Abstract

This research aims to describe non-Arabic languages in the Qur’an according to the scholars who agreed on mu'arrab namely as-Suyuti, Ibn al-Subki and al-Khafiz Ibn Hajar and to reveal the meaning of the word including ta’rîb in the Qur’an. It uses library research method and descriptive qualitative technique analysis with structural, historical, and ideological approaches for the data analysis technique. The results of the study show that: 1) Factors which influence the occurrence of ta’rîb in Arabic especially in the Qur’an are the historical factors, namely geographical proximity, trading relations, immigration, political power, religious tendencies, culture, economy, and industry with other nations. 2) Arabic grows and develops with its closest Semitic languages, such as Habsyah, Aramiah and Akadiah so it will indirectly lead into language and cultural shift. 3) In as-Suyutimadhzab, including Ibn al-Subki, and al-Khafiz Ibn Hajar, believe in the existence of mu'arrab and ta’rîb in the Qur'an, so he collected around 125 non-Arabic words in the Qur'an which consists of 13 languages, including Persian, Habsyah, Hebrew, Suryaniyah, Nabathea, Berber, Zinjiyah, Jewish, Roman, Indian, Saizalah, Turkish and Magrib which are distributed in 41 surahs of the Qur’an.

Abstract

This study aims to describe Arabic-Online.net and to find out how it is used in the implementation of Arabic learning. Applying a qualitative approach, this research was of literature study. The main object is e-learning site i.e. Arabic-Online.net which can be accessed openly to learn Arabic. Further, this study found that Arabic-Online.net is an Arabic learning model provided to non-native speakers, which is offered by the Saudi Electronic University. Its teaching is based on the General European reference framework by using four language skills and the main components in Arabic. There are 16 levels in the stages ranging from beginner, elementary, intermediate, upper intermediate, advanced, to mastery which contain as many as 796 main interactive videos, 12.000 audio files, 6.320 images and 10.076 exercises. Each level consists of 6 modules (units), each of which includes 24 lessons. E-learning implementation using Arabic-Online.net is conducted in the form of blended learning.

Abstract

This paper tries to explain the process of using google form as a assessment instruments for Arabic reading skills (qirâ`ah) and arabic grammar (qawâ’id). The purpose of this study is to find out the features that can be used as a assessment instruments for qirâ`ah and qawâ’id, and their proficiency assessment instruments. This study uses a qualitative approach to the type of descriptive research. The objects of this study were students at IAIN Surakarta who participated in the Arabic Practicum Program organized by the Language Development Center (P2B). The results showed that the features of google form that can be used as a medium for evaluating the competence of  reading Arabic texts and Arabic rules are short answer, multiple choice, checkboxes and dropdown features.

Abstract

This study aims to develop the learning of Arabic listening skill by using technology especially Android media which is currently in great demand by millennial generation, and to find out how effective it is. To measure the effectiveness of learning Arabic listening by using Android, this study uses an experimental-based research applied to 32 tenth graders of Natural Science (IPA) at Islamic High School (Madrasah Aliyah/MA) Nasruddin Dampit. The data collection techniques used in this study are tests, namely pre-test and post-test and distributing questionnaires. The data analysis uses the t test formula. And based on the results of research that has been done, the results obtained t count = 5.21 and t table = 2.04 with a significant level α = 0.05. Thus t arithmetic t table = 5.21 2.04 which means the learning of Arabic listening by using android in MA Nasruddin is effective.

Abstract

Writing skills are definitely essential to be mastered by students. This study described the efforts of Arabic education department of Indonesia University of Education (IUOE) in improving students’ writing skill, specifically in writing journal articles. Descriptive qualitative method was used in this study. This study involved 25 postgraduate students. Data collection was carried out through questionnaires, interviews, and documentation. The results of this study showed there are four stages that can be performed to improve students’ writing skill in writing journal article, namely 1) Identifying students’ various difficulties in writing scientific journal articles, 2) conducting trainings of scientific journal articles through zoom meeting application in which the materials are based on the problems faced by the postgraduate students, 3) evaluating scientific journal articles that have been written by the postgraduate students, and 4) knowing the students’ perceptions regarding scientific journal article training activities through distributing the questionnaires.

