Abstract

The research was motivated by low mathematical communication skills of students and the lack of variety of teaching materials that can equip students to face the challenges of the 21st century including load activities to support mathematical communication skills. Based on these, this research aims to: (1) produce mathematics students worksheets (LKS) with STEM approach that supports mathematical communication skills of junior high school student and suitable for use in the mathematics learning. This development research was carried out by adopting the ADDIE Research Development model. The results showed that: (1) Mathematics Student Worksheets with the STEM (Science, Technology and Engineering and Mathematics) Approach that Supported Junior High School Students Mathematical Communication Skills that were feasible were used in terms of validation test results by experts with a percentage of eligibility reaching 84.77% is at the interval   4.20 which is 4.23 with the category very good; and the quality of worksheets based on student and teacher responses shows the criteria of practical with a percentage value of them are 75% and 85%.Penelitian ini dilatarbelakangi oleh rendahnya keterampilan komunikasi matematika siswa dan kurangnya berbagai bahan ajar yang dapat membekali siswa untuk menghadapi tantangan abad ke-21 termasuk kegiatan untuk mendukung keterampilan komunikasi matematika. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk: (1) menghasilkan Lembar Kerja Siswa matematika (LKS) dengan pendekatan STEM yang mendukung keterampilan komunikasi matematika siswa SMP dan cocok untuk digunakan dalam pembelajaran matematika. Penelitian pengembangan ini dilakukan dengan mengadopsi model penelitian dan pengembangan ADDIE. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa: (1) LKS Matematika dengan Pendekatan STEM (Sains, Teknologi dan Teknik dan Matematika) layak digunakan dengan hasil tes validasi oleh para ahli dengan persentase kelayakan mencapai 84,77% berada pada interval   4,20 yaitu 4,23 dengan kategori sangat baik; dan kualitas LKS berdasarkan respons siswa dan guru menunjukkan kriteria praktek dengan nilai persentase sebesar 75% dan 85%.

Abstract

This study aims to determine (1) how the learning motivation, self-regulated learning and verbal mathematical communication skills of students; and (2) how are students' learning motivation, self-regulated learning and mathematical communication skills in writing mathematics learning during the covid-19 pandemic. The research used is a mixed method type Sequential Exploratory Design. The population is students of class XI IPA SMA Negeri 1 Pringsewu. Data was collected using questionnaires, observations, documentation and written mathematical communication skills tests. The results of the study show that learning mathematics during the Covid-19 pandemic where learning motivation and self-regulated learning directly affect students' written mathematical communication skills, but verbal mathematical communication skills really need to be considered because they are still in the low category.Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui (1) bagaimana kemampuan komunikasi matematis secara lisan peserta didik; dan (2) bagaimana motivasi belajar, kemandirian belajar dan kemampuan komunikasi matematis secara tulis peserta didik dalam pembelajaran  matematika pada masa pandemi covid-19. Penelitian yang digunakan adalah mixed methods tipe Sequential Exploratory Design. Populasi dalam penelitian ini adalah peserta didik kelas XI IPA SMA N 1 Pringsewu. Pengumpulan data menggunakan kuesioner, observasi, dokumentsi dan tes kemampuan komunikasi matematis tulis. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan pembelajaran matematika selama pandemi Covid-19 dimana motivasi belajar dan kemandirian belajar mempengaruhi secara langsung kemampuan komunikasi matematis secara tulisan peserta didik, tetapi kemampuan komunikasi matematis secara lisan sangat perlu di perhatikan karena masig tergolong dalam kategori rendah.

Abstract

The aims of this research are to know the Problem-Solving Ability (PSA) in Missouri Mathematics Project (MMP) assisted by digital media and Discovery Learning (DL) models to achieve learning mastery, to know the comparison of PSA of MMP assisted by digital media and DL, and to know how PSA students based on Self Confidence (SC) of low and high category. Subjects are 12 students who are unique in the results of the PSA test and self confidence questionnaire. Data collection using documentation, questionnaire, test, and interview. The result is 16 out of 26 students achieved individual mastery, so the percentage of classical completeness was 61,54%, which means that the experimental class hadn’t yet reached 80% classical completeness; the PSA of MMP model assisted by digital media is better than DL model; students with high category sc achieve good criteria on each PSA indicators, whereas learners with low category SC achieve good criteria at the first PSA indicator.Tujuan penelitian mengetahui ketuntasan klasikal Kemampuan Pemecahan Masalah (KPM) pada pembelajaran daring model Missouri Mathematics Project (MMP) berbantuan media digital; mengetahui perbandingan KPM peserta didik model MMP berbantuan media dengan model Discovery Learning (DL); mengetahui KPM peserta didik model MMP berbantuan media digital ditinjau dari self confidence (sc). Penentuan sampel dan subjek menggunakan teknik purposive sampling. Subjek penelitian 12 peserta didik yang memiliki keunikan pada hasil tes KPM dan angket sc pada kelas eksperimen. Pengambilan data penelitian menggunakan dokumentasi, angket, tes, dan wawancara. Hasil penelitian 16 dari 26 peserta didik mencapai ketuntasan individual, sehingga persentase ketuntasan klasikal 61,54% yang artinya kelas eksperimen belum mencapai ketuntasan klasikal 80%, KPM peserta didik model MMP berbantuan media digital lebih baik daripada KPM peserta didik model DL, dan Peserta didik dengan sc tinggi mencapai kriteria baik pada setiap indikator KPM, sedangkan peserta didik dengan sc rendah mencapai kriteria baik pada indikator KPM pertama.

