Abstract

It’s important for employees to be environmentally friendly to support sustainability in the hospitality industry.  A hotel in Badung, Bali, has started some eco-friendly programs, but the staff's positive feelings about the environment and their involvement in sustainable activities are not as strong as they could be.  This study looks at how green organization culture and green training affect employee green training, both on their own and together, in a hotel in Badung Regency, Bali.  This study used a numbers-based approach and included 234 employees.  The study included 102 people chosen randomly.  We gathered information by sending out online surveys and used SPSS version 25 to analyze the data with multiple linear regression.  This study shows that having a culture focused on being environmentally friendly and providing green training both separately and together help employees act in an eco-friendly way.  Also, these two factors can explain 83. 8% of changes in how employees act in an environmentally friendly way.  The rest of the changes are affected by other factors that this study didn't cover.  This study shows that having a stronger focus on eco-friendly practices and training helps employees at a hotel in Badung, Bali, act in a more environmentally friendly way

Abstract

The hotel industry requires employer branding strategies to attract students as potential talent through internship programs, particularly when trainee needs do not always align with academic calendars. This study aims to analyze the employer branding strategy implemented by Radisson Blu Bali Uluwatu in attracting students to participate in its internship program and to examine students’ perceptions of the strategy in shaping internship interest. This study employed a qualitative approach using a case study method. The informants consisted of 11 participants: one Senior People & Culture representative, five students currently undertaking internships, and five students who had completed their internships. Data were collected through semi-structured interviews, participatory observation, and documentation, and analyzed using the Miles, Huberman, and Saldaña model with the assistance of NVivo. The findings show that employer branding was implemented through strengthening the hotel’s image, promotion, cooperation with educational institutions, benefits, a supportive work environment, mentoring, and learning opportunities through real work experiences. Students generally perceived the hotel’s employer branding positively based on interest value, social value, economic value, development value, and application value. These strategies contributed to students’ interest in choosing, undertaking, and recommending the internship program

Abstract

Policies aimed at accelerating investment often give rise to agrarian conflicts, particularly regarding the rights of customary law communities that maintain historical, social, cultural, and spiritual ties to their customary territories. This condition demonstrates the need for a national land law policy capable of balancing investment interests with the protection of indigenous peoples' rights. This study aims to analyze the direction of Indonesia's national land law policy in supporting investment, examine the legal protection afforded to indigenous peoples within the national land policy framework, and formulate an ideal land law policy that balances investment interests with the protection of indigenous peoples' rights. This research employs normative legal research using statutory, conceptual, and historical approaches. Legal materials were analyzed qualitatively through library research, including legislation, court decisions, books, and scholarly journals. The findings indicate that the current national land law policy is primarily oriented toward improving the investment climate through regulatory simplification and legal certainty. However, its implementation continues to face challenges, including agrarian conflicts and inadequate protection of indigenous peoples' rights. Therefore, the national land law policy should be reoriented toward an equitable investment model by strengthening the legal recognition of indigenous peoples, harmonizing land-related regulations, implementing the Free, Prior and Informed Consent (FPIC) principle, and promoting sustainable development grounded in agrarian justice and respect for the constitutional rights of indigenous peoples.

Abstract

Sexual violence against individuals with intellectual disabilities is a serious issue that highlights the persistent weakness of legal protections for vulnerable groups in Indonesia. In practice, victims often encounter obstacles in the evidentiary process due to cognitive limitations and a criminal justice system approach that tends to be overly formalistic. This study aims to examine the fulfillment of rights for victims of sexual crimes who have intellectual disabilities and analyzes the judge's *ratio decidendi* in Judgment Number 1245/Pid.B/2023/PN.Mdn using a normative method, supported by statutory and case-based approaches. A judicial approach is employed to conduct an in-depth analysis of the legal aspects of the case. The research demonstrates that the fulfillment of victims' rights has not been fully realized and that judicial reasoning remains focused on formal proof, failing to accommodate victim-oriented justice. Consequently, there is a need for criminal procedural law reform that is adaptive to the needs of persons with disabilities to ensure a higher level of legal certainty.

Abstract

The floating lift-net (*bagan apung*) business in several regions of Indonesia holds significant economic potential and is worthy of development. However, the business faces various challenges, such as fluctuating catch yields, seasonal changes, rising fuel prices, high operational costs, and unpredictable weather. These conditions can impact profitability and the sustainability of the fishermen's operations. Business feasibility analysis is a method used to assess whether a business is viable from both financial and economic perspectives. The research questions addressed in this study are: What are the investment costs, operational costs, revenues, and profits of the floating lift-net business in the waters of Batu Nampar, Jerowaru District, East Lombok Regency? Is the floating lift-net business in this area financially viable? What strategies are appropriate for developing this business? A quantitative descriptive research method was employed. The study found the following figures for the floating lift-net business in Batu Nampar Village: investment cost of Rp 62,120,000; total monthly cost of Rp 26,888,333; monthly revenue of Rp 37,875,000; and monthly profit of Rp 10,986,666.67. Financial analysis yielded an R/C ratio of 1.4, a Break-Even Point (BEP) in quantity of approximately 20,137 kg, a BEP in price of approximately Rp 1,271,063.9, and a Payback Period (PP) of 7 months and 5 days. The appropriate strategy for the floating lift-net business in the Batu Nampar waters is the SO (Strengths-Opportunities) strategy, which is an aggressive approach.

Abstract

This article examines the theoretical and empirical foundations of the shadow cabinet institution as a democratic accountability mechanism in the Indonesian political system. While shadow cabinets have functioned effectively in Westminster democracies as formal opposition institutions, their development in Indonesia remains fragmented due to structural factors including party cartelization, weak institutionalization of opposition roles, and electoral system dynamics that incentivize coalition-building over adversarial parliamentary opposition. Through systematic literature review and documentary analysis, this study argues that shadow cabinets offer Indonesia a viable institutional framework to strengthen horizontal accountability, formalize opposition functions in multiparty presidential systems, and enhance democratic resilience against executive dominance. The research identifies three critical gaps in Indonesian democratic practice: (1) the absence of formal opposition recognition in constitutional law; (2) weak differentiation between government and opposition parties; and (3) fragmented mechanisms for systematic scrutiny of executive performance. We propose that formalized shadow cabinet institutions could serve as a 'democratic sparring partner' to strengthen legislative oversight, institutionalize government accountability, and contribute to democratic deepening in the world's largest emerging Muslim democracy. The article concludes with actionable recommendations for constitutional reform and electoral system modifications to facilitate shadow cabinet institutionalization while accounting for Indonesia's specific institutional context
