Abstract

Prevalence of sexual behavior in children, around 15% of women under the age of 18 gave birth globally in 2015-2020 and 90% or more of these births occurred in developing countries. The prevalence of having had sexual intercourse in Indonesia is 60% in adolescents aged 16-17 years, 20% in adolescents aged 19-20 years and 20% in adolescents aged 14-15 years. This study is to analyze the relationship between knowledge and attitudes about sexually transmitted diseases with adolescent sexual behavior. This study is an analytical survey study with a cross-sectional method. The study was conducted at SMAN 1 Kota Bengkulu with a population of 190 class X female students with a sample calculated using the Slovin formula, a research sample of 105 people was obtained using a multiple technique. The data was analyzed using the Chi Square test. The results showed that some respondents had less knowledge about STDs, most had negative attitudes and a small number had high-risk sexual behavior. There is a relationship between knowledge and about sexually transmitted diseases with adolescent sexual behavior p value = 0.002 and adolescent attitudes about STIs with adolescent sexual behavior p value = 0.028. It is expected that health workers can coordinate with the Health Center and PKBI in order to design and develop programs for health education related to adolescent sexual behavior.

Abstract

Background:Jaundice occurs when the skin and scleroses become yellow due to increased levels of bilirubin in the blood. It can be physiological or pathological. Pathological jaundice that has a pathological basis or Kreamer score degree reach a value called hyperglycaemia. The assessment of Kreamer score degree from each number is adjusted to the average number with the Kramer degree score. Causes that can be factors include gestational age, birth weight and gender. There are 1.8% of infant deaths caused by hyper bilirubin from all existing perinatal cases. Objectives:This study aims to determine the relationship between Kramer's degree score and the length of stay of infants in the peregrination room of Saharan and DOA Hospital, Bengkulu City in 2024.Methods:This study used a cross-sectional design with a retrospective method. The data taken were secondary data from medical records of jaundice cases. The sample in this study was 138 infants taken using the total sampling technique. Results:The results of the Chi-Square test obtained a p-value of the Kramer degree score for grade 5 Kreamer score degree p=0.000, gestational age p=0.000, birth weight p=0.001, and gender p=0.003 with the incidence of long-term infant care and the most dominant variable was grade 5 Kreamer score degree with an OR value of 6,237;p=0.000 means that grade 5 Kreamer score degree are most related to the incidence of long-term infant care in the peregrination room of Saharan and DOA Hospital, Benelux City. Conclusion:There is a significant relationship between Kramer's degree score, gestational age, birth weight and gender with the length of stay of the baby.

Abstract

Indonesia ranked eighth in the number of child marriages, with a total of 25.53 million cases. Bengkulu Province ranked sixth nationally and was the highest in Sumatra Island for child marriages among adolescents aged 10–14 years, with a prevalence of 14,33%. This study aimed to analyze the effectiveness of spinning wheel media in improving knowledge and attitudes regarding the maturity of marriage age (PUP) among adolescents in Bengkulu City. The research employed a quantitative approach with a quasi-experimental design, using a one-group pretest-posttest format. The sample consisted of 60 adolescents from SMPN 17 and SMPN 22 in Bengkulu City. Based on data analysis, after the implementation of the spinning wheel media, adolescents’ knowledge scores ranged from a minimum of 10 to a maximum of 15. The average knowledge score increased to 12,98 after the intervention. A positive change in attitudes was also observed, with a post-intervention average attitude score of 52. The spinning wheel media proved effective in increasing knowledge and promoting positive attitudes toward the maturity of marriage age. It can be utilized as an alternative educational tool in efforts to prevent child marriage.

Abstract

Despite ongoing efforts to reduce maternal mortality in Indonesia, antenatal care (ANC) coverage—particularly completion of ?4 visits (K4)—remains suboptimal in regions such as Bengkulu City. The involvement of community health cadres is recognized as a key strategy to improve maternal health outcomes; however, limited research has directly examined the effect of structured cadre-based empowerment on ANC knowledge, attitudes, and service utilization. This study aimed to examine the effect of ANC cadre empowerment on ANC knowledge, attitudes, and the frequency of ANC visits among pregnant women in Bengkulu City, Indonesia. This quasi-experimental study employed a pre-test and post-test control group design involving 40 pregnant women in Bengkulu City, Indonesia divided equally into intervention and control groups. The intervention group received structured cadre-based empowerment involving trained health cadres, while the control group received standard counseling. Data were analyzed using Wilcoxon and Mann-Whitney tests to assess differences in knowledge, attitudes, and ANC visit frequency. After the intervention, the knowledge scores in the intervention group significantly increased from 53.80 to 73.90 (p=0.020), while the control group showed no significant change. Attitude scores in the intervention group also increased significantly from 35.35 to 38.25 (p=0.014), unlike the control group (p=0.320). Regarding ANC visits, the intervention group had a higher mean number of visits (mean=4) compared to the control group (mean=3), with a statistically significant difference (p=0.001). Cadre-based empowerment through structured training significantly improved pregnant women’s knowledge, attitudes, and ANC service utilization. This suggests the importance of integrating cadre empowerment models into routine maternal health programs to support improved ANC compliance.

Abstract

The level of sexual behavior in adolescents has increased significantly, especially in several developing countries. Survey results in Bengkulu Province showed that 83.4% of teenagers held hands when dating, 34.2% hugged, 15.6% kissed, and 3.3% touched or stimulated sensitive body parts. This research aims to find out the relationship between peers and the media with adolescent sexual behavior. The design used in the research is cross sectional. Adolescent population at SMPN 20 Bengkulu City. The sample obtained was 87 teenagers taken using stratified random sampling technique. The research data was subjected to statistical tests using the SPSS program. The results of statistical tests showed that there was a relationship between peers (p = 0.000) and information media (p = 0.015) on adolescent sexual behavior at SMPN 20 Bengkulu City. It is hoped that schools can limit teenagers' exposure to risky sexual information media, namely by providing space for teenagers to do physical activities at school and collaborating with health agencies in the area to be able to carry out reproductive health assistance and counseling activities for teenagers so that teenagers can adapt to the process of change. towards adulthood.
