Abstract

Agricultural practices in drylands need to be continuously encouraged so that communities can utilize existing efficient irrigation technology. Irrigation tests on perforated pipe networks need to be conducted to test the distribution of secondary discharge due to the addition of pipe length in the lateral network of the perforated irrigation system. The test was conducted to determine the ability of the irrigation system to provide flow discharge in the primary and secondary pipe networks and the approach to calculating the perforated discharge network. The irrigation test was conducted on three lateral perforated pipe networks with a diameter of ½” and a perforation hole distance of 0.6m, a water tower with a capacity of 200 liters and a height of 4 meters. The perforated flow discharge was analyzed using basic data in the form of head and network design, the results of the analysis were presented in graphs and tables. The results showed that the secondary network flow rates decreased as the network moved further from the water source. An average increase in flow rate of 0.004 l/s was observed for each 0.1 m increase in head. The distribution of secondary flow rates, with variations in pipe length every 60 cm from hole 1 to 6, resulted in decreasing flow rates. In secondary network 1, the flow rate was 0.301 l/s–0.239 l/s, in secondary network 2, the flow rate was 0.276 l/s–0.226 l/s, and in secondary network 3, the flow rate was 0.267 l/s–0.221 l/s. The difference in secondary flow rates across pipe holes 1 to 6 obtained in secondary 1 was 0.06 l/s, in secondary 2 was 0.052 l/s, and in secondary 3 was approximately 0.049 l/s.

Abstract

This research aims to deeply analyze the implementation of rewards and punishments, and the underlying policies, within the context of human resource development at The Tamarind Resort Nusa Lembongan. Employing a qualitative approach, data was collected through direct observation and in-depth interviews with the Resort Manager, HRD, and Supervisors. The findings indicate that the implementation of rewards and punishments at this hotel is highly structured and development-oriented. Rewards are diverse, encompassing direct recognition from top management, performance bonuses, appreciation linked to positive online guest reviews (impacting promotions and salary increments), and career development opportunities such as coaching and shadowing. Conversely, punishments are applied in an educational and supportive manner, prioritizing re-training and guidance before formal sanctions, with HR and Supervisors actively involved in supporting behavioral improvement. The hotel's policies are comprehensively designed to be clear, integrated, and progressive, incorporating non-financial incentives, linking performance to rewards, and ensuring a gradual, rehabilitation-focused disciplinary process. The consistent execution of both systems reflects an effective HR management policy that strengthens discipline, enhances motivation, and fosters optimal employee growth and performance.

Abstract

Mud crab (Scylla serrata) is a high-value fishery commodity with promising aquaculture prospect. Moling (shedding of the shell) is a crucial physiological prosess for crab growth, and its rate is strongly influenced by environmental factors, particulary salinity, whicth plays a role in maintaining the organism’s osmotic balance. This study aimed to determine the effect of different salinity levels on the molting percentage, survival rate (SR), feed conversion ratio (FCR), and absolute weight gain of mud crabs. The research was conducted for 30 days at the Wet Laboratory of the faculty of Fisheries, University 45 Mataram, using a Completely Randomized Design (CRD) with three salinity treatments: P1 (10 ppt), P2 (15 ppt), and P3 (20 ppt), each with four replications. The observed parameters included molting percentage, survival rate, FCR, and absolute weight gain. The results showed that differences in salinity did not have signivicant effecton all obsolute parameters. However, 10 ppt salinity (P1) showed the highest molting percentage of 62.5%, indicating that lower salinity increases the molting percentage in mud crabs. The highest absolute weight gain was also found in the 10 ppt salinity treatment (P1) reaching 18.14 grams, indicating an environment that supports crab growth. However, the highest FCR (6.97) was recorded at 20 ppt salinity (P3).

Abstract

Swamp eel (Monopterus albus) is one of the freshwater aquaculture commodities with high economic value and strong environmental adaptability. One of the key factors in the cultivation of Monopterus albus is the type of rearing media, which can affect growth and survival rate. This study aimed to determine the effect of different rearing media on the growth and survival rearing media on the growth and survival of Monopterus albus. The research was conducted at the wet Labotatory of the Faculty of Fisheries, Universitas 45 Mataram, using a Completely Randomized Design (CRD) with three type of rearing media: clean water (P1), mud (P2), and sand (P3), each with four replications. The observed parameters included specific growth rate (SGR), specific length growth rate (SLGR), survival rate (SR), feed conversion ratio (FCR), and water quality (temperature, pH, dissolved oxygen, and ammonia). The analysis of variance (ANOVA) showed that rearing media had a significant effect on SGR and SR (α < 0,05), but not on SLGR (α > 0.05). the best (lowest) FCR was recorded in the mud (1.85), while the highest was in the clean water media (2.23). water quality during the study remained within acceptable ranges for monopterus albus, with temperature ranging from 25-270C, pH 6.5-7.3, dissolved oxygen 4.65-6.2 mg/L. based on the result, mud (P2) is considered the most optimal rearing medium, as it closely resemble the natural habitat of Monopterus albus.

Abstract

The partnership model in broiler chicken farming helps farmers overcome limitations in capital, production facilities, and marketing. However, its implementation still faces production risks that may hinder business success. This study aims to describe the partnership mechanism and analyze production risks encountered by broiler chicken farmers in Bukit Liti Village, Kahayan Tengah District, Pulang Pisau Regency. A descriptive qualitative approach was applied, with data collected through observation, in-depth interviews, and documentation. The informants consisted of four plasma farmers and two company representatives (Technical Service and Branch Manager). Data analysis involved reduction, presentation, and conclusion drawing, while data validity was tested using source triangulation. The results reveal that the partnership mechanism includes farmer registration, provision of production inputs (DOC, feed, medicines), technical assistance, and marketing of harvests at a contracted price. Although the partnership reduces market risks, production risks remain significant, including Newcastle Disease outbreaks, extreme weather, uneven DOC quality, and feed delivery delays. Based on risk management theory, mitigation should focus on improving the quality of production inputs, providing intensive technical support, and offering risk management training. These measures can ensure the partnership operates sustainably and productively.
