Abstract

Abstract: This phenomenological study explored teacher perceptions of Islamic leadership values implementation in Islamic-based secondary schools (MTS) during management reform. Research involved ten teachers from three MTS in Pandeglang, Banten, Indonesia. Data were collected through semi-structured interviews (60-90 minutes) and analyzed using reflexive thematic analysis with ATLAS.ti software. The study examined five key dimensions: exemplary leadership (qudwah hasanah), interpersonal relations (ukhuwah Islamiyah), participatory decision-making (shura), management reform effectiveness, and teacher competency development. Findings reveal that teachers perceive Islamic leadership as a holistic integration of spiritual and operational dimensions. Notably, management reform synergizes with Islamic values when implemented gradually with cultural sensitivity, enhancing both operational efficiency and spiritual purposes (dakwah and tarbiyah). Teacher development integrates formal training with mentoring and peer support, fostering simultaneous professional competency and spiritual growth. This study provides empirical evidence from teacher perspectives—frontline implementers—demonstrating that modern management innovation and Islamic principles can effectively align in educational practice. Abstract

Abstract: This study aims to analyze the principal's policy in optimizing students' habituation to religious activities at MA Darul Ulum Semarang. The habituation of religious activities is one of the strategic efforts to internalize religious values in students' daily lives and to strengthen the religious culture within the madrasa environment. In the context of Islamic education, the principal plays a central role in formulating, directing, implementing, and evaluating policies that support the sustainable implementation of religious activities. This research employed a qualitative approach using a case study design. Data were collected through interviews, observations, and documentation. The collected data were analyzed using the Miles and Huberman model, which consists of data reduction, data display, and conclusion drawing. The findings reveal that the principal's policies play a significant role in fostering a religious culture among students through systematic program planning, teacher role modeling, and the provision of adequate facilities and infrastructure. Religious programs implemented regularly encourage students to engage in religious practices and facilitate the internalization of Islamic values in their daily lives. However, the implementation of these policies has not been fully optimal due to the gap between program planning and the internalization of religious values among students. The effectiveness of religious habituation is also influenced by the synergy among principals, teachers, students, and parents. The lack of alignment between the school and family environments remains one of the main obstacles to the internalization of religious values promoted through madrasa programs. In addition, variations in students' participation levels and inconsistencies in supervision affect the success of the planned programs. Therefore, transformational leadership is needed to strengthen the sustainable integration of religious values within the madrasa education system, ensuring that religious habituation is not merely carried out as a routine or formal activity but also generates a significant impact on students' religious awareness, attitudes, and behaviors. Abstract

Abstract: This study aims to provide an in-depth analysis of the synergy between human resource (HR) management and the use of information technology (IT) in improving school management performance in the digital era. Digital transformation in education requires schools not only to provide adequate technological infrastructure but also to ensure the readiness and competence of their human resources in operating, managing, and optimizing technology-based systems. This research employs a descriptive qualitative approach, using in-depth interviews with principals, teachers, and administrative staff as key informants. The collected data were analyzed through thematic analysis to identify patterns of collaboration, implementation challenges, and strategic efforts to strengthen the integration of HR and IT within school governance. The results reveal that the integration of IT into school management significantly enhances administrative efficiency, accelerates academic services, improves data accuracy, and increases communication transparency among schools, students, and parents. Digital competence, leadership capacity, and a collaborative work culture emerge as essential factors influencing the successful implementation of digital initiatives. However, several obstacles remain, including limited technological infrastructure, varying levels of technological proficiency among staff, and the lack of continuous professional development programs. This study concludes that strengthening digital competencies, fostering visionary leadership, and developing more comprehensive information systems are crucial strategies for creating modern, adaptive, and sustainable school management practices. Effective synergy between HR and IT not only improves the quality of educational services but also enhances the school’s competitiveness in navigating rapid technological advancements. Abstract

Rapid social and technological developments have an impact on the behavior of students in elementary school, including the emergence of individualism tendencies, declining academic honesty, and weakening social awareness. This condition shows that character training is not enough to be done through normative learning, but requires planned, systematic, and sustainable management of students. This research aims to examine in depth the management of students in the formation of honest character and social care in SD Muhammadiyah Plus Semarang. The main issue of this research is that the internalization of the values of honesty and social care in the real behavior of students has not been optimal, even though these values have been integrated into the curriculum and school culture. This research uses a qualitative approach with a case study type. The subjects of the study include school principals, classroom teachers, Islamic Religious Education teachers, and parents of students. Data collection techniques were carried out through in-depth interviews, observations, and documentation, while data analysis used Miles and Huberman's interactive model with triangulation of sources and time to maintain the validity of the data. The focus of the research is directed at planning, implementation, the role of teachers and the school environment, as well as the mechanism for monitoring and evaluating student character. The results of the study show that the management of students at SD Muhammadiyah Plus Semarang is carried out in an integrated manner through planning based on the values of honesty and social concern, daily habits such as character control books, cooperative learning, Friday infaq programs, and teacher examples. The school environment and parental involvement also strengthen the internalization of character values, so that students not only understand the value of honesty and social concern cognitively, but also feel them affectively and train them in daily life. This study concludes that consciously and consistently designed student management plays an important role in shaping honest and socially caring characters in elementary school students. Therefore, it is recommended that schools strengthen the synergy between student management planning, teacher examples, and parental involvement, as well as develop reflective and sustainable evaluation characters to ensure that character values are fully internalized in students. Abstract

