Abstract

The educational paradigm shift in Indonesia emphasizes not only academic achievement but also the development of critical, creative, communicative, and collaborative thinking. Deep learning supports this shift by promoting meaningful, mindful, and joyful learning. Indonesian language textbooks, particularly Cerdas Cergas Berbahasa dan Bersastra Indonesia for grade XI, play a strategic role in enhancing language competence while fostering multicultural values aligned with the nation’s diversity. This study applies a qualitative method using the free conversation technique (SBLC) and content analysis of discourse texts, guided by four indicators of multicultural education: tolerance, democracy or freedom, equality, and justice. Findings reveal that the textbook discourse embeds these values and aligns with deep learning principles. Through selected texts, students are encouraged to think critically, interpret socio-cultural contexts, and reflect on their attitudes in daily life. While not every text represents all four values, the presence of local cultural references, regional languages, and elements of national history enriches the material. These features provide contextual learning experiences that go beyond linguistic skills. Consequently, the textbook proves effective in supporting Indonesian language learning that integrates deep learning approaches and strengthens students awareness of multiculturalism.

Abstract

The public debate over the legitimacy of Joko Widodo's diploma involves not only legal debates but also ideological content and linguistic strategies that reflect power relations in Indonesian politics. This study uses Norman Fairclough's Critical Discourse Analysis (CDA) approach to examine the micro-dimensions of language, specifically the aspects of cohesion, transitivity, modality, diction, and metaphor used in the debate. A descriptive qualitative method was applied with a focus on one episode of the debate on the iNews YouTube channel, using listening techniques and verbatim transcription. The results reveal that these five micro-linguistic aspects work synergistically in representing and reproducing ideologies that strengthen the position and dominance of power in political discourse. These findings provide a new contribution to the development of CDA, especially in the micro-level of Indonesian politics and emphasize the role of language as a tool of ideological struggle in public debate. The limited focus on one episode and micro-dimension is a limitation of this research, opening up opportunities for further study with a broader context and integration of macro-dimensions. The implications of this research are important for a critical understanding of language use in politics and social communication.

Abstract

The basic literacy skills of lower-grade students at Kranji 4 Public Elementary School in Purwokerto remain low, with many students unable to read and write well. Despite adequate access to technology, the use of gadgets is still limited to games and is not optimal for learning. This community service program aims to improve the reading and writing skills of lower-grade elementary school students through the implementation of an innovative digital literacy program. The methods used include Focus Group Discussions (FGDs), outreach, workshops, and the application of learning technology. The program integrates the revitalization of the School Literacy Movement (GLS) with a structured schedule of 15 minutes of daily reading, followed by writing activities. The digital component includes the use of learning applications, interactive media, and educational games for English and other subjects. Teachers received workshop training to develop interactive digital learning media, while parents were actively involved in supporting literacy activities at home. The program results showed significant improvements, with 87% of students improving their reading skills and 92% of students producing written works. The program successfully produced six anthologies with ISBNs containing 156 student works. Daily GLS activities have been proven to be effective in improving vocabulary and basic literacy skills, providing a positive impact on students, teachers, and parents in understanding the importance of digital literacy as a 21st-century skill.

Abstract

This study explores the characteristics of speech disorders in children with ADHD and examines effective intervention strategies, including technopreneurial solutions, and parental language practices to support their communication development. The research aims to bridge the gap in current intervention models by integrating traditional speech therapy with innovative, technology-driven approaches, such as AI-powered diagnostic tools and digital platforms. Using a qualitative case study method, data were collected through structured clinical observations, speech sample analysis, and in-depth interviews with pediatricians, child psychologists, speech therapists, and parents of children with varying types of ADHD. The results reveal that children with ADHD commonly experience articulation difficulties, disfluency, and impairments in receptive, expressive, and pragmatic language skills. A novelty of this study is the development of a structured intervention model that combines conventional speech therapy with ADHD-sensitive techniques, including behaviour management, visual aids, and environmental adaptations, alongside AI-driven diagnostic tools and digital platforms to enhance accessibility and engagement. Additionally, a practical guide to language parenting was designed to empower parents and caregivers to actively support therapy outcomes by using consistent communication strategies at home. The study also produced a comprehensive database of speech characteristics in Indonesian children with ADHD, serving as a foundation for further research and development of more effective assessment instruments. This research underscores the importance of multidisciplinary collaboration and parental involvement in addressing speech disorders in children with ADHD, aligning with SDGs 3 (Good Health and Well-being) and SDGs 4 (Quality Education).