Abstract

Angle is one of the important materials to be studied because it is basic in learning geometry and many applications in life. However, students still have difficulty in learning angles. Therefore, it is necessary to design learning with the right context and approach to overcome the difficulties. This study aims to produce a learning trajectory that will help students for understanding angles. The activities were designed based on IRME with Joglo Traditional house context as the starting point. A design research method is used has three stages: preparing for the experiment, design experiment, and retrospective analysis. This study’s subjects were 6 students from SMP Negeri 1 Juwana with different abilities: high, medium, and low abilities. The result of this study was Learning Trajectory which consists of learning processes in four activities: observing the video of the joglo traditional house for understanding the concept of angles, drawing and measuring the angles; categorizing the angles types; solve contextual problems related to angles. In this study, the design experiment stage was limited to the pilot experiment stage. This study shows that learning design using the context of a traditional house can help students to understand the angle and can be an inspiration to explore local wisdom to introduce mathematics topics.Sudut merupakan salah satu materi yang penting dipelajari karena merupakan dasar dalam pembelajaran geometri dan juga banyak aplikasinya dalam kehidupan. Namun, siswa masih mengalami kesulitan dalam mempelajari sudut. Oleh karena itu, perlu dirancang pembelajaran sudut dengan konteks dan pendekatan yang tepat untuk mengatasi kesulitan tersebut. Penelitian ini bertujuan menghasilkan lintasan belajar yang membantu siswa dalam memahami sudut. Semua kegiatan didesain berbasis PMRI dengan konteks rumah adat joglo sebagai starting point. Metode design research digunakan terdiri dari tiga tahapan yaitu preparing for the experiment, design experiment, dan retrospective analysis. Subjek dari penelitian ini adalah 6 siswa dari SMP Negeri 1 Juwana dengan kemampuan yang berbeda yaitu kemampuan tinggi, sedang, dan rendah. Hasil dari penelitian adalah lintasan belajar  yang terdiri dari serangkaian proses pembelajaran dalam empat aktivitas yaitu mengamati video rumah adat joglo untuk memahami konsep sudut, menggambar dan mengukur besar sudut; mengkategorikan jenis-jenis sudut; dan menyelesaikan masalah kontekstual yang berkaitan dengan sudut. Pada penelitian ini, tahapan design experiment hanya terbatas tahap ujicoba pilot. Penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa pembelajaran dengan konteks rumah adat membantu siswa untuk memahami sudut dan dapat menjadi inspirasi untuk menggali kearifan lokal untuk memperkenalkan topik matematika.

Abstract

The purpose of this research is to analyze in depth the mathematical values contained in the buna woven fabric. The method used is a qualitative method with an ethnographic design because it will explain one of the cultural artifacts of the people of NTT, in this case the buna woven fabric. The results obtained are the motifs on the buna woven cloth that analyzed containing geometric and arithmetic concepts. From the analyzed quadrilateral characteristics, the quadrilateral found in the buna woven fabric is a rhombus. In addition, values or mathematical concepts on woven fabrics that can be taught to junior high school students include finding the formula for the area and perimeter of a rhombus using a triangle approach; calculate the area and circumference of a rhombus; arithmetic and geometric sequences and calculating the number of rhombic models on buna woven fabrics.Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk menganalisis secara mendalam nilai-nilai matematika yang terdapat pada kain tenun buna. Metode yang digunakan adalah metode kualitatif dengan desain etnografi, karena akan menjelaskan mengenai salah satu artefak budaya masyarakat NTT, dalam hal ini kain tenun buna. Hasil yang diperoleh adalah motif pada kain tenun buna yang dianalisis memuat konsep-konsep geometri dan aritmatika. Dari sifat-sifat segiempat yang dianalisis maka dapat diketahui bahwa bangun datar segiempat yang terdapat pada kain tenun buna adalah belah ketupat. Selain itu nilai-nilai atau konsep-konsep matematika pada kain tenun buna yang dapat diajarkan pada siswa SMP antara lain: menemukan rumus luas dan keliling belah ketupat menggunakan pendekatan segitiga; menghitung luas dan keliling belah ketupat; barisan aritmatika dan geometri serta menghitung banyaknya  model  belah ketupat pada kain tenun buna

