Abstract

Women who married under the age of 16 in Seluma Regency, Bengkulu Province in 2019 with a percentage of 19.49%. The high rate of child marriage causes various health problems including mothers having a 35%-55% high risk of giving birth to babies with low birth weight (LBW).The method of implementing community service activities by forming a group of Youth Information and Counseling Centers (PIK R) SMP 7 Sidoluhur Village, Sukaraja District and continued with counseling on preventing early marriage. The activity was attended by 25 students of SMPN 7 Sidoluhur Village. The activity was carried out in collaboration with BKKBN Bengkulu Province. The results of the activity showed that students' knowledge about early marriage before the intervention was 40% poor, 52% sufficient and 8% good, and after the formation of PIK-R and counseling the level of knowledge was 72% sufficient and 28% good. It is expected that the BKKBN can foster PIK-R activities to increase students' knowledge and awareness of their reproductive health to reduce the incidence of early marriage.

Abstract

Neonatal deaths in Southeast Asia are caused by asphyxia and in Indonesia asphyxia is the cause of infant death. The research was conducted with the aim of analyzing the relationship between premature rupture of membranes (PROM) and gestational age with neonatal asphyxia. The research uses a quantitative approach with a case control type of research. The research was carried out at Argamakmur Hospital in December 2022. The research population was mothers who gave birth at Argamakmur Hospital in January - October 2022 with a sample size of 214 subjetc with details in the case group of 107 subject and the control group of 107 subject. Data collection uses a data collection format. The collected data was subjected to univariate and bivariate data analysis. Bivariate analysis uses the Chi-Square test. Based on data analysis, it is known that there is a relationship between premature rupture and neonatal asphyxia and there is a relationship between gestational age and neonatal asphyxia. It is hoped that health workers will provide communication, information and education on factors that cause asphyxia as an early detection effort and provide opportunities for health workers in the Arga Makmur Hospital environment to take part in skills training in managing asphyxia

Abstract

The disrupted recovery process of postpartum mothers can lead to subinvolution which is one of the causes of postpartum hemorrhage, with the current incidence rate in Indonesia 5% - 20% of deliveries. Treatment in the postpartum period is influenced by cultural factors in the community such as the use of waistband and hot herbal compresses. The purpose of this study was to determine the effectiveness of hot herbal compresses and the use of waistband to reduce the height of the uterine fundus. This research method is quantitative with a Quasi-experimental approach with two group pre-posttest design with a total sample of 60 postpartum mothers and taken by using purposive sampling technique. The results showed that the average decrease in uterine fundal height in the hot herbal compress group and the waistband group had a significant difference with p value <0,05. In conclusion, there was a more significant decrease in the height of the fundus of uterus by giving hot herbal compresses. It is hoped that the use of hot herbal compresses by postpartum mothers as an alternative non-pharmacological therapy.

Abstract

Background: Services during pregnancy are pregnancy health check-up services carried out  by health workers, especially midwives or doctors for pregnant women which are carried out at least four times in pregnancy   with details, namely one time gestational age 0-12 weeks, one time ANC gestational age 13-27 weeks and twice when the gestational age is 28-36 weeks. Based on the profile of K1 and K4 visits from 20 Public Health Centers in Bengkulu City, there are 3 Public Health Centers with K1 and K4 visits which are still low and have not reached the set targets and there is still a drop out where there is a decrease between K1 and K4 visits.Objectives: The study aims to knowing the influence of the empowerment of ANC   the community health worker on the visit of ANC Pregnant Women in Bengkulu City Methods: This research uses a quasi-experimental method. The samples taken for the study were all pregnant women in Bengkulu City who were selected by purposive sampling.  The sample consisted of 2 groups, namely the experimental group on pregnant women with the empowerment of ANC the community health worker  and  the ontrol group with counseling totaling 40 people.  Data collection is carried out through data collection sheets and analyzed data with univariate and bivariate Data analysis used bivariate Results: The results of the study found that there was an Effect of Empowerment of ANC the community health worker  on ANC visits to pregnant women in Bengkulu City in 2020Conclusions: The results Thisstudy was used as an alternative recommendation  for increasing ANC visits

