Abstract

This study aims to determine the effectiveness of worksheets based on an open-ended approach to students' mathematical problem solving abilities. Subjects in the study were eighth grade public and private junior high school students in Lubuklinggau City who were from 3 schools. Each school is SMP Negeri 1 Lubuklinggau totaling 33 students, SMP Negeri 14 Lubuklinggau totaling 29 students and SMP PGRI 3 Lubuklinggau totaling 14 students. Data collection techniques in this study are test techniques. the test used in the study is a description test which is compiled based on indicators of mathematical problem solving abilities. The data analysis technique used in this study is one sample t-test with the help of  SPSS Version 24 program.The data analysis t-test students' mathematical problem solving capabilities of three schools only SMP Negeri 1 Lubuklinggau which show significantly less than equal to 61 (μo 61). SMP Negeri 14 Kota Lubuklinggau and SMP PGRI 3 Lubuklinggau showed that the average mathematical problem-solving ability of students after using LKS based on open-ended was significantly more than 61 (μo  61). Abstract

This study aims to describe the algebraic thinking process of grade VIII MTs students in solving algebraic problems based on Taksonomi Solo seen from gender differences in students with high mathematical abilities. The research was carried out in the eighth grade of Miftahul Huda MTs in Kediri Regency. The research subjects consisted of two students, namely women and men with high abilities. Subjects were chosen based on information from the teacher regarding mathematical abilities and the willingness and openness of the subject to be interviewed about the task of algebra problems. The results of the study showed that female students with high abilities fulfilled the indicators of algebraic thinking, namely finding certain tribes and generalizing the given patterns and understanding the role of variables as numbers that are known in algebraic form, equations and inequalities. Whereas male students with high abilities only fulfill the indicators of algebraic thinking, namely finding certain tribes in the given pattern.

Abstract

The low mathematical communication skills in SMA 2 Natar, South Lampung, are caused by various factors, including the assumption that mathematics is very difficult so students still tend to be passive. The purpose of this study was to determine the mathematical communication skills of students who used the Gerlach and Ely learning models that characterized Islamic values better than conventional learning. The population in this study were students of class X Natar 2 Public High School. This research is a pre-experimental design with one-group pretest-posttest type. The test prerequisite analysis was done by Liliefors test for normality and F test for homogeneity, then the data were analyzed using N-Gain test and correlated t-test. The results of the analysis in the t-test test correlates mathematical communication skills in the material of the nilier equation system three variables at the significance level α = 0.05 obtained by tcount = 24.19 Ttable = 2.045 24, Thitung> T table so that in the calculation of H0 is rejected. Similarly, mathematical communication skills can be improved after using the Gerlach and Ely learning model characterized by Islamic values on the subject of the three-variable linear equation system

Abstract

The objective in this research is to find out whether the ability to understand student’s mathematical concepts with the application of The Firing Line strategy is better than ordinary learning. This research used quantitative research. The method used quasi experiment using pretest- posttest Control Group Design. The population in this study is all students in class VIII SMPN 3 Jati Agung. Sampling used class random technique by lottery technique, obtained class VIII A as experiment class and class VIII B as control class. Based on the results of the N-gain hypothesis test the ability to understand mathematical concepts in the material builds up a flat side space (cubes and beams) at signification level  obtained value and . Because . Its means  is rejected. Thus, it can be concluded that the ability to understand student’s mathematical concepts with The Firing Line strategy is better than ordinary learning models.

