Abstract

This study examines the role of school administrative staff in improving student administration services at SMP Negeri 4 Pammana, Wajo Regency, using a descriptive qualitative approach. Data were collected through observation, interviews, and documentation. The results of the study show that administrative staff play an important role in various student administration services, such as during the new student admission process (creating banners or billboards, brochures, promotions, and assisting in the formation of the admission committee), assisting with new student orientation (providing attendance lists, journals, activity rooms, and monitoring orientation activities), preparing self-development programs (creating activity letters, attendance lists, material requirements, and even serving as presenters), and in reporting student learning progress (acting as report card application administrators and compiling student grade data from teachers). However, the study also found areas that need improvement, particularly in the preparation of student progress reports, which are hindered by inadequate facilities, especially unstable internet connections. Other obstacles include a shortage of administrative staff, limited Wi-Fi access, lack of information technology training, and short working hours, which increase workload and hinder service optimization. Supporting factors for success include the availability of technological facilities (laptops, printers, scanners), sufficient funding, and good collaboration between administrative staff, teachers, and the principal.

Abstract

This action research aims to identify and optimize the role of peer tutoring as a flexible mentoring system in assisting students of the Special Education (PLB) Study Program, Faculty of Social and Political Sciences, Universitas Negeri Semarang (UNESA), especially working students, in completing their Final Projects (TA) effectively and efficiently. The study used an action research approach involving two students who experienced delays in completing their TA (PT and PP) and two graduate students as peer tutors. The research instruments included a peer tutoring guide booklet that had been validated by material and design experts, a pretest–posttest instrument to measure the increase in understanding of TA preparation, and an assessment sheet for the effectiveness of the program by students and supervisors. The results showed that the peer tutoring guide booklet was declared very feasible (average score of 4), there was a significant increase in understanding from pretest to posttest by 29.41% in the PT subject and 52.94% in the PP subject, as well as an increase in the completeness of the TA proposal components, namely the PP subject from 15 to 24 components and the PT subject from 17 to 22 components. Furthermore, student assessments of the program's effectiveness indicated a strong agreement with an average score of 4.4–4.8, particularly regarding the flexibility of mentoring and increased learning motivation. Thus, the peer tutoring model has proven highly effective as a flexible mentoring system that can improve academic quality, time efficiency, and student learning independence in completing their final assignments.

Abstract

This study examines the professional competence of the Principal of Madrasah Aliyah Negeri 1 Sinjai. The research focuses on how the principal’s professional competence is implemented and the supporting and inhibiting factors that influence its realization. This study employs a descriptive qualitative approach with data collected through interviews, observations, and documentation. The research aims to describe the professional competence of the principal and identify the factors that support and hinder its implementation. Data sources include the principal, teachers, staff, and official school documents. The findings show that the principal’s professional competence is reflected through: (1) the development of a vision and learning culture demonstrated by religious activities, character-building routines, and literacy programs; (2) learner-centered instructional leadership, evident in supervision of planning, implementation, and evaluation of learning, teacher professional development, and student involvement in various activities; (3) effective and transparent resource management, shown through an open RKAM, BOS accountability reports, internal audits, and documented task distribution. Supporting factors include strong teacher and staff collaboration, involvement of the school committee and parents, and adequate facilities. Inhibiting factors include limited funding, suboptimal teacher participation, communication barriers, and a high administrative workload.

Abstract

This purpose of this study was to analyze the results of the validation of learning videos based on Contextual, Teaching and Learning (CTL). The type of research is Research and Development (R&D) with a development model of 4D (define, design, development and disseminate). The type of research method is by calculating the feasibility value in the form of a quantitative score then converted into qualitative data (interval) with a scale of five. The data analysis technique is carried out using product validation techniques. Validation is carried out with Material Experts, Media Experts and Language Experts. The feasibility of the Material obtained a score of 33 with an assessment range of 28 < X ≤ 34, including the feasible category. The media feasibility component obtained a score of 38 with a range of x > 34, including the Very feasible category. The language feasibility component obtained a score of 32 with an assessment range of 28 < X (<) 34, including the feasible category. The recapitulation of the total assessment score from the validator obtained a score of 103 with a range of x > 102, including the very feasible category. So it can be said that the Contextual, Teaching and Learning (CTL) based learning video developed is very feasible to be tested in the next stage.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze how English lecturers at the Department of English Education (Tadris Bahasa Inggris), IAIN Sultan Amai Gorontalo interpret and implement authentic assessment in the context of language learning, and to identify the challenges encountered in its application. Employing a qualitative descriptive approach with an interpretive strategy, data were obtained through in-depth interviews, classroom observations, and document analysis. The findings reveal that lecturers' understanding of authentic assessment remains varied, influenced by teaching experience, pedagogical literacy, and the absence of complete institutional guidelines. Assessment practices in the classroom have shown efforts toward process-based approaches through revision and reflection activities, yet they remain dominated by conventional product-oriented evaluation. The main obstacles identified include lecturers' workload, lack of assessment training, and limited institutional support. This study underscores the importance of policy alignment between curriculum policy and field practice, including the provision of training, shared rubrics, and assessment moderation systems. Conceptually, these findings extend understanding of authentic assessment in Islamic higher education, demonstrating that its success is determined not only by technical assessment design, but also by shifts in pedagogical paradigms and institutional culture that support reflective and contextual learning.

