Abstract

This study aims to describe and analyze the implementation of curriculum management and administration at SMA Negeri 8 Banjarmasin within the framework of the Independent Curriculum (Kurikulum Merdeka). Employing a descriptive qualitative approach through observation, interviews, and documentation, this research addresses a gap in previous studies that often discuss curriculum management in general but rarely highlight the integration of digital administration and teacher adaptation in secondary schools. The findings indicate that curriculum management is conducted in a wellplanned, collaborative, and adaptive manner, supported by a curriculum development team and proportional task distribution. Curriculum implementation applies blended learning and character-based approaches, while administration is digitally managed through the school website, Google Drive, e-report system, and Dapodik. The main challenge lies in technology adaptation among senior teachers, which is mitigated through training and mentoring. This study contributes theoretically by reinforcing the role of participatory and digital-based curriculum management in the Independent Curriculum framework, and practically by offering strategies to strengthen teacher readiness and administrative efficiency in secondary education

Abstract

The practice of temporary marriage or nikah mut’ah remains a controversial phenomenon, raising legal, religious, and social concerns, particularly regarding women’s protection and marital legality. This study aims to examine contract marriage from the perspectives of Islamic law and Indonesian marriage law, focusing on its legal basis, historical background, and social implications. This research employs a qualitative approach using a descriptive-analytical method. The data consist of primary and secondary sources. Primary data were obtained through semi-structured interviews with religious leaders, while secondary data were collected from literature reviews, including scholarly journals, books, statutory regulations, religious fatwas, and related legal documents. The findings indicate that although nikah mut’ah was temporarily permitted during the early period of Islam under emergency conditions, it was later permanently prohibited for contradicting the fundamental objectives of marriage in Islam. From the perspective of Indonesian positive law, contract marriage is also deemed invalid as it violates Law No. 1 of 1974 on Marriage and fails to fulfill the essential legal requirements of a lawful marriage. Furthermore, the practice generates significant negative impacts, such as legal uncertainty for women and children, social vulnerability, and family instability. This study concludes that contract marriage lacks both religious and legal legitimacy and poses greater social harm than potential benefits, thereby necessitating its avoidance to preserve the integrity of marriage as a social and religious institution

Abstract

This study is motivated by the need to strengthen Akidah Akhlak learning within the Merdeka Curriculum, which emphasizes meaningful, reflective, and character-oriented instruction. The study aims to examine the implementation of deep learning by Akidah Akhlak teachers at Madrasah Aliyah, focusing on teachers’ conceptual understanding, perceptions, instructional strategies, and experiences in classroom practice. A descriptive qualitative approach was employed, involving six Akidah Akhlak teachers from three Madrasah Aliyah in Medan City. Data were collected through participatory observation and in-depth interviews and analyzed using thematic analysis. The findings indicate that teachers understand deep learning as an approach that requires active student engagement, deeper meaning-making, and the integration of Islamic values into real-life contexts. The implementation of deep learning was most evident in analytical cognitive, metacognitive, spiritual integration, and contextual learning dimensions. However, the affective dimension, self-reflection and self-regulation, as well as creativity and innovation, have not yet been implemented optimally or consistently. These findings suggest that deep learning has the potential to enhance the quality of Akidah Akhlak learning within the Merdeka Curriculum, provided that teachers’ pedagogical capacity is strengthened to support more reflective, innovative, and transformative learning practices

Abstract

Marriage in Islam is a sacred contract that integrates spiritual, legal, and moral principles, in which mahar (dowry) and wali nikah (guardian) serve as essential pillars ensuring the validity of the marital bond. Although numerous classical and contemporary studies discuss these concepts, limited research has systematically compared their classical jurisprudential foundations with the challenges posed by modern social dynamics, creating a clear research gap. This study therefore aims to analyze the legal basis, philosophical meaning, and contemporary relevance of mahar and wali nikah using a qualitative library research method grounded in normative-juridical analysis. By examining interpretations from the Qur’an, Hadith, and scholarly opinions within the frameworks of usul fiqh and maqāṣid al-syarī‘ah, this article explores how these two pillars function as mechanisms of protection, justice, and ethical balance within Muslim family life. The findings reveal that mahar symbolizes responsibility, sincerity, and the honoring of women, while the wali nikah ensures the protection of women’s rights and the legitimacy of consent, especially amidst modern social issues such as materialistic practices of dowry and debates on women’s autonomy. This research contributes scientifically by offering an integrated analytical model that bridges classical fiqh and contemporary social realities, enriching current Islamic family law discourse and providing a normative foundation for policy and community education related to marriage ethics

Abstract

The moral crisis among adolescents in the modern era is a serious issue influenced by technological advancements, cultural globalization, and the weakening internalization of religious values. This study aims to examine the educational interpretation of Qur’anic verses as a solution to the moral crisis among adolescents. The research employs a library research method with a descriptive qualitative approach. Data are obtained from the Qur’an, classical and contemporary tafsir, and relevant scholarly journal articles, and are analyzed using content analysis techniques. The findings indicate that Qur’anic verses contain moral educational values such as honesty, responsibility, patience, compassion, and self-control, which are highly relevant to adolescent moral development. Contextual educational interpretation of Qur’anic verses can serve as a foundation for character formation and as a preventive and transformative solution in addressing the moral crisis in the modern era. The implications of this study indicate that Qur’anic value-based education needs to be contextually integrated into learning processes, family guidance, and social environments in order to strengthen adolescents’ character and moral resilience amid technological development and cultural globalization

