Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh ekstrak buah naga (Hylocereus polyhizius) dalam air minum terhadap kualitas telur ayam Isa Brown umur 25-30 minggu.Penelitian ini dilaksanakan di Kandang Fakultas Peternakan, Kampus Bukit Jimbaran, berlangsung selama 5 minggu. Uji kualitas telur dilakukan di Laboratorium Ternak Unggas, Fakultas Peternakan, Kampus Sudirman, Denpasar.Rancangan penelitian yang digunakan adalah, Rancangan Acak Lengkap (RAL) terdiri dari 2 perlakuan ayam Isa Brown diberikan 0% ekstrak buah naga dalam air minum (R0) dan ayam Isa Brown diberikan 5% ekstrak buah naga dalam air minum (R1), masing-masing perlakuan diulang9 kalisetiap ulangan terdiri dari 3 ekor ayam petelur Isa Brown sehingga total ayam yang digunakan sebanyak 54 ekor. Variabel yang diamati adalah kualitas eksternal meliputi berat telur dan indeks telur, dan kualitas internal meliputi tebal kerabang telur, berat kerabang telur, pH, warna kuning telur, haugh unit (HU). Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa berat telur, tebal kerabang telur, berat kerabang telur, warna kuning telur dan haugh unit (HU) perlakuan R1 nyata (P<0,05) lebih baikdi bandingkan dengan perlakuan R0. Sedangkan indeks telur dan pH telur pada perlakuan R0 tidaknyata (P>0,05) di bandingkan R1. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian dapat disimpulkan bahwa Ayam Isa Brown dengan pemberian 5% ekstrak buah naga dalam air minum dengan ransum komersialmemberikan kualitas yang lebih baik terhadap berat telur, tebal kerabang telur, berat kerabang telur, warna kuning telur dan haugh unit (HU) dan tidak berpengaruh terhadap indeks bentuk telur dan pH telur. Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh suplementasi asam-asam amino esensial pada pakan dasar jagung-pollard terhadap persentase bobot organ dalam babi bali jantan. Penelitian ini dilaksanakan di Jalan Sindureja, Banjar Batu Paras, Desa Padangsambian Kaja, Denpasar Barat selama 12 Minggu. Babi yang digunakan adalah babi bali jantan sebanyak 9 ekor dengan rata-rata berat badan awal 11,41 ± 0,91kg. Rancangan yang digunakan adalah Rancangan Acak Lengkap (RAL) dengan 3 perlakuan dan 3 kali ulangan. Perlakuan tersebut adalah babi bali jantan yang diberikan ransum jagung kuning 50%, pollard 49%, NaCl 0,5% dan campuran mineral 0,5% (P0), babi bali jantan yang diberikan ransum P0 + suplementasi asam-asam amino lisin 0,75%, metionin 0,20% dan triptofan 0,07% (P1), dan babi babi jantan yang diberikan ransum rekomendasi dengan ME/CP ratio = 2800 kkal/kg/16% (P2). Variabel yang diamati adalah persentase bobot jantung, bobot paru-paru, bobot hati, bobot ginjal, bobot pankreas, bobot lambung, bobot usus halus, dan bobot usus besar. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukan bahwa perlakuan (P1) nyata (P<0,05) mampu menurunkan persentase bobot jantung, paru-paru, hati, ginjal, pankreas, lambung, usus halus, dan usus besar. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian dapat disimpulkan bahwa suplementasi asam-asam amino esensial lisin, metionin, dan triptofan dalam pakan dasar jagung-pollard mampu menurunkan persentase bobot jantung, paru-paru, hati, ginjal, pankreas, lambung, usus halus dan usus besar. Abstract

