Abstract

The purpose of the research was to explore students’ pragmatic awareness and their ability in recognizing grammatical and pragmatic problematic scenarios. There were 25 B2 level students of English Literature study program participated in the study. All students were in their forth year of study and have completed Pragmatics course. The participants were asked to read 15 scenarios of judgment task and to decide whether the given scenarios presented pragmatic or grammatical problem or were unproblematic. The result revealed that the participants were better in recognizing pragmatic problems, followed by the identification of unproblematic scenarios and lastly, participants’ were weakest at recognizing grammatical errors.

Abstract

The design of this research is classroom action research (CAR), following the Kemmis & Mc model. Taggart. The aim is to improve the learning abilities and independence of students of the Unsub mathematics education study program using the ACE (activities, class discussion, exercise) learning cycle in the Introduction to Algebraic Structure (PSA) course. The research subjects were 5th semester students (odd) who contacted the PSA course. The procedure for collecting data is through observation, independent learning questionnaires, interviews, and learning outcomes. Furthermore, the data were analyzed qualitatively following the flow model, with the stages of reducing data, presenting data, and drawing conclusions and verification. The results showed that the PSA lectures used the ACE learning cycle showing that: (1) in the activities phase; students in groups carry out activities outside the classroom; discuss the problems contained in the LKM well, (2) in the class discussion phase, students in groups carry out discussions in the classroom based on problems shared outside the previous class, then present the results, and (3) in the exercise phase ; the lecturer gives practice and test questions to complete. The results of the final tests, observations, and interviews showed that student learning independence increased from 62.15% (cycle I) to 86.05% in cycle II. In conclusion, the application of the ACE learning cycle in the Introduction to Algebraic Structures course can improve the ability and independence of student mathematics teacher candidate learning.

Abstract

This study aims to describe the effect of the Problem Solving approach on the mathematical reasoning abilities of Class V Elementary School students. This research is a quasi-experimental research using one experimental class and one control class. One experimental class, namely SDN Rejondani with a problem solving approach and one control class that was not given treatment, namely SDN Potrojayan II. Learning achievement and mathematical reasoning abilities are measured using test instruments in the form of short answer questions and essay questions. Hypothesis testing using one way ANOVA univariate test. The results showed that problem solving had an effect on mathematical reasoning abilities with a significance value of 0.014 (p > 0.05).

Abstract

Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian pengembangan perangkat dengan produk hasilnya adalah  bahan ajar IPA  berorientasi High Order Thinking Skills dan pendidikan karakter melalui Problem Based Learning (PBL) pada siswa kelas VII SMP Negeri 3 Kota Ternate. Penyusunan bahan ajar IPA yang dilakukan oleh guru di SMP Negeri 3 Kota Ternate masih mengacu pada buku guru,  belum memuat pengembangan High Order Thinking Skills dan penanaman nilai-nilai karakter. Oleh sebab itu dalam penelitian ini peneliti mengembangkan bahan ajar berorientasi High Order Thinking Skills dan pendidikan karakter melalui Problem Based Learning. Metode penelitian pengembangan perangkat pembelajaran ini menggunakan metode yang disusun oleh Thiagarajan yaitu model 4D. Metode ini terdiri dari 4 tahap pengembangan, yaitu define, design, develop, dan disseminate. Berdasarkan hasil penilaian dari expert judgement yaitu guru dan siswa menunjukkan bahwa bahan ajar IPA  berorientasi High Order Thinking Skills dan pendidikan karakter melalui Problem Based Learning  memenuhi kriteria cukup valid sehingga layak digunakan sebagai salah satu media penunjang dalam pembelajaran.

Abstract

Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk meningkatkan kemampuan Mathematical Creative Problem Solving (MCPS) melalui penggunaan multimedia matematika interaktif bagi siswa SD. Penelitian kuasi eksperimen dengan posttest control group design ini melibatkan 136 siswa kelas IV dan V dari dua jenjang Sekolah Dasar Negeri di Kota Tidore Kepulauan, yang masing-masing terdiri dari satu kelas eksperimen dan satu kelas kontrol. Instrumen yang digunakan meliputi: butir soal tes kemampuan MCPS dan mathematical habits of mind (MHM). Data penelitian untuk skor tes awal, tes akhir, dan gain ternormalisasi kemampuan MCPS dianalisis dengan menggunakan ANOVA dua jalur dan Mann-Whitney. Berdasarkan hasil analisis data, ditemukan bahwa terdapat perbedaan peningkatan kemampuan MCPS dan disposisi MHM secara signifikan antara siswa yang mendapat pembelajaran menggunakan multimedia matematika interaktif (kelas eksperimen) dan siswa yang mendapat pembelajaran konvensional (kelas kontrol) berdasarkan kedua level sekolah (tinggi dan sedang). Hasil Penelitian ini disimpulkan bahwa peningkatan kemampuan MCPS siswa SD yang mendapatkan pembelajaran menggunakan multimedia matematika interaktif lebih baik dibandingkan dengan pembelajaran konvensional ditinjau dari kedua level sekolah.

