Abstract

The current era is entering a fast-paced and uncertain period. In that era, it has a significant impact on learning. One of the impacts is online learning. However, online learning raises various kinds of problems in its implementation. Student learning independence is one of the problems that arise and must be resolved immediately. If student learning independence cannot be appropriately handled, learning outcomes will also be affected. From the observations, independent learning in students also causes low learning outcomes obtained. Thus, interactive multimedia is here to solve the problem of independent learning in students. Interactive multimedia can help students to learn independently. Interactive multimedia does not only act as a passive means of knowledge but also can be a solution for students to understand introductory learning media courses. The development model used was the Lee & Owens model. The research design in this study was a one-group pretest-posttest design. The results of this study were valid and effective interactive multimedia products and increased student independence. The implication of improving student learning independence ultimately impacts increasing student learning outcomes.

Abstract

Information and communication technology (ICT) literacy is a fundamental skill that every educator must possess in the 21st century. This study looks at the category of ICT literacy levels of accounting teachers in vocational high schools. This research is quantitative descriptive. The research sample consisted of 35 accounting teachers at a vocational high school in Surakarta. Five categories were used to categorize the level of ICT literacy, while the aspects measured in ICT literacy comprised six domains: access, manage, integrate, evaluate, create, and communicate. Data were collected using the methods of observation, interviews, and questionnaires. Data obtained through questionnaires were then analyzed using descriptive analysis techniques with percentages. The results showed that the six aspects measured in each category, on average, were in the relatively good category, the level was quite good (40%), the level was good (22%), and the level was very good (20%). It explains that ICT literacy in utilizing augmented reality media combines the ability to access, intellectually, interpret, communicate, and new skills to effectively use information and communication technology.

Abstract

As the COVID-19 pandemic struck, faculty members are mandated to conduct online learning, in which UNS SPADA is recommended as the instrument. Various efforts have been made to optimize the utilization of SPADA. A survey conducted on 80 SPADA users revealed that only 35% could utilize the app well. Since face-to-face training, socialization, and assistance for SPADA utilization are impossible to do due to the situation, web-based tutorial learning media are required to equip the users with independent manual and guidance. This research implemented a Research and Development (R&D) method through the ADDIE model. The study aims to design, develop, and implement learning media of web-based UNS SPADA tutorials in text and images. At the FGD organized by the Center of Information Technology Development for Learning (PPTIuP), LPPMP of UNS highlighted that web-based tutorial media could provide a feasible solution to guide SPADA users. Of the two assessed aspects, accessibility and visual communication obtained excellent (54%), good (41%), and adequate (5%).

Abstract

This research aims to develop a PowerPoint-based video instructional media. PowerPoint is an office application that teachers can easily operate. There are three steps in the development process of this research, namely, testing the prototype of the material on individual students with three students. It was followed by trials in small classes and large class trials (field tryouts). This small class trial involved eight students, while the large class involved 20 students by taking the students in the class. The first evaluation results of this learning media product were 89.9, followed by the second and third tests, which resulted in the same score of 89.3. It means that the design development of this media product is feasible for the teaching and learning process and can be developed according to the learning needs of the madrasah. The evaluation and product improvement process needs to be carried out to produce good learning media products. This PowerPoint-based video learning media is expected to provide new learning experiences for students because learning is more interesting.

Abstract

This research aims to develop digital teaching materials based on Google education on physics subjects to improve students' critical thinking skills in Kalam Kudus Christian Junior High School Surakarta. This research method used was research and development to ADDIE development models, including the Analysis, Design, Development, Implementation, and Evaluation stages. The subject of this study was class VIII students of Kalam Kudus Christian Junior High School, with 60 students. Teaching materials and critical thinking skills tests were conducted on class VIII Kalam Kudus Christian Junior High School Surakarta students. The design of this research trial was a one-group pre-test-post-test design. The results showed that the average percentage of material expert validation value was 81%, media expert validation value was 84.5, and critical thinking skills instruments were 80.8%, with very feasible criteria. In limited trials, Google-based digital teaching materials users got an average score from teachers and learners of 80.50% with very practical criteria. Google-based digital teaching materials’ effectiveness in improving critical thinking skills was characterized by differences in learners' critical thinking test results from 65.6 to 80. These results indicate that the digital teaching materials based on Google education developed had valid, practical, and effective criteria to improve learners' critical thinking skills.

Abstract

This study aims to describe the internalization of the value of freedom to learn in learning at SMK N 9 Surakarta. In this case, the data development on COVID-19 figures and government policies in responding to the COVID-19 pandemic by not allowing face-to-face learning requires learning to be carried out using a distance learning model that necessitates teachers to internalize the value of freedom to learn in learning, which is considered to affect the achievement of student competencies. Internalization of the value of freedom to learn can then have a positive and negative effect on learning. For this reason, this study used a qualitative approach, with data collection techniques in the form of interviews, observation, and documentation studies. In this study, there were two points of view on internalization: the basic idea of internalization that adheres to the normative aspect, i.e., laws and circulars from the education office, and several teacher opinions on the freedom to learn policy, i.e., the value of flexibility contained in it. The research results also revealed that the internalization of the value of freedom to learn could facilitate the distance learning process and improve the accomplishmentof student competencies and achievements.

Abstract

Media is a crucial and inseparable part of the learning process, especially to achieve learning objectives. In this study, the model used in the development of interactive learning multimedia was the Borg & Gall model. This model was selected based on the consideration that this model is easy to understand, systematically developed, and based on the theoretical foundation of the developed learning design. The research and development stages of the Borg & Gall model consist of ten steps: (a) research and data collection, (b) planning, (c) initial product development, (d) initial product trial/limited trial, (e) improvement of the initial product, (f) more comprehensive field trial, (g) improvement of the product resulting from a broader field test, (h) final product trial, (i) revision or refinement of the final product, and (j) dissemination and implementation. The development process involved subject matter, learning design, and learning media experts to provide feedback and suggestions for improvement. In addition, the English subject teacher of self-introduction material as a user of PowerPoint animation based-interactive media also offered feedback and input. The development research results revealed that this PowerPoint animation-based interactive media product had a material feasibility level of 70.66%, a learning design feasibility of 91.42%, and a learning media feasibility of 91.42%. In comparison, the small group trial rate was 81.11%, and based on field trials, 84.46% indicated very decent qualifications and did not need to be revised.

Abstract

This study aims to see how the Microsoft Teams application was utilized as learning media at Universitas Sebelas Maret (UNS), Surakarta. The problem found during the COVID-19 pandemic is that many educators/lecturers still experience difficulties using online learning media, one of which is using Microsoft Teams, which lecturers have not widely utilized. The research method used was descriptive qualitative. The research subjects were 20 lecturers who taught courses from several study programs within UNS. Data collection methods were through 1) filling out a questionnaire about the difficulty level, accessibility, and layout of Microsoft Teams; 2) interviews were conducted to obtain direct information from respondents to reinforce the questionnaire; 3) literature study and documentation. The results uncovered that 93% of respondents had no difficulty building, managing, organizing, and conducting virtual classroom activities using Microsoft Teams. According to 88% of respondents, accessibility to devices owned by respondents and internet connectivity were good and could run smoothly.
