Abstract

ABSTRAK: Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan penerapan model Pembelajaran Berbasis Proyek (Project Based Learning/PjBL) dengan pendekatan psikopragmatik dalam pembelajaran menulis dialog drama pada siswa kelas VIII C SMP Negeri 5 Palu. Latar belakang penelitian ini didasarkan pada rendahnya keterampilan siswa dalam menulis dialog drama, khususnya dalam menggambarkan karakter tokoh, emosi, serta maksud tuturan secara kontekstual. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif dengan desain studi kasus. Subjek penelitian berjumlah 16 siswa yang dipilih secara purposive sampling. Data dikumpulkan melalui teknik observasi, wawancara, dan dokumentasi selama proses pembelajaran berlangsung. Pembelajaran dilaksanakan melalui tahapan PjBL, yaitu pertanyaan mendasar, perencanaan proyek, pelaksanaan proyek, penyajian produk, serta evaluasi dan refleksi. Pendekatan psikopragmatik diterapkan untuk membantu siswa memahami fungsi tuturan dalam dialog berdasarkan konteks psikologis dan sosial tokoh. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa penerapan model PjBL dengan pendekatan psikopragmatik mampu meningkatkan keterampilan siswa dalam menulis dialog drama. Dialog yang dihasilkan siswa menjadi lebih hidup, komunikatif, dan sesuai dengan karakter serta emosi tokoh. Selain itu, siswa menunjukkan keterlibatan aktif, kemampuan bekerja sama, serta pemahaman yang lebih baik terhadap makna tuturan dalam dialog drama. Dengan demikian, model Pembelajaran Berbasis Proyek dengan pendekatan psikopragmatik efektif diterapkan dalam pembelajaran menulis dialog drama di tingkat SMP dan dapat menjadi alternatif strategi pembelajaran bahasa Indonesia yang kontekstual dan bermakna. KATA KUNCI: Pembelajaran Berbasis Proyek, Psikopragmatik, Menulis Dialog Drama.   IMPLEMENTATION OF A PROJECT-BASED LEARNING MODEL WITH A PSYCHOPRAGMATIC APPROACH IN LEARNING TO WRITE DRAMA DIALOGUE AT STUDENTS OF SMPN 5 PALU     ABSTRACT: This study aims to describe the application of the Project Based Learning (PjBL) model with a psychopragmatic approach in teaching writing drama dialogues to class VIII C students of SMP Negeri 5 Palu. The background of this study is based on students' low skills in writing drama dialogues, especially in describing character, emotions, and the purpose of speech contextually. This study uses a qualitative approach with a case study design. The research subjects were 16 students selected by purposive sampling. Data were collected through observation, interviews, and documentation techniques during the learning process. Learning was carried out through the PjBL stages, namely basic questions, project planning, project implementation, product presentation, and evaluation and reflection. The psychopragmatic approach was applied to help students understand the function of speech in dialogues based on the psychological and social context of the characters. The results of the study indicate that the application of the PjBL model with a psychopragmatic approach can improve students' skills in writing drama dialogues. The dialogues produced by students become more lively, communicative, and in accordance with the characters' characters and emotions. In addition, students show active involvement, the ability to work together, and a better understanding of the meaning of speech in drama dialogues. Thus, the Project-Based Learning model with a psychopragmatic approach is effectively applied in learning to write drama dialogues at the junior high school level and can be an alternative strategy for learning Indonesian that is contextual and meaningful. Abstract

This community service program aims to implement character development management by promoting the values of peace, tolerance, and humanity among young participants through the Peace Poster Contest organized by Lions Clubs International District 307-A1. The activity adopts an educational and participatory approach by integrating human resource development management functions, including planning, implementation of value-based learning, and evaluation through poster assessment, feedback provision, and observation of participants’ comprehension. The participants are students aged 7–13 years, representing a critical stage in character formation as part of early human resource development. The findings indicate that participants are able to creatively convey peace-related values through visual media and demonstrate improved understanding of tolerance and harmonious coexistence. Furthermore, the involvement of academics as judges enhances the managerial aspect of the program through structured and educational evaluation. Therefore, this activity confirms that the application of character development management based on peace education is effective in fostering character formation and supporting human resource development oriented toward humanitarian values.