Abstract

Background: Child marriage is a marriage that takes place at an age under 19 years that can threaten life and health. Indonesia's child marriage rate is ranked 7th globally and is ranked 2nd in ASEAN. Child marriage brings more harm than good, it tarnishes children rights in so many aspects including the health rights. It can affects children’s growth and development, especially females under the age of 19 can experience such serious injuries considering the reproductive organ is still immature for them to have sex, let alone pregnant and give birth. Apparently, the child marriage can be influenced by many factors, such as culture, socio-economic and environment. Altough the marriage age has been regulated in laws, the number of child marriage is still arrising.Objectives: This study aims to determine the factors that affecting child marriage in Tanjung Terdana Village, Pondok Kubang District, Central Bengkulu Regency.Methods: The research method is analytic observational with a cross-sectional design. The population is a reproductive age women that married in KUA Pondok Kubang distric in 2020-2022. Samples were taken by a total sampling technique of 31 reproductive age women, and data was collected using a questionnaire. Data analysis used a chi square, fisher’s exact and logistic regression.Results: The results indicate that culture, environment and sosio-economic influence the child marriage with a value (p-value) <0,05, where the most dominant factor is culture.Conclusions: The health workers can work and collaborate cross-sectorally with the local community leaders in order to develop counseling and education programs about reproductive health in the community, especially among adolescents.

Abstract

Exclusive breastfeeding is essential for the health of mothers and children; however, its coverage remains low, with only 44% of infants aged 0-6 months worldwide receiving exclusive breastfeeding. This low coverage can lead to health issues for both infants and mothers. Objective: This study aims to analyze the relationship between maternal knowledge and spousal support regarding exclusive breastfeeding in the working area of Puskesmas Kandang, Bengkulu City, in 2025. Methods: The research design used is analytical with a cross-sectional approach. The sample consists of 106 breastfeeding mothers with infants aged 7-12 months. Data were analyzed univariately and bivariately using the chi-square test. Results:The analysis results indicate a significant relationship between maternal knowledge (p = 0.000) and spousal support (p = 0.001) with exclusive breastfeeding at Puskesmas Kandang. Conclusion: This study is expected to contribute to academic development and Puskesmas, as well as encourage the enhancement of educational programs regarding the benefits of exclusive breastfeeding, involving husbands as primary supporters to increase exclusive breastfeeding coverage and support the health of mothers and infants.

Abstract

In Bengkulu Province, 1.0% of teenagers have engaged in premarital sexual activity with their partners, with a prevalence of 1.6% among male teenagers and 0.6% among female teenagers. This study aims to examine the effectiveness of QR Code digital media in enhancing teenagers' awareness of the risks associated with casual sex at State Senior High School 8 Bengkulu. The research adopts a quasi-experimental design using a pre-test and post-test with a control group methodology. The sampling technique employed proportionate stratified random sampling, selecting a total of 72 students 36 in the intervention group and 36 in the control group. The analysis was conducted using the Wilcoxon test and the Mann-Whitney test. The findings indicate that QR Code digital media (p = 0.000) and Instagram (p = 0.000) were both effective in increasing adolescents' knowledge regarding the risks of casual sex. The mean difference in knowledge levels was 5.69 for QR Code digital media and 5.41 for Instagram. Furthermore, QR Code digital media demonstrated a greater impact (0.47) in improving teenagers' awareness of these risks at State Senior High School 08 and State Senior High School 10, Bengkulu. These findings highlight the potential of QR Code digital media as an effective educational tool. It is recommended that academics, educational institutions, and researchers further integrate and develop digital media-based learning strategies to enhance teenagers' knowledge, particularly regarding sexual health education. Abstract

Antenatal care (ANC) is a medical service that expectant mothers get from qualified personnel. In the current era of digitization, apps are extremely required since they may make things simpler. ANC results are often entered in the KIA book, but recording is still done by hand, and pregnant women frequently forget to bring the KIA book. The purpose of this study is to evaluate the application's efficacy. My ADA on the ANC visitation patterns of expectant mothers in South Jakarta's Bengkulu and Cilandak cities. This kind of quantitative study employs a control group design in a quasi-experimental setting. The study will be conducted in Cilandak, South Jakarta, and PMB Bengkulu City. In 2023, there were 6,279 pregnant women in the PMB neighborhood of Bengkulu City, Cilandak, South Jakarta; 106 of them were selected using the purposive sampling approach. Pregnant women's average knowledge of ANC increased in the intervention group using the My ADA application compared to the control group using the KIA book. The intervention group's knowledge increased with a p-value of 0.000 <0.05, indicating that the My ADA application had an impact on pregnant women's knowledge, while the intervention group's p-value of 0.000 <0.05 indicated that the KIA book had an impact on pregnant women's knowledge of ANC in South Jakarta. The Mann-Whitney test results showed that Mean P-Value = 0.000, there is a difference in the average knowledge score between the My ADA application group and the KIA book group, so it can be concluded that the My ADA Application is more effective in increasing pregnant women's knowledge about ANC compared to KIA book. Abstract