Penelitian ini dilakukan untuk mempelajari pengaruh pemberian ekstrak daun kelor (Moringa oleifera Lam) dan bawang putih (Allium sativum) terhadap distribusi lemak tubuh dan kadar kolesterol broiler umur 2-6 minggu. Rancangan yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah rancangan acak lengkap (RAL) dengan tiga perlakuan dan enam kali ulangan. Ketiga perlakuan tersebut adalah ayam yang diberi air minum tanpa campuran ekstrak daun kelor (Moringa oleifera Lam) dan bawang putih (Allium sativum) sebagai kontrol A, ayam yang diberi air minum dengan 50g/liter ekstrak daun kelor (Moringa oleifera Lam) sebagai perlakuan B, dan ayam yang diberi air minum dengan 50g/liter ekstrak daun bawang putih (Allium sativum) sebagai perlakuan C. Pemberian air minum secara ad libitum. Variabel yang diamati dalam penelitian ini adalah pad-fat, mesenteric-fat, ventriculus-fat, abdominal-fat, dan kolesterol darah. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa pad-fat, mesenteric-fat, ventriculus-fat, abdominal-fat, dan kadar kolesterol dalam darah menurun secara nyata (P<0,05) dengan pemberian ekstrak daun kelor (Moringa oleifera Lam) dan daun bawang putih (Allium sativum) melalui air minum. Dari hasil penelitian ini, dapat disimpulkan bahwa pemberian ekstrak daun kelor (Moringa oleifera Lam) dan daun bawang putih (Allium sativum) melalui air minum dapat menurunkan lemak abdomen dan kadar kolesterol dalam darah broiler.

Abstract

This research was conducted at sobangan animal husbandry research station for 3 months, using 12 calves with body neight range 102,50 ± 4,41kg. Ration given and teses were analyzed. At the nutrition and feed laboratory of Animal Husbandry Faculty, Udayana University. Data obtained was analysed using a raudomized block design with 4 tretments and 3 replicates. Those treatment consisted of 4 rations contain different level of protein and energi ratio as follows 12% PK and 2000 ME kcal/kg (A), 13% PK and 2100 ME kcal/kg (B), 14% PK and 2200 ME kcal/kg (C), 15% PK and 2300 ME kcal/kg (D). Variablel observed includins body water contet, body fat, body protein and fat reteution. This study resulted in that the four dara meters observed were statistically not defferent (P>0,05) for all treatments.It can be conduted that the increased of protein and energi rations from 12% crude protein and 2000 ME kcal to 15% CP and 2300 ME kcal/kg gave no effect on body composition and fat retention on calves. However, the higher the crude protein and energi ration, the nigher fat retentioin on the body. Keywords: Balinese cattle, body composition, fat retention.

Abstract

Penelitian bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh pemberian pupuk bio-slurry terhadap pertumbuhan dan produksi hijauan Stylosanthes guianensis. Penelitian dilaksanakan selama 10 minggu di Stasiun Penelitian Fakultas Peternakan Universitas Udayana di Desa Pengotan, Kabupaten Bangli. Rancangan percobaan yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah rancangan acak kelompok (RAK) dengan empat perlakuan yaitu : tanpa pupuk (S0), 5 ton/ha (S5), 10 ton/ha (S10), dan 15 ton/ha (S15).  dan empat blok sebagai ulangan. Variabel yang diamati yaitu variabel pertumbuhan (tinggi tanaman, jumlah daun, jumlah cabang), variabel produksi (berat kering daun, berat kering batang dan berat kering total hjauan), dan variabel karakteristik tumbuh (luas daun per tanaman, nisbah berat kering daun dengan berat kering batang). Hasil penelitian dapat disimpulkan bahwa pemberian pupuk bio-slurry 5 ton/ha (S5), 10 ton/ha (S10), dan 15 ton/ha (S15) tidak berpengaruh terhadap variabel pertumbuhan, variabel produksi, dan variabel karakteristik. Pemberian perlakuan 5 ton/ha (S5) memberikan hasil terbaik terhadap pertumbuhan dan produksi Stylosanthes guianensis dibandingkan dengan perlakuan lainnya.