Abstract

This community service program aims to improve service quality and operational efficiency of the Penggilingan Bakso Jawa Timur MSME in Batam City through the Quality Function Deployment (QFD) approach. The main problems identified include inconsistent grinding results, long service times, and high machine noise levels that reduce customer comfort. The implementation method adopts a participatory approach by integrating Voice of Customer (VOC), Critical to Quality (CTQ), and process improvement interventions, including the development of Standard Operating Procedures (SOP), machine maintenance, workspace layout rearrangement, and queue system implementation. Evaluation is conducted by comparing pre- and post-intervention conditions based on operational performance indicators. The results indicate significant improvements in grinding consistency (≥90%), a reduction in defective products by 75%, and a 40% decrease in service time. Additionally, there is a 25% increase in the number of customers and daily revenue. The implementation of quality control and quality assurance has proven effective in enhancing operational performance and customer satisfaction. Therefore, the integration of QFD with VOC and CTQ can serve as a strategic approach to improve competitiveness and sustainability of MSMEs in the food processing sector.

Abstract

This community service program was designed to enhance community capacity in transforming discarded wooden pallets into practical and value-added products, specifically gallon storage racks. The program was implemented among residents of Kavling Kamboja RT.001 RW.015, Sungai Pelunggut Village, Sagulung District, Batam City, Riau Islands Province, with the participation of 35 community members. The initiative addressed key issues, including limited utilization of pallet waste and insufficient technical skills to convert such materials into useful and marketable items. The program employed a participatory training approach, integrating theoretical explanation, live demonstrations, and direct hands- on practice. Participants were guided through each stage of production, covering material selection, cutting techniques, assembly processes, and finishing. The outcomes indicate a noticeable improvement in participants’ practical skills and understanding of recycling-based production. Furthermore, the activity contributed to raising environmental awareness and encouraged the development of small-scale economic opportunities through recycled products. Overall, this initiative demonstrates the potential of community-based training as an effective strategy for promoting sustainable waste management and empowering local communities.

Abstract

This study aims to develop a valid, practical, and effective performance assessment instrument to measure fourth-grade students’ reading literacy skills at SDN Petunggu. The study is motivated by students’ low reading literacy and the limitations of conventional assessments that mainly measure surface-level understanding without capturing students’ thinking processes authentically. This research employed a Research and Development (R&D) approach by adapting the Borg & Gall model, which was modified into several stages: preliminary study, needs analysis, curriculum analysis, product planning, instrument draft development, expert validation, limited trial, and field trial. The developed instrument includes fable texts, performance tasks, answer sheets, and analytic scoring rubrics designed to assess students’ comprehension of narrative texts. Expert validation results indicated that the instrument was categorized as valid. Field trials involving 18 students showed a balanced score distribution, indicating the instrument’s ability to differentiate students’ literacy levels. The majority of students were categorized as Good and Very Good, with no indication of floor or ceiling effects. These findings demonstrate that the developed performance assessment effectively captures students’ narrative reading comprehension in a more comprehensive and authentic manner. Therefore, the instrument is considered appropriate as an alternative assessment tool aligned with the demands of the Independent Curriculum to improve the quality of reading literacy evaluation in elementary schools.

Abstract

This study aims to examine the effect of the poster session learning model assisted by audio-visual media on students’ learning interest and learning outcomes. This research employed a quantitative approach with a quasi-experimental design using a non-equivalent control group design. The sample consisted of an experimental class and a control class. Data were collected using a learning interest questionnaire and a learning outcomes test. Data were analyzed using Multivariate Analysis of Variance (MANOVA). The results revealed a significant effect of the poster session learning model assisted by audio-visual media on students’ learning interest and learning outcomes simultaneously (Wilks’ Lambda = 0.412; F(2,37) = 26.873; p < 0.05). Partially, the model also had a significant effect on both dependent variables. Therefore, this learning model can be considered an effective alternative to improve the quality of elementary education.