Abstract

The world of digital technology has developed rapidly, intensifying the moral and character challenges of students, thus demanding a character development approach that is not merely normative but rooted in spiritual awareness. This study aims to formulate a conceptual framework for developing student character based on the principle of tawhid (Islamic law) that is relevant to ethical challenges in the digital era. This study used a literature review method with a qualitative approach through thematic analysis of reputable journal articles from the last five years and academic books from the last ten years. The results show that tawhid-based character development can strengthen students' internal self-control through the values of muraqabah (trust), amanah (trustworthiness), tabayyun (religious trust), digital iffah (religious trust), and online communication ethics. In conclusion, tawhid-based character development offers a more holistic and sustainable approach to shaping students' digital behavior that is moral and responsible. This study implies the importance of developing curricula, educational policies, and Islamic learning practices that integrate tawhid values as the foundation of students’ digital ethics in order to foster religious, responsible, and well-characterized behavior in the digital era

Abstract

This library research study examines the development of an inclusive Islamic Religious Education (PAI) curriculum in Madrasah Ibtidaiyah using a qualitative library research approach. Problem formulations include the form and process of inclusive PAI curriculum development in Indonesia's national policy context, implementation barriers for teachers and madrasahs, and ideal conceptual models responsive to learner diversity. Key findings reveal that inclusive PAI curriculum development typically involves minimal adaptations through duplication and modification of teaching strategies, with material adjustments via individualized approaches, visual media, and basic assessments, although student admission management and individual learning programs have been implemented in some madrasahs. Ideal designs incorporate egalitarian-pluralistic principles, Islamic tolerance competencies, and justice values for fostering tolerant generations in heterogeneous societies. Interpretation of findings highlights the gap between inclusive policies and technical modification practices, where empathy principles have yet to systematically transform curriculum structures, necessitating comprehensive reconstruction for meaningful learning. These align with grand curriculum differentiation theory based on tawhid and rahmatan lil-‘alamin, ensuring equal potential development without discrimination, and humanistic-democratic Islamic education theory. The study's novelty lies in its specific synthesis for madrasah ibtidaiyah, integrating curriculum design, inclusive management, Islamic values, and religious moderation, identifying partial modification gaps for radical goal-content-assessment models relevant nationally and globally. This contributes to strengthening inclusive PAI curricula as instruments for religious-tolerant character transformation.

Abstract

This study investigates the role of Islamic Religious Education (PAI) teachers in shaping students' akhlak in the digital era. The main problem is the degradation of students' morals due to exposure to negative digital content like toxic social media and AI, impacting Islamic values such as honesty, trustworthiness, and tolerance among junior and senior high school students. The research aims to analyze PAI teachers' strategies in integrating exemplary conduct, Islamic digital learning, and preventive approaches to foster adaptive akhlak. A qualitative phenomenological method with a case study approach was employed at three Islamic high schools in Batam, involving 50 students, 6 PAI teachers, and 4-month observations. Data were gathered through semi-structured interviews, participant observations, and Merdeka curriculum content analysis, validated by triangulation. Key terms include: akhlak (noble character based on Quran and Sunnah), PAI teacher (Islamic educator as role model or uswah hasanah), digital era (period dominated by information and communication technology), and akhlak formation (moral value internalization via habituation and Islamic digital literacy). Findings indicate PAI teachers effectively improved students' akhlak by 65% using blended learning models with platforms like Islamic YouTube and Qur'an apps, enhancing prayer discipline and online ethics. Teachers are advised to develop holistic digital literacy for metaverse challenges. This research contributes a theoretical framework for digital akhlak. The implications of this study highlight the importance of strengthening digital literacy competencies among PAI teachers, developing digital akhlak-based curricula, and fostering sustainable collaboration between schools and parents in guiding students’ moral behavior within virtual environments

Abstract

This study examines the role of audiovisual media in akhlak learning within the Islamic Religious Education (PAI) curriculum at junior high schools (SMP), addressing the decline in students' moral values due to non-educational digital content dominance and lack of concrete abstract material delivery. The main objectives are to reveal the phenomenological essence of teachers' and students' experiences and develop the Audiovisual-Akhlak Integrative Model (MAAI). Qualitative phenomenology method with literature review was employed, involving in-depth interviews, classroom observations, and content analysis at Indonesian SMPs over 3 months. Findings reveal that audiovisual media (3-5 minute akhlak KD-based animated videos) enhance retention by 70%, participation by 85%, and reduce disciplinary violations by 40% through value concretization (trustworthiness-patience), emotional response, and behavioral internalization via reflection-roleplay. MAAI integrates Dale's Cone of Experience, Al-Ghazali (ma'rifah-mahabbah-'amal), and Vygotsky for digital PAI. Key terms: akhlak internalization, audiovisual media, PAI curriculum, Islamic education phenomenology, multisensory learning. These results provide practical foundations for national PAI lesson plans and future longitudinal research. The implications of this study indicate that audiovisual media can be utilized as a strategic pedagogical instrument for strengthening character education, developing contextual PAI learning models, and supporting teachers in designing technology-based akhlak learning aligned with the digital generation's needs
