Abstract

Teachers with the status of civil servants have to write scientific papers for promotion. It is relatively complex for them since they are not used to conducting research or writing research articles to be published in a scientific journal. Therefore, this service was accomplished to assist teachers in carrying out research in their madrasahs and writing scientific papers to be published. The service method employed was Participatory Action Research (PAR) with the approach including 1) Lecturing, 2) Workshop, 3) Review, 4) Action Plan, and 5) Seminar. Furthermore, the objects of mentoring activities were 20 civil servant teachers at private madrasahs in Semarang City. The results of this activity were that teachers could write proposals, carry out research in the classroom, and report the findings in journal articles. Overall, assisted teachers had a 'sensitivity' in recognizing problems in the classroom and analyzing them. Their self-confidence as professional educators developed with the rise of awareness in writing research articles.

Abstract

The tridharma point that is most challenging for a lecturer to achieve is research, and currently, the benchmark for the research field is scientific publications. However, in reality, there are still many lecturers who are hampered in fulfilling research outputs in the form of scientific publications, this is because lecturers experience difficulties in compiling manuscripts of research results for publication. There are currently 144 lecturers at the Tasikmalaya Health Engineering Polytechnic and around 50% of the lecturers still have the functional position of expert assistant and do not have a functional position or teaching staff. This PKM aims to improve the ability of Tasikmalaya Health Polytechnic lecturers to compile manuscripts, avoid misconduct, and publish the manuscript in the intended journal. PKM methodThis is done using an Asset Based Community-Driven Development (ABCD) approach, namely focusing on the assets, potential and strengths of the Health Polytechnic lecturers. Workshop and coaching clinic preparing manuscripts, using reference management, and submitting manuscripts to journals. The research results showed that of the 50 participants who took part in the workshop, 15 lecturers succeeded in compiling manuscripts of research results, avoiding misconduct, and improving the manuscripts according to reviewer input. This shows the need for ongoing training and stimulation activities for lecturers in compiling research output.

Abstract

The decline in visitors during the COVID-19 outbreak is one of the factors affecting the profitability of tourist destinations. This condition is challenging for developing tourist villages, especially the Hegarmukti tourist village. Several activity restrictions during the COVID-19 outbreak have made community-based tourism development programs experience obstacles. Through this community service activity, the 4C model analysis (Conservation, Community, Culture, and Commerce) is to be applied to optimize the growth of the Hergarmukti tourist village. The activity begins with a semi-formal interview process and observations to gather information. Through this activity, it was revealed that some potential has not been exploited, especially in terms of natural and cultural tourism. Socialization activities by conducting capacity-building workshops for preserving natural ecosystems through waste management were conducted with the Situ Rawa Binong residents. Besides, cultural promotion activities through local art performances displayed by the Cahaya Gumilar Art Gallery also attract tourists. To run a sustainable tourism village, the community requires soft skills training in tourism and marketing. The study also offers several possible tourist attractions to stimulate the local economy.

Abstract

Digital content is a promotional medium that is growing and in demand at present, including promoting tourist destinations. Ease of access and a broader reach is why a digital promotion was chosen. However, there are still many tourist attraction managers who do not have enough literacy and ability to create digital promotional content. This community service uses the PLA (Participatory Learning and Action) method. The implementation of this activity involves several stages: assessment, planning, lobbying, organizing stakeholders, and the implementation and evaluation of CIPP. After completing the training program with this method, participants and managers of tourists have gained literacy about the importance of digital promotion. They have good skills in digital promotion, know how to promote tourist attractions through digital media, and can create interesting digital promotional content so that it can be an attraction for tourists.

Abstract

One of the big problems experienced by cities in Indonesia is waste management. The Reduce, Reuse, Recycle (3R) waste reduction activity still has major obstacles, due to low awareness in waste management. One solution that can be implemented is through efforts to develop a Garbage Bank. The existence of a waste bank in Palangka Raya City has been implemented, but the use and utilization by the community has not been maximized. This community service aims to reveal the role of the main waste bank in handling household waste in Palangka Raya City. This type of community service is descriptive-analytic, with primary and secondary data. The results of the community service show that the existence of a main waste bank is very helpful for the surrounding community in waste management, in addition to waste management, the waste bank also provides the surrounding community as customers of the bank. In optimizing the main waste bank for Palangka Raya City, public awareness and the role of the government are needed in providing adequate equipment in the waste management process at the waste bank.

Abstract

Empowering the community is an endeavor to prepare society for achieving progress, independence, and well-being within a sustainable social justice environment. Effective community empowerment must be tailored to the specific conditions of the target. Correspondingly, the objective of this program was to construct and empower an educational ecotourism village by implementing a hybrid method combining Sisdamas (Community Empowerment System) and Asset-Based Community Development (ABCD). This hybrid approach was expected to facilitate the identification of existing community assets and enhance synergy among stakeholders in creating an educational ecotourism village. Moreover, integrating these two methods could result in an effective, efficient, and sustainable coaching process. Cigugurgirang village possesses several assets that can be developed into an agricultural educational tourism area, including orange gardens, grape vineyards, and ornamental plant areas. They serve as the initial foundation for asset identification. The evaluation of the coaching process incorporated the Social Return on Investment (SROI) framework analysis, yielding a value of 10.16:1. Thus, every investment of 1 million rupiahs would generate a social value of 10.16 million rupiahs. In summary, the present community empowerment program had a multi-faceted impact, encompassing economic, educational, and social benefits. Its primary focus was establishing a sustainable and socially just environment, utilizing a combination of methods to maximize effectiveness. Furthermore, SROI analysis underscored the significant social value generated by the program's investments.