Abstract

Purpose of the study: This study aims to improve junior high school students’ interest in poetry writing through the integration of Culturally Responsive Teaching (CRT) and Problem-Based Learning (PBL) within a Classroom Action Research framework. Methodology: The study employed Classroom Action Research (CAR) conducted in two cycles involving planning, implementation, observation, and reflection. Data were collected using a learning interest questionnaire, observation sheets, and student interviews. Quantitative data were analyzed descriptively with percentage gain, and qualitative data were analyzed thematically. Main Findings: The average interest score increased from 59.2% in the pre-cycle to 83.0% in Cycle II, with an overall gain of +23.8%. All indicators—attention, perseverance, enjoyment, and activeness—showed improvement, with activeness having the highest gain (+25.8%). Qualitative data revealed enhanced motivation, confidence, and creativity in connecting cultural themes to poetry writing. Novelty/Originality of this study: This study introduces a culturally contextualized, problem-based approach to poetry writing that merges CRT and PBL principles. It advances existing knowledge by demonstrating how integrating cultural relevance with collaborative problem-solving strategies can significantly increase student engagement and creativity in literary education.

Abstract

Purpose of the study: This study aims to analyze the verbal and nonverbal symbols in the Torompio traditional dance of the Pamona ethnic group in Central Sulawesi. It seeks to interpret the cultural meanings embedded in its movements, lyrics, costumes, and music through an ethnosemiotic approach to reveal the moral, social, and spiritual values reflected in the dance. Methodology: This study employed a qualitative descriptive method with an ethnosemiotic approach, integrating ethnography and semiotics. Data were collected through observation, semi-structured interviews, and documentation using audio-visual tools such as cameras and recorders. Supporting data were analyzed using an interactive model of data reduction, display, and conclusion drawing with reference to Miles and Huberman. Main Findings: The study found that verbal symbols in the Torompio dance such as traditional chants and lyrics express love, respect, and harmony, while nonverbal symbols such as gestures, movements, costumes, and colors represent unity, spirituality, and cultural identity. These symbols together form a semiotic system reflecting Pamona philosophical values of balance, modesty, and social harmony in human relationships and cultural life. Novelty/Originality of this study: This study offers a new ethnosemiotic interpretation of the Torompio traditional dance, highlighting its dual role as an artistic performance and a medium of cultural communication. By revealing how verbal and nonverbal signs convey moral, spiritual, and social meanings, it advances understanding of Indonesian traditional arts as living semiotic systems that preserve local wisdom and identity.

