Abstract

This study aspires to analyze the elementary school prospective teachers' critical thinking viewed from the gender aspect. The method employed was a quantitative study with a descriptive approach. Conducted at Elementary School Teacher Education Department, this study involved 25 male students and 25 female students as participants. Data collection was done by means of a test about environmental pollution material. Facione's theory, comprising interpretation, evaluation, analysis, inference, and self-regulation, was used to analyze critical thinking. To analyze the data, descriptive quantitative analysis was employed. The findings shows that female elementary school prospective teacher students have better critical thinking skills than male students. It is shown by the higher average of every indicator in females with 3.1 in the good category, while the males’ average is 2.46 in the fair category. The lecturers have to take gender into account in facilitating critical thinking skills by implementing supportive learning methods, facilitating students’ learning styles, and providing challenging questions.

Abstract

The purpose of this study was to analyze the research trends development of management on child-friendly schools (CFS) management at the elementary school. The research method used is bibliometric analysis. Data was obtained from the Google Scholar database in the form of papers published in international journals from 2017-2022. Data processing was carried out in three stages, 1) data collection, 2) data selection and 3) data analysis using VOSviewer. The results showed that the trend of research development on management of child-friendly school was highest in 2013 with 162 publications. The results of the overlay analysis shown in yellow circles indicate research topics that are often used in recent research, namely young child, early childhood education, children, appropriate education, need, school closure, learning, pandemic, covid, parent and home. While topics that are rarely used are clinician, school climate, school closure, disability, anxiety, autism spectrum disorder, women. The results of this study illustrate that the research topic for management of child-friendly school can be developed towards the term model of friendly schools for women and disabilities, development of a child-friendly school climate, and friendly schools for children with special needs.

Abstract

Individuals start their educational journey with their differences, and it is important to plan education in accordance with the differences. Within the scope of examining the needs of MEB Public Schools for Special Education, the purpose of the study is to determine and examine the needs necessary for the continuity of the education-training process under the umbrella of the “Education System”. The study was carried out in a special education school. The data of the study was collected with a “Semi-Structured Interview Form” in the “Case Study” design of the qualitative research method. The findings obtained from the participants were classified under several headings such as special education teachers’ professional competence and personal rights, students’ educational needs and services offered to them, the location and structural condition of the school; the budget and financial needs of the school, the relations between the school and the family, the school and environment, etc. . In line with the purpose of the study, comparisons were made within the theoretical framework, and suggestions were made. The results of the study related to the needs show that the special education schools, special education students and their families, and even the social environment factor should be considered as a whole.

Abstract

The purpose of this study was to develop electronic Students Worksheets (LKPD) based on local wisdom assisted by Liveworksheets in the thematic learning of class V Madrasah Ibtidaiyah for Hybrid Learning. This research was an RD research with the development of a Worksheet using a 4D model. The instrument used was a list of interview questions and questionnaires. The number of students used for the product trial was 58 students from four Islamic Madrasahs in Palangka Raya City. The results showed that the electronic Students Worksheets was developed using a number of stages. The first stage is the definition namely needs analysis and curriculum analysis. The second stage is designing the contents of the electronic Students Worksheets and making a feasibility test instrument. The third stage is development which consists of feasibility test and revision. The fourth stage is dissemination which consists of product testing, packaging and distribution to schools. Based on the results of the feasibility test, the electronic Students Worksheets was in the "Very Feasible " category. The results of the trial at four schools showed that the electronic Students Worksheets was in the "Very Good" category.

Abstract

This study aims to look at the effectiveness of the Connect, Investigation, Analyze and Conclution (CIAC) learning model on the Nature of Science (NOS) abilities of elementary school students on empirical characteristics. The research method used was a pre-experimental design with a One Group Pretest-Posttest Design with 38 elementary school students in Bandung Regency as the subject of research. Data collection methods used are questionnaires and observation. Meanwhile, to analyze the data using the normality test, homogeneity test, t test and gain test. The results showed that the average NOS pretest score of students on empirical properties was 2,56 and the average posttest NOS score of students on empirical properties was 2,86 this resulted in a gain value of 0,21. Based on the above results, the CIAC learning model can improve students' NOS abilities in the empirical aspect in elementary schools, especially girls if seen from the increase. In addition, students' interest in science is an important point in the acquisition of students' NOS abilities.

Abstract

This study aims to describe the profile of primary students' self-reliance in West Java Indonesia. This initial study is needed in order to provide a portrait of the primary student self-reliance, especially students’ independent living skills. This will be very useful for each student to be ready to face their future life. A survey is used to get the data needed. There were 366 teachers represented from 20 counties and 10 cities in West Java. They teach 92,1% at public schools 7,9% at private schools. By using Winstep for Windows and reliability 0,96 by the Rasch Model, the Mean Person Measure value of 0.27 logit shows the tendency of respondents who answer more to agree with statements. The tendency for student self-reliance is in the moderate category, which means students are able to 1) identify, explore, and analyze problems, 2) take the initiative to be self-reliant, and 3) be relied on by others. Therefore, the recommendation is to develop a micro curriculum model to support students’ self-reliance on finishing tasks or solving problems in independent living skills besides supporting those three self-reliance competence aspects at the primary school level in West Java

Abstract

Abstract. For a teacher who teaches science concepts to a group of students, they ought to investigate the level of understanding from various background, including one of the differences in the dominant multiple intelligences (MI) possessed by students. This level of understanding can be identified from the ability of students to understand concepts in a series of learning phases through tests of understanding the initial concepts and final concepts of a topic of teaching material. This study aims to map the level of conceptual change in electricity based on two types of elementary school students' MI, namely logical-mathematical intelligence and naturalist intelligence through a problem-based learning model with a scientific approach and experimental methods. The research findings show that 1) the profile of students' multiple intelligence levels in the logical-mathematical type of intelligence has a relatively similar trend pattern with naturalist intelligence in the subjects studied and in the learning process about electricity; 2) students are distributed at the level of understanding based on their conceptual change from initial understanding to final understanding in almost all categories, with the largest percentage (47.83%) of students being at the level of revising with 4 different variants, and 4.35% of students being at the level of complete their knowledge; and 3) students' understanding of the concept of electricity is randomly distributed at all conceptual levels, both on the type of logical-mathematical multiple intelligence and on the type of naturalist intelligence.

Abstract

This study aims to identify how the transformational leadership model in improving the quality of academic services implemented in elementary schools. This study was conducted using survey methods and interviews with 50 elementary school teachers in Sumedang, West Java Province, Indonesia. This study aims to find out how implementing transformational leadership in elementary schools improves academic services across different dimensions, aiming to identify the average improvement. The findings indicated that the overall dimensions of the transformational leadership model were rated as good. These dimensions include idealized influence (charismatic), intellectual stimulation, individual consideration, and inspirational motivation. While not achieving a perfect score, it is anticipated that the average scores across these four dimensions of the transformational leadership model will significantly contribute to improving the quality of academic services in elementary schools.