Abstract

Learning is an effort to teach a person or group through various efforts and various strategies, methods and approaches towards achieving the planned goals. The purpose of this study was to find out the application of the Jigsaw learning model in improving class X student learning outcomes on the material on the development of the Prophet Muhammad's Da'wah in the Mecca period in the subject of SKI Madrasah Aliyah Negeri 2 Halmahera Utara. Research is a Class Action Research (CAR) to get the truth and practical benefits by taking action in a collaborative and participatory manner. The research subjects included 22 students of Class X IPA 1 at Madrasah Aliyah Negeri 2 North Halmahera, consisting of 13 girls and 9 boys. The results showed that the application of the jigsaw cooperative learning model could improve the learning outcomes of class X MAN 2 North Halmahera. In cycle I, the scores of students who had not reached the KKM were 7 students (31%), while in cycle II there was an increase in learning outcomes of 87.5% or 21 students who had completed. Student activity measured during learning in cycle I was still relatively low with an activity percentage of 31.81%, while in cycle II there was an increase of 95.45%. This means that the implementation of learning has been going very well.

Abstract

Kemampuan berbahasa siswa pada umumnya bervariasi, ada siswa yang memiliki kemampuan berbahasa yang baik dan ada siswa yang lemah kemampuan berbahasanya. Hal ini tentunya sesuai dengan perkembangan bahasanya belum sampai pada tingkat kebahasaan yang sesuai kaidah, kondisi siswa seperti ini akan mengalami kesulitan dalam menulis. Yang menjadi tujuan dalam penelitian adalah untuk analisis kesalahan penggunaan kata baku pada teks laporan hasil observasi siswa kelas X MAN 2 Halmahera Utara. Metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah metode deskriptif kualitatif yang mana peneliti memberi gambaran tentang fenomena yang dialami oleh siswa dalam menggunakan kata baku dalam teks laporannya.  Pengumpulan  data  yang  dilakukan  dari  penelitian  ini berupa  kata-kata atau gambaran tentang sesuatu yang akan dipaparkan  dalam  bentuk  laporan  penelitian kasuistik. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa kesalahan penggunaan kata baku pada teks laporan hasil observasi dibedakan menjadi lima bagian, yaitu kesalahan penggantian huruf, penghilangan huruf, penyederhaaan huruf, ejaan, dan pilihan kata. Adapun jumlah kesalahan penggantian huruf sebesar 18,6%, kesalahan penghilangan huruf sebesar 12,2%, kesalahan penyederhanaan huruf sebesar 6.1%, kesalahan ejaan sebesar 60 %, dan kesalahan pilihan kata sebesar 3.7%.

Abstract

Teaching materials are one of the elements that support the teaching and learning process. Science learning is the most enjoyable learning so that in the process of learning biology on the material concept of the general characteristics of plants, especially in the sub-subject matter of ferns, it can be done with learning media assisted by corporate pdf. This study aims to (a) determine the validity of the use of PDF corporate learning media on the concept of material General characteristics of plants in class X students at SMA Negeri 5 Kota Ternate, (b) To find out the learning outcomes of SMA Negeri 5 Kota Ternate on the material characteristics concept -general characteristics of plants using coprate PDF media. Learning media validation was assessed by 4 validators to obtain media and material validation data, while learning outcomes data were analyzed using Excell 2010. The results of this study show that the media validation results obtained a score of 89% with valid criteria, while the material validation results obtained a score of 91.3%. with very valid criteria. The learning outcomes of class X IPA 4 at SMA Negeri 5 Kota Ternate experienced an increase in learning outcomes after the teaching and learning process used PDF Corporate assisted learning media.

Abstract

This research aims to find out the students competence in using present continuous tense by the second grade at SMA Negeri 6 Kota Ternate. This research applied a descriptive quantitative method. The population was the eleventh grade of SMA Negeri 6 Kota Ternate with 47 students. The research sample consisted of 20 students. The data collection was through a writing test and interview. Then, the data were analyzed by descriptive statistical analysis. The results of this study showed that the proportion (frequency and percentage) of the test result was 15% got good, 25% got fairly good, 20% got fair, 5% got poor, and 35% got very poor. Most of the respondents got poor classification. It means that the score of students in present continuous tense is still low. The biggest error that is produced by eleventh grade students of SMA Negeri 6 Kota Ternate in using present continuous tense is because of misformation.

Abstract

This study aims to measure students' ability to understand Algebraic Limits of Function material which is integrated into the verses of the Qur'an using the discovery learning model in class XI IPA Madrasah Aliyah Negeri 2 Halmahera Utara for the 2021/2022 Academic Year. The research method is classroom action research (CAR). Data collection techniques used tests in cycle I and tests in cycle II, while data analysis used descriptive analysis to determine individual student learning completeness, classical completeness KKM) Mathematics class XI IPA 1 set at Madrasah Aliyah Negeri 2 Halmahera Utara is 75. The results showed that students of class XI IPA 1 Madrasah Aliyah Negeri 2 North Halmahera had the ability to understand Algebraic Function Limit material which was integrated into the verses of the Qur'an using the discovery learning model and there was an increase in student learning outcomes through the application This discovery learning model can be seen from the learning outcomes in the first cycle which achieved completeness of only 8 students (31%) while in the second cycle it increased to 21 students (81%).