Abstract

This study aims to test the effectiveness of dynamic assessment assisted by Google Forms in learning to read descriptive texts for seventh-grade students. The research method used is a quasi-experimental design with a nonequivalent control group design. The research population consists of all seventh-grade students of SMPN 1 Wita Ponda, totaling 150 students, with a research sample of 66 students divided into 33 students in the experimental class and 33 students in the control class, selected using simple random sampling. Data collection techniques used a multiple-choice test consisting of 25 questions given in the pretest and posttest. Data analysis techniques used descriptive statistics and inferential statistics using t-test assisted by SPSS version 30. The results of the study showed that the experimental group experienced an increase in the average score from 70.58 in the pretest to 83.27 in the posttest, while the control group only increased from 65.03 to 72.30. The normality test in the experimental class obtained an index of 0.180>0.05 and in the control class obtained 0.131>0.05, therefore the data is normally distributed. The homogeneity of variance test on the posttest scores of the control class and the experimental class obtained a p-value of 0.680, where p is greater than 0.05, thus it is declared homogeneous. The hypothesis test results using inferential statistics stated that the research hypothesis was accepted because the p-value (2 tailed) was <0.001 and the t-count > t-table value (7.323 > 2.650), so it can be concluded that the hypothesis in this study is accepted. The research results prove that dynamic assessment assisted by Google Forms is effective in learning to read descriptive texts. AbstrakPenelitian ini bertujuan untuk menguji efektivitas penilaian dinamis berbantuan Google Form dalam pembelajaran membaca teks deskripsi pada siswa kelas VII. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah quasi-experimental design dengan desain nonequivalent control group. Populasi penelitian adalah seluruh siswa kelas VII SMPN 1 Wita Ponda sebanyak 150 siswa, dengan sampel penelitian sebanyak 66 siswa yang terbagi menjadi 33 siswa kelas eksperimen dan 33 siswa kelas kontrol yang dipilih menggunakan teknik simple random sampling. Teknik pengumpulan data menggunakan tes pilihan ganda sebanyak 25 butir soal yang diberikan pada pretest dan posttest. Teknik analisis data menggunakan statistik deskriptif dan statistik inferensial uji-t dengan bantuan SPSS versi 30. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa kelompok eksperimen mengalami peningkatan nilai rata-rata dari 70,58 pada pretest menjadi 83,27 pada posttest, sedangkan kelompok kontrol hanya meningkat dari 65,03 menjadi 72,30. Uji normalitas pada kelas eksperimen diperoleh indeks sebesar 0,180>0,05 dan kelas kontrol diperoleh 0,131>0,05, maka data berdistribusi normal. Hasil uji homogenitas variansi dari nilai posttest kelas kontrol dan kelas eksperimen diperoleh nilai p=0,680 dimana p lebih besar dari 0,05 sehingga dinyatakan homogen. Hasil uji hipotesis dengan statistik inferensial dinyatakan bahwa hipotesis penelitian diterima karena p-value (2 tailed) adalah <0,001 dan nilai thitung>nilai ttabel (7,323 > 2,650), sehingga dapat ditarik kesimpulan bahwa hipotesis dalam penelitian ini diterima. Hasil penelitian membuktikan bahwa penilaian dinamis berbantuan google form efektif dalam pembelajaran membaca teks deskripsi.

Abstract

Public speaking skills are a necessary communication skill for students in the 21st century. This research aims to investigate how public speaking skills of students in the form of videos at universities in Central Sulawesi through project-based learning. The purpose of this study is to describe students' public speaking skills developed in project-based learning. This research was conducted using a qualitative approach, namely descriptive qualitative method. The research data were speech videos uploaded through students' YouTube channels. The analysis technique used content analysis. The research results show three things. First, students have composed speech videos with an opening, content, and closing structure. Second, the language used in the speech videos has both formal and informal variations. Third, the students' appearance shows naturalness. AbstrakKeterampilan berpidato adalah salah satu kemampuan komunikasi yang dibutuhkan oleh siswa di abad 21. Rumusan masalah penelitian ini adalah bagaimanakah keterampilan berpidato mahasiswa yang disajikan dalam bentuk video di perguruan tinggi se-Sulawesi Tengah melalui pembelajaran berbasis proyek. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mendeskripsikan keterampilan berpidato mahasiswa yang dikembangkan dalam pembelajaran berbasis proyek. Penelitian ini menerapkan pendekatan kualitatif dengan metode deskriptif. Data penelitian ini adalah video pidato yang diunggah melalui kanal youtube milik mahasiswa. Teknik analisis menggunakan analisis konten (isi). Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa keterampilan berpidato mahasiswa yang disajikan dalam bentuk video terdiri atas tiga hal. Pertama, mahasiswa telah menyusun video pidato dengan struktur pembukaan, isi, dan penutup. Kedua, bahasa yang digunakan dalam video pidato memiliki ragam formal dan nonformal. Ketiga, penampilan mahasiswa menunjukkan kewajaran.