Abstract

This experimental quasi is aimed to know the influence of Co-op Co-op model independently on problem solving abilities in terms of student learning style. This research method is a quasy experiment with quantitative approach. The subjects of the study were the students of class X IPS 3 and Class X IPS 4. Subject take technique done by perposive sampling. The experimental class used the co-op self-co-op learning model and the control class using the conventional co-op co-op learning model. Data were collected using written test techniques to obtain data on problem solving abilities and student learning styles. Data analysis techniques in hypothesis testing using two away anava, followed by tukey test. The results of this study obtained the average value of experimental class 1 taught with Co-op self-co-op learning model is 65.56, the average experiment class 2 is 66.33 and the average control class that is taught by the model of learning Co-op conventional co-op is 59.83. Based on the result of the research, it can be concluded that (1) There is influence of independent co-op co-op model and learning style to problem solving ability, (2) Co-op Co-op model independent of problem solving ability, (3) learning styles on problem-solving skills and (4) there is an interaction between Co-op co-op models and learning styles in influencing problem-solving abilities.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the relationship between self confidence on the mathematical problem-solving abilities of students of SMK on the sequence and series material. The method in this research is descriptive qualitative. The place of research conducted at SMK Al-Ibrohimiyah Cianjur academic year 2018/2019 class XII Administration Offices with the number of 17 students. The instruments in this research are self confidence scale questionnaire and math solving ability test. Analysis of data used in this study using SPSS 21.00 with product moment analysis to measure the relationship of self confidence to the ability of problem solving mathematically. Based on the calculation, the result of data analysis shows that there is a correlation coefficient (r) of 0.784 with p = 0,000 (p <0.01) which means there is a significant positive relationship between self confidence on the ability of problem solving mathematically. This means that self confidence covering the aspects that exist in it can be used as a predictor to measure the ability of problem solving mathematically, the higher the self confidence of students, the students have good problem solving skills, otherwise the lower the students' self confidence, the students has a poor problem solving ability.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the effect of blended learning models to self-regulated learning of mathematics in eight-grade student in West Lampung. This study uses a quasi-experimental design with a population of all eighth-grade students of SMP Negeri 1 Way Tenong. Classes are randomly selected and treated with blended learning models. The instrument used is a self-regulated learning questionnaire. The results of this study indicate that blended learning models can improve self-regulated learning of mathematics.

Abstract

This study aims to develop a mathematics education game on Trigonometry material. The type of this research is research and development (R & D) using the ADDIE development model. The steps consist of: (1) Analysis, (2) Design, (3) Development, (4) Implementation, (5) Evaluation. Media validation is carried out by material experts and media experts. Material validity reached 78% in the good category and media validity reached 96.43% in the very good category. Media trials were conducted at SMK Negeri 2 Salatiga class XI TEI A on 35 students and produced a practical index of 98% in the very good category. The results of media implementation showed that after using the media, experiencing an increase in learning outcomes of 1.1814 was included in the high increase category. Based on the results of the study it can be concluded that the media mathematics education game is valid, practical, and effective to use.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the enhancement of mathematical connection ability and self-study of senior high school students through an open-ended approach. The research method used in this study was a mixed method with embedded type and a quasi-experimental design. The populations of this study were all students of public senior high schools in Karawang. Furthermore, the sample of this study was the tenth-grade students. Samples were taken by purposive sampling technique. Data in this study was collected by mathematical connection ability test and self-study test. The results are: 1) the achievement and enhancement of mathematical connection ability of students that use an open-ended approach is better than students who use conventional learning; 2) self-study of students that use an open-ended approach is better than students who use conventional learning; 3) there is a significant association between the qualification of students’ mathematical connection ability and students’ self-study. Based on the results of the study, it can be concluded that students and teachers need a learning that can stimulate students’ intellectual abilities and experiences in the process of finding something new.

Abstract

Angklung Paglak is a typical Banyuwangi angklung musical instrument that is heard from above using the tone of the Banyuwangian genre. Angklung Paglak has many things that can be explored to be used with mathematical concepts. The purpose of this study is to find out mathematics concept in angklung paglak Banyuwangi This research is exploratory-descriptive research. Data collection is done by literature review, observation, interviews and documentation. Data were analyzed by qualitative methods. The results of this study indicate that: (1) The characteristics of angklung paglak Banyuwangi in terms of shape and process are the same as the other Banyuwangi angklung types. Angklung paglak and other Banyuwangi angklung have differences in terms of many players. Paglak angklung players were 4 people, 2 angklung players and 2 drums players while the other Banyuwangi angklung players varied. (2) The mathematical concept in  angklung paglak  is about two or three-dimensional geometric shapes; traditional measurement units; concept of equating length to an object; and concept of equating length to an object.