Abstract

The local chicken East Kalimantan (Nunukan chicken crossbreed) is one of the chickens crossing from Nunukan chicken and local chicken of East Kalimantan as one of genetic resources of genuine chicken from Borneo which has the potential to be a chicken breeding in Indonesia. This chicken is a native chicken Indonesia that has a different phenotypic diversity of other local chickens. The aim at the study was to compare and study chicken differentiation variables based on the size of rooster and hen’s local chickens of based on discriminant analysis approach. Phenotypic characteristics of body size used as the basis of characterization is body weight (BW), Height of Body (HB), Body length (BL), chest circumference (CC), chest width (CW) and shank length (SL). The research was carried out at the House’s of Local Chicken Maintenance have Agriculture, Fisheries and Forestry Office of Samarinda City Government, East Kalimantan. The material used 35 local chickens East Kalimantan consists of 21 rooster and 14 hens chicken. Six measured body size variables were body weight, height weight, body length, chest circumference, chest width and shank length. Statistical analysis using descriptive analysis and discriminant analysis with the help of statistical programme computer to find out the differentiation variables between rooster’s and hens chickens were observed. The results showed that significant body size variables differed from height of body and shank length except body length, chest circumference, and chest width. The variability of morphometrics of local chickens of East Kalimantan was 64.16%, while the discriminant model formed for body weight into this study on local chickens of East Kalimantan was Y = 0.649 - 0.359HB + 1.144SL. Abstract

This study aims to determine the effect of rations containing fermented dragon fruit peel on carcass and commercial carcass piece of Lohmann Brown chicken carcasses aged 22 weeks. This research was carried out at the Teaching Farm of the Faculty of Animal Husbandry, Udayana University. Bukit Campus. Jimbaran. Badung. – Bali for 4 weeks. The design used was Completely Randomized Design (CRD) with three treatments namely: laying hens were given rations without fermented dragon fruit skins (R0), laying hens were given rations with 5 % fermented dragon fruit skins (R1), and laying hens were given commercial rations (R2). Each treatment was repeated five times, each replication consisted 3 Lohmann Brown chickens. The variables observed were cutting weight, carcass weight, carcass percentage, and percentage of commercial carcass cuts. The results showed that the treatments of R0, R1 and R2 were not significantly different (P> 0,05) on slaughter weight, carcass weight, carcass percentage, and the percentage of commercial carcass pieces in the back, wings, and thighs. In the chest percentage variable treatment R0 is higher than R1 and R2 is significantly different (P <0,05). From the results of the study it can be concluded that the chicken ted 5 % dragon fruit fermented feel did not affect slaughter weight, carcass weight, carcass percentage, but it affected the percentage of 22 week old Lohmann Brown chicken breast carcass. Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mempelajari efektivitas edible coating dari gelatin kulit cekerpada bakso ayam selama penyimpanan suhu ruang. Pelaksanaan penelitian selama dua bulan (Februari-Maret 2014). Ceker dan bakso dibeli dari Pasar Badung dan beberapa produsen bakso di sekitar Denpasar. Rancangan Acak Lengkap digunakan dalam penelitian ini, sedangkan sebagai perlakuan yaitu perbedaan lama simpan bakso setelah dilapisi dengan edible coating gelatin, yaitu antara lain T0= sebelum penyimpanan, T3= lama simpan 3 jam, T6= lama simpan 6 jam, T9= lama simpan 9 jam dan T12 = lama simpan 12 jam. Variabel yang diamati adalah pH, aktivitas air (Aw), kadar air, kadar protein dan total mikroba. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa nilai pH bahan selama penyimpanan sampai 12 jam mengalami penurunan nyata (P<0,05) pada perlakuan T6; T9 dan T12. Rentang nilai pH bakso ayam pada penelitian ini berkisar antara 6,42-6,64. Kadar air pada perlakuan T3; T6; dan T12  nyata lebih rendah(P<0,05) dibandingkan T0. Rentang kadar air bakso ayam hasil penelitian ini berkisar antara 69,24%(T12)-71,24%(T9). Semakin lama penyimpanan bakso maka kadar proteinnya nyata mengalami peningkatan (P<0,05) pada T6; T9 dan T12 terhadap T0 dan T3. Persentase kadar protein tertinggi terdapat pada perlakuan T12 yaitu sebesar 10,75% dan terendah pada T0 sebesar 7,53%. Total mikroba bakso pada perlakuan T12; T9; T6 dan T3 nyata lebih tinggi (P<0,05) dibandingkan dengan T0 (5,83x105 koloni/g). Total mikroba tertinggi terdapat pada perlakuan masa simpan 12 jam (T12) dengan jumlah 8,0x106 koloni/g. Sedangkan tidak terdapat perbedaan nyata selama penyimpanan terhadap kadar air/Aw bakso(P>0,05).Hasil dari penelitian dapat disimpulkan bahwaedible coatingdari gelatin kulit ceker efektif menjaga bakso ayam selama penyimpanan optimal 6 jam (T6) pada suhu ruang ditinjau dari nilai pH (6,61), kadar air (69,69%) dan kadar protein (8,76%).

