performance. Data analysis was carried out using a t-test, which showed a t-score of 3.88, higher than the critical value of 2.012 at a 46-degree of freedom significance level. This result confirms that the alternative hypothesis (Ha) was accepted, and the null hypothesis (Ho) was rejected. Keywords: Writing Skil, Descriptive text, Understanding by Design

Abstract

Abstract This research aims to determine the significant Effect of Project Based Learning (PJBL) Model on Writing Descriptive Text Assisted with Canva Application. This research was Quantitative used a Quasi Experimental design. This research was conducted at SMA Negeri 1 Air Batu. The research population was all class X students' of SMA Negeri 1 Air Batu for the 2024/2025 Academic Year. The sampling technique used random sampling with a total sample of 56 students, namely Experiment Class using PJBL Model assisted with Canva Application and Control Class using conventional media. Data collection instruments include Test, Treatment, and Observations. Before being given treatment, the mean pre-test score in the Experiment class was 60.6 and the Control class mean pre-test score was 52.7. After being given treatment, the mean post-test score for the Experiment class increased by 31.18% to 80.1, while in the Control class it increased by 20.8% to 63.7. The result of the analysis showed that t-score was higher than t-table 5.3 > 1.673 at the level of significance 0.05 with the degree of freedom (df) 54. It means that Ha is accepted and H0 is rejected. Abstract

The purpose of this study was determine whether there was an effect of using Problem Based Learning Model on the Students' Reading Comprehension of Recount Text at Grade X SMA Al-Mashum Sidodadi In 2024/2025. This research is quantitative research with design of two class, exprimental class and control class. The Population of this research was all class X of SMA Al-Mashum Sidodadi. The sample of this research were taken from 29 students of exprimental class (X-2) and 29 students of control class (X-1). The instrument for collecting data was a multiple choices test. The data was analyzed by using t-test formula. From this analysis, the mean score of pre-test in exprimental class was higher than and the mean score of pre-test in control class (48,4 > 40,2) meanwhile the mean score of post-test in exprimental class was higher than the mean score of post-test in control class (80,7 > 67,8). This research found that using Problem Based Learning Model has significant effect in reading comprehension. It can be proved by the result that tscore = 6,3 was higher than the ttable = 1,673 with the significant 0,05 or it can be understood as tscore > ttable (5%) = 6,3 1,673. So, Ha is accepted. In another word, using Problem Based Learning Model more effective and more significant than using conventional model.

Abstract

The effect of PjBL (Project Based Learning) strategy on students writing ability in recount text based on learning product at XII grade of SMA Negeri 1 Meranti in Academic Years of 2024/2025. Skripsi. English Education Study Program, Teacher Training and Education Faculty, Asahan University, 2025. Advisor: Paisal Manurung, S.S, M.S The research was conducted at SMA Negeri 1 Meranti, which located on Perk. Sei Balai, Kec. Meranti, Kabupaten Asahan, North Sumatera. The research choose SMA Negeri 1 Meranti. Data collection was be carries out on the population of class XII-IPA students in January to February 2025, in the 2024/2025 Academic Year. The subject of this research are class XII-MIPA 1 and XII- MIPA 2 students of SMA Negeri 1 Meranti. Subject selection is based on the stratified random sampling technique. Each subject are divided into 2 groups, namely, experiment and control class. There are 36 students in each class. In the experience class there were 20 students who were female and 16 students who were male, while in the control class there were 26 students who were female and 10 students who were male. This research was conducted using an experimental design which aims to find out whether there is a significant effect between the used of the Project Based Learning (PjBL) strategy on students writing ability in recount text based learning product. Based on the results of data analysis and discussion in the previous chapter, it shows that the mean post-test score was 70.86, which means there was an increase of 29,8% after implementing the Project Based Learning (PjBL) Model in the experimental class compared to the pre-test mean of 54,58. So. (Ha) is accepted and (Ho) is rejected, a result, students pay more attention to the learning process and obtain better result. Keywords: Project Based Learning(PjBL) Strategy, Writing Ability.