Abstract

This study aims to produce a description of students' didactical obstacles in solving geometric problems based on their spatial perception ability. Didactical obstacles were obtained through the results of the analysis of the students' spatial perception obtained ability from the test of geometric instruments associated with the spatial perception ability. This research method is descriptive qualitative. The participants of this study were junior high school students and mathematics teachers. The analysis of the students' spatial perception ability was obtained based on the results of instrument tests, in-depth interviews, and document analysis. The results of this study showed that most students experienced didactical obstacles in solving geometric problems based on their spatial perception ability.Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menghasilkan gambaran dari hambatan didaktis siswa dalam penyelesaian masalah geometri berdasarkan kemampuan persepsi ruang. Hambatan didaktis diperoleh melalui hasil analisis dari kemampuan persepsi ruang siswa yang diperoleh dari uji instrumen geometri yang dikaitkan dengan kemampuan persepsi ruang. Metode penelitian ini adalah kualitatif deskriptif. Partisipan penelitian ini adalah siswa SMP dan guru matematika. Analisis kemampuan persepsi ruang siswa diperoleh berdasarkan hasil uji instrumen, wawancara yang mendalam, dan analisis dokumen. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan sebagian besar siswa  mengalami hambatan didaktis dalam menyelesaikan masalah geometri berdasarkan kemampuan persepsi ruang.

Abstract

Each child has their own characteristics, including mild mentally retarded students. There are several ways to help the mild mentally retarded students in learning mathematics. One of the ways is by using square geometry puzzle media. This study aimed to explore the learning process of mild mental retardation students in solving division count operations using square geometry puzzle media. The research design was an exploratory case study of 2 male mild mentally retarded students in a special school in Indramayu Regency. Data collection techniques used in this were used observation, interviews, and documentation which were analyzed by using data analysis techniques from Bogdan and Biklen. The research findings illustrated that the use of square geometry puzzle media can make students more active and expressive. It was because there was body movement that makes students do not feel bored in the learning process. In addition, according to the ability of students in solving division questions, it is found that mentally retarded students are able to solve division questions until the numbers divided that reached 30 and 40.Setiap anak memiliki karakteristik sendiri, termasuk siswa tunagrahita ringan. Banyak cara yang bisa dilakukan untuk membantu siswa tunagrahita ringan belajar matematika. Salah satu cara yakni menggunakan media kotak puzzle geometri. Fokus penelitian ini mengeksplorasi cara siswa dalam menyelesaikan soal operasi hitung pembagian bilangan bulat sampai 40 menggunakan media kotak puzzle geometri.  Desain penelitian menggunakan exploratory case study terhadap 2 siswa tunagrahita laki-laki di salah satu SLB di Kabupaten Indramayu. Teknik pengumpulan data dalam penelitian ini menggunakan observasi, wawancara, dan dokumentasi yang dianalisis menggunakan teknik analisis data dari Bogdan dan Biklen. Hasil temuan penelitian menggambarkan bahwa penggunan media kotak puzzle geometri dapat membuat siswa menjadi lebih aktif dan ekspresif. Hal tersebut karena semua anggota badan bergerak dan tidak menimbulkan kebosanan dalam mengikuti proses pembelajaran. Selain itu, jika dilihat dari kemampuan siswa dalam menyelesaiakan soal pembagian diperoleh bahwa siswa tunagrahita mampu menyelesaikan soal pembagian sampai angka yang dibagi mencapai 30 dan 40.

Abstract

Teaching and learning deductive proof is one of the most important goals in mathematics education. According to the APOS theory, learning a concept is facilitated when students have constructed an adequate APOS mental structure for the concep. There are characteristics differences between field-dependent and field-independent students in responding to tasks to construct proofs. The purpose of this study was to analyze the coherence of the group scheme constructed by students with the high initial ability based on cognitive style to construct  proofs. This study was a qualitative. The research subjects were determined by the purposive sampling. Data collection using test and in-depth interviews. The credibility of data was carried out using triangulation. Data analysis used Miles and Huberman's model. The results showed that the FI and FN Subjects had thematized the group scheme and were coherent, while the FD Subject had thematized the group scheme but was not coherent.Pengajaran dan pembelajaran bukti deduktif dalam matematika merupakan salah satu tujuan terpenting dalam pendidikan matematika. Menurut teori APOS (Aksi, Proses, Objek, Skema), belajar suatu konsep terfasilitasi apabila siswa telah mengkonstruksi struktur mental APOS yang memadai untuk konsep tersebut. Ditinjau dari gaya kognitifnya, ada perbedaan karakteristik antara mahasiswa field-dependent dan field-independent dalam merespon tugas yang memerlukan kemampuan mengkonstruksi bukti. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah menganalisis koherensi Skema grup yang dikonstruksi mahasiswa dengan kemampuan awal mengkonstruksi bukti adalah tinggi dan gaya kognitif FI, FN, FD.  Penelitian ini dirancang sebagai penelitian kualitatif. Subjek penelitian ditentukan dengan teknik purposive sampling. Teknik pengumpulan data menggunakan teknik tes dan wawancara mendalam.  Derajat kepercayaan data dilakukan dengan teknik pemeriksaan triangulasi.  Analisis data selama di lapangan mengggunakan model Miles dan Huberman. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan Subjek FI dan FN sudah mentematisasi Skema grup dan sudah koheren, sedangkan Subjek FD sudah mentematisasi Skema grup namun belum koheren.