Abstract

The background of this study is based on the growing reliance of businesses on digital data driven by digital transformation, which demands higher standards of data security and transparency. The IoT and Blockchain are recognized as key technologies that can address these issues, yet empirical research exploring their combined roles remains limited. The objective of this research is to examine the role of the IoT in strengthening business data security, the role of Blockchain in enhancing data transparency, and the effect of integrating both technologies on business data management. This study adopts a quantitative approach, with data gathered through questionnaires distributed to business practitioners who have implemented digital technologies. The data were analyzed using descriptive statistical methods and simple inferential analysis to identify relationships among the research variables. The results show that the IoT positively influences business data security through real time monitoring, while Blockchain improves data transparency and integrity through its immutable recording mechanism. Moreover, the integration of the Internet of Things and Blockchain produces a stronger impact on data security and transparency compared to their individual use. The study concludes that the adoption and integration of the Internet of Things and Blockchain provide effective strategies for organizations to enhance business data security and transparency, while also fostering stakeholder trust and supporting business sustainability in the digital era.

Abstract

This study aims to identify and analyze the forms and causes of phonological errors made by non-native Arabic-speaking students when reading the text of the Legend of Roro Jonggrang at Jenderal Soedirman University. One of the errors identified was a phonemic shift in the pronunciation of the word “candi” [candi], which was realized as “jandi” [jandi]. The change from /c/ to /j/ occurs because the Arabic phonology lacks the /c/ phoneme, while the closest sound is the (jīm) phoneme, which is realized as /j/. The absence of a direct phonetic equivalent prompts speakers to substitute a foreign phoneme, resulting in pronunciation that deviates from Indonesian language norms. The research method used is descriptive qualitative, with data from three students from Yemen. The data consists of the students’ spoken utterances, obtained through observation, interviews, audio recordings during text reading, and documentation. Data analysis utilized the Miles and Huberman model, which includes data reduction, data presentation, and drawing conclusions. Data validity was strengthened through source triangulation and member checking to ensure the research results remain objective and consistent with field facts. The research results indicate that there are three main types of phonological errors: phoneme addition (12 instances), phoneme deletion (25 instances), and phoneme substitution (57 instances). Based on these findings, it can be concluded that Arabic-speaking students still face challenges in adapting to the phonotactic patterns of the Indonesian language. This study is expected to contribute to a learning approach focused on strengthening articulation exercises for sound production, as well as intensive guidance that emphasizes empathetic pedagogical interaction between teachers and learners, so that foreign students’ pronunciation skills can develop in accordance with the phonological rules of the Indonesian language. Keywords: phonological errors, foreign speakers, Indonesian language learning, phonology.

Abstract

Several statements regarding the low condition of teachers' skills in writing scientific papers, such as research conducted by Melasarianti, Yulianti, and Marahayu (2023) found several obstacles to the implementation of the independent curriculum, namely teachers rarely conduct scientific research to innovate learning, whether in methods, techniques, media, models, materials, or even stimuli in learning. Observations and interviews with the Principal of State Junior High School 9 Purwokerto Drs. Herry Nuryanto Widodo and several other teachers revealed that the awareness of teachers at State Junior High School 9 Purwokerto in writing scientific papers is still low. Their knowledge of classroom action research (CAR) is also not optimal. Based on the situation that occurs in junior high school teachers in the Banyumas Regency area, especially at State Junior High School 9 Purwokerto, this community service activity was carried out. The implementation method in this activity is expected to be able to improve the scientific writing skills of State Junior High School 9 Purwokerto teachers based on Classroom Action Research (CAR). The results of this activity include: 1) increasing knowledge and information regarding writing scientific papers, 2) increasing knowledge regarding the use of Mendeley and AI as support for writing scientific papers, and 3) increasing knowledge regarding several accredited journals.
