Abstract

Adolescence is a time when growth and development occur rapidly both physically, psychologically and intellectually. Adolescent knowledge about good posture is still lacking so there is a need for education and posture checks to prevent the impact of posture changes. The method used in this study is divided into three stages, namely the licensing stage, audience with the school and the implementation of activities by conducting posture checks using postural charts and reedco posture assessment. After conducting the examination then continued with the provision of education about body posture. The output of this activity is an improvement in the quality of health in adolescents who avoid musculoskeletal disorders with awareness of the importance of maintaining posture. The result of this community service activity was the number of students who participated in this activity as many as 44 people with details of men amounting to 18 people (41%), while women amounted to 26 people (59%). Students who experienced good posture as many as 37 people (84%) and students who experienced bad posture as many as 7 people (16%). Based on these results, it can be concluded that students at SMA Negeri 7 have good posture.

Abstract

Futsal is a sport that requires high physical fitness, especially good cardiorespiratory endurance to support player performance during matches. One indicator that can influence cardiorespiratory endurance is Body Mass Index (BMI), which describes a person's nutritional status and body composition. This study aims to investigate the relationship between BMI and cardiorespiratory endurance in futsal players at Bali International University. The research employed a quantitativeapproach with a cross-sectional design. The sample consisted of 30 participants selected based on inclusion and exclusion criteria. Cardiorespiratory endurance was measured using the Harvard step test, and body mass index was calculated using the BMI formula. The results of the Spearman rank test indicated a significant negative correlation between BMI and cardiorespiratory endurance (r = -0.504; p = 0.005). This means that as BMI increases, cardiorespiratory endurance decreases. Based on the study results, it can be concluded that there is a relationship between body mass index (BMI) and cardiorespiratory endurance in futsal players at Bali International University. Based on the study results, it can be concluded that there is a relationship between body mass index (BMI) and cardiorespiratory endurance in futsal players at Bali International University.

Abstract

Introduction: Myogenic Low Back Pain is an uncomfortable pain on the lower back, often caused by musculoskeletal disorders resulting in pain and disability. This case report aims to review ergonomic intervention on physical therapy program on myogenic low back pain. Case description: A 45-years-old man working as a roof tile craftsman complained of pain in the lower back area and already felt it for 1 month ago. The pain did not radiate to the leg. The patient has no neurological signs and symptoms. Patient-reported that he had experienced the same incident about 9 times in the last 3 years ago. The patient always performed bending motion and lifting the roof tile every day. The patient has been visited physical therapy and received ergonomic intervention and physical therapy programs such as core stability exercise, soft tissue mobilization and modalities for seven weeks. Following the ergonomic intervention and therapeutic exercise application, the Visual Analogue Scale score decreased from 6 to 0. The Modified Oswestry Disability Index score gradually decreased from 60% disability to 0% disability. The patient no longer complained of MLBP and was able to lift the roof tile well. Conclusion: After a seven-weeks physical therapy treatment session, the patient did not feel pain and can perform forward bending. Modified Oswestry Disability Index score improved and demonstrated improved lifting the roof tile without any complaints. We concluded that the ergonomic intervention combined with physical therapy programs effectively decreased pain and disability level on a subject with MLBP

Abstract

Background: Elderly is assumed as a person who has been at the age of 60 and will be some alterations, physical alteration in term ages. The physical alteration that is commonly found in the elderly is a condition of the body mass index that will not be taken care of optimally due to the degenerative factor. Purpose: This study is aimed at proving the relation of body mass index towards the cardiorespiratory endurance along with the relation of physical activities towards the cardiorespiratory endurance. Methods: The study design was cross sectional with the population of the elderly in Banjar Alas Arum in which they qualified the inclusion and exclusion criteria. From the elderly that had been selected by means of purposive sampling, it was obtained 48 samples. The BMI was measured by formula calculation. The physical activity level was measured by the International Physical Activity Questionnaire and the cardiorespiratory endurance used 6 minutes walking test. The data were analyzed by software computer which was Somers’ D test. Results: The result of this study showed that by 48 the relation of BMI towards the cardiorespiratory endurance showed that the result of p was 0.000 (p<0.05). Concerning on the relation of physical activities towards the cardiorespiratory endurance shown that the result of p was 0.000 (p<0.05). Conclusion: It can be concluded that there is a significant relation in this study.

Abstract

Background: One activity that might cause lateral epicondylitis is sports. The symptoms of lateral epicondylitis include pain, a loss of strength, and decreased functional status. To counteract this problem by applying mulligan mobilization with movement and blood flow restriction training. This study aimed to determine the potential of mulligan mobilization with movement and blood flow restriction training to alleviate the problems in lateral epicondylitis. Methods: This study uses a literature review by conducting data studies related to mulligan mobilization with movement, blood flow restriction, and lateral epicondylitis. The initial search in 4 databases found a total of 31 articles. After the selection, using inclusion and exclusion criteria obtained, 24 articles. Results: Based on some literature shows that mulligan mobilization with movement and blood flow restriction training effectively can engage descending pain inhibitory systems and increase muscle activation for strength and functional status effect. Conclusion: Providing mulligan mobilization with movement and blood flow restriction training could ease pain and improve hand grip strength and functional activity that occurs when lateral epicondylitis occurs.