Abstract

This study aims to develop a measurement tool for students' understanding, application and mathematical reasoning ability at Madrasah Ibtidaiyah in South Sulawesi. This research is a formative research type of Research and Development (RD) research through 4 (four) stages, namely: the preliminary stage; the stage of self evaluation (curriculum analysis, material, students) and design; prototyping stage (validation, evaluation and revision) which includes expert reviews, one-to-one and small groups; and the feld test stage. The product of this research was an assessment instrument in the form of questions that measured the ability of understanding, application, and mathematical reasoning of Madrasah Ibtidaiyah students. The test subjects in this study were fourth grade MI students in Makassar City, Gowa regency, and Sinjai regency. The results of the content validity based on the rater indicated that the test items needed were declared valid after being assessed by the rater and analyzed using the CVR (Content Validity Ratio) and CVI (Content Validity Index). In the reliability test, the results of the analysis conducted for multiple choice questions and the contents were in the category of "high" which means that the measurement tools for comprehension, application, and reasoning were indicated to be reliable.Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengembangkan alat ukur kemampuan pemahaman, ap­likasi, dan penalaran matematika siswa pada Madrasah Ibtidaiyah di Sulawesi Selatan. Penelitian ini merupakan jenis penelitian Research and Development (R D) tipe formative re­search melalui 4 (empat) tahap yaitu: tahap preliminary; tahap self evaluation (analisis kuriku­lum, materi, siswa) dan design; tahap prototyping (validasi, evaluasi dan revisi) yang meli­puti expert reviews, one-to-one dan small group; dan tahap feld test (uji coba lapangan). Produk penelitian ini adalah instrument penilaian berupa soal-soal yang akan mengukur kemam­puan pemahaman, aplikasi, dan penalaran matematika siswa Madrasah Ibtidaiyah. Subjek uji coba pada penelitian ini adalah siswa kelas IV MI di Kota Makassar, Kab. Gowa, dan Kab. Sinjai. Hasil validitas isi (Content validity) berdasarkan rater menunjukkan bahwa butir-butir tes yang dibut dinyatakan valid setelah dinilai oleh rater dan dianalisis dengan menggunakan CVR (Content Validity Rasio) dan CVI (Content Validity Indeks). Pada uji reliabili­tas, alat ukur kemampuan pemahaman, aplikasi, dan penalaran dikatakan reliabel.

Abstract

This research aims to analyze the quality of audience feedback learning in the Problem Based Learning model with a blended learning environment against problem solving capabilities. The research design uses a one-shot case study of 2 classes namely experiment and control classes at SMA Negeri 8 Semarang. Data collection techniques in research using test methods, polls, observations, interviews, and documentation. The results showed that audience feedback in the Problem Based Learning model with a blended learning environment towards quality mathematical problem solving capabilities. This is demonstrated by the average validity of instruments and the performance of quality learning in good categories. The suitability of providing feedback on learning results makes students more independent in learning so as to solve problem solving of mathematics problems. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis kualitas pembelajaran audience feedback dalam model Problem Based Learning dengan lingkungan blended learning terhadap kemampuan pemecahan masalah matematika. Desain penelitian menggunakan one-shot case study terhadap 2 kelas yaitu kelas eksperimen dan kontrol di SMA Negeri 8 Semarang. Teknik pengumpulan data dalam penelitian menggunakan metode tes, angket, observasi, wawancara, dan dokumentasi. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa audience feedback dalam model Problem Based Learning dengan lingkungan blended learning terhadap kemampuan pemecahan masalah matematika berkualitas. Hal ini ditunjukkan dengan rata-rata validitas instrumen dan keterlaksanaan pembelajaran berkualitas dalam kategori baik. Kesesuaian pemberian feedback hasil belajar menjadikan peserta didik lebih mandiri dalam belajar sehingga mampu menyelesaikan soal pemecahan masalah matematika.
