Abstract

Language is a sound system that used people in a communication to share idea and feeling in a society. There are three terms that have to know by a language learner. They are langage, Langue, dan parole. In linguistics study, the object of linguistics is parole. In the process of communication, usually make a linguistic change and linguistic shift. Although, linguistic change and linguistic shift are made by a language user, but also he or she maintain his or her language. A couse of linguistic change and linguistic shift is social mobility. Social mobility is a process of moving from a social class to another social class. Social class can be devided become two kinds. They are vertical social class and horizontal social class.     Key words: Language change, social mobility

Abstract

This study aims to (1) get the types of grammatical (auxiliary) errors in non-fiction text writing among the second semester students of the English Education Department of Khairun University in the academic year of 2013/2014, and (2) get the sources of grammatical (auxiliary) errors in writing at the second semester students of the English Education Department of Khairun University in the academic year 2013/2014.                The design of this research was qualitative research using the descriptive qualitative approach. The participants consisted of 12 students The main data were obtained from the 12 students’ compositions and the other data were collected from interviews.   The results of the research show that (1) the students make errors in omission, addition, and misformation of be (be, am, is, are, was, were, beeb), do (do, does), have (have, has, had)  and modals (can, must, will). (2) The source of error is intralingual errors and interlingual error. (3) The students also make error in using verbs after modal auxiliary. It means that the students still lack in mastering auxiliary verbs. Key word: Error Analysis, auxiliary verbs

Abstract

The 2013 curriculum suggests that learning must be integrated or commonly known as integrated thematic learning. Thematic learning in elementary schools usually combines material on several subjects into one theme. The references used by both teachers and students are provided by the government, namely teachers’ book and students’ book. The teachers directly teach their students using references provided without analyzing or further developing by the teacher. The implementation of 2013 curriculum requires teachers to be creative in using various learning models and scientific approaches. With these demands the teacher should be able to develop teaching materials in accordance with the learning model. This research is motivated by the importance of developing integrated thematic teaching materials based on Problem Based Learning models that are able to improve the critical thinking skills of fifth grade students. The study was conducted for 3 months. This type of research is development research refers to the 4-D model proposed by Thiagarajan, but this research is limited to defining, designing and developing. The instrument used to assess the quality of teaching materials is a questionnaire with five categories, while students' critical thinking skills use test instrument. Data analysis was performed by descriptive analysis. The results of the analysis show that integrated thematic teaching materials based on Problem Based Learning (PBL) on heat and its transfer are stated to meet valid criteria and practicality, because teaching materials are developed based on supporting theories consistently and can be used easily. Whereas in the effectiveness test of integrated thematic teaching materials based on problem based learning, it was declared effective to be used because the developed teaching materials had a positive impact in increasing students' critical thinking skills.

Abstract

The purpose of this study was to identify the most dominant student errors and to find out the types of errors made in the fourth semester of Khairun University. In collecting data, the researcher used an instrument in the form of a test. The subjects of this study were students of class B in the fourth semester of Khairun University, totaling 15 people. In analyzing the data, the researcher used qualitative methods as research methods. The researcher collects data from students' writing products and then the data is analyzed by Surface Strategy Taxonomy. The researcher identified and classified the types of errors in the use of the simple present tense in writing descriptive texts by students, to find out which errors were the most dominant. The results showed that the students' total errors were 85 errors. The students made errors in omissions of 25 (29.41%), 24 additions (28.23%), 6 sequence errors (07.14%). Based on the results of the study, it was found that the most dominant student error was the formation error of 30 items (35.51%).

Abstract

The development research done at MTs Negeri 2 Halmahera Utara aims to: (1) produce physics teaching materials based on local wisdom in the Energy material for MTs class VII students, and (2) determine the feasibility of physics teaching materials based on local wisdom Energy materials for MTs students in class VII. This development research refers to the 4 steps of the 4-D model development design proposed by Thiagarajan, namely the stages of defining, designing, developing, and disseminating. The product trial consisted of validation by material experts, media experts, linguists, science teachers, and 5 students of MTs Negeri 2 Halmahera Utara class VII. Collecting data using interview guidelines, expert validation sheets, and understanding test sheets of teaching materials. This research produces a product in the form of physics teaching materials based on local wisdom in the form of a printed book and is suitable for use with eligibility criteria including content eligibility of 94% very feasible category, presentation feasibility 90% very feasible category, graphic feasibility 88% very feasible category, feasibility linguistics of 88% in the very appropriate category, and the average comprehension test of teaching materials of 90.5 in the high category.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui kesalahan paling umum yang dilakukan siswa. Metodologi dalam penelitian ini adalah metode penelitian kualitatif yang bersifat deskriptif. Dalam pengumpulan data digunakan teknik observasi, teks tulis, dokumentasi dan angket. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa masih banyak kesalahan dalam penulisan teks laporan. Peneliti menemukan sebelas kesalahan umum yang dilakukan siswa saat menulis, yaitu omitting word, word choice, spelling, adding a word, punctuation, incomplete sentence, singular-plural, word order, capitalization, article, dan word form. Jenis kesalahan yang paling dominan dilakukan siswa adalah omitting word dengan total sebelas kesalahan. word choice dan spelling dengan total delapan kesalahan. yang ketiga adalah adding a word dengan total lima kesalahan. Berikut ini adalah punctuation dan incomplete sentence dengan jumlah tiga kesalahan yang sama. kemudian yang kelima adalah singular- plural, word order, dan capitalization dengan total dua kesalahan. kesalahan terendah terakhir yang dilakukandengan jumlah satu kesalahan. Kemudian ada dua jenis sumber kesalahan yang dilakukan siswa saat menulis, yaitu intralingual transfer dengan jumlah kesalahan terbanyak 36 yang masuk dalam kategori ini. Sumber kedua adalah transfer antarbahasa dengan total sepuluh kesalahan.

