Abstract

This study discussed the harmonious life of the Baduy people, a group of indigenous group who still maintain and preserve Pikukuh or traditional taboos that guide activities based on Sundanese Wiwitan teachings. Meanwhile, Nahdhatul Ulama is a religious and cultural identity embraced by most Muslims in the archipelago by preserving traditionalism. Baduy and Nahdlatul Ulama, society and group teachings, uphold the harmonious balance between humans and their gods in the context of life that preserves culture and upholds religion. Baduy preserves local traditions that are not only a reference for the behavior of community groups. However, it is also a source of inspiration for each community to live a compact, albeit different, life. Meanwhile, Nahdhatul Ulama's works are influenced by the social environment in which Islam can be accepted and developed. Finally, culture and religion continue to exist in harmony because they are mutually supportive parts.

Abstract

This study focuses on students' perceptions to explore and measure the elements that form religious moderation. Nine common factors are understood: understanding Islam, sharia balance, values of human beings, plurality in religion, rights of minority groups, national engagement, anti-violence, an attitude of friendship, and educational curricula. The nine factors seem to be interlinked too intimately, and therefore a theme is needed to simplify and make them more operable. This research method is quantitative with the type of explantation research and using a survey approach. The study involved 90 samples. Data analysis techniques of these factors used the help of computer programs such as SPSS software. The results demonstrated that these nine factors could be reduced to produce new names for the three main factors, namely, diversity, peace, and education. The three designations of these factors will help facilitate the approach in an effort to create an understanding of moderation among students in Islamic religious colleges.

Abstract

This article explored the phenomenon of hijrah among students at several universities in Indonesia. The data used was obtained through observation, interviews, and documentation studies. The findings found two conditions in the religious community that developed within the university. First, uncontrolled religious communities, such as the salaf community (hijrah), were affiliated with radical Islam, Salafi, Wahabi, and Muslim Brotherhood. They were not controlled to moderate religion, breaking unity and peace, like the salaf community. Second, the government could control society because it has a hierarchical line, such as student organizations. This article recommends a thorough study of the phenomenon of hijrah, which has recently become prominent not to deviate from the basic principles of hijrah itself as part of the overall practice of Islamic teachings (kaffah).

Abstract

This article analyzes the da'wah movement that is expressed in cyber media, as well as the challenges of implementing da'wah that must be carried out amid the clash of ideologies of religious communities. This study uses a qualitative method with an ethnomethodological approach, focusing on the analysis of digital conversations that are centered on the analysis of traces of interactions and conversations in response to da'wah narratives that have been uploaded openly through cyber community media. By using the concept of cyberspace and the concept of da'wah in understanding this cyber religious reality, this study can show that da'wah movements and activities that are displayed through cyber community media are a religious phenomenon along with the development of information and communication technology. This study also looks at the importance of humanist cyber da'wah by considering the da'wah process displayed in this cyber media in addition to calling for goodness and preventing evil, it also tends to describe the occurrence of ideological disputes and clashes between religious communities, marked by the many pro and con responses that appear in each da'wah message that uploaded through cyber religious community media.