Background: Stunting is a chronic nutritional problem that impacts the physical growth, cognitive development, and health of children in the future. In 2023, Indonesia still had a high rate of stunting at 21.5%, which is higher than the national goal of 14%. In Bengkulu Province, the prevalence of stunting reached 20.2%, while in North Bengkulu Regency it was 8.7%. One of the areas with a high stunting rate is the Kemumu Health Center, where stunting cases were recorded in 120 toddlers (10.56%) in 2024. Factors that affect the incidence of stunting include the history of exclusive breastfeeding and the nutritional status of toddlers.     Objectives: To determine the relationship between exclusive breastfeeding history and nutritional status of toddlers with stunting incidence. Methods: This type of study is a retrospective case-control design. This research was conducted in July 2025. The population of this study is all toddlers whose data were recorded in the register of the Kemu Health Center’s integrated health post (Posyandu). The sample used was 238 toddlers (119 stunted, 119 not stunted) with a simple random sampling technique. The data were analyzed using chi-square.Results: There was a correlation between exclusive breastfeeding history (p=0,000; OR=8,066) and Nutritional Status of Toddlers (p=0,008) with the incidence of stunting. Toddlers who do not get exclusive breastfeeding are eight times more likely to experience stunting. Conclusions: There is a relationship between the history of exclusive breastfeeding and the nutritional status of toddlers with the incidence of stunting in toddlers aged 6-59 months at the Kemu Health Center. It is recommended that to solve the stunting problem, it is essential to provide nutritional information corresponding to the specific needs of toddlers.

Abstract

Abstrak: Propinsi Bengkulu menunjukan untuk cakupan K1 sudah mencapai 97,2% sedangkan K6 hanya 17,9%. Ibu hamil yang bisa menunjukkan kepemilikan buku KIA 62,4%, yang tidak menunjukkan kepemilikan buku KIA 32,7% sedangkan ibu hamil yang tidak mempunyai buku KIA sejumlah 4,9%. Pengabdian yang dilakukan bertujuan melakukan pemberdayaan ibu hamil tentang peningkatan tentanpengetahuan manfaat kunjungan antenatal care melalui aplikasi MY ADA. Metode yang digunakan pada pengabdian ini yaitu promosi edukasi melalui media power point dan video dan melakukan monitoring evaluasi kegiatan memlalui pre tes dan post tes dengan mengisi kuesioner tentang manfaat ANC sebanyak 20 pertanyaan. Mitra kegiatan pengabdian ini yaitu Ibu hamil sebanyak 1515 orang. Hasil evaluasi menunjukkan terjadinya peningkatan hasil setelah dilakukan pendampingan penggunaan aplikasi MY ADA sebanyak 92% ibu hamil dengan kategori nilai lebih dari 60. Kesimpulan dari kegiatan yaitu peningkatakan pengetahuan ibu hamil tentang manfaat kunjungan antenatal melalui penggunaan aplikasi MY ADA dapat meningkatkan pengetahuan ibu hamil. Selanjutnya diharapkan kegiatan serupa dapat dilanjutkan untuk meningkatkan dan mencerdaskan wanita terkait informasi tentang kehamilan. Saran untuk selanjutnya kegiatan serupa dapat dilanjutkan untuk meningkatkan dan mencerdaskan wanita mengenai informasi terkait kehamilannya.Abstract: Bengkulu Province shows that K1 coverage has reached 97.2% while K6 is only 17.9%. Pregnant women who could show ownership of a KIA book were 62.4%, those who did not show ownership of a KIA book were 32.7%, while pregnant women who did not have a KIA book were 4.9%. The service carried out aims to The service carried out aims to empower pregnant women regarding the benefits of antenatal care visits through the MY ADA application. The method used in this service is promoting education through power point and video media and monitoring the evaluation of activities through pre-tests and post-tests. The partners for this service activity are 15 pregnant women. The evaluation results show that there has been an increase in results after assistance in using the MY ADA application for 92% of pregnant women with a score of more than 60. The conclusion from the activity is that increasing pregnant women's knowledge about the benefits of antenatal visits through the use of the MY ADA application can increase the knowledge of pregnant women. Suggestions for further similar activities can be continued to increase and educate women regarding information related to their pregnancy.