Abstract

Educational supervisors’ competence plays a strategic role in enhancing the quality of Islamic education. This study aims to examine the conceptual framework, roles, and strategies for strengthening supervisors’ competencies within the context of Islamic education. The research employs a library research design using a qualitative content analysis approach through the stages of decontextualization and recontextualization. The analytical process involves: (1) data reduction through the selection and summarization of key points from primary and secondary sources; (2) categorization based on thematic dimensions of supervisory competence; and (3) interpretation and conceptual synthesis to construct a coherent and systematic argument. The findings reveal that supervisory competence encompasses six principal dimensions: personal competence, managerial supervision, academic supervision, educational evaluation, research and development, and social competence integrated with Islamic values. These dimensions collectively contribute to strengthening teachers’ professionalism, enhancing institutional management effectiveness, and improving the quality of value-based learning in Islamic educational institutions. The study further emphasizes that strategies for developing supervisors’ competence should be systematically designed through continuous professional development programs, enhancement of research capacity and digital literacy, mentoring and value-based coaching grounded in Islamic principles, as well as performance evaluation based on measurable quality indicators. Therefore, the development of supervisory competence should not merely be regarded as regulatory compliance, but rather as a strategic investment in sustaining the quality and competitiveness of Islamic educational institutions

Abstract

Digital transformation has brought significant changes in various aspect of life, including higher education, particularly in business education. The transformation of business education in the digital era has become a necessity to address the increasingly complex and dynamic global challenges. The shift in the learning paradigm from conventional methods to digital requires adjustments in the curriculum, teaching methods, and the competencies of both lecturers and students to remain relevant to the needs of business and industry. The purpose of this literature review is to identify and synthesize existing literature on the adoption of digital technology in business education, as well as its impact on the curriculum, teaching methods, and learning outcomes. The methodology used in this study is a qualitative approach with a library research method, analyzing recent research from various journals, books, and scholarly articles. The main findings indicate that digital transformation provides broad access to education, more interactive learning, and improved digital competencies for students, although challenges such as resistance to change and limited infrastructure remain. This study concludes that a holistic and sustainable strategy for implementing digital transformation is crucial, including digital competency training for educators and the development of adequate information technology infrastruktur. Recommendations focus on strengthening collaboration between educational institutions, business practitioners, and technology developers to support adaptive and innovative business education in the digital era.

Abstract

This research aims to examine the integration of philosophy of science in Arabic language learning in order to transform it into a holistic, critical, and contextual approach, so as to go beyond the achievement of linguistic competence alone. This research uses a library research method with content analysis techniques on relevant primary and secondary sources, such as books, journals, and scientific articles. The synthesis of ontological, epistemological, and axiological approaches results in a learning transformation with three main characteristics. First, holistic, which integrates the cognitive (analysis of language structure), affective-spiritual (internalization of values), and psychomotor (active use of language) domains simultaneously. Second, critical, by emphasizing in-depth analysis, evaluation, and criticism of the text through the lens of epistemology. Third, contextual, which is to relate language to socio-cultural realities and encourage religious moderation through discussions of diverse interpretations of texts. The integration of philosophy of science transforms the paradigm of Arabic language learning to be more substantive and empowering, which not only builds language proficiency but also shapes students' character and critical thinking skills to answer future challenges.

Abstract

This research aims to contextualize Arabic language learning in Indonesia through the perspective of philosophy of science in order to reconstruct the traditional textual paradigm and overcome the gap between theoretical mastery (nahwu-sharaf) and applicable communicative competence. This research uses a library research method with a qualitative-philosophical approach. The research design is analytical-critical, examining and reconstructing the learning paradigm through in-depth conceptual analysis. The data analysis technique is carried out by content analysis and philosophical reflection on related primary and secondary sources, which are synthesized based on the three pillars of philosophy of science: ontology, epistemology, and axiology. The results of the study are analyses that produce a holistic reconstruction of the Arabic language learning paradigm. Ontologically, Arabic is understood not as a static entity but as a dynamic, plural living reality (acknowledging Fusha and 'Ammiyyah), and culturally bound. Epistemologically, language knowledge is actively constructed by students through social interaction and authentic experiences with inductive-communicative methods, shifting away from passive knowledge transfer. Axiologically, the value of learning extends beyond narrow religious and academic goals to include pragmatic (career, economic), intercultural, and intellectual (critical thinking) values. The synthesis of these three pillars results in a contextual learning model that is student-centered, uses authentic materials, and is oriented towards pragmatic competencies for real life.

Abstract

Strengthening Islamic culture and character has become an urgent need in Islamic primary education amid the challenges of moral degradation and declining student discipline. Madrasahs, as value-based educational institutions, play a strategic role in nurturing noble character through structured and sustainable guidance. One crucial instrument in this process is student management, which includes planning, organizing, implementing habituation programs, and supervising students’ behavior in an integrated manner. This study aims to analyze the implementation of student management in strengthening Islamic culture and character at Madrasah Ibtidaiyah Al-Islamiyah, Ukui District, Pelalawan Regency, Riau. This research employed a qualitative approach with a case study design. Data were collected through observation, in-depth interviews, and documentation, and analyzed using the interactive model of Miles, Huberman, and Saldaña. The findings indicate that student management plays a significant role in shaping a religious and orderly madrasah culture. Habituation programs such as the recitation of asmaul husna, dhuha prayer, BTQ and tahfiz, muhadarah, and congregational prayers are effective in fostering discipline, politeness, self-confidence, and students’ spiritual attachment to the Qur’an. This study offers an implementative model of student management based on Islamic habituation that is systematic and sustainable
