Abstract

Abstract : This study aims to describe students' conceptual understanding and determine the improvement of students' conceptual understanding by applying a role playing type of cooperative learning model. The type of research used is Quasi Experimental, with a Nonequivalent Control Group Design. The subjects of this study were students of class VII MTs N 1 Padangsidimpuan, which consisted of 60 students and was divided into two classes, namely the experimental class and the control class. The data in this study were in the form of students' concept understanding scores after learning science by applying a role playing type cooperative learning model which was analyzed descriptively. Furthermore, the increase in understanding of the concept was analyzed using the SPSS Version 25 application for inferential analysis. Based on descriptive analysis and inferential analysis of data, it was found that the increase in students' conceptual understanding in the experimental class was in the good category with concept understanding in the good category with a posttest score of 73.05, while the control class was in the sufficient category, which was 58.17. Thus, it can be concluded that the application of the role playing type of cooperative learning model can improve students' conceptual understanding at MTs N 1 Padangsidimpuan.Key words : Learning Model, Role Playing, Concept Understanding

Abstract

Abstract: The purpose of this study is to examine the differences in understanding learning outcomes between students who use the VRchat game and students who do not use the VRchat game on the basic level 2 A-2 Marugoto material on topic 1 atarashii tomodachi. The research method used is a quasi-experimental method of Nonequivalent Control Group Design. This study involved 2 classes, namely the experimental class and the control class. The experimental class was given treatment using the VRchat game, while the control class only received material. Each was given a pretest and posttest. The results of data processing showed the calculation of the posttest average value of the experimental class was 64.64 while the control class was 44.28. The conclusion of the research is that there are differences in understanding learning outcomes between groups that use VRchat games and groups that do not use VRchat games. The learning outcomes of students' understanding using VRchat games were higher than the group that did not use learning games.Key Words: VRchat, Online Game, Japanese Language, Choukai, Influence

Abstract

Abstract: Learning by using the 2013 curriculum emphasizes on higher-order thinking skills (HOTS). Students' higher-order thinking skills can be trained by providing evaluations in the form of HOTS test instrument. Learning in this digital era certainly must be able to utilize Information and Communication Technology (ICT) in the learning process. The process of constructing HOTS test instrument is based on multimedia by using iSpring Suite 9 software. This study aims to develop and to analyze high-quality multimedia-based Higher Order Thinking Skills (HOTS) test instrument about motion system materials for grade eleven senior high school students. This study was conducted at the Biology Education Study Program, Faculty of Teacher Training and Education, Universitas Riau, and SMAN Plus Riau Province Pekanbaru from November 2021 to March 2022. This research used the ADDIE model but only was done to the development stage. The result shows that the validation obtains an average score of 3.52 in the very valid category. The average response in the limited trial is 3.52 in the very good category. The average result of the quality of the HOTS test instrument for multimedia-based motion system materials is 3.52 in the very good category. Analysis of the items shows that the details of the items are reliable, 86.1% of the difficulty level of the HOTS items is in the difficult category, the discriminatory power 77.8% of the HOTS items is acceptable, 71.9% of the distractor function is effective. This study shows that the developed multimedia-based HOTS test instrument have a high quality so that they can be used as biology assessment instruments.Key Words: Multimedia, Motion Systems, Higher Order Thinking Skills (HOTS) test instrument.

Abstract

Abstract: The ability to understand concepts of physics is an absolute requirement for the success of a physics lesson. The low understanding of physics concepts is a problem that must be resolved. One way that is considered to be able to overcome problems in the teaching and learning process is by applying multi-representation-based physics learning. This study aims to determine the effectiveness of multi-representation-based physics learning in increasing students' conceptual understanding of momentum and impulse material. The type of research used is quasi-experimental research with the Nonequivalent Post-test Control Group Design. This research was conducted at SMA Negeri Pintar Riau Province by using a concept understanding test on Momentum and Impulse material. The research sample was class X IPA 1 with a total of 25 people as the experimental class and class X IPA 2 with a total of 25 people as the control class. The instrument used in data collection was a test on the results of understanding the concept of momentum and impulse material for class X which consisted of 21 reasoned multiple choice questions. The data analysis used was descriptive analysis through the level of understanding of the concept and the effectiveness of learning and inferential analysis through the normality test, homogeneity test, and the Independent T-Test with the help of SPSS 20. The results showed that the understanding of the concepts of the experimental students and the control class was different, from the average score of the experimental class is higher than the control class. From this study, it can be concluded that multi-representation-based physics learning can improve students' understanding of the concept of momentum and impulse material in class X High School.Keywords: Learning Effectiviness, Multiple- representations, Concept Mastery

Abstract

Abstract: Education is the responsibility of the whole community, especially the educational personnel provider institutions (LPTK). LPTK prepares educational transmitters by teaching things related to pedagogical abilities and the material to be taught. In learning activities, students are also trained to harmonize their pedagogical abilities with student characteristics and the availability of learning facilities and infrastructure. The rise of the covid outbreak at the beginning of 2020, made all people have to limit their activities outside the home. Due to the increasingly worrying covid outbreak, to break the chain of the virus's spread, the government asks all activities to be carried out from home (work from home), including in the field of education. The government's policy of changing face-to-face learning to WFH suddenly caused a culture shock for teachers and students. Through WFH, teachers are asked to simplify learning time and materials to be taught, change teaching methods or methods, change evaluation methods and so on. Furthermore, students must also change the way they learn, students must be able to find the substance of the material presented by the teacher independently, learn actively, complete the learning infrastructure, the role of parents must be increased in assisting students when learning independently. This change in the way of teaching with WFH not only makes teachers have to work hard to prepare lessons but also teachers have to provide extra time to serve students, or parents of students in understanding each material being taught. With limited learning facilities and infrastructure, WFH activities can only be carried out through online learning, which requires teachers to prepare tools (android) and a budget for purchasing data packages. Abstract