Abstract

This study aimed at describing the PBA curriculum development in the period of 1975-2013, viewed from ‘continuous and changing’ perspective on its components and exploring its causes. This was qualitative research with a historical approach, so that the data analysis was done by descriptive qualitative analysis. The results were as follows: first, in terms of the authority in curriculum compilation before KBK, the Government was quite dominant, and departments had role as curriculum implementers, although in the following years they were authorized to develop their own curriculum. Second, there were differences in naming the components and compositions of the curriculum structure in courses. Third, the learning process that was originally a transfer of knowledge (before KBK), teacher centered (TCL), and content based, turned into a method of inquiry (KBK) and sstudent centered learning (SCL). The outcomes shifted into the involvement of the community as stakeholders. Fourth, Arabic learning objective shifted from language goals that are only passive to holistic. The learning process also shifted on the materials, approaches, methods, techniques and evaluation.

Abstract

This article aims to reinforce the understanding of the concepts, characteristics, and scope of studies in Arabic language curriculum management. This type of research includes library research, which is a descriptive qualitative research. The data was collected using the documentation method. Meanwhile, data analysis was carried out through qualitative (non-statistical) analysis methods on the basis of which conclusions were drawn using an inductive frame of mind. The results show that the Arabic language curriculum management is a distinctive process consisting of planning, organizing, directing and controlling actions carried out on the implementation of the Arabic language curriculum by utilizing all existing supporting aspects in order to achieve effective, efficient and optimal goals in accordance with which have been set. The characteristic or characteristic of Arabic language curriculum management is that it contains religious values, either real or cultural values. The scope of operational problems which are the Arabic language curriculum management studies, namely: Management planning and curriculum development; Management of curriculum implementation; Supervision of curriculum implementation; Curriculum monitoring and assessment; Curriculum improvement; Decentralization and curriculum centralization; and labor issues.

Abstract

This study aimed at describing and analyzing the forms and the factors of writing errors at Darul Luhah wa al-Dirasat al-Islamiyah Islamic boarding school Pamekasan Madura. This research is a descriptive qualitative type. To achieve these objectives, researcher used the Glesser and Strauss model to analyze data called the fixed comparison model consisting of four steps: data reduction, data categorization, coding, and preparing working hypotheses. The results of this study showed that students errors in writing at Islamic boarding school Pamekasan Madura are mistakes in adding letters, subtracting letters, writing letters that sound alike, replacing letters or words, splitting letters or words, writing hamzah in the middle of sentences, connecting letters or words, writing hamzah qatha, writing hamzah above the line, and writing hamzah individually. The factors that influence students writing errors at Darul Lughah wa al-Dirasat al-Islamiyah are individual differences, students weakness in Arabic rules, students weakness on vocabulary mastery, students weakness on listening, the use of learning method, the absence of specific book for imla 'study, and limited time.

Abstract

Language environment has been used as an Arabic learning strategy. However, not every strategy is successful in improving Arabic language competence. This article aimed at understanding: (1) the phenomenon of the establishment of Arabic language environment in higher education, and (2) the contribution of Arabic language environment in improving language competence through the language acquisition process. So far, these aspects were neglected in previous studies. This research used a qualitative approach with a case study model. Data were collected through interviews, observation and documentation. They were analyzed in detail since the beginning of collection, description and reduction, and verification. The results showed that the establishment of language environment at UIN Maulana Malik Ibrahim Malang was carried out by establishing student dormitories, native speakers and student activity forums such as Arabic camp, public lectures, debates, discussions, public speaking, learning outside the classroom and competition. The influence of the Arabic language environment on the language acquisition is indicated by the students' speaking ability after 6 months of learning Arabic, participation in Arabic competition, writing Arabic scientific papers, and using Arabic in learning meetings. In conclusion, it turns out that the establishment of an Arabic language environment can be carried out in universities and can improve Arabic language competence. This article provided suggestions for effective use of the Arabic language environment as a language skill learning strategy.

Abstract

The interaction patterns of Arabic learning can be realized in an artificial environment based on Vygotsky's socio-cultural theory. This research aims; 1. To know the interaction patterns of learning Arabic in an artificial environment. 2. To know how to activate the interaction patterns of learning Arabic in an artificial environment based on Vygotsky's socio-cultural theory. This research is a qualitative analysis descriptive study with a symbolic interactional approach. The data collected by using observation, interviews and documentation. The results of data analysed by using the Miles and Huberman analysis methods. For validating the data used triangulation method. This study finds out that, 1. The pattern of Arabic learning interaction; a. Interaction between teachers students. b. Interaction between teachers groups of students, c. Interaction between teacher groups student groups. 2. There are important thing in activating the interaction pattern; a. Mediated learning. b. Ensure the regulation in children by using scaffolding techniques in zone proximal development of student (ZPD). c. Apply the micro genesis model by providing collaborative learning. d. Watch for and supervise the use of children's "inner speech" and "private speech" considering their level of cognition and age. e. Using an active system in Arabic learning.