Abstract: Improving the quality of education has become a strategic priority in developing competitive, adaptive, and high-quality human resources in the global era. In the context of vocational education, the demand for graduates’ relevance to labor market needs further emphasizes the importance of an effective and sustainable quality management system. Total Quality Management (TQM) is a managerial approach that focuses on continuous improvement through the active involvement of all organizational members. However, the implementation of TQM in vocational schools, particularly in regional contexts, still faces various contextual challenges that have not been extensively explored. Therefore, this study aims to analyze the implementation of TQM in improving educational quality at SMK Negeri 1 Buntok and to identify its supporting and inhibiting factors. This study employed a qualitative approach using a case study design. Data were collected through observations, in-depth interviews, and document analysis involving the principal, teachers, administrative staff, and school committee as key informants. Data analysis was conducted interactively through data reduction, data display, and conclusion drawing to obtain a comprehensive and contextual understanding. The findings reveal that the implementation of TQM at SMK Negeri 1 Buntok has been carried out systematically and integrated into the eight National Education Standards. The principal plays a crucial role as a key driver in fostering a quality culture through transformational, collaborative, and data-driven leadership. In addition, active participation of school members and community support serve as key enabling factors. However, several challenges remain, including the mismatch between teachers’ competencies and their teaching assignments, as well as the uneven understanding of TQM concepts among educators. This study contributes empirically to the enrichment of TQM literature in vocational education, particularly in regional contexts, and highlights that successful TQM implementation is determined by the synergy between leadership, organizational culture, and human resource readiness. Abstract

Abstract: This study aims to analyze digital marketing-based public relations management strategies for increasing the appeal of MAN 3 Cilacap to new students, as well as to identify the supporting factors, inhibiting factors, and implications of these strategies for the institution’s image. The study employs a qualitative approach using a case study design to gain an in-depth understanding of the implementation of digital marketing-based public relations strategies in the context of a madrasah. The research informants consisted of the Madrasah Vice Principal for Public Relations and the Madrasah Vice Principal for Student Affairs, who were selected through purposive sampling. Data were collected through in-depth interviews, observations, and documentation, then analyzed using the Miles, Huberman, and Saldaña interactive model, which includes data reduction, data presentation, and drawing conclusions. The results of the study indicate that the digital marketing-based public relations management strategy is implemented through four management functions: planning, organizing, executing, and evaluating. Promotional strategies are implemented by leveraging digital media such as Instagram, Facebook, YouTube, WhatsApp, and the madrasah’s official website, and are reinforced through direct outreach, the publicization of student achievements, extracurricular activities, and alumni engagement. Key supporting factors include leadership support, teamwork, availability of digital media, and student achievements, while inhibiting factors include limited human resources, competition among educational institutions, and consistency in content production. The research findings indicate that digital marketing-based public relations strategies contribute to enhancing the visibility, positive image, and appeal of MAN 3 Cilacap within the community. This study strengthens the field of educational public relations management by emphasizing the importance of integrating management functions and digital marketing as an effective communication strategy in the digital age. Abstract

Abstract: This study aims to analyze the management of science and tahfidz excellence class programs based on academic and spiritual outputs at MTs Masalikil Huda Tahunan Jepara. The study focuses on the functions of planning, organizing, implementation, and evaluation, as well as the supporting and inhibiting factors affecting the achievement of each program's intended outputs. This research employed a qualitative approach using a case study design. The research participants consisted of the principal, the vice principal for curriculum affairs, teachers of the science excellence program, tahfidz teachers, and students enrolled in the science and tahfidz excellence class programs. Data were collected through interviews, observations, and documentation, and were analyzed using the Miles and Huberman interactive model, which includes data reduction, data display, and conclusion drawing. The findings indicate that the management of the science and tahfidz excellence class programs is implemented through the functions of planning, organizing, implementation, and evaluation, which are designed based on the intended outputs of each program. The science excellence program is managed to achieve academic outputs in the form of academic achievement, critical thinking skills, research competence, and competition readiness, whereas the tahfidz excellence program is managed to achieve spiritual outputs through Qur'an memorization targets and the development of students' religious character. These differences in output serve as the basis for designing the management functions of each program. The success of the programs is supported by teachers' commitment, the utilization of educational technology, and the madrasah's religious culture. Meanwhile, the main challenges include limited educational facilities and infrastructure, low learning motivation among some students, insufficient parental involvement, and limited supervision in the non-boarding tahfidz program. The findings further indicate that program management designed based on academic and spiritual outputs effectively supports the achievement of each program's objectives and contributes to enhancing the competitiveness of the madrasah.