Abstract: This study aims to examine the speech act functions found in the Dune film. To actualise this aims, this study was conducted using qualitative research designs and by making the speech act theory of (Levinson, 1979) and the speech act function theory of Searle (1979) as the basis for examining the speech act functions. The data were collected using the open coding and documentation method in which the oral data were collected from the utterances of the film, then transcribed into written data. This research used content or document analysis as the way to analyze the data. The data analysis result are presented informally or descriptively. The results of data analysis showed there are five speech act functions in the film, namely representative, directive, commissive, expressive, and declarative. The result finding shows that the speech function representative is at 57%, directive 20%, expressive 12%, declarative 7%, and commissive is at 4%. Examining the function and meaning of speech acts in the film Dune from the perspective of sociolinguistics is an important topic to raise as a method in language learning.Key Words: Function of Speech, Speech Act, Dune Film

Abstract

Abstract: This study aims to determine the effect of online learning and learning motivation on student learning outcomes in economics class XII at SMA N 2 Mandau. The sample in this study were students of class XII social studies at SMAN 2 Mandau for the academic year 2021/2022 which consisted of 5 classes with a total of 117 students using the slovin technique. Data were collected using questionnaires and documentation which were then analyzed using multiple linear regression. Based on the research, it was found that online learning and learning motivation had a positive and significant effect on student learning outcomes in Economics class XII Social Studies at SMA N 2 Mandau. So online learning and learning motivation together will improve student learning outcomesKeywords: Online Learning, Learning Motivation, Learning Outcomes.

Abstract

Abstract: The background of this research is that there are weaknesses in technical factors when dribbling, because players have difficulty passing the opponent and are not under control or not in the player's control, so it is very easy for opposing players to snatch and snatch the ball from the player. Therefore, the author wants to provide a form of training for Koto Bangun Soccer School aged 15-16 years. The method used in this research is the experimental method. The population in this study was the Koto Bangun Soccer School aged 15-16 years, totaling 16 people. From the results of the study, the data obtained from the pree-test of dribble skills after the calculation resulted in Lcount of 0.137 and Ltable of 0.213. This means Lcount< Ltable. It can be concluded that the distribution of data from dribbling skills is normally distributed. For testing the data, the results of the post-test dribble skills resulted in Lcount 0.087 < Ltable 0.213. So it can be concluded that the distribution of the data from the post-test dribble skills is normally distributed. Based on the t-test yielding Tcount of 2,595 and Ttable of 1,753, Ha is accepted. Thus, it can be concluded that dribble drill practice has an effect on dribbling at the Koto Bangun soccer school aged 15-16 years. Key Words: Effect of Fartlek Exercise, Basketball Player Endurance

Abstract

Abstract: Learning during the covid-19 pandemic is carried out with the Distance Learning (PJJ) system, it aims to break the chain of spread of Covid-19. With this policy, schools implement teaching and learning activities from a distance or online learning. Currently, there are many platforms that can help implement online learning, such as e-learning, Google Classroom, Edmodo, Moodle. During online learning during the Covid-19 pandemic, teachers send themed assignments, send learning videos as learning media to students so that students can immediately understand the material provided by the teacher through Google Classroom. The type used in this research is descriptive. The population in this study is class X 1 Madrasah Aliyah Muhammadiyah Pekanbaru there are 122 people. The researcher took a random sample of 10% of the total 122 students, namely 12 people and a PJOK teacher. The instruments used to collect data are questionnaires for students and interviews for teachers related to the implementation of google classroom. The data analysis technique used is to calculate the questionnaire score on each research indicator. Based on the results of the research, it showed that the implementation of the use of google classroom in online learning during the covid-19 pandemic in class X 1 Madrasah Aliyah Muhammadiyah Pekanbaru was 93.60% classified as very strong.Keywords: Google Classroom, Online Learning During the Covid-19 Pandemic

Abstract

Abstract: Health is an important element in human life. In conditions of physical and spiritual health, humans can carry out activities optimally. To get good physical and spiritual health, it is necessary to maintain regular health care. Some efforts to maintain health are by doing physical activity and maintaining sleep quality. The purpose of this study was to find out whether there is a relationship between physical activity and sleep quality in class X IPA 2 students at SMA Negeri 1 Koto Gasib. This research is a type of research correlation. The sample in this study consisted of 25 class X IPA 2 students. Collecting data to determine the level of physical activity of students was obtained from filling out the questionnaire Physical Activity Questionnaire for Adolescents (PAQ-A), while to find out the level of students' sleep quality was obtained from filling out the Pittsburgh Sleep Quality Index (PSQI) questionnaire which was given directly to students then data analysis and hypothesis testing were carried out using the parametric statistical method Pearson Product Correlation Coefficient -Moment (Pearson Product-Moment Correlation Coefficient) in SPSS 26 For Windows. The results found in this study are there 7 (28%) students' physical activity was in the moderate category, and 18 (72%) students were in the low category, then there were 11 (44%) students with good sleep quality and 14 (56%) students with poor sleep quality. The results of data analysis found that the value of rx.y = 0.569, and rx.y = 0.569 > r table: 0.505. Based on the results of this study the level of association of 0.569 was at the "Moderate" level, namely at 0.40–0.599, it can be concluded that there is a significant relationship between physical activity and sleep quality of class X IPA 2 students at SMA Negeri 1 Koto Gasib.Keywords : Health, Physical Activity, Sleep Quality