Abstract

Madrasah Tsanawiyah Sahabat Cendikia (MTs SC) Ternate is one of the schools that has not been accredited. Actually, the eight components of the national education standard have been implemented by MTs SC, but the documents and activity reports are not well administered. The results of interviews with partner madrasah principals obtained the same problem, namely the low value of each component of the SNP which refers to the accreditation instrument. Training programs and assistance in the preparation of accreditation forms by the community service team are the solutions offered to help partner school problems. The stages of this community service program include: (1) the training stage, (2) the stage of assisting the preparation of the accreditation form, (3) the stage of assisting the fulfillment of the physical documents of accreditation, (4) the evaluation stage. Training in the fulfillment of physical documents and supporting documents provides understanding and skills to the form drafting team in preparing physical documents and supporting documents in accordance with technical instructions and a list of needs that have been made previously. Training through tutorials on how to fill out instruments through the IASP 2020 application provides understanding and skills to the form-writing team on how to use the application

Abstract

Tujuan dari penelitian ini yaitu untuk mengetahui sejauhmanakah penggunaan model pembelajaran siklus 5E untuk meningkatkan pemahaman membaca siswa di kelas 2 SMP Negeri 40 Halmahera Selatan. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode kuantitatif khususnya pre -experimental dan menggunakan satu grup test awal dan test ahir. Populasi dalam penelitian ini adalah siswa kelas 2 SMP Negeri 40 Halmahera Selatan dengan total berjumlah 26 siswa. Peneliti menggunakan semua siswa di kelas tersebut sebagai sample dengan menggunakan  conveniont sample. Instrumen ini menggunakan soal pilihan ganda 50 butir soal test awal dan test ahir kemudian analisis menggunakan rumus t-test. Hasil ini menginformasikan bahwa ada perbedaan signifikan antara pretest dan posttest dari pencapaian siswa. Pada hasil nilai tes awal 914 dan tes akhir 1280, kemudian hasil dari analisis statistik pada level signifikan 0.05 dan degree of freedom (df) adalah 25. Menunjukkan bahwa t-test 11.34 lebih besar dari pada t-table 1.708. Dapat disimpulkan bahwa sebagian besar pemahaman membaca siswa meningkat sesudah menggunakan model pembelajaran siklus 5E.

Abstract

Peneliti menggunakan metode kualitatif dalam penelitian. Peneliti membagikan link kepada siswa yang berisi kuesioner tentang persepsi siswa dalam strategi belajar kemudian siswa mengisi kuesioner melalui google form. Dari hasil tanggapan siswa maka hasilnya pun sudah otomatis masuk di goole form. Setelah itu peneliti menganalisis hasil tanggapan dari siswa. Subjek dari penelitian ini yaitu sepuluh siswa di kelas tiga jurusan keperawatan di SMK N 3 Tikep. Hasil analisis menunjukan bahwa hanya 30% siswa saja yang memiliki strategi belajarnya sendiri, namun meskipun begitu mereka aktif dalam pembelajaran di kelas karna 70% dari mereka menjawab selalu. Berdasarkan hasil tanggapan dari siswa, peneliti dapat menyimpulkan bahwa strategi belajar siswa adalah strategi pembelajaran metakognitif karena siswa mencoba untuk mendapatkan hasil belajar yang baik, strategi pembelajaran meta-kognitif digunakan untuk mengawasi atau belajar bahasa langsung yang melibatkan berbagai proses, seperti perencanaan, memprioritaskan, menetapkan tujuan, dan manajemen diri. Peneliti menyimpulkan strategi meta-kognitif karena dilihat dari hasil tanggapan yang menjawab 80% dari mereka berusaha mendapatkan hasil belajar yang baik, untuk mendapatkan hasil belajar yang baik maka siswa harus merencanakan bagaimana bisa mendapatkan hasil belajar yang baik.