Abstract

This study aims to determine the effect of different protein and energy level on nutrient digestibility of bali cattle heifers. This research has been conducted in Farm cattle at Belok Sidan village Petang District, Badung Regency for 3 months. A total of 12 bali cattle heifers used in this study were divided into three groups based on body weight. The treatments consisted of four types of rations, a ration containing 12% crude protein and 2000 kcal ME/kg (treatment A), 13% crude protein and 2100 kcal ME/kg (treatment B), 14% crude protein and 2200 kcal ME/kg (treatment C), and 15% crude protein and 2300 kcal ME/kg (treatment D). The experimental design used was a randomized block design (RCBD). The observed variables were dry matter digestibility, organic matter digestibility, crude protein digestibility, ether extract digestibility and crude fiber digestibility. The results showed that fed ration with different protein and energy content has not significant different (P>0.05) of digestibility of dry matter, organic matter and crude fiber respectively with with values ??of 65.77-71.17%; 67,57-72,60%; and 53.13-54.32%. While for variable of crude protein digestibility and extract ether digestibility, fed rations with different protein and energy content yielded significantly different values ??(P<0.05). Crude protein digestibility and ether extract ether digestibility of treatment D were 23,64% and 16,56% higher respectively than treatment A. Based on the result of this study it was concluded that the increase of protein content of ration from 12% to 15% and metabolized energy from 2000 to 2300 kcal/kg does not affect the digestibility of dry matter, organic matter and crude fiber, but can improve the digestibility of crude protein and ether extract of bali cattle heifers. Abstract

This research was carried to determine the weight of commercial carcass pieces of kampung chickens that given fermented ration with probiotic based a papaya leaf extract. The design used in this study was a randomized block design (RBD) with four treatments and four groups as replication so there are 16 experimental units. The treatments were: (A) 70% commercial ration + 30% corn bran as a control, (B) A ration + 8% probiotic based a papaya leaf extract, (C) A ration + 12% probiotic based a papaya leaf extract, and (D) A ration + 16% probiotic based a papaya leaf extract. Variables observed in this research were weight commercial carcass pieces and percentage commercial carcass pieces breast, wings, back, thigh and drumstick of kampung chickens. The results showed that weight of commercial carcass pieces breast, wings, thigh and drumstick tend to increase with increasing the levels of probiotic based a papaya leaf extract, but statistically no significant (P>0.05). Different with the weight of carcass pieces in back parts on treatment D higher significantly (P <0.05) than treatment A, B and C. Based on this research, it can be concluded that probiotic based a papaya leaf extract at levels 16% in the ration did not affect of commercial carcass pieces (breasts, wings, thigh and drumstick), except for the back.
